Disadvantages Of Deep Learning
Deep Learning which developed as a Machine Learning approach has become very popular nowadays.
It helps in dealing with complex problem with a greater understanding. Traditional Machine Learning
model used to solve problems successfully where final output was a simple function of input data,
whereas Deep Learning can capture composite relations. Deep Learning is basically learning data
representations which is all about making things and presenting to real audiences. In order to master
the various aspects of Deep Learning one requires proficiency of core academic content, critical
thinking, analytical thinking and self directed learning. It consists of mathematical models, which can
be termed as composition of same type of functions wherein some of the functions can be changed so
as to predict the final value. Human computer interactions are based on the belief of ... Show more

Some of these models need input parameter from the user, thus are heuristically designed and hence
performance might depend on characteristic of parameters and input image. Some of the new learning
based methods overcome above problems and give solutions to complex problems. It is for this reason
that deep neural networks have recently seen an impressive comeback. CNN (Convolutional Neural
Network) used in Deep learning for image restoration, works by averaging out the output of various
trained network to the same input. Neural Networks have numerous application in several areas of
image processing. It is used for classifying the image and the mathematical analysis of CNN operates
feature extraction first and then give the results to trainable classifier. This model works by training
the network to reconstruct high quality images from degraded or blurred input images. The model
gives promising results from the learned set of denoisers and also can be used for low level
applications to deliver high performance

The Woman’s Christian Temperance Union and the Creation...
The Woman s Christian Temperance Union and the Creation of a Politicized Female Reform Culture
In 1879, a group of evangelical churchwomen, all members of the Illinois Woman s Christian
Temperance Union (WCTU), presented to their state legislature a massive petition asking that Illinois
women be granted the right to vote. The architect of this ambitious petition campaign, which resulted
in 180,000 signatures of support, was Frances Willard, then president of the Illinois WCTU. In using
her position as a prominent WCTU leader to agitate for enfranchisement of women, Willard went
against the express commands of the National WCTU and its president, Annie Wittenmeyer, who had
made clear only one year earlier that the WCTU would not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Difficult because, as the early suffrage battles indicated, the membership was as varied as it was large.
Many WCTU chapters especially those in small towns and those in the South were narrowly focused
gospel temperance societies. Using moral suasion (e.g., affecting change through religion and
education rather than through politics), these chapters concentrated on ending the sale and
manufacture of alcohol at the local level. But other WCTUs especially those in the North and in urban
areas were highly politicized organizations committed to wide spread societal reform. WCTU leaders
needed to build a national organization that made space for both these extremes.
Between 1874 and 1879, the NWCTU was led by Annie Wittenmyer, an ex Civil War nurse and a
staunch anti suffragist. During her presidency, WCTU women were encouraged to hold prayer
meetings, organize and educate children about the dangers of alcohol, circulate temperance pledges,
do home missionary work among the poor and supposedly intemperate, and make their own homes
more attractive in order to counteract the lure of the saloon. Although Wittenmyer voiced the belief
that the world will halt or move in its onward march towards millennial glory, as we [women] halt or
march, she nonetheless cautioned women to be thoughtful and prayerful as

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Ssdm
SSADM is an analysis and design methodology that follows a structural tactic for Implementation of a
system. In the beginning of 80th of the past century this method was developed for government of
Great Britain. In 1993 it was accepted as the national standard of Great Britain and as a reason the
SSADM usage is expedient for those who work with governmental organizations and this method is a
standard for these organizations.
Unlike the conventional approach SSADM is DATA driven and data modeling begins very early in the
development of Information system. . SSADM may also represent the document led approach to
system design, and can be contrasts with Rapid Application Development Method such as Dynamic
System Development Model (DSDM).
Assumptions are as follows:
* business methods change often
* IS processes will need to reflect changes
* Underlying data in the system changes very little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Advantage of SSADM
Timelines: On the whole SSADM allows for the chance to plan, direct and control a project well.
Usability: emphasizes the analysis of user requirements. Additionally system model will be developed
and a helpful analysis will be carried out. It has got an ability to change in business environment.
Documentation of project development is recorded critically and this helps to address the planning of
the project to the actual requirement of the business.
Effective use of skill: It can be easily taught to employees because it does not need a special expertise.
Better quality: It helps to cut mistakes of information system by telling a certain quality level in the
beginning and often reviewing the new system.
SSADM increases the overall productivity of the project and the organization by meeting business
needs, ensures better quality, improving on the dot delivery and engaging human resources
successfully.

The Failure Of Risk Management
Hubbard is very contemptuous of much of the Risk Management practiced by organisations. Do you
agree with his comments and suggested methods of managing analysis of risks?
In The failure of risk management why it s broken and how to fix Hubbard has put a very good
argument regarding the failure of old risk management techniques. Hubbard has tried to show how the
risk management methodologies and techniques used currently by many organisation lack scientific
and mathematical approach towards risk management.
Hubbard has asked 3 basic questions in his book based on the several risk management methodologies
1. Do these risks management methods work?
2. Dose the organisation s using these methods know if these methods didn t work?
3. What are the consequences if they didn t work?
In my opinion Hubbard has put the very strong argument in his book, as many organisations have
adopted risk management systems. But the problem is, the systems are not backed up by measurable
scientific results and often can actually make things worse. After reading the text I don t think that
Hubbard is being contemptuous of the risk management practices but he is trying to identifying new
ways of better utilising these methods.
After reading the book we can see that Hubbard is a strong advocate of quantitative risk management
techniques such as Monty Carlo simulation. However, he believes that they are often used incorrectly.
Specifically,
1. They are often used without empirical data or validation

Ever since I understood what the military was as a child,...
Ever since I understood what the military was as a child, I wanted to be a Soldier. I wanted to defend
and disseminate our nation s ideals by assisting others in what my nation knew was right. As I grew in
the Army as an enlisted member, I decided to become a military officer. Although as a young man I
may have made a righteous, albeit impulsive, decision to enlist; the decision to become an officer was
not made at all lightly. Witnessed through my experience in the Army, I realize that I am observed
differently by society as an officer. With this, as much as I have endured, my responsibilities as a
Soldier would inherently change from this point forward. As a Soldier, I want to be a defender of my
country while helping other nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is imperative that my actions are not only expressed as honorable or virtuous, but interpreted that
way as well. The people of America trust that the officer corps is a vested authority in which they
depend upon for the welfare and lives of their children. Without the support of every officer serving as
a role model for their subordinates, society will expect less from our military officers, weakening the
military as a whole. Transitioning from enlisted to officer is an achievement that results in an
increased awareness of responsibility. A few of these conceptions are: take care of Soldiers prior to
taking care of myself; plan my career accordingly in order to progress; and to develop people, making
the most of their talents. It is imperative to care for your Soldiers first in order for them to be ready to
take care of the mission. As an officer, I will be giving the orders, but the Soldiers need to be ready
and able to accomplish the task. To ensure I progress in my career, I need to plan for it. Serving and
excelling in my assigned position is only part of setting myself apart from my peers; as an officer, it is
expected that I become an expert at my current position, then educate myself in order to qualify for the
next better job. The best leaders are able to use their tools efficiently to complete a task; the best tools
in all situations are Soldiers. In

