Unit 4: LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
 To recognize and incorporate the grammatical structure “He/She
likes/doesn’t like …., and Do you like + ing?” with the purpose of
expressing what habits are healthy for their lives.
 To practice the listening, speaking, reading and writing macro-skills.
 To understand oral questions and answer them.
 To describe different actions on pictures.
 To be able to use properly verb tenses: Simple Present and Present
Continuous.
 To incorporate a wide variety of vocabulary related to “healthy habits”.
WARM UP
TIME TO PLAY!
- To open the class, the teacher will ask the children to work in pairs.
- The first activity consists of creating a healthy menu.
- Students will be given a photocopy with an image of a dish and another
one with lots of food.
- They have to cut out the different pictures of food, then, paste them in
the dish creating an ideal menu. While doing it, they can colour it.

- Once the activity is finished, learners have to write the menu they have
chosen and share it with their classmates.
- There is very little input as regards English in this activity. Try providing
them with a text about healthy eating first, so that they know what they
should include in their menu and why. Prepare a reading comprehension

Pizza Competition
- The teacher will ask the children to make groups of 4 play the following
game:
- They will compete creating the most exquisite and innovative pizza to be
accepted in the most famous restaurant of Santa Rosa.
- Teacher will give them an incomplete pizza made of cardboard, and they
have to complete it drawing the most delicious ingredients!
After finishing it, each group have to present their own pizza in front of
the class. Students will have a guideline to follow when presenting the
pizza:
“Our pizza is called: ___________. Its ingredients are:
_______________. It is created by _____________.We want to win!!”
- Finally, the judges (Estela, Ana, Agustina and Manuela) have to choose
a winner.
Type of interaction: Students in groups.
Macro-skills: Writing, drawing, speaking.
Timing: 30 minutes.
Materials: Cardboard, colours.
Second Activity:
- Page 44, exercise 19.
- Students will read aloud the text “Pizza Time!” and discuss it all together
questions like: Do you like pizza? Which is your favourite pizza? Etc. The
idea is to close the lesson writing down the answers on their notebooks.
