 Teaching approach: The lesson is based on the CLT approach and
it is organized by the PPP instruction.

 Integration of skills: What skills will be integrated and how?
Speaking and listening skills are integrated by making students
participate orally, asking questions, checking answers orally.

 Materials and resources: flashcards, board, coursebook ('Phases
3', second edition, editorial Macmillan).
 Pedagogical use of ICT in class or at home: the use of ICT is not
integrated during this lesson.

 Seating arrangement: students work in their seats during this
lesson.

 Assessment: what will be assessed and how: I assess students by
making them repeat new words, answering questions, eliciting
information from the group, checking activities orally and working
collaboratively. 
Routine: 5’
Purpose: To start the lesson and establish rapport.
T greets the students and asks them “How are you today?”
Next, T explains them that they are going to start with unit
three from their coursebook.
Transition: Ok, now look at the board…
Warm-up: 5’
Purpose: to introduce the topic of the lesson.
T writes on the board the word ‘charity’, and then asks students
to think other words related to the word given. While students
participate orally, the T writes the words on the board. If
necessary, the T will provide more words related to ‘charity’, for
example: people in need, raise funds, support..
After that, the T provides and writes on the board as well, a
clear definition of the word ‘charity’ in case some students
cannot understand its meaning at all.
Charity: the act of giving money, food, or help to people who need
it, for example, poor, sick people.
Transition: “Very good students! Now, let’s learn vocabulary
related to this topic..”
Presentation: 10’
Purpose: to present the teaching points.
The T shows students different flashcards in order to present the
target language and helps them understand the meanings. For
example:
Have a bring and buy sale
Sell badges
While the T shows the different pictures one at a time, she asks
students questions like ‘What’s this? What do people do here? How
do they collect money here?’
The T always provides help and explanation if necessary in order
to ensure students understand the meaning of the new vocabulary.
Transition: “Ok, let’s do some activities with these new words..”
Development: 15’
Purpose: to practice the target language using the coursebook.
T asks the students to open their books on page 30.
Activity 1: Match pictures with some of the ideas in blue. Then
listen and repeat.
Activity 2: Complete the text with words from exercise 1.
During this second activity, the T provides the meaning of any
word students do not understand/know, if necessary.
Once students finish both tasks, answers are checked orally.
Transition: “Good job students!”
Closure: 5’
Purpose: To give a closure to the lesson by making students
participate orally.
T: “Imagine you are going on a school trip. Which ideas from the
lesson do you as a group consider better to collect money? You
need to give reasons for your choices.”
Transition: “Very good ideas group! Have a nice weekend. See you
next week!”
The format in which the stages are presented will vary according to the
teaching approach or combination of approaches you decide to base your
lesson plan upon.

  • 2. New Giving personal opinions and reasons related to the topic Fundraising, Charity, sponsored, barbecue, badges, jumble sale, raffle tickets. In this lesson and taking into account students’ level of English, new structures will not be introduced charity /ʈʃ/  Teaching approach: The lesson is based on the CLT approach and it is organized by the PPP instruction.   Integration of skills: What skills will be integrated and how? Speaking and listening skills are integrated by making students participate orally, asking questions, checking answers orally.   Materials and resources: flashcards, board, coursebook ('Phases 3', second edition, editorial Macmillan).  Pedagogical use of ICT in class or at home: the use of ICT is not integrated during this lesson.   Seating arrangement: students work in their seats during this lesson.   Assessment: what will be assessed and how: I assess students by making them repeat new words, answering questions, eliciting information from the group, checking activities orally and working collaboratively. 
  • 3. Routine: 5’ Purpose: To start the lesson and establish rapport. T greets the students and asks them “How are you today?” Next, T explains them that they are going to start with unit three from their coursebook. Transition: Ok, now look at the board… Warm-up: 5’ Purpose: to introduce the topic of the lesson. T writes on the board the word ‘charity’, and then asks students to think other words related to the word given. While students participate orally, the T writes the words on the board. If necessary, the T will provide more words related to ‘charity’, for example: people in need, raise funds, support.. After that, the T provides and writes on the board as well, a clear definition of the word ‘charity’ in case some students cannot understand its meaning at all. Charity: the act of giving money, food, or help to people who need it, for example, poor, sick people. Transition: “Very good students! Now, let’s learn vocabulary related to this topic..” Presentation: 10’ Purpose: to present the teaching points. The T shows students different flashcards in order to present the target language and helps them understand the meanings. For
  • 4. example: Have a bring and buy sale Sell badges
  • 5. While the T shows the different pictures one at a time, she asks students questions like ‘What’s this? What do people do here? How do they collect money here?’ The T always provides help and explanation if necessary in order to ensure students understand the meaning of the new vocabulary. Transition: “Ok, let’s do some activities with these new words..” Development: 15’ Purpose: to practice the target language using the coursebook. T asks the students to open their books on page 30. Activity 1: Match pictures with some of the ideas in blue. Then listen and repeat.
  • 6. Activity 2: Complete the text with words from exercise 1. During this second activity, the T provides the meaning of any word students do not understand/know, if necessary. Once students finish both tasks, answers are checked orally. Transition: “Good job students!” Closure: 5’ Purpose: To give a closure to the lesson by making students participate orally. T: “Imagine you are going on a school trip. Which ideas from the lesson do you as a group consider better to collect money? You need to give reasons for your choices.” Transition: “Very good ideas group! Have a nice weekend. See you
