Universal Health Care And Healthcare
Imagine what your life would be like if you were one of millions of Americans without medical
coverage. Universal health care is a system that will provide for all of citizens for health care and
financial protection. Over millions of Americans are currently without health care coverage for
themselves and also their families. Universal healthcare refers to any system of health care managed
by the governments. This universal health careis a system that may cover different programs such as
government run hospital, health organizations, and programs targeted that provides health care.
Many developed countries such as Canada and United Kingdom have embraced universal health
care with United Statesbeing the only exception that has not embraced universal health care to its
citizens. One of the reasons is that universal health care will ensured that all Americans citizens
to have the right to health care and will decrease health care costs by allowing people to receive
regular and prevent medical care. And not have to wait until they are chronically ill to seek
treatment when medical costs is way much higher. Another reason is health care should be a right
because it will promote equal opportunity by decreasing the number of people who are
economically disadvantaged in society due to bad health and medically related financial trouble.
And they won t have to worry about when they get sick and have to pay. So I really think is a good
idea that the government should provide health

Holistic Medicine Essays
Holistic Medicine
Holistic Medicine, commonly referred to as Alternative Medicine , is a vast and rapidly growing
new scientific field. It is derived mainly from ancient, traditional methods of healing that have often
been practiced in the East for centuries. These include a variety of techniques from herbal healing to
acupuncture to homeopathy to energy channeling. Due to the large number of methods that are
covered by the term, there are various definitions of Holistic Medicine. However, all literature seems
to agree that Alternative Medicine, is exactly what the name suggests: an alternative approach to
healing and medicine. It is a more personal move toward health care, which attempts to connect the
mind, body and spirit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An increasing number of medical schools are now offering courses in alternative medicine for their
students, and some hospitals already have alternative medicine departments. The availability of
healers and doctors practicing holistic medicine has also increased in recent years, and more and
more people are educating themselves in these new fields. In fact, the World Health Organization
estimates that between 65 and 80 percent of the world s population (about 3 billion people) rely on
traditional medicine as their primary form of health care. Because many of the treatments of
alternative medicine do not adhere to the principles of conventional medicine, whether or not to
allow practice of these techniques in the United States is a major concern of the medical
community today. The Food and Drug Administration is the decision making body of issues such
as this and more often than not, does not approve many of these practices. Due to the fact that
holistic medicine sometimes contradicts the fundamentals of biomedicine, health care regulation
boards such as the FDA find it difficult to accept many of these treatments. Because the Western
world is so unfamiliar with these techniques it is only natural for medical community to often
disprove these methods. However, as more and more doctors discover the limitations of

Tourism In Azerbaijan Essay
Abstract Today, the Republic of Azerbaijan occupies a critical juncture between central Asia,
Europe, and the Middle East. Despite some significant challenges, Azerbaijan currently enjoys a
healthy petroleum based economy that is being increasingly diversified by the public and private
sectors to promote travel and tourism in this ancient land that enjoys a modern infrastructure and a
wide range of cultural heritage tourism destinations. Although many of the country s most widely
acclaimed destinations for international visitors are located in its capital, Baku, there are numerous
archeological and historical sites located in neighboring towns and regions as well that can form the
basis of a comprehensive cultural heritage tourism operation, providing certain factors are taken
into account in formulating the destination offerings. The Azerbaijan tourism industry has failed to
provide positive returns on its investment because the income that has been generated by tourism
industry has grown at a slow pace and gross domestic product attributable to the tourism industry
has actually fallen in recent years. Consequently studies such as this can help identify best practices
to speed industry growth and improve the return on the investment of scarce resources in the
Azerbaijani tourism industry. Acknowledgments [insert] Table of Contents Page Abstract

History of Organization and Name
Originally named the Boston Braves, the Washington Redskins remain known for their legacy and
team history. Under the ownership of George Person Marshall, Vincent Bendix, Jay O Brien and
Dorland Dolye, the Boston Braves were born as part of the NFL franchise in 1932. Shortly after in
1933, they renamed the Boston Redskins, followed by another name change when they
reestablished in Washington D.C as the Washington Redskinsin 1937; and made the Griffith

The Redskins name symbolizes the organizations past, present and future. Coaches, players, and
dedicated fans are concerned that the franchise will lose the support of the community and funding
if a campaign to change the Redskins name is not implemented.
Marketing Plan
With the recent uproar and political involvement with the name controversy, as an organization we
have developed a marketing campaign to involve our elite fan base with changing the Washington
Redskins name, to one that is well accepted within the community. Since the organization is
enriched with history and traditions, we developed a strategic campaign that stays true to the
Redskins values. Our plan is to keep the Redskins brand as consistent as possible, while assuring
the uniformity of the brand by keeping the current logo and the same color scheme. We will ensure
that the experience fans get when they come to watch the team play is the same or better than
before.
Objectives
To guarantee a successful transition throughout the campaign we have brainstormed strategic
objectives to create a smooth process to sustain our influential fan base.
Launch promotion the day after Super Bowl XLVIII on February 3, 2014 We chose this date due
to the popularity of the NFL at this time. The Super Bowl is a well marketed event that causes

she would become extremely violent. Her parents did not know how to control her and they let her
get away with anything.
Fortunately, they learned about Annie Sullivan, a teacher of the blind, who came to teach and live
with seven year old Helen.
Learning to Communicate
Anne Sullivan began by teaching Helen finger spelling, starting with the word doll, to help Keller
understand the gift of a doll she had brought along. Other words would follow. At first, Keller was
curious, then defiant, refusing to cooperate with Sullivan s instruction. When Keller did cooperate,
Sullivan could tell that she wasn t making the connection between the objects and the letters spelled

frustration grew, the tantrums increased. Finally, Sullivan demanded that she and Keller be isolated
from the rest of the family for a time, so that Keller could concentrate only on Sullivan s instruction.
They moved to a cottage on the plantation.
In a dramatic struggle, Sullivan taught Keller the word water ; she helped her make the
connection between the object and the letters by taking Keller out to the water pump, and placing
Keller s hand under the spout. While Sullivan moved the lever to flush cool water over Keller s
hand, she spelled out the word w a t e r on

as a small business on domestic market, but from the very beginning the aim was to go
international. Through heavy investments in research and development and knowing their
customers the company built its success worldwide. In 2014 the turnover was 189 million and it
employed 1350 people. Geographically Halton covers today most of the world, having

would be necessary to be able to penetrate these markets, and they would need to be first trained

offices and salaries of all the employees would be a considerable cost with the Swiss price level.
As Halton already has a reliable partner covering all these areas with no expenses, there would be
no point in expanding the operations. Walter Meier is a local, successful company and it sells
Halton s products with exclusive rights in Switzerland all language areas with local expertise. If
Halton didn t have such good agreement with Walter Meier, it would definitely be worth entering

The Wager Line Analysis
Everything begins with a foundation page that has Meow, the fortunate feline, taking up the
greater part of the screen in front a light red foundation finish with yellow images of various
sizes. Proceeding onward to the diversion, the foundation shading turns out to be considerably
darker. As there is no significant foundation region, the red truly stands out. Not just do the little
images show up in various sizes, however in a few shades of red. The 5 reels that make up the
diversion are utilized as a component of a Chinese hovel, yet what emerges is the absence of the
amusement s title. That space is taken up by various alternatives appearing at the highest point of
the screen, including the name of the diversion and the different rewards.... Show more content on

