Practice II 2014
Lesson plans Nº 1 and 2
Date: September, 30th
School Nº 25
Teacher in charge: Nadina C. Rodriguez
Trainee: Marilina Montenegro
Courses: 5th A and 5th C
CLASS N° 1-2
TIMETABLE FIT: Tuesday 5th C (10.45-11.30), 5th A (11.30-12.15)
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE GROUP: The students in this elementary class are between 10 and
11 years old. There are 23 students in each classroom. The class starts at 10.45 after a short
break. The students are excited and cheerful during the lesson. They are noisy when the
activity is taking place for a long time and some of them finish it before the rest.
Moreover, they work hard and they show them as very interested in the subject. One aspect is
important about the classes is that they speak a lot of English and they try to correct
themselves when some of their mates make a mistake
OBJECTIVES OF THE LESSON: During this lesson students are expected to:
- Identify each piece of clothes with their names
- Make a clear revision of what they have seen about clothes and colours
- Listen to the teacher and colour the pieces of clothes
- Contextualize vocabulary to describe what the kids are wearing by playing a game of
dressing and using the vocabulary that they learned in the Unit.
ROUTINES: Greetings. Song. Organize the calendar in the board.
Practice II 2014
OPENING THE LESSON:
WARM-UP ACTIVITY (1)
As the teacher is finishing with unit 4 “Clothes”, I will start the class by making a general
revision of the different kind of clothes that they saw along the unit. This activity will be
carried out by using the different flashcards. Moreover, I will revise colours too, by asking
them about the colour of the clothes in the cards. Questions: T-Student:
What is this?
What colour is it?
Is this a dress?
Is this red?
BODY OF THE LESSON:
ACTIVITY 2: Listening Comprehension.
After revising all the vocabulary related with clothes and colours, I will make a listening activity
which consists of colouring the clothes that the Garcia’s sisters (Ana, Emma, Ava, Eva) have on
their own clothes line.
Practice II 2014
 Ana’s clothes line has a pink and green dress and blue socks.
 Emmas’s clothes line has light-blue jeans, a white and red t-shirt and a yellow skirt.
 Ava`s clothes line has black and grey socks and a violet dress.
 Eva`s clothes line has brown socks, a blue t-shirt and a white skirt.
CLOSING THE LESSON:
FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY 3:
To round-up the topic of clothes, we will play a game together. The children will have to dress
up a girl and a boy in a kind of poster on the board, and then they will have to describe the
clothes they are wearing including colours.