The Education System And The Lack Of Education
While reading the research paper, one thing which is clear about the author is that he is someone who
understands the need of education for every individual. He understands the importance of education
and how it can change someone s life completely. Throughout the paper, author tries to force the
reader to understand the education system and the lacking in it. The author has used many references
and is telling people to work hard as it is the key to success, in order to make our country flourish and
better than other we have to educate our own people and this is the thinking of the author. My goal in
this paper is to bring out the facts and present the reality of the writing of the author. In this research
paper, Henderson has come up with a problem which is faces almost by every student in his life, the
problem when he wants to study but he is stuck between job and studies, even if he manages the time
he gets so tired that he is not able to complete his assignments. But suppose that he is also done with
the assignments and he is working really hard day and night and is making sure that he gives time to
his job as well as his studies, he does all this because it s all in his hands that whether he studies hard
or not, he does job or not but at some point he is unable to do anything because it is not in his hands
and that is the bills he has to pay for his own studies.
The author is capable of bringing facts in the light and aware the readers about those facts. He is

Year-Round Schooling Analysis
After reading Year Round Schooling Explained by Jaclyn Zubrzycki, Stop the Summer Slide by Nina
Rees, and Kids Need Year Round Schools to Compete by Anne McFeatters, year round school sounds
like an extraordinary idea for schools. Year round schools seem to be a way to bring in more breaks,
but more schooling involved. Multi week summers end in money loss of parents, and academic loss in
students. Also, year round demonstrates new ideas and concepts of academic success. In Year Round
Schooling Explained by Jaclyn Zubrzycki, I support year round school versus standard school because
of the benefits of impacts from the new school timeline. It impresses me that such a drastic change of
school arrangement can stem summer learning loss, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with the comeback of school we need to Pity our poor teachers who spend every September
reprogramming children to do their homework, spending hours on remedial lessons and waiting until
overtired children readjust to regular bedtimes says McFeatters. She made me realize that schooling
lacks over the summer and forgets to stick for the arrival of school. As stated, teenage workers jobs
have become taken by those whom are unsuccessful adults trying to make a living. Being a teenager, I
plan on trying to get a job, but my education is also in my hands of retaining throughout a summer of
jobs and even summer school to keep up with my schooling to get into more colleges with an
overloaded class agenda. Year round school would keep up with my education, and there would be
more breaks to find jobs here and there to keep up with extra curricular, or even my car. Altogether,
year round school is an idea of success and needs to become more known to keep the nation s
knowledge developing. The more academics a child learns, the more growing of academic maturation.
Although year round school seems time consuming, it is all but a new layout for schools to show off
their intelligence. More jobs will become fulfilled with the new year round impacting on a schedule
known to follow along an entire year. Make more year round schools; it sounds like an extravagant

The Violin is a stringed instrument that is part of the String Family. The Violin produces a range of
harmonics that captivate the audience. Unlike instruments in the Brass, Woodwind, and Percussion
family, The Violin is played with a bow, which causes the string to vibrate at certain frequencies that
travel through the bridge and body of the instrument resulting in a disturbance of air molecules. This
disturbance is the sound that we hear. What makes the Violin so attractive to listeners is the intense yet

Anorexia Nervosa And Bulimia Nervosa
Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa are a few of the most common disorders struggled with today.
Anorexia Nervosa is a condition of the intense fear to gain weight, which results in consistent lack of
eating. Bulimia Nervosa, involves frequent episodes of binge eating followed by throwing up because
of fear of gaining weight. The mortality rate for anorexia is the highest of all mental disorders yet the
genetic factors relating them were not a huge concern to look into. It is easy to think that Anorexia and
Bulimia are mentality induced only, but there are indeed genetic factors related despite how small the
evidence may be. Personality disorders are heritable, and are commonly developed after an eating
disorder or a large reason someone develops one. The study of serotonin, a compound found in
Bulimia, Anorexia and depression, can be passed down through genes and they play a small part in
eating disorders worth acknowledging. Inheriting genes that make an individual athletic naturally can
affect the chances of eating disorder. There is no evidence that one particular gene could cause an
eating disorder, but there are various traits and levels of compounds that when inherited, increase the
likelihood of developing one. Personality disorders are more likely to develop from an eating disorder
and are common preceding factors for one. Individuals exposed to stressful environments who are
genetically more vulnerable, are at risk for developing an eating disorder. Narcissists

The Black Hills Of South Dakota
Lets take a trip back in time to 1884 in the Black Hills of South Dakota. A New York lawyer had just
traveled there to inspect mining claims in that region. The man s name was Charles E. Rushmore.
Rushmore was curious by one of the mountains and asked a towns person what the name of the
mountain was. The towns person replied saying it had no name. From then on Charles Rushmore
started calling it Rushmore Peak. Over time it became known as Mount Rushmore (history.com).
During the following years the area of the Black Hills decided they wanted to start attracting tourist
the region. I the early 1920s the state historian of South Dakota, Doane Robinson, came up with an
idea to attract tourist. He thought of the idea to to carve famous historic heroes of the west into the
side of the mountain (history.com). In 1924, Robinson decided to contact the famous American
sculptor, Gutzon Borgium, about his idea. Borgium at the time was working on another project for
Georgia, but Robinson was able to convince him to abandon his project and come
Before picture of Mount Rushmore to the Black Hills. When Borgium arrived in South Dakota he
suggested that they use George Washington and Abraham Lincoln because of their significance to
America. Later, he also decided to add Thomas Jefferson and Theodore Roosevelt. Robinson and
Borgium both decided that the sculpture would be dedicated to these four men to recognize their
contributions to the birth of democracy and growth of the United States.

Reactivity Of Hcl Acids With Cells Lab Report
Reactivity of the HOCl acids with cells
The reactivity of HOCl has been comprehensively assessed with in a wide range of cellular systems,
including yeast (Carmona Gutierrez et al., 2013) and bacteria (Winterbourne and Kettle, 2013;
Winterbourne et al., 2006; Chapman et al., 2002), together with many studies focused on specific
mammalian cell types and tissues. It is clear from the numerous invitro studies that HOCl is highly
reactive and destructive, inducing cell death via both necrotic and programmed apoptotic pathways,
depending on the oxidant concentration and cell type under study.