0.10, 0.25, 0.50 and 1.0. The wager lines are anything but difficult to change somewhere around
1 and 20, with an indication of what line you are on the screen either side of the reels. There are
outlines of each on the Pay table. There s a Max Bet which empowers a wager of 200.0 and a
somewhat flawless Auto Play which gives choices of 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100, and even a vast
alternative. Give the great times a chance to roll. There is a Fast Speed choice so you can
likewise make them roll significantly speedier. The fortunate feline is the highest point of the
normal images and worth up to 500 credits, with the shake 400. These 2 are the main ones to
give anything for getting 2 of a kind, properly giving 2 credits. The blooms have a most extreme
estimation of 200, with the Ace worth 150 going down to the image 10 at 50. The music when
playing isn t anything unique, with fundamental sound impacts and the odd whimper where
proper. Somewhat baffling truly. The payable is one of the neatest ones around, proceeding with
the red foundation, however this time without the brightening shapes. Each of the images is in a
darker red box, with the three extra ones above. The Wildcard is the place the genuine power is.
If you get 5 of them you ll get 10,000 credits, with 4 being a profitable 2,000. It replaces
everything beside the Scatter and Bonus. The Scatter is a lofty brilliant pot. And also being

the off chance that you get 2, 3 or 4), you can get 10 free twists on the off chance that you see at
least 3 of them in one go. All wins in the Free Games are tripled, aside from the Lucky Bonus. In
the event that you get no less than 3 of these on ceaseless reels, starting from the fundamental reel

Similarities And Differences Between Oedipus And Jocasta
Oedipus and Jocasta seem interesting because how they react to the situations that they are
presented upon them. They also share very similar characteristics but yet each are different in the
story of Oedipus Rex. Oedipus was going to get to his fate no matter what ways he turned because
the curse put upon King Laius. It was the fact that he had been cursed that made it seem more
interesting and the circumstances that he would bring upon himself. Jocastaalso could ve been
cursed along King Laius and her role to stop the oracle from happening was what brought the plot
forward from the start. Oedipusflaw characteristics that stood out were anger, cowardness, pride,
fear, willfulness, and deniable. His anger most of the time would get the best of him and in the
most desperate times also. He that led the way and the old person himself wanted to thrust me out
of the road by force. I became angry and struck the coach... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The main one that stands out for both is their anger issue. Oedipus obviously showed a lot of
anger and when he did he would make mistakes. Jocasta, knowing the truth, raged into her
bedroom cursing at Laius, at herself and pulled her hair out by herself that shows a lot of anger
and right after she killed herself, while Oedipus also anger at the King Laius resorted to killing.
They are also deniable. In Oedipus Rex they showed it a lot whenever the truth kept on being
closer to be revealed they tried to find ways out of the truth. Truly, both character may have develop
different but they still show the same actions and emotions. Jocasta was actually calm whenever
Oedipus related to the story of how King Laius died, while Oedipus was getting nervous, scared.
This just shows how each character is unique to themselves and at the end the decision each made

Quit Day 5 Steps To Quit Smoking

Last month Jon saw a commercial on T.V. about the harmful effects smoking has on the body. The
commercial showed how smoking can lead from things as minor as bad breath and yellow teeth to
something as severe as lung cancer. Jon, a frequent smoker, decided he would put down his
cigarettes for good. Jon threw his last pack of cigarettes in the garbage that day. Today though, Jon
is still smoking. He only went two days without smoking and began to experience great
withdrawals. Jon thought he had to buy another pack just to feel better. Jon saw the commercial
again today and decided that he could not do this alone; he needed help. Jon called the number
on the commercial and began to speak to a specialist who gave him great advice on how to quit
his habit for good. The specialist told Jon that there were five steps he needed to follow in order
to start his journey to quit smoking. Set a quit date, stay busy, avoid smoking triggers, stay
positive, and ask for help from others ( Quit Day:5 Steps ) The first step in the process to smoking

Twilight Of The Idols Essay
In Twilight of the Idols Nietzsche writes, My objection against the whole of sociology in England
and France remains that it knows from experience only the forms of decay, and with perfect
innocence accepts its instincts of decay as the norm of sociological value judgments. The decline
of life, the decrease in the power to organize, that is to tear open clefts, subordinate and super
ordinate all this has been formulated as the ideal in contemporary sociology. (p 541). The culture of
Europe at the time of Nietzsche s writing was experiencing a general decline in vitality which was
exemplified in Christianity (Platonism) and anarchy or nihilism. Nietzsche saw himself as a kind
of philosophical doctor, capable of diagnosing the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Christian is a nihilist in that they reject the only kind of life possible in the here and now,
and in this rejection they undercut the possibility of the only type of meaning that ever was or
ever will be available to man. They hate the world in which they are what they are, so they desire a
world ruled by the mediocre.
Throughout Twilight of the Idols, it is apparent that Nietzsche felt that when the weakest portions
of society band together, perverting and distorting the natural order, the situation becomes nihilism.
Christianity is a symptom of this tendency, but in the example of Socrates we have the typical
model of the slave revolt against master morality and the most significant aspect of modern
nihilism. The most important thing to know about Socrates, according to Nietzsche, is that he was
ugly. This physiological fact accounts for his entire orientation towards life in the Greek Polis. He
sought to take revenge upon the beautiful culture of the Greeks, and in a masterful departure from
nature, he developed the art of logical arguments. It was in the practice of logic and argumentation
that Socrates saw his opportunity to overpower the authority of those around him and to thus
secure a position of moral superiority to them. Anyone can learn logic, and since logic is directly
opposed to unsubstantiated appeals to authority, Socrates and his followers were advocates of a
kind of a type of nihilism which invited

Successful CEOs Deserve their Huge Salaries
Are America s CEOs paid more than they deserve? Many people s answer is a vehement: Yes.
That view is reinforced anew every spring, when companies file their financial statements and we

In 2003 the average pay for CEOs at 200 of the largest U.S. companies was $11.3 million but
there are a good number whose compensation packages approach the $100 million mark. Faced
with these figures, Americans from all walks of life who revile CEOs as greedy fat cats are
overcome with bewilderment and indignation. Astonished to learn that what an average worker

What long term business model will attract venture capital? Should the company accept short term
partial sponsorship from a large drug manufacturer in exchange for a modest royalty on the drug

company s success is made and lives of cancer patients may depend.
In order to be successful in the long range, the CEO s strategy must encompass countless factors.
He must devise a plan to grow the business in the face of competitors, not only from within the
United States but from any and every region of today s global economy. The CEO calls the plays
for a team of tens (and sometimes hundreds) of thousands of workers. All of the actions of every
employee and every aspect of the business must be coordinated and integrated to produce the cars,
computers or CAT scanners that yield profits to the company. It is the CEO who is responsible for
that integration.
To successfully steer a corporation across the span of years by integrating its strengths toward
the goal of creating wealth, requires from the CEO exceptional thought and judgment. Excellent
CEOs are as rare as MLB caliber pitchers or NFL caliber quarterbacks. And in the business world,
every day is the Super Bowl. There is no off season or respite from the need to perform at one s
peak.
Given the effect a CEO can have on a company s success, we can understand why their

The Divine World And The Human World
Everywhere we look we see people searching for greater significance in this world and in
themselves. This quest sometimes leads to establishing or changing one s identity. Developing into
an individual is the process defined as personhood. Personhood is a straight forward concept
applicable to everyone except JesusChrist. Personhood becomes problematic with Jesus because of
His documented dual nature being fully divine and fully human. Jesus dual nature has generated a
significant amount of controversy throughout history. The intention of this essay is to explore the
personhood of Jesus which will confirm His dual nature was not only valid but also required for
humankind s salvation. An estimated 64% of all people today believe that they have a soul or
spirit. Based on this statistic people believe that there is a distinct difference between a divine
world and the human world. Division of worlds implies a crossroads making heaven divine and
earth human, The spirit of man is the meeting point of two worlds, the divine world and the human
world (Turincev, 2013, p.58). This degree of separation between the divine and human only
attributes to the complexity in understanding the personhood of Jesus. If we have distinctly
different vicinities for the divine and humans then the concept of one individual possessing both
attributes at the same time problematic at best. Personhood, by definition, is the condition of being
an individual person. This definition is singular

significance of the Gallipoli campaignwas that it established an Australian image. An image of

