WARM-UP
Predict the topic from the pictures (textbook page 16)
T asks the Ss about their travel habits;
T focuses on the photo on page 16 to start a discussion :
• Where are the men and what are they doing?
• Why people might go on long journeys (as in the movie “Easy Riders”)?
• Discuss the quotation in the lesson “A man travels the world in search of what he needs
and returns home to find it.”

ACTIVITY 1
AIM: to extend the Ss vocabulary within the topic of travel and tourism
INTERACTION: T – S

PROCEDURE:
• T elicits vocabulary terms related to travelling
• T introduces the new vocabulary terms : Ss listen to a recording and fill in the gaps with
the correct words ex 1; they make notes and solve ex 3a (vocabulary)
• Ss and T explain the new words by using synonyms or definitions
ACTIVITY 2
AIM: To extract info from a reading text
INTERACTION: T – S
TIME: 15 min
PROCEDURE:
• Ss predict the topic of the text from the title
• In pairs they discuss the questions from the ex 4a (pre-reading)

• T checks vocabulary comprehension (S find synonyms of the new vocabulary terms);

ACTIVITY 3
AIM: To focus on fluency and accuracy in speaking
INTERACTION: S-S (pairwork)
TIME: 10 min
PROCEDURE:
• Ss practice speaking by interviewing their colleagues about their travel experiences.
Then, they report to the rest of the class.
HOMEWORK
Think of as many travel tips for visitors to your country as you can and write a 120-word
text including the five most important.
