Two American legacies in the Philippines were religious freedom, which allowed people to choose their religion freely and built upon indigenous culture, and education, which helped spread Filipino cultural values and English while forming a national identity. Two Japanese legacies were enforcing strict curfews during their occupation and introducing medicine, posters, and leaflets that advanced technology while the Filipino people learned from their experiences.