What are you willing to sacrifice for your fellow troops, and those back home? Archy, being one
of the fastest runners in the trenches, was asked to run messages back and forth between the
front line and the command tent. Archy refused, even knowing that he could be killed that day.
He, instead, gave the role to Frank. Archy didn t even want gratification for this. It was a selfless
act. He wanted to fight to make a difference, and he also didn t want Frank to get hurt. Even
Frank, when he had to deliver an urgent message, ran as fast as he possibly could, even while
being fired at, to try and save Archy s life. Archy and many others died that day, for very little

their fellow soldiers, the ones they had only known for a very short time, but had grown life long

Roger Chillingworth And Multiple Evil Figures In The...
Novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne, in The Scarlet Letter, recounts the events of an adulteress living in
a Puritan community, who is forced to submit to public shaming and the vengeful actions of her
husband. Hawthorne elaborates on the underlying idea that Roger Chillingworth is maleficent,
which works towards the overall purpose that evil temptation ultimately causes negative outcomes.
Through the utilization of Biblical allusions, Hawthorne conveys the similarities between
Chillingworth and multiple evil figures. He uses the parallel structure of juxtaposition to show the

Similar to the devil, Chillingworth shows a sense of excitement, of the discovery of a new sinner,
because he is now able to torture the person for eternity, rather than forgive their sins similar to a
perceived holy figure. Hawthorne embodies that Chillingworth is accepting these evil feelings due
to his emotions, which show a sense of commitment and attachment. Through the expression of
Chillingworth s emotions and his separation from innocence, Hawthorne emphasizes that the evil
within Chillingworth causes him to desire morally wrong actions, which leads to his personal
obsession towards the temptation to act upon evil. Hawthorne purposely juxtaposes Chillingworth s
self portrayed helpful manner with the reality of his dark intentions in order to reveal the change of
his character. Through Chillingworth s expression of his calm, meditative, scholar like manner, he
disguises himself as an intellect, specifically a doctor, who personally gains comfort from helping
Reverend Dimmesdale (Hawthorne 112). Hawthorne portrays a change that takes place as
Chillingworth carries out his scheme for revenge by revealing something ugly and evil in his face,
which they had not previously noticed , showing a contradiction between Chillingworth s outermost

Developing Private Label Between China And Uk Essay
In recent years, due to the change of own profit model, high inflation, increasing operating costs and
competition from online commerce, traditional retail businesses have grown slowly in China.
Chinese retail business, especially supermarkets need to be transformed and updated. Developing
private label brands is one of the most efficient ways to realise supermarkets transition and
updating, it could reduce costs and improve supply chain system. However, the development of
supermarket private labelin China is only in start up stage now which leaves plenty of scope to
learn from mistakes and successes from other businesses. The British retail market is the second
largest in Europe, and has the highest profit margins in the world. Its supermarket private label has
developed into a mature stage (Zhen, 2007). Since there are limited studies in the area of analysing
the gap between British and Chinese supermarket in developing private label, this study will help
to stop the gap in literature study of comparing the development of private label between China and
UK. In addition, it may predict the future developing trend of Chinese private label and benefit
Chinese supermarket managers on how to introduce more successful strategies of private label
products in further development on the basis of British experience.
The author chose this topic due to a personal interest on the development of supermarket, growing
up in a family where most members work in the retail industry.

Minoans. Their success was based on trade, instead of conquest. They set up trade outpost
throughout the Aegean world. They got new ideas about fields such as writing and architecture
from Egypt and Mesopotamia. They used these ideas and adapted them into their own culture. We
learned a lot about the Greek s from their frescoes, which are colorful paintings completed on wet
plaster. They often depicted Minoan society, and they told us that they valued the sea and they
worshipped a bull as well as a mother goddess. In about 1400 B.C., Minoan civilization
disappeared, and the Mycenaeans replaced them. The Mycenaeans were the first Greek speaking

They developed their own unique ways, at the same time. Specifically, Greeks developed news
ideas on governing each individual Greek polis. A polis is a city state. The earliest civilizations
began around fertile river valleys. Strong rulers organized ways or irrigation that helped produce
surpluses of food that were needed by large cities. By 750 B.C., a rapid population growth forced
many Greeks to leave the overcrowded valleys. Because fertile land was limited, the Greeks
expanded overseas. The gradual scattering of Greek colonies took place all around the
Mediterranean from Spain to Egypt. They carried their ideas and cultures to all the places they
traveled. Greek civilizations had several different types of government. A monarchy is a
government system where a hereditary ruler exercises a central power. Slowly the power shifted
to a class of noble landowners. They could only afford bronze weapons and chariots, so they
were also military defenders of the city states. An aristocracy is the rule by a hereditary
landholding elite. As trade expanded, a new middle class emerged in some cities. This class
consisted of wealthy merchants, farmers, and artisans. They challenged landowning nobles and
then dominated some city states. The result of this was a form of government called an oligarchy.
Power is in the hands of a small, wealthy elite. The changes in military technology

Analysis Of The Book For The Sake Of Posterity
Einhard, a German raised in the Carolingian court of Charlemagne wrote a vita as a tribute to his
king around 825 826 called The Life of Charlemagne after the kings death. He wrote this book
either at Charlemagne s son King Louis court or at one of his numerous properties throughout the
Frankish kingdom. Based on the didactic nature of the document and Einhard s own saying that
the book is for the sake of posterity it is likely that his writing was either meant as a historical book
concerning the life of King Charlemagneto be used by further generations or, more likely based on
the type of information provided, meant to be a guide for future kings such as Louis on how to
be a good and proper king of as high a quality as the highly praised Charlemagne. Einhard was the
foster son of Louis father, Charlemagne, and it appears that Einhard was trying to use their mutual
father figure to set an example for Louis because Louis kingdom was unstable. However, courtiers
of the time knew that they could not outright insult King Louis actions, therefore Einhard needed a
way to communicate his constructive criticisms to the king without being forthright about his
contempt for Louis and his behaviour. The careful courtier Einhard, while writing The Life of
Charlemagne tried to make Charlemagne appear to be a strong leader as well as a friendly person
in general but, flattery aside, his writing suggests that Charlemagne was in fact controlling,
relentless, ferocious, and aggressive.

Herodotus On The Customs Of Persians
This essays point is to analyze the primary source and review what the document tells us about
the Persians and what it might be telling us about the Greeks. The primary source being used is
On the Customs of Persians by Herodotus which is written from his view point on the Persians
in comparison to the Greeks customs and beliefs. This paper will discuss the similarities and
differences between the two with evidence found in the primary source to back it up with quotes
and explanations to why it s important. The Greeks and Persians while sharing some similarities
they are outweighed by the two s differences such as; their image in god, sacrificing rituals,
customs, and death rituals. The first difference we see between the two and could also be the
biggest, is the Persians not having a set image of god since the Greeks see their gods as in the
same nature as man. We can infer this to Persians by this quote: They have no images of god, no
temples nor alters, and consider them a sign of folly. (Herodotus par.2) Which tells us they do not
see gods as an image of man like the Greeks, they would see it foolish to think of them as mere

An example is their learning of an unnatural lust from the Greeks which leads them to Each of
them having several wives, and still larger number of concubines. (Herodotus par.6) This quote

they both seem to share. It also tells us that the Persians seem to like and adopt certain foreign
customs that they see to be as superior or as of a luxury to them, while the Greeks are more to
keeping of their own customs instead of adopting new ones or modify the ones they already have.
The Greeks seem to hold their customs very close due to it working closely with their religion that

