2. Open-mindedness
It means accepting that
peoples will always have
different opinions on issues
and learning to listen as
away of showing respect.

3. Learning What
is Good
There are moments when we feel like we want to
disagree with the person who is speaking, but if
we are open-minded, we wait for our turn to
speak. While waiting, we try to understand and
consider what other person is saying.
Keeping an open mind is never easy for
it requires us to accept ideas that are new to us or
different from ours. Moreover, we do not just
accept these ideas, we also try to understand
them the best we can. We also get scared of the
possibility that our ideas are wrong or that there
are things we do not understand, but open-
mindedness leads to understanding and new
learnings. By listening to what others saying, we
understand them better. We avoid
misunderstandings and useless arguments. We
also gain new knowledge that can be very useful
to the improvement of our lives and the growth of
our nation.
5. Now You Know
Having different ideas does not mean cutting ties or ending
friendships. You can still be friends with people who have different
likes and dislikes from you. You understand that differences make
friendships grow because friends learn from each other. There will
always be something interesting to talk about and share with one
another. You respect the ideas of your friends because they also
respects yours. We listen to each other when we speak and express
our views as respectfully as we can. Opening our minds to each
other’s views and opinions allows us to enjoy being together.
6. “On this battlefield, man has
no other better weapon than
his intelligence, no other
force but his heart.”
- Jose P. Rizal
