Theme: “Traveling”
Aims of the lesson: 1. To establish and practice of grammar skills on the present perfect and past
indefinite, words and word combinations on the theme travelling.
2. To encourage students to give reasons and participate in the discussions. To develop students’
grammar skills and habits of oral speech.
3. To enable students to exchange ideas, express personal opinions and to solve the problems.
Type of the lesson:to form knowledge and skills.
Methods: audio-visual method, practical and interactive method;
Equipment: Microsoft Power point presentation, the cards, active board, pictures, papers,tables.
The procedure of the lesson:
I. Org. moment.
T: Good afternoon, students! Glad to see all of you here! Today we have not usual lesson, we are
having open lesson! That’s why let`s great each other and our guests!
S: Good afternoon!
T: Students, as you see we haven’t written the title of today’s theme. We’ll know it after having
done the task of the warm up.
II. Warm-up.
T: Let’s try to guess the theme of our lesson. I have prepared a crossword puzzle for you. If
you guess all the words correctly, you will be able to name the theme of our lesson.
1. You buy it, if you want to go by bus, or by plane, or by car. (a ticket)
2. When people tired they need to have…. ( a rest)
3. The quickest way of transport. (an airplane)
4. Types of long journey by water to a distant place is….(voyage)
5. To receive pleasure or satisfaction from smth.(enjoy)
6. The bags and suitcase that a person carries when traveling. (luggage)
7. People can wait for their flight in the departure … (lounge)
8. To arrive …a city (in)
9. The antonym of the word “south” (north)
10. A person who directs other people on a journey (Guide)
T: Now you see that today we’re going to talk about:”Travelling”.
We are going to speak on this topic as much as possible, to remember the new words and do many
other interesting things. Look at the blackboard and read the motto of our lesson:
“The More we learn different lands, the more we know each other”. Let`s write the theme and
motto of our lesson!
III. The main part.
T: We know that many people are fond of traveling. But why?At first I`d like you to watch the
video. Pay your attention, please!
T: 1. Why do people like to travel?
St.1: They want to learn about different countries, culture and sightseeing’s.
St.2: Travelling is good because you meet new friends.
St3.: You can visit famous museums, galleries, buy souvenirs.
St4.: You can learn about national traditions of many countries.
2. How can people travel?
St.1: They can travel by car, by sea, by plane, by bus, on foot.
3. What means of transport do you prefer to travel?
St.1: I prefer to travel by car because I can stop when and there I want and enjoy nature.
St.2: I prefer to travel by sea because I enjoy the wind and the sea.
St3: I prefer to travel by plane because it’s the quickest means of transport and comfortable
St4. I prefer to travel by train because it’s the most convenient and not expensive.
T: Prove “The world is the book, and those do not travel, read only a page”. Do you agree?
St.1: Travelling is an exciting thing!
St.2: The more you travel, the more you see!
St.3: The more you travel, the more you learn!
Thank you, students for your well done work. I think we are ready to have a little game on the
purpose to establish our taken knowledge.
IV. Consolidating the new words. (Interactive board)
a) T: Let’s revise the new words.
Now I`d like to be divided you into 2 groups. As you see, there is a paper infront you where you
have to fulfill it with the words and word combinations about travelling. But you have definite
minutes only.
V.Role-game.
T: There are lots of countries in the world. What countries do you know?
Sts: China, France, Germany, Australia, England, Egypt, India, America.
T: Now. Let`s imagine! You are the tour agencies! You have to choose the cards given here and to
present any country written there. One of you is a manager of tour agency and others are the agents.
St. 1. Dear guests! Welcome to our Tour Agency. I am a manager of our tour agency and these are
my agents. Our tour agents have prepared some information about Australia, the USA, Egypt and
Kazakhstan. They have done small booklets of sights of these countries.
Agent 1. I invite you to visit Australia. Australia. It is a very interesting country. You can see the
exotic birds, kangaroos, koalas, the Blue Mountains, The national Gallery. It has more than 70000
art objects in its collection. Welcome to Australia!
Agent 2. I invite you to visit Egypt. It’s a very beautiful country. You can see deserts, sphinx,
Pyramids, ancient manuscripts, and of course, you can buy souvenirs. Your traveling will be
exciting! You will not be bored!
Agent 3. I invite you to visit America. It’s the most beautiful country. There are a lot of sightseeing
in it. If you go to America, you will see the Statue of Liberty, The White House, the Washington
Monument.
Agent 4. There are many countries in the world. But my country is the best. Kazakhstan is my
Motherland. I admire its nature, mountains, and rare animals. If you go to Kazakhstan, you will
enjoy Charin, Medeo, Tyan-Shan, Baiterek
VI.To talk on the advantages and disadvantages of the given variant.
1) Travelling.
2) Travelling by plane.
3) Travelling by train.
4) Travelling abroad.
VII. Grammar task.
You know, we took The Present Perfect and The Past Indefinite Tenses at the previous lesson. I
want you to show your grammar skills.