The Theme Of Romanticism In The Awakening By Kate Chopin
Some of the motives of the book the awakening were music, children, and houses. Music gives us
a sense of Edna ideological alignment in relations with the others characters. Edna first learns
about the emotive powers of music from Mademoiselle Reisz, whereas Adele Ratignole piano
playing is sentimental for Edna. When Adele is playing the piano it stirs new feelings and
emotions in her. The children relate to Edna because she sees a form of rebirth as she discovers
the world from a child perspective, the side of her childishness is admirable, she becomes self
absorbed and she never thinks realistically about the future or the consequences of her actions. Edna

it is unusually frank treatment of a then controversial subject, the novel is widely admired today for
its literary qualities. Edmund Wilson characterized it as a work quite uninhibited and beautifully

Conventional Drug Delivery Systems ( Ddss )
Abstract:
With the emergence of more novel and effective drug therapies, increased importance is being
placed upon the methods by which these drugs are being delivered to the body. Different
methodologies have been heavily investigated as possible solutions , one of these methods are
intelligent or Smart polymeric drug delivery systems . Stimuli responsive and self regulating drug
delivery systems have captured the imagination of researchers, in large part because they suggest a
means to mimic the physiological homeostatic feedback mechanisms that are essential for health.
As dysregulation of homeostasis is a feature of many diseases such as diabetes and cancer.
1.Introduction:
Conventional drug delivery systems (DDSs) are often accompanied by systemic side effects that
mainly are attributed to their nonspecific bio distribution and uncontrollable drug release
characteristics. To overcome these limitations, advanced controlled DDSs have been developed to
achieve the release of payloads at the target sites in a spatial controlled manner.
Commercially available controlled release devices offer several advantages, e.g. they maintain the
drug within the desired therapeutic range with just a single dose, they allow localized drug
delivery which ultimately may reduce the need for follow up care, they preserve drugs that are
rapidly destroyed by the body and ultimately improve patient compliance.
With the breakthrough of the biotechnology field in medicine, many advantages of

Power Transition
Soft power is important in today s world because it essentially influences beliefs on one s behalf.
Convincing people to want what you want, instead of forcing them or coercion them holds a huge
advantage. The use of force and intimidation and coercion will ultimately lead to negative power.
The use of soft powerleads to positive power, where both sides win. Today, the growth of Asia
will heavily influence the power of the world, and is shaped by their beliefs. As Dr. Nye states in
the video, power today is not just winning wars, its about whose story wins and if China s power
spreads throughout Asia then ultimately power lies with them.
I agree with Dr. Nye s understanding and framing of power transition .

The Very Different Ruling Styles of Augustus Caesar and...
Two of the more memorable emperors to the Romans were Augustus Caesar (27 BC to 14 AD),
and Caligula (37 AD to 41 AD). Although only having ruled the empire by a separation of 23
years and belonging to the same family (through marriage and adoption), their empires couldn t
have been more different. It is possible to determine the impact of an emperor s rule based on
their many vices and virtues, as well as the choices that they make in relation to them. The
author Suetonius expressed in his writings the many vices and virtues that put into perspective
the kind of leaders that these emperors appeared as to their polis. As we explore the concept of
vices and virtues, as well as what kind of ideals these two rulers represented, we will begin to be
presented with a clearer picture of what an ideal emperor would have looked like. A vice can be
described as an immoral or wicked behavior; while a virtue can be described as a behavior
showing high moral standards. Suetonius and the Roman people had a high interpretation of the
concept of virtue and vice, as well as their role in the ruler s life.
When discussing Augustus and Caligula it is simple to bring up the subject of public works and law.
Augustus had the most success with his many projects, including the Temple of Mars the Avenger,
the Palatine Temple of Apollo, and the Temple of Jupiter the Thunderer on the Capitol. Many

Noonan Syndrome Research Paper
Overview Noonan syndrome is a disorder caused by a genetic mutation that causes various parts
of the patient s body to develop abnormally. The condition occurs when a parent passes on an
affected gene to their child that produces constantly active proteins, leading to a disruption in the
process of normal cell division and growth. Science currently knows of eight genes in which a
mutation can cause the disorder. In some cases, there is no family history and the mutation is
spontaneous. Symptoms One of the main indications of Noonan syndrome is the abnormal
development of the person s face, which varies at different ages. Newborn babies generally have
low set ears, slanting or wide set eyes, and a short neck, among other features. Infants

Xie states that women with children have a much smaller chance to pursue a career in
engineering. These women are less likely to receive a promotion. Gender roles in society demand
more of women in raising children. Differences in marriage and social life can be held responsible
for most of the difficulty that is placed on women in engineering. Interest in science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics (STEM) is thinning for women as they progress into higher levels.
Women in grades 7 12 were surveyed to see if their interest in STEM fields were diminishing.
According to Van Leuvan, this survey showed that there was a decline in interest as these girls

Musculoskeletal Markers On The Shoulders
MUSCULOSKELETAL MARKERS ON THE SHOULDERS
By: Dustin Shinkle
ANTH 3420
University of Northern Iowa
Fall 2016 Abstract The purpose of this paper is to better inform the readers what stress markers
are and what they are able to tell an anthropologist about a person. The reason that this is important
is that it can help identify specific traits of how the person lived their life and a potential
understanding of their work. In reading this paper you will hopefully have a better understanding
how sex, age, and lifestyles can influence stress markers on bones of the shoulder joints.
Introduction:
Musculoskeletal stress markers can be found at the origin and insertion points of a muscle on a bone
. These areas are known also as an enthesis. When using a muscle, a muscle will constrict and
tighten, pulling at the origin and insertion point creating more blood flow to these areas so that
they can create osteoblast as over time the bone that the muscle is attached to will diminish over
time if not restructured. Over time the amount of osteoblast tends to dwindle creating more stress
markers left on the bone. With this anthropologist, can approximate the age of an individual from
the markings that were left behind. Anthropologist are also able to determine to an extent on the
sex, weight, and other traits of the person they are analyzing. When it comes to sex of an individual
studies have found that the stress marking in males tends to be greater in males than that

The Bhopal Disaster And Its Causes And Effects Essay
Now that we have an understanding of the Bhopal Disaster and its causes and effects, we can
now try and understand the connection and importance that Indra Sinha s Animal s People has to
the tragedy. In the first few pages of the novel, the narrator introduces himself stating, I used to be
human once. So I m told. I don t remember it myself, but people who knew me when I was small
say I walked on two feet just like a humanbeing, (Sinha 1). As a reader, an introduction like this
gets me curious to understand who or what the narrator really is or stands for. He had not even
stated that he was an animal and as a reader, I inferred that it was a possibility. He goes on to state
that this entire book is a record of his oral story on a set of cassette tapes. An Australian journalist
named Phuoc and known as Jarnalis throughout the book had intentions of getting the victims
stories out to the world, especially the story of this four footed schizophrenic boy who went by the
name Animal . Early on in the book, Animal argued why he did not want to tell the Jarnalis
anything in the first place. Somewhere a bad thing happens, tears like rain in the wind, and look,
here you come, drawn by the smell of blood. You have turned us Khaufpuris into storytellers, but
always of the same story. Ous raat, cette nuit, that night, always that fucking night (Sinha 5). When

Women s Struggle For Equality
Women in American society have endured numerous struggles to fight for equality throughout
history. Today American women have come a long way by narrowing gender gaps and
becoming successful in aspects of life that are prominently male dominated. Although American
women are living a better life than they were years ago, they still deal with inequality when it
comes to the workforce, income, politics, domestic duties, and sex. The reason women are not
equal to men in these aspects of life are because men hold most of the jobs in the STEM fields of
work, make higher incomes than women in the same level of employment, dominate congress and
the government, not looked upon to take care of the house duties, and are praised for sex rather
than shamed like women are. Living as an American woman today is far from difficult but in
contrast, living as an American man is still substantially better. Women have dealt with constant
battles in the workplace but the most important was the ability to work alongside men in any field
of employment. As stated in the article, Women in the Professional Workplace by Jennifer Dorning,
the status for women in the workforce has improved over the last several decades, but many
women still struggle for equality in many occupations (Dorning). For example, women are
extremely underrepresented in the fields of science, technology development, and engineering
making up only 20% of the people employed in these particular categories (Pinker). From