Perhaps somewhat paradoxically, the continued exposure of macrophages to HOCl has been shown to
exacerbate the inflammatory response in a number of disease settings, which is particularly relevant
with in the progression of atherosclerosis (Daugherty et al., 1994). It has been shown that exposure of
both murine macrophage cell lines and primary cultures of human monocyte derived macrophages
(HMDMs) to physiologically relevant concentrations of HOCl results in the loss of cell viability. In
early studies employing the murine macrophage cell line P388D1 Schraufstätter and co workers
(Schraufstätter et al., 1990) demonstrated a dose dependent increase in the extent of trypan blue
uptake by the cells that was concurrent with the increased presence of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in
cellular supernatants. Both of these methods are indicative of disruption to the cellular membrane and
are used extensively as surrogate markers of cell death. In these studies, it was shown that exposure of
cells to HOCl concentrations as low as 25 µM decreased cell viability by approximately 20%
compared to controls, with 50 µM HOCl causing up to 50% cell death, and complete cell lysis
observed after exposure to 75 µM HOCl. Although these data were

Neil Shubin s Your Inner Fish
There are many differences present between species in the animal kingdom. There are also many
variations of breeds, mutations within the same species, behavior, etc. Neil Shubin s Your Inner Fish
focuses on the similarities rather than differences of behaviors, variation in animal psychology, and
morphology because of habitat. This book emphasizes three types of evidence. The first are the
similarities between body parts of living creatures to compare common ancestry. The second are the
indications from microbiology to also compare common ancestry. Finally, the details provided of the
missing link between amphibians and fish. In the first couple of chapters of his book, Shubin points
out how organs in various creatures are extremely similar. He focuses in on the resemblances in the
design of the body, hands, heads, nose, eyes, and ears. As Shubin writes, When you look into eyes,

Analyzing Predictors Of Success For Higher Education Among...
Working Title: Examining the History of Standardized Tests in Higher Education through a Critical
Race Lens and Analyzing Predictors of Graduate School Success among African Americans
Theoretical Framework and Proposed Research Study
The theoretical framework chosen to guide my research in analyzing predictors of success in higher
education among African American students is Critical Race Theory (CRT), with an emphasis in
education. Critical Race Theory in Education (CRTE) evolved from CRT, which is derivative of
Critical Legal Studies (CLS), a 1970 s movement which sought to expose and challenge the views that
legal reasoning was neutral, value free, and unaffected by social, and economic relations, political
forces, or culture phenomena (Brown Jackson, 2013, p. 9). CLS scholars successfully confirmed that
personal biases of judges compromised verdicts in legal cases, claiming that America s legal system
only reinforces an oppressive social order benefiting the dominant race more than the oppressed race
(Brown Jackson, 2013). CRTE scholars is indebted to CRT scholars (which is indebted to CLS
scholars), thus scholars of CRTE should be well versed in the history of CRT (and CLS).
History of Critical Race Theory
CRT emerged because of the Supreme Court and federal courts unconstitutional decisions in legal
cases involving discrimination against minorities (Brown Jackson, 2013). Brown and Jackson (2013)

Homer s Journey In A Human Comedy
In the historical novel A Human Comedy by William Saroyan, the main character, Homer went

good in the world too, watching his younger brother enjoy early childhood as he did. I will explain
how Homer went through an emotional journey in this novel. It s mentioned he dealt with the hard
facts of life, he did this due to his job as a telegraph messenger, he delivers messages informing

fight and they hate and there not always a happy ending. It s stupid to criticize people for being as they
are. They won t change their ways and telling them off for such is a waste of time and will lead you to
be just as hateful as them. Homer learns this as an important lesson in the novel and it helps him grow
to becoming a man in ways the other events didn t. And finally, while Homer is going through his
journey, Ulysses is having the same experiences he had when he was a small child, but now Homer
relieves them remember that even though he knows the hardest parts of life he can still enjoy it and

The United States And Soviet Union Essay
The 1980 s were a dynamic time in the life cycle of the Cold War. The early portion of this decade,
which saw massive shifts in the administrations of the United States and Soviet Union, maintained an
atmosphere of suspicion, wariness, and skepticism. This theme of uncertainty and caution was the
logical product of decades of both American and Soviet duplicity, confrontation, and militarization.
Yet, despite this mistrust between the polar Cold War belligerents, and contrary to the early rhetoric of
the Reagan administration, the United States and Soviet Union modified their perceptions of each
other s intentions following 1985 s Reykjavik Summit, which, despite producing no tangible results,
established common desire for arms reduction and a conclusion of the Cold War. This warming of
relations, however, increased at a gradual rate and encountered significant hurdles as the two nations
attempted to limit the potential for thermonuclear war. Ultimately, Ronald Reagan and Mikhail
Gorbachev s dialogue of the eyes transitioned from one administration to the next, while also
weathering significant domestic pressures as the United Soviet Socialist Republic disintegrated.
Doubt and insecurity largely characterized the Cold War in the late 1970s and early stages of the
Reagan presidency. Following the rise and fall of détente, the collapse of the Nixon administration,
and the expansion of alarmist groups such as the Committee on the Present Danger, the Soviet Union

The Effects Of Hellish Interpersonal Characters In No Exit...
Hellish Interpersonal Situations by Peng Su
Situations of unpleasant interactions between people are common even in our societies. At least each
person has at one time has experienced a terrible or unpleasant interaction with another person. In the
play No Exit by Sartre and the poems The Waste Land by Eliot, there are similar unpleasant
interactions depicted. No Exit is a play consisting of three characters Inez, Garcin, and Estelle who are
in hell damned in one room. The characters had thought hell was a place for punishment but rather
found themselves in a room well furnished. However, all the characters refuse to admit to their
damnation reasons. The Waste Land on the other hand is a collection of poems that delve in war,
disillusionment, death, and trauma themes to show the effects of World War I. Therefore, the focus of
this essay is to discuss unpleasant interpersonal situations depicted in the two texts and that are
similar.
In both texts, the characters were frightened by the interactions with the other people. In The Waste
Land in The Burial of the Dead , Marie was frightened when her cousin insisted on taking her on a
sled out in the snow and sliding down the hills (Elliot 5). In No Exit Garcin who was the first person
to be brought in the room by the Valet and was frightened when the Valet left and came with Inez.

