Class Rules?
There are 4 Class Rules
1.   Use appropriate communication skills

2.   Stay on task

3.   Respect each other

4.   Respect Your Own and Other People’s
     Property
Use Appropriate
Communication Skills
   Talk with a friendly tone
   Raise your hand and wait your turn before talking
   Select appropriate word choices
   Remain on topic and talk only about content from
    class
   Use body language (and facial expressions) that
    show respect for others
   Be truthful
   Gain colleagues’ attention politely
   Talk using with effective volume
Stay On Task
   Assignments are to be completed and turned
    in a timely manner.
   In addition, you should be working
    independently unless instructed otherwise.
   According to the activity, you should be:
       Listening
       Writing
       Reading
       Talking on topic
       Sitting up
       Maintaining eye contact
       Stay awake and engaged
Respect Each Other
 Allow each person in the room enough
  space for them to feel comfortable
 Prevent confrontations
 Appreciate diversity and uniqueness
 Nurture colleagues and encourage their
  success
Respect Your Own and Other
People’s Property
   Keep your notebook organized
   Ask before handling things that do not belong to
    you
   Keep the classroom clean
   Put personal belongings in a safe place so that
    they stay “out of the way”
   Put personal belongings in a safe place to prevent
    them from getting “messed up”
   Be responsible for taking your personal belongings
    home
   Leave the classroom in better shape than it was
    when you came in
   Own your work
Negative Consequences
If a student is not following class rules, the student may be
assigned:
 lunch detention
 after-school detention,
 their parents contacted


Failure to comply with classroom or school rules will result
in:
 a referral to an administration
 in-school suspension
 out-of-school suspension or expulsion


During the introduction of the course, students will act out
both examples and non-examples of each of the classroom
rules.
Positive Consequences
 Good    grade which will boost up your GPA
 Phone calls and notes to your parents
 Privileges at home and school
 More learning
 Happy classroom
 Teacher’s trust to take you on field trips
 Movie, game, or cipher time

  • 2. There are 4 Class Rules 1. Use appropriate communication skills 2. Stay on task 3. Respect each other 4. Respect Your Own and Other People’s Property
  • 3. Use Appropriate Communication Skills  Talk with a friendly tone  Raise your hand and wait your turn before talking  Select appropriate word choices  Remain on topic and talk only about content from class  Use body language (and facial expressions) that show respect for others  Be truthful  Gain colleagues’ attention politely  Talk using with effective volume
  • 4. Stay On Task  Assignments are to be completed and turned in a timely manner.  In addition, you should be working independently unless instructed otherwise.  According to the activity, you should be:  Listening  Writing  Reading  Talking on topic  Sitting up  Maintaining eye contact  Stay awake and engaged
  • 5. Respect Each Other  Allow each person in the room enough space for them to feel comfortable  Prevent confrontations  Appreciate diversity and uniqueness  Nurture colleagues and encourage their success
  • 6. Respect Your Own and Other People’s Property  Keep your notebook organized  Ask before handling things that do not belong to you  Keep the classroom clean  Put personal belongings in a safe place so that they stay “out of the way”  Put personal belongings in a safe place to prevent them from getting “messed up”  Be responsible for taking your personal belongings home  Leave the classroom in better shape than it was when you came in  Own your work

Negative Consequences If a student is not following class rules, the student may be assigned:  lunch detention  after-school detention,  their parents contacted Failure to comply with classroom or school rules will result in:  a referral to an administration  in-school suspension  out-of-school suspension or expulsion During the introduction of the course, students will act out both examples and non-examples of each of the classroom rules.