The Modernist Attributes of C.L.R. James s Minty Alley
Born in Trinidad and later expatriating himself first to London and then the United States, C.L.R.
James was a key figure of the West Indian literary scene during the 1930s. Today he is primarily
associated with his nonliterary writings in sociology and politics, and his fiction seems to have
dropped from critical attention. Part of this shortsightedness stems from the fact that little of his
fiction is readily available to a reading public in this country. Although a selection of his shorter

In part, my desired shift of critical focus is a response against the predominant tendency in Anglo
American literary studies of underestimating the formal experimentation of early twentieth century
Caribbean writing. Critics tend to construct narratives in which British, American, and continental
European writers set the standard for and carry out the work of producing modernist
experimentation. Those few critics who have turned their attention to James fiction continue to
follow suit of this general critical trend. Paget Henry and Paul Buhle have remarked that this
author s value lies in his status as an anti colonial writer, an identity that they believe to be
affirmed by Minty Alley because of the careful artistic representation [that it] gives to the lives of
working class Trinidadians and its affirmation of the creative self projections that such individuals
established in relation to their world (122). James did envision his novel as a populist one,
affirming his own mothers s adage that [t]o write forblack people in the Caribbean was a distinction

The central character appearing in all six movies in the Star Wars saga is Darth Vader, who is

Anakin Skywalker s journey in the galaxy made him my favorite character while watching the

Amidala who were strangers to him at the time. When Qui Gon Jinn discovers Anakin s extremely

episodes two and three, it is evident that Anakin becomes power hungry and controlling. He loves
Padme very much and wants to prevent Padme s childbirth death so he joins the dark side and

Privacy issues have been an ongoing problem in our world for a long time now, and recently it

1984 written by George Orwell, privacy is one of the main issues of the entire plot. All of the

definitely not living in a world where we can keep everything a secret. English author George
Orwell wrote his novel 1984 in the years following World War II. The book envisions a society
dominated by a totalitarian government, known as Big Brother, that monitors peoples every move
through television like screens in homes, offices, and businesses. Citizens have no privacy and
expect none as ubiquitous posters remind them that Big Brother is watching you. (Introduction, 1)

The government can listen into phone calls, the red light cameras that they have can trace a car,
and not only can they listen in on your cars, but they can also get the exact pinpoint location of
your cell phone. As for people s jobs, this quote explains just exactly what they do, A 2000 study
of human resources professionals at more than seven hundred companies revealed that 74 percent
of employers monitor workers Internet use at work; 72 percent check their employees e mails;
and 51 percent review employees phone calls. (Introduction, 2) With that being said, it is clear that
not only at home can your privacy be invaded, but at work also, and even while you are in your

Truman Show Equality
The Truman show is an American science fiction film produced in 1998, directed by Peter Weir,
and starring Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank, who is unknowingly starring in a produced by a
man known as Christof, who is played by Ed Harris. The movie aims a satirical barb at the rapidly
expanding influence of the media, and this is apparent through the relationship between Christof
and Truman, and how the media, if unchecked, could remove the very notion of privacy, and
render it a long forgotten moral value. Christof was in no way right to prevent Truman entering the
real world, as it was wrong to deny Truman his freedom, it was selfish and morally unjust to put
Truman s own feelings, rights and happiness second to his show s successfulness, and... Show more

There are numerous examples of this throughout the film, however an explicit and rather
symbolic one was nearing the end of the movie, when Truman had finally conquered his fears,
and reached the end of the world. It is at this point that Christof projects his voice to Truman
from above the clouds, where the spiritual residence of a God, or indeed Gods are symbolized to
be. This might well have been done to add to the sense of awe that Truman undoubtedly felt upon
realizing that his world was not indeed the real world but rather, an artificially created one, and
one that had been designed by the man that was now talking to him, the man that even as he first
directly speaks to Truman, takes the mantle and position of God. By doing so, Christof may have
attempted to exert a subliminal form of influence over Truman, in order to better persuade him. His
very first words to Truman, in response to Truman s question about his identity, further reinforces
this notion: I am the creator of a television show that gives hope and joy and inspiration to

The Tet Offensive
Many people still ask why America invaded Vietnam yet why it did not win the war, against the
spread of communism. Instead, many U.S. soldiers lost their lives, but they managed to destroy a
country s economy, which was starting to show recovery from the French colonial control. Back in
the late 1940s, American involvement in Vietnam was driven by the Cold War
, in an effort to
contain communism, as expressed by the Domino Theory. America s military invasion into
Vietnam came in the 1960s, in an effort to protect the Southern region from the invasion of the
communist North authority. Nevertheless American troops were being overpowered by a peasant
Vietnam army who had the support of Communist China and Soviet Union. Modern Vietnam is still

According to a report in the Encyclopedia Britannica, engaging in Vietnam War made the US to
spend about $200 billion while 171,331 South Vietnamese soldiers died in combat between
1965 and 1972. However, these figures are not exact, as little is known of the number of
Vietnamese soldiers and civilians who lost their lives during the war. By 1967, the number of
casualties was 15,058 while 109, 527 had been wounded. The overall casualties among the US
military officers were in excess of 55,000. The campaign had an influence on the presidential
elections in 1968, where President Johnson declared that he would not offer himself for reelection.
Electorates had already begun to rally their support behind anti war candidates. President Nixon
managed to withdraw all the US soldiers from Vietnam to avoid more criticism from the

A Research Study On Vascular Imaging
Introduction
Vascular ultrasound (US) is an established non invasive method of imaging the cardiovascular
system. It is cheap, accessible and provides a rapid diagnosis of many vascular diseases such as
presence of abdominal aortic aneurysm, deep vein thrombosis and limb arterial occlusions. The
majority of vascular ultrasound currently done in the UK is trans cutaneous ultrasound, in which
the US probe obtains images of the vessels from above the skin.
In recent years intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) has gained popularity in obtaining high resolution
images of the blood vessels from inside the vascular lumen, providing detailed information of the
vascular lesions and their anatomy.
In this review, utilisation of IVUS in different areas of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The standard IVUS sheaths are 9 Fr with a 0.035 inch guidewire, however 0.014 inch catheters are
available for smaller arteries (Kpodonu et al., 2008).
Once inside the target vessel, IVUS obtains 360 degrees cross sectional images. The sonic wave
reflections from the arterial wall differ depending on the structure of the arterial wall
components. Collagen and elastin produce a stronger sonic reflection thus a hyper echoic picture
of the intima and adventitia, whilst the smooth muscle cells in the media produce a hypo echoic
picture due to reduced sonic reflection from these structures (Kpodonu et al., 2008). New
generation IVUS devices can produce three dimensional pictures by stacking the two dimensional
axial images during pull back of the US catheter. The pull back could be done either manually or
mechanically using a motor. 3 D images are useful in assessment of endovascular device
deployment failures, which might not be detected in conventional angiographies. 3 D images are
also helpful in sizing of the arteries and veins for endovascular device planning (Weissman et al.,
1995; Heuser et al., 1997).
IVUS can provide B mode and colour images from inside the vessels. The transducers
frequencies are generally between 10 MHz and 40MHz (Lee and White, 2004). New generation
IVUS with frequencies of 40MHz to 50MHz are useful for imaging the coronary arteries (Lee and
White, 2004).
Although higher frequencies can produce higher resolution images, this would