Horowitz et al. (2004) found interventions done to date did not benefit from sufficient data in which
potentially modifiable factors are responsible for suboptimal treatment, inadequate self management,
and adverse CHF outcomes. The researcher s perspective on the problem of self managing CHF came
from determining whether a patient understands and perception of CHF demonstrated the features of
the disease, which are important for participation in their own care. According to Polit and Beck

evidence. There are major steps which must be completed in order to properly analyze literature.
Literature review broadens the understanding of a research problem and summarizes the existing body
of knowledge related to the phenomenon of interest. Horowitz et al. (2004) reviewed different sources,
which provided a solid base for this study. The researchers utilized current studies and trials to provide
reliability and validity to their study. The researchers integrated the literature throughout the study,
highlighting clinical guidelines and current thoughts of best practice. Although the majority of
literature reviewed was pertinent and timely, there were several journal articles dating back 15 years,

Six Core Values Of The NASW Code Of Ethics

Lockheed Martin employs roughly 126,000 people in several facilities throughout the world. The

2011, Lockheed Marin is positioned to have a great year. Its 2011 third quarter report shows net sales
at $12.1 billion, compared to the $11.3 billion in third quarter 2010. Continuing operations also grew
19 percent to $665 million, compared to $557 million in 2010. The CEO, Bob Stevens, stated that this
strong third quarter is the result of the company s focus to aggressively reduce costs while still
delivering value and support to its customers. Though there is still challenging global security and
economic issues, Stevens expects continued growth for 2012 (LMC, 2011).

Lockheed Martin Corporation relies heavily on defense contracts from the U.S. Government. In fact,
84 percent of the company s net sales were made through being a prime contractor or subcontractor

of net sales. The remaining net sales come from commercial or other customer sales. A slow economy

Juror Eight In Twelve Angry Men By Reginald Rose
Picture a room with a large table in the center. There is a door, but it is locked. Filling up all the twelve
seats around the table, there are twelve men: jurors debating the murder of a man living near the el
tracks. The man s son is his alleged killer, but one juror is not convinced. This image is from Twelve
Angry Men, a play written by Reginald Rose. The Eighth Juror is being fair to the child, explaining
how there are many what if s in the situation. Juror Eight brings up many different pieces of evidence
and logic to try to understand both sides of the case. He also wants the other jurors to see each side

and these characteristics and his actions impact the story greatly. When the Eighth Juror tried to open
the discussion and give the boy a fair trial, he created the whole story. The entire play would not have
even occurred if not for the Eighth Juror. At the start, all of the jurors wanted to go home. Several even
talk about how they want to get this over with (Rose 7). So, all jurors were willing to vote as quickly
as possible even if it meant that the defendant may not get the fairest hearing. But, the eighth was not
willing to allow this because he wanted a fair trial. So, without the Eighth Juror, would there even be a
story to tell? Most would think not. Juror Eight says many things that make the rest of the jury think a

reasoning, he added to the story and gave the boy a fair chance by questioning whether the story of
everybody involved in the case is definitely true. Furthermore, if the Eighth Juror had not promoted

The British North America Act Of 1867
The British North America Act of 1867 and the subsequent Indian Act of 1876 gave the Canadian
government, under prime minster John A. Macdonald, full control over the nation s Aboriginal people.
The government used this power to establish boarding schools for Aboriginal children. An estimated
144 residential schools operated at different times between the late 1800s and 1996 throughout
Canada. These schools were established with the purpose to enhance assimilation of Aboriginal
children into the Canadian culture of British and French heritage. However, despite these misguided
government attempts lasting more than a century, the Aboriginal culture and civilization could not be
eradicated, and the residential school system as originally conceived proved to be a failure.
Residential schools were religious custodial schools established after 1880 by the Canadian
government in partnership with churches. Through next half century, a system of residential schools
stretching across country developed. The Roman Catholic church ran 3/5 of residential schools, the
Anglican church ¼, and the United and Presbyterian churches controlled the rest. Under the BNAAct
and Indian Acts, the government was responsible for providing Aboriginals with an education as well
as integrating them into Canadian society. Aboriginal leaders also wanted Euro Canadian schooling

Alliteration In Beowulf
Literary devises use utilized by authors to help show common themes as well as tone and symbolism.
The epic poem Beowulf (translated by Seamus Heany) is a three part epic of the Anglo Saxon warrior
Beowulf. First, he brought his warriors to Heorot and to the king Hrothgar to help him get rid of the
monster Grendel. Grendel is a monster, and is very isolated. Beowulf is successful and ends up killing
Grendel, and kills Grendel s mother after she returns an attack. The final part is Beowulf s final fight
with a dragon, in which he dies. Various literary terms are used in Beowulf to help provide themes of
fear of outcasts, the struggle of good and evil, and the difference between isolation and being part of a
tribe.
Kennings and alliteration are utilized to portray a theme of outsiders being evil and dangerous.
Grendel, an outcast of society, is angered by a celebration in the king, Hrothgar s hall. Grendel comes
to Hrothgar s hall every night for twelve years to wreak havoc among the hall and disturb the king.
Beowulf comes to the hall with a group of his men to rid of the monster. Grendel comes at night, filled
with rage and anger to disrupt the happiness of the hall. A kenning is used to alienate Grendel: God
cursed Grendel came greedily loping. / The bane of the race of men roamed forth, (711 712). Anglo
Saxon literature fears the unknown and the dangerous. The kenning of God cursed associates Grendel
with being an outcast, by mentioning that Grendel has been outcast

Role of Private Bankers and Wealth Managers

capable of developing a prudent investment strategy which is customized to best suit an individual

maximize a client s return on investment (ROI) ratios, it is important for wealth managers to perform
due diligence by poring through banking records, transaction histories, investment portfolios, and
other factors of their financial health to determine the optimal money management and investment
strategy for their particular needs. This process is integral to the overall philosophy of Asset Liability
Management (ALM), a term which denotes the adaptation of the portfolio management process to
handle the presence of various constraints relating to the liabilities of an investor (Amenc, Martellini,

Gender Roles In Gender Socialization
Girls and boys both grow up being socialized on what is normal and unusual for their gender. At a
young age they are given the idea of what is expected of them based on whether they are male or
female. Toys are a prominent factor in this socialization, because they are typically presented for one
gender and are unacceptable for the other. To assess how toys play a role in gender socialization, I
made a trip to Toys R Us in College Station and surprisingly found that the gender beliefs have
changed quite a bit since I was a child in the late 90s to early 2000s. The first thing that went through
my mind when walking into the store was to look for the Girls and Boys signs that would indicate to
me which section was for which gender. There weren t any signs though! Toys R Us had their aisles
organized by categories such as arts crafts, travel systems, learning education, bikes wheels, sports,
and fun. In order to determine what aisle may be targeted to one gender, I looked at what types of toys
were in the aisles and what were the dominant colors in each aisle. The aisles I assumed to be for girls
were filled with lots of pink while boy aisles had darker colors such as blue, green, orange, and dark
purple. The majority of girl toys were composed of beauty sets, dress up, and dolls whereas boy toys
were super heroes, Legos, tools, and vehicles. There wasn t a huge selection in gender neutral toys, but
the ones offered were more on the educational side. Most of the