G: I have seen the Great Wall, pandas, beautiful monuments.
St: How do you get there?
G: By plane.
St: Where do you stay?
G: At a hotel. I want to give a nice present to you. It’s the famous symbol of my country.
St. Thank you! Good Bye!
G. Bye!

St.: Hello. My name is… Where did you travel last year?
G: I went to Great Britain.
St. How was your trip?
G: Wonderful!
St.: What did you do there?
G. I visited museums, went shopping, took lots of pictures. Look at these photos.

G. Of course! I liked very much! This is my present for you. Don’t forget me.
St. Thank you very much. Bye!

  • 1. Theme: “Traveling” Aims of the lesson: 1. To establish and practice of grammar skills on the present perfect and past indefinite, words and word combinations on the theme travelling. 2. To encourage students to give reasons and participate in the discussions. To develop students’ grammar skills and habits of oral speech. 3. To enable students to exchange ideas, express personal opinions and to solve the problems. Type of the lesson:to form knowledge and skills. Methods: audio-visual method, practical and interactive method; Equipment: Microsoft Power point presentation, the cards, active board, pictures, papers,tables. The procedure of the lesson: I. Org. moment. T: Good afternoon, students! Glad to see all of you here! Today we have not usual lesson, we are having open lesson! That’s why let`s great each other and our guests! S: Good afternoon! T: Students, as you see we haven’t written the title of today’s theme. We’ll know it after having done the task of the warm up. II. Warm-up. T: Let’s try to guess the theme of our lesson. I have prepared a crossword puzzle for you. If you guess all the words correctly, you will be able to name the theme of our lesson. 1. You buy it, if you want to go by bus, or by plane, or by car. (a ticket) 2. When people tired they need to have…. ( a rest) 3. The quickest way of transport. (an airplane) 4. Types of long journey by water to a distant place is….(voyage) 5. To arrive …a city (in) 9. The antonym of the word “south” (north) 10. A person who directs other people on a journey (Guide) T: Now you see that today we’re going to talk about:”Travelling”. We are going to speak on this topic as much as possible, to remember the new words and do many other interesting things. Look at the blackboard and read the motto of our lesson: “The More we learn different lands, the more we know each other”. Let`s write the theme and motto of our lesson! III. The main part. T: We know that many people are fond of traveling. But why?At first I`d like you to watch the video. Pay your attention, please! T: 1. Why do people like to travel? St.1: They want to learn about different countries, culture and sightseeing’s. St.2: Travelling is good because you meet new friends. St3.: You can visit famous museums, galleries, buy souvenirs. St4.: You can learn about national traditions of many countries. 2. How can people travel? St.1: They can travel by car, by sea, by plane, by bus, on foot. 3. What means of transport do you prefer to travel? St.1: I prefer to travel by car because I can stop when and there I want and enjoy nature. St.2: I prefer to travel by sea because I enjoy the wind and the sea. St3: I prefer to travel by plane because it’s the quickest means of transport and comfortable St4. I prefer to travel by train because it’s the most convenient and not expensive. T: Prove “The world is the book, and those do not travel, read only a page”. Do you agree?

T: Now. Let`s imagine! You are the tour agencies! You have to choose the cards given here and to present any country written there. One of you is a manager of tour agency and others are the agents. St. 1. Dear guests! Welcome to our Tour Agency. I am a manager of our tour agency and these are my agents. Our tour agents have prepared some information about Australia, the USA, Egypt and Kazakhstan. They have done small booklets of sights of these countries. Agent 1. I invite you to visit Australia. Australia. It is a very interesting country. You can see the exotic birds, kangaroos, koalas, the Blue Mountains, The national Gallery. It has more than 70000 art objects in its collection. Welcome to Australia! Agent 2. I invite you to visit Egypt. It’s a very beautiful country. You can see deserts, sphinx, Pyramids, ancient manuscripts, and of course, you can buy souvenirs. Your traveling will be exciting! You will not be bored! Agent 3. I invite you to visit America. It’s the most beautiful country. There are a lot of sightseeing in it. If you go to America, you will see the Statue of Liberty, The White House, the Washington Monument. Agent 4. There are many countries in the world. But my country is the best. Kazakhstan is my Motherland. I admire its nature, mountains, and rare animals. If you go to Kazakhstan, you will enjoy Charin, Medeo, Tyan-Shan, Baiterek VI.To talk on the advantages and disadvantages of the given variant. 1) Travelling. 2) Travelling by plane. 3) Travelling by train. 4) Travelling abroad.