A International Company s Workers Human Rights Through...
Introduction Globalization is defined as the act of globalizing, or extending to other or all parts of
the world. In other words, globalization is that the world has experienced two great waves of
gobalization driven by the free trade policies of major trading countries and falling transportation
costs.
The first wave was from roughly the down of the Industrial Revolution in the 19 Century to World
War I, and the second has run since 1947. International trade and international migration grew
substantially during the first wave, but world trade increased even more rapidly during the first 25
years of the World War II wave. Both periods of gobalization faced significant suspicion about the
results of globalization for labor conditions. (Globalization and Labor Conditions, Robert J.
Flanagan, 2006)
Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to compare the international company s workers human
rights through the influence of the international trade.
Over the past decade, China has been an attractive destination for global corporations due to its low
wage rates and labor laws that disallow independent trade unions and limit the right to strike.
Recently, Chinese industrial workers have been pushing back, demanding better wages, hours and
working conditions. Collective action by Chinese workers, including strikes, has been successful in
many cases and is bringing Chinese employers to the bargaining table As a result, China s industrial

Allelopathy Affects Germination of Radish Seeds Essay
Introduction This experiment is designed to test the allelopathy of two different treatments,
Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus cinerea) and Lemon (Citrus limon). The two treatments will be tested on
radish seeds (Raphanus sativus) to investigate the effect of the treatments on the germination of the
radish seeds. Allelopathy is the beneficial or harmful effects that one plant has on another plant by
the release of chemicals. Allelopathy studies the interactions among plants, fungi, algae and
bacteria with the organisms living in a certain ecosystem, interactions that are mediated by the
secondary metabolites produced and exuded into the environment (Francisco A MacГas, JosГ©

In the dishes, I dropped the appropriate treatment into the center, where the marks were made. Next,
I closed the petri dishes, taped them up, and let them sit at room temperature for a week. Then I
opened them up to take two measurements. The first measurement was the number of seeds
germinated. The second measurement was to measure the seedling lengths.
Results All five groups recorded the outcomes that they established. For our bench, we found that
nine raddish seeds in the control dish, zero raddish seeds in the eucalyptus dish, and four radish
seeds in the lemon dish germinated and sprouted. Our bench also found that the average seed
length for the control was thirty one millimeters, for the Eucalyptus was zero. and for the Lemon
was eight and a half. Below, is a chart and graph that shows the whole data as averages from all
five benches. Each bench did the exact same experiment so we knew nothing would be biased.

Argumentary On Animals And Animal Rights
Devon: Hey Sasha!
Sasha: Hey Devon!
Devon: That class was crazy! There was so much information regarding animal rights...
Sasha: I know. But I don t know if any of that changed my views. I still think becoming a
vegetarian is the way to go.
Devon: You think? I still think that it is okay to eat meat. The animalsjust need to be raised in a
humane manner.
Sasha: Eh...I don t know. Animals should just be left alone and be free to roam around in the wild.
They should not be tortured like those animals that I saw while visiting that kill floor .
Devon: But Sasha, it is not like that everywhere. I agree that they should not be tortured like the
ones you saw on your field trip, but they still can live a good life on a farm and be treated with ...

Devon: I can agree with that too! So, when animals are on the farm, they really don t know what s
going to come in the future. Also, if they do get hurt, they are able to get over it quickly and not sit
there and think about the pain.
Sasha: But it still bothers me that they are not getting treated the same way as humans. I
remember in Peter Singers article when he talked about the idea of speciesism. He said that it was
an attitude of bias that favored the interest of members of their own species (4). The one species is
against the other species.
Devon: Well, I can see how that is a good argument.
Sasha: And the fact that we treat these animals based on intelligence is also ridiculous. Just because
a dog does not understand what it means to vote, society should not consider it less intelligent than
us. It is a living thing that deserves the best life.
Devon: Okay, but Sasha, you have to also remember that these animals do depend on us to
continue to live a good life. Without us, they would be put in the wild and be put at risk of dying
fast. In Pollan s article, he discussed how animals live longer in captivity and how domesticated
animals can t live on their own in the wild (6). Yeah, they will not be living the absolute free life,
but they will be protected and nourished if needed.
Sasha: Hmmm I never really noticed that. But, do you see how these animals are being treated like
a tool? In Regan s article, he said that animals should not be treated as a means

Precipitation Levels and the Affects to Beak Size
The experiment demonstrates the affect of precipitation levels to the beak size of finches on
Darwin Island and Wallace Island. The levels of rainfall not only affectthe beak sizes of the finches
but also the population over time. The experiments were conducted over a period of three
hundred years. The parameters remained constant over the three hundred year span to determine
the effect of more or less precipitation on the food sources for the finches. The level of rainfall
controls the types of seeds the birds eat. More rainfall creates smaller, softer seeds. Less ... Show

The size of Wallace Island was increased from 0.5 km to 1.0 km. and no change to the
precipitation level. Darwin Island size remained the same at 0.5 km but the level of
precipitation was increased from 20.0 cm to 50.0 cm. The experiment was conducted over a
three hundred year span with the same parameters to measure the affects to beak size over time.
The last experiment parameter changes were also to the island size and precipitation levels.
Darwin and Wallace Island size were increased from 0.5 km to 1.0 km. However, the
precipitation levels were changed to 40.0 cm from 20.0 cm on Darwin Island and reduced on
Wallace Island from 20.0 cm to 10.0 cm. This experiment provided the most drastic results in
beak size over a three hundred year span. The populations of the birds were almost the same
number after two hundred years. But, the beak sizes were markedly dissimilar. According to the
data, in the year 2210, the population of both islands had a difference of only 19 birds. However,
the beak size for the Darwin Island finches was 19.93 mm and the Wallace Island finches had beak
sizes of 24.29 mm.

The Gender Payage Gap In Professional Sports
The gender wage gap in professional sports is much higher than most people think and it s not
going to end anytime soon. Women make half of what the Men make, if not less. In the NBA,
the average salary is $4,500,000.00 and in the WNBA the average salary is $72,000.00. In the
professional basketball aspect, WNBA players earn 4,428,000.00 less, or not even 2 percent of
what NBA players earn. In the 2014 15 NBA season, the highest paid athlete, Kobe Bryant, made
$23,500,000.00 and in 2013, the highest paid WNBA player was only paid 107,000.00, but that
salary can only be reached after so many years of playing in the league (a look at). Professional golf
is another sport with a rather high wage gap. The PGA average salary is around $973,000.00,
whereas the LPGA average salary is $162,000.00, meaning that femaleprofessional golfers make
about $811,000.00 less than the professional malegolfer (a look at). Now the wage gap in Tennis is
interesting, because women have a higher average salary, however, the top female player makes
less than 54% of what the top male player makes. Soccer (MLS and NWSL), Hockey (NHL and
NWHL), the U.S. Women s Hockey team, and the U.S. Women s Soccer team are more examples
of where the wage gap is present, and talked about frequently. In March of 2017, the U.S. National
Women s Hockey team said they would sit out of the International Ice HockeyFederation World
Championship that would take place later in the month. They threatened this because they wanted
more money, which is well deserved, but USA Hockey (USAH) wasn t willing to make a deal.
The athletes were asking for a $68,000.00 salary rather than their original $24,000.00 that USAH
set. The women wanted more because the only money the players get from USA Hockey comes
during the six month period leading up to the Olympics CNN Money reported. The organization
hasn t offered the women any money for the time the team spends training, competing and making
public appearances for USA Hockey outside that six month time frame, a team spokesperson said.
(Ohikuare, Judith).
In the end, the Women won, they signed a four year agreement that includes childcare, maternity
leave, more time playing throughout the year,