Although men had ruled the earth for years together, the male gender is highly susceptible so far heart
disease is concerned . More men are living with and dying of Coronary Heart Disesse (CHD) than
women and have more hospital discharges for Cardiovascular disease ( CVD ) and CHD. The
prevalence of CHD is higher in men within each age stratum until after 75 years of age, which may
contribute to the perception that heart disease is a man s disease.
The classic risk factors for CVD are the same in women and men, but there are gender differences in
the prevalence of risk factors. Dr Bernadine Healy first introduced the concept of the Yentl syndrome
in 1991, suggesting gender bias in the management of CHD.

Individuality In The Pedestrian And Fahrenheit 451 By Ray...
In life, it is commonly stated that A man who doesn t think for himself, does not think at all. This
statement is supported in The Pedestrian and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. In Fahrenheit 451 the
main character finds himself bound to the expectations of society and robotically follows every order
that is given to him without second thoughts. This leads to him being unknowingly unhappy and
having a hollow existence. But as the story progressed the main character became more aware of the
person that he truly was, and when he had finally discovered that person, he was truly happy. On the
contrary, In The Pedestrian a lone individual who is different from society is able to think for himself,
thus giving him freedom from the bonds of society and the ability to embrace his individuality.

Early Onset Alzheimer s Disease
Alzheimer s disease, also referred to as AD, is a form of dementia that affects millions of people
worldwide. AD is best known for causing memory loss in those who suffer from it, as well as affecting
decision making, language, and decision making progressively over time (Zou et at, 2014). According
to Zou et el (2014), the symptoms of AD are caused by a build of plaques in the neurons of the brain.
Alois Alzheimer discovered the disease, which was later named after him, when a woman at the age of

documented within families, this despite specific phenotypes being associated with those known

though not necessarily a polygenic disease like it was originally thought (Wingo et a2012). Due to the
high heritability rate found in the study, from 92 100%, it is deduced that EOAD is almost completely
based within genetic factors. In the Wingo et al. (2012) study, a concordance of less than 10% was
found between parent and their offspring, thus suggesting that EOAD is caused by a single autosomal
recessive locus. An explanation for this given is that about 10% is due to the autosomal dominant,
while the rest of the cases are either a recessive allele at a single locus or smaller number of loci that

a very controversial time, the fans loved it and it is still know today as the best era in wrestling. The
Attitude Era was such a success for WWE that their competition, WCW and ECW, were put out of
business in 2001. With the success of the promotion over the past decade and a half, WWE still has
remained the biggest professional wrestling promotion in the world.
Even though WWE may be the biggest wrestling promotion in the world, there are other promotions
world wide that has had essentially the same popularity that WWE has. Ring of Honor has been an
independent promotion since 2002, with Ring of Honor celebrating their fifteenth anniversary in
March. The promotion has had several huge names to come out of it, Daniel Bryan, Low Ki, Adam
Cole, The Young Bucks, CM Punk, Marty Scurll, AJ Styles, and Christopher Daniels, just to name a
few. Bryan Alvarez of the wrestling observer has stated that Ring of Honor didn t try to reinvent the

Traditional Beliefs Of The M Ā Ori And The Rural Urban...
Whenua is the Māori term for land, it also refers to placenta (notion of birth). Land was and still is
extremely important to the Māori people. From the time the Maori people set foot on Aotearoa, their
way of life is highly revolved around the land. They have an immeasurable respect for the land and it
holds the utmost significance. This essay will explore traditional beliefs of whenua such as the
creation myth and the importance of Tāne. It will also discuss the importance to the Māori and how
the loss of land (after the Treaty of Waitangi) played such a significant role. It will also explore the
location of Māori and the rural urban drift, from the 1940s and still very much evident in today s
society, as well as the influence of Pakeha and other cultures. My theory is that the significance of the
land has changed overtime from traditional usage; to the way it is today. The traditional beliefs such as
Māori myths play an important role to whenua. The creation myth involving the separation of
Papatūānuku and Ranginui created light in a world, which was previously full of darkness. The gap
created from Papa and Rangi created the land and the sky. In most creation traditions Tāne mahuta
separated the earth and the sky. He is highly significant as he is the god of the forest. In forests trees
are often seen as Tāne mahuta reaching up to split the earth and sky. All life is seen as being born from
the womb of Papatūānuku, under the sea. The lands that appear above water

The Cellar Girls
Have you ever thought about being taken by a stranger and thinking you will never see you friends or
family again? I believe that could be the scariest thing that could ever happen to someone. In the the
book The Cellar girls are bing kidnapped and they are being named after flowers. The man named
Clover thinks that if he takes girls and keeps them in the basement he could make the perfect family.
But if any of the girls try to attack him they will strongly regret it and they may even get killed. In this
paper i will be using the strategy connection. In the book I can connect to some of the things in it. In
life people have happy things happen and negative things happen. Life throws too much crap at us as
it is, so why hold onto something

Apush Dbq War
August 24th, 1814, should be one of the shameful dates that Americans are not willing to recall. On
that date, British army finally entered Washington and set fire to the White House, Capitol and other
government buildings after they had enjoyed the meal of President and seized all the treasures left.
According to many historical documents, even people lived in Baltimore, which is more than 40 miles
away, could see the fire at that time. And naturally, President Madison and many other government
officials escaped to Virginia on the panic. There is no doubt that it is quite a shame that the capital was
invaded by other countries, and several government buildings were burnt. But it seems strange that the
British army invaded Washington after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And thanks to Dolley Madison, the origin portrait of Washington was not left behind during the
fleeing, and or it would have become ashes. Interestingly, the order received by the commander of the
British army was not to attack, but he decided to ignore the order (Bush, 2014). As described at the
beginning, Major General Robert Ross and his army entered Washington but found no government
representative there, and soon they started to set fire. But it is worth mentioning that as the British
army said, which is that they were retaliating for what the American army did to Canada, generally,
the fire only burnt government buildings and affected very few residences (Graves,

