Julieta is bullied by her three elder brothers. She seeks advice from her guidance counselor, who tells her to understand her brothers' perspective and stand up to them respectfully. Julieta later talks to her brothers, who explain they were just teasing her and wanted to protect her, not hurt her. They apologize, and Julieta understands they show their love through differing opinions and advice. From then on, the siblings agree to be open and honest with each other to avoid further misunderstandings.

1. Sibling Love

2. Julieta is the youngest of four siblings. She is
also the only girl. Ever since she was young,
she has always been bullied by her elder
brothers. Whatever she says, her brothers
would disagree with her. They would even
comment on her behavior and manners. This
makes Juliet so sad. She could only cry for
her parents had taught her to respect her
elders.
Julieta then thinks of a way to solve
her problem. She tries asking her friends at
school if they experience the same thing with
their brothers. However, she becomes even
more sad because her friends say that their
brothers treat them well.

3. One time, at school, Julieta is called to the
guidance office for the routine interview. Julieta takes
opportunity to tell the guidance counselor, Ms. Reyes,
about her problem. Ms. Reyes tells Julieta that she has
to understand her brothers and try to befriend them as
they are her siblings. She also teaches her techniques
for standing up to her brothers the right way. The first
thing that Julieta should do is listen to what her brothers
are telling her. Ms. Reyes also adds that Julieta should
discover the reasons her brothers keep on bullying her.
She explains that Julieta should realize that everyone is
different and free to express themselves. Therefore, she
should express herself, too.

4. At last, Julieta gets a chance to
talk to her brothers. She asks them why
they always bully her. “It’s not bullying,
Julieta. You are our only sister and the
youngest one at that. We only enjoy teasing
you, but does not mean we want to hurt
you,” her brother Ronnie says.
“That’s right, Julieta. We also want to point
out that sometimes you do things that are
not fit your age like applying makeup and
wearing perfume, so we want to stop you
from doing them. It’s just that we do not
know how else to tell you,” her other
brother Franz says.

5. We are sorry if we may have hurt
you, Julieta. We did not mean to do so. It’s
not that we always disagree with you. It’s
just that we always have different opinion
on things. Maybe, it’s because girls and
boys see things differently sometimes,” her
brother Ernie says.
“I’m sorry, too. I did not know that I
make you worry. I’m glad that we got talk. I
don’t want to hate you, so I want to
understand why you do the things you do.
Thank you, dear brothers,” Julieta tells her
brothers.

6. “From now on, let us tell each other directly what we think
about each other to avoid misunderstanding, OK?” Ronnie says to
everyone, giving them the thumbs up sign.
From that day on, Julieta does not have bad feelings for her
brothers anymore. Because she has kept an open mind, she is able to
understand where they are coming from. She does not think of her
brother’s actions as bullying but as their way of showing love and
concern for her.