It is derived mainly from ancient, traditional methods of healing that have often been practiced in the East for centuries. These include a variety of techniques from herbal healing to acupuncture to homeopathy to energy channeling. Due to the large number of methods that are covered by the term, there are various definitions of Holistic Medicine. An increasing number of medical schools are now offering courses in alternative medicine for their students, and some hospitals already have alternative medicine departments. The availability of healers and doctors practicing holistic medicine has also increased in recent years, and more and more people are educating themselves in these new fields. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that between 65 and 80 percent of the world s population (about 3 billion people) rely on traditional medicine as their primary form of health care. Because many of the treatments of alternative medicine do not adhere to the principles of conventional medicine, whether or not to allow practice of these techniques in the United States is a major concern of the medical community today. The Food and Drug Administration is the decision making body of issues such as this and more often than not, does not approve many of these practices. Due to the fact that holistic medicine sometimes contradicts the fundamentals of biomedicine, health care regulation boards such as the FDA find it difficult to accept many of these treatments. Because the Western world is so unfamiliar with these techniques it is only natural for medical community to often disprove these methods. However, as more and more doctors discover the limitations of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Similarities And Differences Between Oedipus And Jocasta Oedipus and Jocasta seem interesting because how they react to the situations that they are presented upon them. They also share very similar characteristics but yet each are different in the story of Oedipus Rex. Oedipus was going to get to his fate no matter what ways he turned because the curse put upon King Laius. It was the fact that he had been cursed that made it seem more interesting and the circumstances that he would bring upon himself. Jocastaalso could ve been cursed along King Laius and her role to stop the oracle from happening was what brought the plot forward from the start. Oedipusflaw characteristics that stood out were anger, cowardness, pride, fear, willfulness, and deniable. His anger most of the time would get the best of him and in the most desperate times also. Twilight Of The Idols Essay In Twilight of the Idols Nietzsche writes, My objection against the whole of sociology in England and France remains that it knows from experience only the forms of decay, and with perfect innocence accepts its instincts of decay as the norm of sociological value judgments. The decline of life, the decrease in the power to organize, that is to tear open clefts, subordinate and super ordinate all this has been formulated as the ideal in contemporary sociology. (p 541). The culture of Europe at the time of Nietzsche s writing was experiencing a general decline in vitality which was exemplified in Christianity (Platonism) and anarchy or nihilism. The Christian is a nihilist in that they reject the only kind of life possible in the here and now, and in this rejection they undercut the possibility of the only type of meaning that ever was or ever will be available to man. They hate the world in which they are what they are, so they desire a world ruled by the mediocre. Throughout Twilight of the Idols, it is apparent that Nietzsche felt that when the weakest portions of society band together, perverting and distorting the natural order, the situation becomes nihilism. Christianity is a symptom of this tendency, but in the example of Socrates we have the typical model of the slave revolt against master morality and the most significant aspect of modern nihilism. The most important thing to know about Socrates, according to Nietzsche, is that he was ugly. This physiological fact accounts for his entire orientation towards life in the Greek Polis. He sought to take revenge upon the beautiful culture of the Greeks, and in a masterful departure from nature, he developed the art of logical arguments. It was in the practice of logic and argumentation that Socrates saw his opportunity to overpower the authority of those around him and to thus secure a position of moral superiority to them. Anyone can learn logic, and since logic is directly opposed to unsubstantiated appeals to authority, Socrates and his followers were advocates of a kind of a type of nihilism which invited ... That view is reinforced anew every spring, when companies file their financial statements and we learn how much CEOs were paid last year. In 2003 the average pay for CEOs at 200 of the largest U.S. companies was $11.3 million but there are a good number whose compensation packages approach the $100 million mark. Faced with these figures, Americans from all walks of life who revile CEOs as greedy fat cats are overcome with bewilderment and indignation. • 13. The Divine World And The Human World Everywhere we look we see people searching for greater significance in this world and in themselves. This quest sometimes leads to establishing or changing one s identity. Developing into an individual is the process defined as personhood. Personhood is a straight forward concept applicable to everyone except JesusChrist. Personhood becomes problematic with Jesus because of His documented dual nature being fully divine and fully human. Jesus dual nature has generated a significant amount of controversy throughout history. The intention of this essay is to explore the personhood of Jesus which will confirm His dual nature was not only valid but also required for humankind s salvation. An estimated 64% of all people today believe that they have a soul or spirit. Based on this statistic people believe that there is a distinct difference between a divine world and the human world. Division of worlds implies a crossroads making heaven divine and earth human, The spirit of man is the meeting point of two worlds, the divine world and the human world (Turincev, 2013, p.58). This degree of separation between the divine and human only attributes to the complexity in understanding the personhood of Jesus. If we have distinctly different vicinities for the divine and humans then the concept of one individual possessing both attributes at the same time problematic at best. Personhood, by definition, is the condition of being an individual person. This definition is singular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even Frank, when he had to deliver an urgent message, ran as fast as he possibly could, even while being fired at, to try and save Archy s life. Even Archy and Frank s commanding officer, without needing to, stood up and went over the trenches, saying he wouldn t expect the men to do something he wouldn t do himself. He wrote this book either at Charlemagne s son King Louis court or at one of his numerous properties throughout the Frankish kingdom. Based on the didactic nature of the document and Einhard s own saying that the book is for the sake of posterity it is likely that his writing was either meant as a historical book concerning the life of King Charlemagneto be used by further generations or, more likely based on the type of information provided, meant to be a guide for future kings such as Louis on how to be a good and proper king of as high a quality as the highly praised Charlemagne. Einhard was the foster son of Louis father, Charlemagne, and it appears that Einhard was trying to use their mutual father figure to set an example for Louis because Louis kingdom was unstable. However, courtiers of the time knew that they could not outright insult King Louis actions, therefore Einhard needed a way to communicate his constructive criticisms to the king without being forthright about his contempt for Louis and his behaviour. Stimuli responsive and self regulating drug delivery systems have captured the imagination of researchers, in large part because they suggest a means to mimic the physiological homeostatic feedback mechanisms that are essential for health. As dysregulation of homeostasis is a feature of many diseases such as diabetes and cancer. 1.Introduction: Conventional drug delivery systems (DDSs) are often accompanied by systemic side effects that mainly are attributed to their nonspecific bio distribution and uncontrollable drug release characteristics. To overcome these limitations, advanced controlled DDSs have been developed to achieve the release of payloads at the target sites in a spatial controlled manner. Commercially available controlled release devices offer several advantages, e.g. they maintain the drug within the desired therapeutic range with just a single dose, they allow localized drug delivery which ultimately may reduce the need for follow up care, they preserve drugs that are rapidly destroyed by the body and ultimately improve patient compliance. Musculoskeletal Markers On The Shoulders MUSCULOSKELETAL MARKERS ON THE SHOULDERS By: Dustin Shinkle ANTH 3420 University of Northern Iowa Fall 2016 Abstract The purpose of this paper is to better inform the readers what stress markers are and what they are able to tell an anthropologist about a person. The reason that this is important is that it can help identify specific traits of how the person lived their life and a potential understanding of their work. In reading this paper you will hopefully have a better understanding how sex, age, and lifestyles can influence stress markers on bones of the shoulder joints. Introduction: Musculoskeletal stress markers can be found at the origin and insertion points of a muscle on a bone . These areas are known also as an enthesis. When using a muscle, a muscle will constrict and tighten, pulling at the origin and insertion point creating more blood flow to these areas so that they can create osteoblast as over time the bone that the muscle is attached to will diminish over time if not restructured. Over time the amount of osteoblast tends to dwindle creating more stress markers left on the bone. • 37. Women s Struggle For Equality Women in American society have endured numerous struggles to fight for equality throughout history. Today American women have come a long way by narrowing gender gaps and becoming successful in