  • 2. Disadvantages Of Deep Learning Deep Learning which developed as a Machine Learning approach has become very popular nowadays. It helps in dealing with complex problem with a greater understanding. Traditional Machine Learning model used to solve problems successfully where final output was a simple function of input data, whereas Deep Learning can capture composite relations. Deep Learning is basically learning data representations which is all about making things and presenting to real audiences. In order to master the various aspects of Deep Learning one requires proficiency of core academic content, critical thinking, analytical thinking and self directed learning. It consists of mathematical models, which can be termed as composition of same type of functions wherein some of the functions can be changed so as to predict the final value. Human computer interactions are based on the belief of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of these models need input parameter from the user, thus are heuristically designed and hence performance might depend on characteristic of parameters and input image. Some of the new learning based methods overcome above problems and give solutions to complex problems. It is for this reason that deep neural networks have recently seen an impressive comeback. CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) used in Deep learning for image restoration, works by averaging out the output of various trained network to the same input. Neural Networks have numerous application in several areas of image processing. It is used for classifying the image and the mathematical analysis of CNN operates feature extraction first and then give the results to trainable classifier. This model works by training the network to reconstruct high quality images from degraded or blurred input images. The model gives promising results from the learned set of denoisers and also can be used for low level applications to deliver high performance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Woman s Christian Temperance Union and the Creation of a Politicized Female Reform Culture In 1879, a group of evangelical churchwomen, all members of the Illinois Woman s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU), presented to their state legislature a massive petition asking that Illinois women be granted the right to vote. The architect of this ambitious petition campaign, which resulted in 180,000 signatures of support, was Frances Willard, then president of the Illinois WCTU. In using her position as a prominent WCTU leader to agitate for enfranchisement of women, Willard went against the express commands of the National WCTU and its president, Annie Wittenmeyer, who had made clear only one year earlier that the WCTU would not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Difficult because, as the early suffrage battles indicated, the membership was as varied as it was large. Many WCTU chapters especially those in small towns and those in the South were narrowly focused gospel temperance societies. Using moral suasion (e.g., affecting change through religion and education rather than through politics), these chapters concentrated on ending the sale and manufacture of alcohol at the local level. But other WCTUs especially those in the North and in urban areas were highly politicized organizations committed to wide spread societal reform. WCTU leaders needed to build a national organization that made space for both these extremes. Between 1874 and 1879, the NWCTU was led by Annie Wittenmyer, an ex Civil War nurse and a staunch anti suffragist. During her presidency, WCTU women were encouraged to hold prayer meetings, organize and educate children about the dangers of alcohol, circulate temperance pledges, do home missionary work among the poor and supposedly intemperate, and make their own homes more attractive in order to counteract the lure of the saloon. Although Wittenmyer voiced the belief that the world will halt or move in its onward march towards millennial glory, as we [women] halt or march, she nonetheless cautioned women to be thoughtful and prayerful as ... In the beginning of 80th of the past century this method was developed for government of Great Britain. In 1993 it was accepted as the national standard of Great Britain and as a reason the SSADM usage is expedient for those who work with governmental organizations and this method is a standard for these organizations. Unlike the conventional approach SSADM is DATA driven and data modeling begins very early in the development of Information system. . SSADM may also represent the document led approach to system design, and can be contrasts with Rapid Application Development Method such as Dynamic System Development Model (DSDM). Do you agree with his comments and suggested methods of managing analysis of risks? In The failure of risk management why it s broken and how to fix Hubbard has put a very good argument regarding the failure of old risk management techniques. Hubbard has tried to show how the risk management methodologies and techniques used currently by many organisation lack scientific and mathematical approach towards risk management. Hubbard has asked 3 basic questions in his book based on the several risk management methodologies 1. Do these risks management methods work? 2. Dose the organisation s using these methods know if these methods didn t work? 3. What are the consequences if they didn t work? In my opinion Hubbard has put the very strong argument in his book, as many organisations have adopted risk management systems. But the problem is, the systems are not backed up by measurable scientific results and often can actually make things worse. After reading the text I don t think that Hubbard is being contemptuous of the risk management practices but he is trying to identifying new ways of better utilising these methods. After reading the book we can see that Hubbard is a strong advocate of quantitative risk management techniques such as Monty Carlo simulation. However, he believes that they are often used incorrectly. Specifically, 1. They are often used without empirical data or validation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Ever since I understood what the military was as a child,... Ever since I understood what the military was as a child, I wanted to be a Soldier. I wanted to defend and disseminate our nation s ideals by assisting others in what my nation knew was right. As I grew in the Army as an enlisted member, I decided to become a military officer. Although as a young man I may have made a righteous, albeit impulsive, decision to enlist; the decision to become an officer was not made at all lightly. Witnessed through my experience in the Army, I realize that I am observed differently by society as an officer. With this, as much as I have endured, my responsibilities as a Soldier would inherently change from this point forward. As a Soldier, I want to be a defender of my country while helping other nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is imperative that my actions are not only expressed as honorable or virtuous, but interpreted that way as well. The people of America trust that the officer corps is a vested authority in which they depend upon for the welfare and lives of their children. Without the support of every officer serving as a role model for their subordinates, society will expect less from our military officers, weakening the military as a whole. Transitioning from enlisted to officer is an achievement that results in an increased awareness of responsibility. A few of these conceptions are: take care of Soldiers prior to taking care of myself; plan my career accordingly in order to progress; and to develop people, making the most of their talents. It is imperative to care for your Soldiers first in order for them to be ready to take care of the mission. As an officer, I will be giving the orders, but the Soldiers need to be ready and able to accomplish the task. To ensure I progress in my career, I need to plan for it. Serving and excelling in my assigned position is only part of setting myself apart from my peers; as an officer, it is expected that I become an expert at my current position, then educate myself in order to qualify for the next better job. The best leaders are able to use their tools efficiently to complete a task; the best tools in all situations are Soldiers. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Education System And The Lack Of Education While reading the research paper, one thing which is clear about the author is that he is someone who understands the need of education for every individual. He understands the importance of education and how it can change someone s life completely. Throughout the paper, author tries to force the reader to understand the education system and the lacking in it. The author has used many references and is telling people to work hard as it is the key to success, in order to make our country flourish and better than other we have to educate our own people and this is the thinking of the author. My goal in this paper is to bring out the facts and present the reality of the writing of the author. In this research paper, Henderson has come up with a problem which is faces almost by every student in his life, the problem when he wants to study but he is stuck between job and studies, even if he manages the time he gets so tired that he is not able to complete his assignments. But suppose that he is also done with the assignments and he is working really hard day and night and is making sure that he gives time to his job as well as his studies, he does all this because it s all in his hands that whether he studies hard or not, he does job or not but at some point he is unable to do anything because it is not in his hands and that is the bills he has to pay for his own studies. Year-Round Schooling Analysis After reading Year Round Schooling Explained by Jaclyn Zubrzycki, Stop the Summer Slide by Nina Rees, and Kids Need Year Round Schools to Compete by Anne McFeatters, year round school sounds like an extraordinary idea for schools. Year round schools seem to be a way to bring in more breaks, but more schooling involved. Multi week summers end in money loss of parents, and academic loss in students. Also, year round demonstrates new ideas and concepts of academic success. Along with the comeback of school we need to Pity our poor teachers who spend every September reprogramming children to do their homework, spending hours on remedial lessons and waiting until overtired children readjust to regular bedtimes says McFeatters. She made me realize that schooling lacks over the summer and forgets to stick for the arrival of school. As stated, teenage workers jobs have become taken by those whom are unsuccessful adults trying to make a living. Being a teenager, I plan on trying to get a job, but my education is also in my hands of retaining throughout a summer of jobs and even summer school to keep up with my schooling to get into more colleges with an overloaded class agenda. Year round school would keep up with my education, and there would be more breaks to find jobs here and there to keep up with extra curricular, or even my car. Altogether, year round school is an idea of success and needs to become more known to keep the nation s knowledge developing. The more academics a child learns, the more growing of academic maturation. Although year round school seems time consuming, it is all but a new layout for schools to show off their intelligence. Anorexia Nervosa is a condition of the intense fear to gain weight, which results in consistent lack of eating. Bulimia Nervosa, involves frequent episodes of binge eating followed by throwing up because of fear of gaining weight. The mortality rate for anorexia is the highest of all mental disorders yet the genetic factors relating them were not a huge concern to look into. It is easy to think that Anorexia and Bulimia are mentality induced only, but there are indeed genetic factors related despite how small the evidence may be. Personality disorders are heritable, and are commonly developed after an eating disorder or a large reason someone develops one. The study of serotonin, a compound found in Bulimia, Anorexia and depression, can be passed down through genes and they play a small part in eating disorders worth acknowledging. Inheriting genes that make an individual athletic naturally can affect the chances of eating disorder. There is no evidence that one particular gene could cause an eating disorder, but there are various traits and levels of compounds that when inherited, increase the likelihood of developing one. Personality disorders are more likely to develop from an eating disorder and are common preceding factors for one. Individuals exposed to stressful environments who are genetically more vulnerable, are at risk for developing an eating disorder. Narcissists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reactivity Of Hcl Acids With Cells Lab Report Reactivity of the HOCl acids with cells The reactivity of HOCl has been comprehensively assessed with in a wide range of cellular systems, including yeast (Carmona Gutierrez et al., 2013) and bacteria (Winterbourne and Kettle, 2013; Winterbourne et al., 2006; Chapman et al., 2002), together with many studies focused on specific mammalian cell types and tissues. It is clear from the numerous invitro studies that HOCl is highly reactive and destructive, inducing cell death via both necrotic and programmed apoptotic pathways, depending on the oxidant concentration and cell type under study. Perhaps somewhat paradoxically, the continued exposure of macrophages to HOCl has been shown to exacerbate the inflammatory response in a number of disease settings, which is particularly relevant with in the progression of atherosclerosis (Daugherty et al., 1994). It has been shown that exposure of both murine macrophage cell lines and primary cultures of human monocyte derived macrophages (HMDMs) to physiologically relevant concentrations of HOCl results in the loss of cell viability. In early studies employing the murine macrophage cell line P388D1 Schraufstätter and co workers (Schraufstätter et al., 1990) demonstrated a dose dependent increase in the extent of trypan blue uptake by the cells that was concurrent with the increased presence of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in cellular supernatants. Both of these methods are indicative of disruption to the cellular membrane and are used extensively as surrogate markers of cell death. In these studies, it was shown that exposure of cells to HOCl concentrations as low as 25 µM decreased cell viability by approximately 20% compared to controls, with 50 µM HOCl causing up to 50% cell death, and complete cell lysis observed after exposure to 75 µM HOCl. Working Title: Examining the History of Standardized Tests in Higher Education through a Critical Race Lens and Analyzing Predictors of Graduate School Success among African Americans Theoretical Framework and Proposed Research Study The theoretical framework chosen to guide my research in analyzing predictors of success in higher education among African American students is Critical Race Theory (CRT), with an emphasis in education. Critical Race Theory in Education (CRTE) evolved from CRT, which is derivative of Critical Legal Studies (CLS), a 1970 s movement which sought to expose and challenge the views that legal reasoning was neutral, value free, and unaffected by social, and economic relations, political forces, or culture phenomena (Brown Jackson, 2013, p. 9). CLS scholars successfully confirmed that personal biases of judges compromised verdicts in legal cases, claiming that America s legal system only reinforces an oppressive social order benefiting the dominant race more than the oppressed race (Brown Jackson, 2013). CRTE scholars is indebted to CRT scholars (which is indebted to CLS scholars), thus scholars of CRTE should be well versed in the history of CRT (and CLS). • 19. The United States And Soviet Union Essay The 1980 s were a dynamic time in the life cycle of the Cold War. The early portion of this decade, which saw massive shifts in the administrations of the United States and Soviet Union, maintained an atmosphere of suspicion, wariness, and skepticism. This theme of uncertainty and caution was the logical product of decades of both American and Soviet duplicity, confrontation, and militarization. Yet, despite this mistrust between the polar Cold War belligerents, and contrary to the early rhetoric of the Reagan administration, the United States and Soviet Union modified their perceptions of each other s intentions following 1985 s Reykjavik Summit, which, despite producing no tangible results, established common desire for arms reduction and a conclusion of the Cold War. This warming of relations, however, increased at a gradual rate and encountered significant hurdles as the two nations attempted to limit the potential for thermonuclear war. Ultimately, Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev s dialogue of the eyes transitioned from one administration to the next, while also weathering significant domestic pressures as the United Soviet Socialist Republic disintegrated. Doubt and insecurity largely characterized the Cold War in the late 1970s and early stages of the Reagan presidency. However, despite these misguided government attempts lasting more than a century, the Aboriginal culture and civilization could not be eradicated, and the residential school system as originally conceived proved to be a failure. Residential schools were religious custodial schools established after 1880 by the Canadian government in partnership with churches. Through next half century, a system of residential schools stretching across country developed. The Roman Catholic church ran 3/5 of residential schools, the