G. Learning Activities
Preliminary (± 10 minutes)
Phase 1: Clarify aims and establish set
- Teacher explains learning objectives to students
- Teacher explains an apperception to students about how to solve linear equation system
with two variables that have been taught in the previous meeting and about linear equation
with one variable’s problem in daily life.
- Teacher gives motivation to students about application of linear equation system with two
variables related to daily life, such as:
Given the difference age between a father and his son now is 26 years, meanwhile five
years ago the both sum of their age is 34 years. Determine each of father’s age and his
son’s age two years later!
Main Activities (± 50 minutes)
Phase 2: Give the information (teach some part of topics) (± 10 minutes)
- Teacher explains to students about linear equation system with two variables in daily life.
- Teacher gives example about linear equation system with two variables in daily life and
how to solve it generally.
- Teacher communicates the topics with students by asking them for checking their
understanding
Phase 3: Organize students in group (± 5 minutes)
- Teacher helps students to make small heterogeneous group that consists of 3 – 4 students
- Teacher manages students to make group according to the last quiz result and arrange
them for preparing the discussion
- Teacher explains that after group activity, there is a short quiz to determine development
score of each student. Development score is difference score between initial score
(previous quiz about how to solve linear equation system with two variables) and last score
in this meeting. The development score will determine group succeeds in the end of this
meeting.
Phase 4 : Guides students in the group activity, students work in group (± 35 minutes)
3
- Teacher gives students a worksheet for every group to be discussed
- Teacher gives a summary or any references that related to discussion topic
- Teacher guides students in group activity but teacher still gives students chance to practice
independently and works in group to solve the given problems.
- Teacher and students discuss student worksheet generally together.
- Teacher gives some comment or feedback to students’ work for checking their
understanding.
End Activity (± 30 minutes)
Phase 5 : Gives the evaluation (Quiz) (± 20 minutes)
- Teacher gives quiz about solving problem of linear equation system with two variables in
daily life to students individually.
Phase 6 : Gives reward (Group Award) (± 10 minutes)
- Teacher evaluates students quiz score
- Quiz score that have been gotten will be compared with the initial score for getting the
development score.
- Best group is group that has the highest average of development score.
- Teacher announces the best group at that meeting and praises them.
- Teacher also supports and appreciates the other groups for their work.
- Teacher gives reward to the best group by and preparing their certificate for the next
meeting.
- Teacher prepares students for next topic will be discussed.

Learning Objective Cognitive - Given daily life problem about linear equation system with two variables and students worksheet, students are able to construct mathematics model of given problem about linear equation system with two variables - Given daily life problem about linear equation system with two variables and students worksheet, students are able to solve given daily life problems in mathematics model that related to linear equation system with two variables Affective - Characterized Behavior While doing discussion, students are more helpful to others and more responsible with the task that given for them
  • 2. 2 - Social Skills While doing presentation and discussion, students are more able to have good communication in discussion process such as asking a question, or speak up their opinion E. Learning Topic Learning Topic : Linear equation system with two variables F. Learning Model / Method Learning Model / Method : Cooperative Learning Approach : Student Team Achievement Development (STAD) G. Learning Activities Preliminary (± 10 minutes) Phase 1: Clarify aims and establish set - Teacher explains learning objectives to students - Teacher explains an apperception to students about how to solve linear equation system with two variables that have been taught in the previous meeting and about linear equation with one variable’s problem in daily life. - Teacher gives motivation to students about application of linear equation system with two variables related to daily life, such as: Given the difference age between a father and his son now is 26 years, meanwhile five years ago the both sum of their age is 34 years. Determine each of father’s age and his son’s age two years later! Main Activities (± 50 minutes) Phase 2: Give the information (teach some part of topics) (± 10 minutes) - Teacher explains to students about linear equation system with two variables in daily life. - Teacher gives example about linear equation system with two variables in daily life and how to solve it generally. - Teacher communicates the topics with students by asking them for checking their understanding Phase 3: Organize students in group (± 5 minutes) - Teacher helps students to make small heterogeneous group that consists of 3 – 4 students - Teacher manages students to make group according to the last quiz result and arrange them for preparing the discussion - Teacher explains that after group activity, there is a short quiz to determine development score of each student. Development score is difference score between initial score (previous quiz about how to solve linear equation system with two variables) and last score in this meeting. The development score will determine group succeeds in the end of this meeting. Phase 4 : Guides students in the group activity, students work in group (± 35 minutes)
  • 3. 3 - Teacher gives students a worksheet for every group to be discussed - Teacher gives a summary or any references that related to discussion topic - Teacher guides students in group activity but teacher still gives students chance to practice independently and works in group to solve the given problems. - Teacher and students discuss student worksheet generally together. - Teacher gives some comment or feedback to students’ work for checking their understanding. End Activity (± 30 minutes) Phase 5 : Gives the evaluation (Quiz) (± 20 minutes) - Teacher gives quiz about solving problem of linear equation system with two variables in daily life to students individually. Phase 6 : Gives reward (Group Award) (± 10 minutes) - Teacher evaluates students quiz score - Quiz score that have been gotten will be compared with the initial score for getting the development score. - Best group is group that has the highest average of development score. - Teacher announces the best group at that meeting and praises them. - Teacher also supports and appreciates the other groups for their work. - Teacher gives reward to the best group by and preparing their certificate for the next meeting. - Teacher prepares students for next topic will be discussed.
