The document discusses the importance of obedience, particularly for children obeying their parents. It notes that obedience allows children to learn from those in authority and stay safe. It then provides an example of a child who was initially unhappy obeying rules but came to understand why rules were important for becoming a responsible person. The document concludes by emphasizing that obedience through following rules and helping with chores helps keep families close-knit and homes happy.
2. To be obedient means to follow the advice
or guidance of somebody older than us or a
person in authority.
3. By obeying people like them, we are able to
learn many things and to keep safe.
4. It Feels Good to be Obedient
My parents had set rules for our family. I always
obey them. Aside from finishing my homework before
playing or watching TV and fixing my bed, I help my
mom wash dishes.
5. Before, I was not always happy obeying my parents
and their rules. It took a while before I fully understood
why I had to finish my homework and other chores,
before I could go out and play. I know that my parents
have a good reason for the rules they set. They want me
to grow up an upright and responsible person.
6. I am very thankful to my parents for teaching
me obedience. Now, I do all my chores willingly and
gladly.
7. Each of us is a member of a family. It is
important to have a close-knit family. A close-knit
family maintains respect for its members. This
respect is shown by the children to their parents by
being obedient.
8. We show obedience by following the rules our
parents set at home and by helping do chores. We
should help keep home a happy and clean place to
live in.