aspects of life that are prominently male dominated. Although American women are living a better life than they were years ago, they still deal with inequality when it comes to the workforce, income, politics, domestic duties, and sex. The reason women are not equal to men in these aspects of life are because men hold most of the jobs in the STEM fields of work, make higher incomes than women in the same level of employment, dominate congress and the government, not looked upon to take care of the house duties, and are praised for sex rather than shamed like women are. Living as an American woman today is far from difficult but in contrast, living as an American man is still substantially better. Women have dealt with constant battles in the workplace but the most important was the ability to work alongside men in any field of employment. As stated in the article, Women in the Professional Workplace by Jennifer Dorning, the status for women in the workforce has improved over the last several decades, but many women still struggle for equality in many occupations (Dorning). For example, women are extremely underrepresented in the fields of science, technology development, and engineering making up only 20% of the people employed in these particular categories (Pinker). James s Minty Alley Born in Trinidad and later expatriating himself first to London and then the United States, C.L.R. James was a key figure of the West Indian literary scene during the 1930s. Today he is primarily associated with his nonliterary writings in sociology and politics, and his fiction seems to have dropped from critical attention. Part of this shortsightedness stems from the fact that little of his fiction is readily available to a reading public in this country. In part, my desired shift of critical focus is a response against the predominant tendency in Anglo American literary studies of underestimating the formal experimentation of early twentieth century Caribbean writing. Critics tend to construct narratives in which British, American, and continental European writers set the standard for and carry out the work of producing modernist experimentation. Those few critics who have turned their attention to James fiction continue to follow suit of this general critical trend. Paget Henry and Paul Buhle have remarked that this author s value lies in his status as an anti colonial writer, an identity that they believe to be affirmed by Minty Alley because of the careful artistic representation [that it] gives to the lives of working class Trinidadians and its affirmation of the creative self projections that such individuals established in relation to their world (122). James did envision his novel as a populist one, affirming his own mothers s adage that [t]o write forblack people in the Caribbean was a distinction (James interviewedin Henry and Buhle 57). • 41. 1984 By George Orwell Essay On Privacy Privacy issues have been an ongoing problem in our world for a long time now, and recently it has been even worse with all the new technology that has come out in the past few decades. In 1984 written by George Orwell, privacy is one of the main issues of the entire plot. All of the people were watched through telescreens, which could never be shut off. Everyone is forced to live out in the open under the view of the government, and their words are very closely listened to. If anyone breaks the rules of the government or tries to live with privacythey are either punished or killed. Although our world is not that extreme when it comes to an invasion of privacy, we are definitely not living in a world where we can keep everything a secret. English author George Orwell wrote his novel 1984 in the years following World War II. The book envisions a society dominated by a totalitarian government, known as Big Brother, that monitors peoples every move through television like screens in homes, offices, and businesses. Truman Show Equality The Truman show is an American science fiction film produced in 1998, directed by Peter Weir, and starring Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank, who is unknowingly starring in a produced by a man known as Christof, who is played by Ed Harris. The movie aims a satirical barb at the rapidly expanding influence of the media, and this is apparent through the relationship between Christof and Truman, and how the media, if unchecked, could remove the very notion of privacy, and render it a long forgotten moral value. Christof was in no way right to prevent Truman entering the real world, as it was wrong to deny Truman his freedom, it was selfish and morally unjust to put Truman s own feelings, rights and happiness second to his show s successfulness, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are numerous examples of this throughout the film, however an explicit and rather symbolic one was nearing the end of the movie, when Truman had finally conquered his fears, and reached the end of the world. It is at this point that Christof projects his voice to Truman from above the clouds, where the spiritual residence of a God, or indeed Gods are symbolized to be. This might well have been done to add to the sense of awe that Truman undoubtedly felt upon realizing that his world was not indeed the real world but rather, an artificially created one, and one that had been designed by the man that was now talking to him, the man that even as he first directly speaks to Truman, takes the mantle and position of God. By doing so, Christof may have attempted to exert a subliminal form of influence over Truman, in order to better persuade him. His very first words to Truman, in response to Truman s question about his identity, further reinforces this notion: I am the creator of a television show that gives hope and joy and inspiration to ... It is cheap, accessible and provides a rapid diagnosis of many vascular diseases such as presence of abdominal aortic aneurysm, deep vein thrombosis and limb arterial occlusions. The majority of vascular ultrasound currently done in the UK is trans cutaneous ultrasound, in which the US probe obtains images of the vessels from above the skin. In this review, utilisation of IVUS in different areas of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The standard IVUS sheaths are 9 Fr with a 0.035 inch guidewire, however 0.014 inch catheters are available for smaller arteries (Kpodonu et al., 2008). Once inside the target vessel, IVUS obtains 360 degrees cross sectional images. The sonic wave reflections from the arterial wall differ depending on the structure of the arterial wall components. Collagen and elastin produce a stronger sonic reflection thus a hyper echoic picture of the intima and adventitia, whilst the smooth muscle cells in the media produce a hypo echoic picture due to reduced sonic reflection from these structures (Kpodonu et al., 2008). New generation IVUS devices can produce three dimensional pictures by stacking the two dimensional axial images during pull back of the US catheter. The pull back could be done either manually or mechanically using a motor. 3 D images are useful in assessment of endovascular device deployment failures, which might not be detected in conventional angiographies. 3 D images are also helpful in sizing of the arteries and veins for endovascular device planning (Weissman et al., 1995; Heuser et al., 1997). IVUS can provide B mode and colour images from inside the vessels. The transducers frequencies are generally between 10 MHz and 40MHz (Lee and White, 2004). • 46. A International Company s Workers Human Rights Through... Introduction Globalization is defined as the act of globalizing, or extending to other or all parts of the world. In other words, globalization is that the world has experienced two great waves of gobalization driven by the free trade policies of major trading countries and falling transportation costs. The first wave was from roughly the down of the Industrial Revolution in the 19 Century to World War I, and the second has run since 1947. International trade and international migration grew substantially during the first wave, but world trade increased even more rapidly during the first 25 years of the World War II wave. Both periods of gobalization faced significant suspicion about the results of globalization for labor conditions. (Globalization and Labor Conditions, Robert J. Flanagan, 2006) Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to compare the international company s workers human rights through the influence of the international trade. Over the past decade, China has been an attractive destination for global corporations due to its low wage rates and labor laws that disallow independent trade unions and limit the right to strike. Recently, Chinese industrial workers have been pushing back, demanding better wages, hours and working conditions. • 52. The Gender Payage Gap In Professional Sports The gender wage gap in professional sports is much higher than most people think and it s not going to end anytime soon. Women make half of what the Men make, if not less. In the NBA, the average salary is $4,500,000.00 and in the WNBA the average salary is $72,000.00. In the professional basketball aspect, WNBA players earn 4,428,000.00 less, or not even 2 percent of what NBA players earn. In the 2014 15 NBA season, the highest paid athlete, Kobe Bryant, made $23,500,000.00 and in 2013, the highest paid WNBA player was only paid 107,000.00, but that salary can only be reached after so many years of playing in the league (a look at). Professional golf is another sport with a rather high wage gap. The PGA average salary is around $973,000.00, whereas the LPGA average salary is $162,000.00, meaning that femaleprofessional golfers make about $811,000.00 less than the professional malegolfer (a look at). Now the wage gap in Tennis is interesting, because women have a higher average salary, however, the top female player makes less than 54% of what the top male player makes. Soccer (MLS and NWSL), Hockey (NHL and NWHL), the U.S. Women s Hockey team, and the U.S. Women s Soccer team are more examples of where the wage gap is present, and talked about frequently. In March of 2017, the U.S. National Women s Hockey team said they would sit out of the International Ice HockeyFederation World Championship that would take place later in the month. They threatened this because they wanted more money, which is well deserved, but USA Hockey (USAH) wasn t willing to make a deal.