Anglican church ¼, and the United and Presbyterian churches controlled the rest. Under the BNAAct and Indian Acts, the government was responsible for providing Aboriginals with an education as well as integrating them into Canadian society. Aboriginal leaders also wanted Euro Canadian schooling for their children so they could acquire the skills of the society in order to help them transition into a world led by ... I have come to the conclusion, the only way to serve the community in the fullest capacity is to first become educated on the needs of the community. To gain understanding of what is required to serve this world, I took time volunteering in a nursing home as therapy aide and working at podiatrist office. Although these experiences can be limiting, the information gained in serving people is invaluable. Working with people to meet basic needs has shown me the importance of humbly approaching all scenarios and patients. • 34. Alliteration In Beowulf Literary devises use utilized by authors to help show common themes as well as tone and symbolism. The epic poem Beowulf (translated by Seamus Heany) is a three part epic of the Anglo Saxon warrior Beowulf. First, he brought his warriors to Heorot and to the king Hrothgar to help him get rid of the monster Grendel. Grendel is a monster, and is very isolated. Beowulf is successful and ends up killing Grendel, and kills Grendel s mother after she returns an attack. The final part is Beowulf s final fight with a dragon, in which he dies. Various literary terms are used in Beowulf to help provide themes of fear of outcasts, the struggle of good and evil, and the difference between isolation and being part of a tribe. Kennings and alliteration are utilized to portray a theme of outsiders being evil and dangerous. Grendel, an outcast of society, is angered by a celebration in the king, Hrothgar s hall. Grendel comes to Hrothgar s hall every night for twelve years to wreak havoc among the hall and disturb the king. Beowulf comes to the hall with a group of his men to rid of the monster. Grendel comes at night, filled with rage and anger to disrupt the happiness of the hall. A kenning is used to alienate Grendel: God cursed Grendel came greedily loping. / The bane of the race of men roamed forth, (711 712). Anglo Saxon literature fears the unknown and the dangerous. A competent and qualified wealth manager is capable of developing a prudent investment strategy which is customized to best suit an individual client, transforming simple liquid assets into the engines driving continual prosperity. In order to maximize a client s return on investment (ROI) ratios, it is important for wealth managers to perform due diligence by poring through banking records, transaction histories, investment portfolios, and other factors of their financial health to determine the optimal money management and investment strategy for their particular needs. This process is integral to the overall philosophy of Asset Liability Management (ALM), a term which denotes the adaptation of the portfolio management process to handle the presence of various constraints relating to the liabilities of an investor (Amenc, Martellini, Milhau Ziemann, 2009), because recognizing a client s limitations is essential to helping them realize their potential. • 36. Gender Roles In Gender Socialization Girls and boys both grow up being socialized on what is normal and unusual for their gender. At a young age they are given the idea of what is expected of them based on whether they are male or female. Toys are a prominent factor in this socialization, because they are typically presented for one gender and are unacceptable for the other. To assess how toys play a role in gender socialization, I made a trip to Toys R Us in College Station and surprisingly found that the gender beliefs have changed quite a bit since I was a child in the late 90s to early 2000s. The first thing that went through my mind when walking into the store was to look for the Girls and Boys signs that would indicate to me which section was for which gender. There weren t any signs though! Toys R Us had their aisles organized by categories such as arts crafts, travel systems, learning education, bikes wheels, sports, and fun. In order to determine what aisle may be targeted to one gender, I looked at what types of toys were in the aisles and what were the dominant colors in each aisle. The aisles I assumed to be for girls were filled with lots of pink while boy aisles had darker colors such as blue, green, orange, and dark purple. The majority of girl toys were composed of beauty sets, dress up, and dolls whereas boy toys were super heroes, Legos, tools, and vehicles. There wasn t a huge selection in gender neutral toys, but the ones offered were more on the educational side. Most of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The prevalence of CHD is higher in men within each age stratum until after 75 years of age, which may contribute to the perception that heart disease is a man s disease. The classic risk factors for CVD are the same in women and men, but there are gender differences in the prevalence of risk factors. • 40. Individuality In The Pedestrian And Fahrenheit 451 By Ray... In life, it is commonly stated that A man who doesn t think for himself, does not think at all. This statement is supported in The Pedestrian and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. In Fahrenheit 451 the main character finds himself bound to the expectations of society and robotically follows every order that is given to him without second thoughts. This leads to him being unknowingly unhappy and having a hollow existence. But as the story progressed the main character became more aware of the person that he truly was, and when he had finally discovered that person, he was truly happy. On the contrary, In The Pedestrian a lone individual who is different from society is able to think for himself, thus giving him freedom from the bonds of society and the ability to embrace his individuality. Making him free and happy. In both stories, we see how individuality releases people from the shackles of their society and finally allows them to be truly happy with who they are. AD is best known for causing memory loss in those who suffer from it, as well as affecting decision making, language, and decision making progressively over time (Zou et at, 2014). According to Zou et el (2014), the symptoms of AD are caused by a build of plaques in the neurons of the brain. Alois Alzheimer discovered the disease, which was later named after him, when a woman at the age of 51 presented to him with a case of dementia that was new to him. There has also been observed phenotypic heterogeneity among common mutations that ware documented within families, this despite specific phenotypes being associated with those known mutations (Zou et al. 2014). The study performed concludes that EOAD is a highly heritable disease, though not necessarily a polygenic disease like it was originally thought (Wingo et a2012). Due to the high heritability rate found in the study, from 92 100%, it is deduced that EOAD is almost completely based within genetic factors. In the Wingo et al. (2012) study, a concordance of less than 10% was found between parent and their offspring, thus suggesting that EOAD is caused by a single autosomal recessive locus. An explanation for this given is that about 10% is due to the autosomal dominant, while the rest of the cases are either a recessive allele at a single locus or smaller number of loci that presents in women but has less penetrance in males (Wingo et al. ... Land was and still is extremely important to the Māori people. From the time the Maori people set foot on Aotearoa, their way of life is highly revolved around the land. They have an immeasurable respect for the land and it holds the utmost significance. This essay will explore traditional beliefs of whenua such as the creation myth and the importance of Tāne. It will also discuss the importance to the Māori and how the loss of land (after the Treaty of Waitangi) played such a significant role. It will also explore the location of Māori and the rural urban drift, from the 1940s and still very much evident in today s society, as well as the influence of Pakeha and other cultures. My theory is that the significance of the land has changed overtime from traditional usage; to the way it is today. The traditional beliefs such as Māori myths play an important role to whenua. The creation myth involving the separation of Papatūānuku and Ranginui created light in a world, which was previously full of darkness. The gap created from Papa and Rangi created the land and the sky. In most creation traditions Tāne mahuta separated the earth and the sky. He is highly significant as he is the god of the forest. In forests trees are often seen as Tāne mahuta reaching up to split the earth and sky. All life is seen as being born from the womb of Papatūānuku, under the sea.
