This paper presents comparative study of various conventional controllers such as Proportional (P), Proportional
Derivative (PD), Proportional integral (PI) and Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller for a speed
control of a Separately Excited Direct Current (SEDC) motor by using MATLAB / SIMULINK. All controllers
have their specific function for a particular task. The speed control normally done by feedback loop or closed
loop. The aim of development of this paper is towards providing efficient and simple method for controlling the
speed. The auto - tuning method are used to for this paper to control the speed. Among all this controllers PI
controller are frequently utilized in industries as compared to PID because Derivative action are sensitive to
noise, though PID controller will improve the steady state error. Additionally it produces less overshoot,
decreasing rise time and settling time. The MATLAB simulation are analysed and compared by using the auto
tuning method.

The objective of this paper is to compare the time specification performance between conventional
controller and Fuzzy Logic controller in position control system of a DC motor. The scope of this research
is to apply direct control technique in position control system. Two types of controller namely PID and
fuzzy logic PID controller will be used to control the output response. This paper was written to reflect on
the work done on the implementation of a fuzzy logic PID controller. The fuzzy controller was used to
control the position of a motor which can be considered for a general basis in any project design
containing logic control. Motor parameters were taken from a datasheet with respect to a real motor and a
simulated model was developed using Matlab Simulink Toolbox. The fuzzy control was also designed using
the Fuzzy Control Toolbox provided within Matlab, with each rule consisting of fuzzy sets conditioned to
provide appropriate response times with regards to the limitations of our chosen motor. The Fuzzy
Inference Engine chosen for our control was the Mamdani Minimum Inference engine. The results of the
control provided response times suitable for our application.

One of the most essential work of the control engineer is tuning of controller. Majority of the controller used in industry are of the
PID type. An auto tuning is one of the method of controller tuning in which tuning of the parameters of controller is done
automatically and possibly, without any user interaction expect from initiating the operation. Present study emphasis on the relay
based auto tuning of PID controller. An auto-tuning method is implemented based on a relay experiment to determine the ultimate
gain and the ultimate period, with which the PID parameters are obtained using the Ziegler-Nichols tuning rules. An auto tuning
of robot arm model and magnet levitation model are carried out. Performance of relay based auto tuning on the basis of integral
square error is better than artificial neural network.

Model Order Reduction of an ISLANDED MICROGRID using Single Perturbation, Dir...
This document discusses using model order reduction techniques to simplify the model of an islanded microgrid system from 6th order to lower order approximations. It evaluates three methods: single perturbation, direct truncation, and particle swarm optimization. Single perturbation and direct truncation are used to reduce the model to 4th order, while particle swarm optimization further reduces it to 2nd order. The responses of the reduced models are compared to the original 6th order model, showing that even the 2nd order model reduced using particle swarm optimization provides an improved response.

This document presents a study comparing the performance of PID, Fuzzy-PID, and ANFIS controllers for load frequency control in a two-area power system integrated with a superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) unit. Simulation results show that the ANFIS-PID controller provides the best dynamic response with the lowest overshoot and undershoot and fastest settling time for both frequency deviation and tie-line power deviation, both with and without the SMES unit. The addition of the SMES unit further improves the system performance for all three controllers by reducing initial deviations after load disturbances.
IRJET- Modified Cascaded H - Bridge Multilevel Inverter for Household Appliances
This document describes a study on a modified cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter for household appliances. The researchers developed a 9-level single phase inverter using 4 H-bridge cells. They used sinusoidal pulse width modulation to generate switching signals and reduce harmonic distortion. Simulations in MATLAB/Simulink showed the output voltage waveform and total harmonic distortion of 9.12%. A hardware prototype was built and tested to verify the design, demonstrating a 53.9V output voltage with 8.22% total harmonic distortion. The modified topology reduces switching losses and improves output capability compared to other multilevel inverter configurations.

Simulations showed a Class E rectifier achieved lower voltage drop than other options. A Class E inverter was also best suited for this application. The design obtained an efficiency of 83%.
IRJET- Simulation and Analysis of Five Level SPWM Inverter
This document summarizes the simulation and analysis of a five level single phase pulse width modulation (SPWM) inverter. The inverter circuit is divided into three parts: a gate driver circuit to generate control signals by comparing a triangular carrier wave and reference sine wave, the inverter circuit consisting of four IGBTs in an H-bridge configuration, and an external voltage control circuit to vary the collector-emitter voltage of the IGBTs. Simulation results show that a five level inverter produces a multi stepped output voltage waveform and reduces total harmonic distortion compared to a single level inverter, as determined by fast Fourier transform analysis. Higher level inverters could achieve even lower harmonic distortion.

This document describes a proposed low power and high speed voltage sense amplifier circuit. The circuit replaces the back-to-back inverters in a previous design with a dual input single output differential amplifier. This modification improves noise immunity and reduces delay and power consumption. Simulation results show a 24% reduction in delay and 23% reduction in energy usage compared to the previous circuit, while maintaining the same offset voltage. The circuit is designed using a 180nm CMOS process at 1.8V.
Automatic Phase Changer
This document describes an automatic phase changer circuit that can shift the load to an alternate power phase if the voltage drops below a certain level in one of the phases. The circuit uses three identical sets that each correspond to one of the three phases (R, Y, B). Each set includes a transformer, comparator, transistor and relay. The transformer steps down the voltage which is then rectified and used as input for the comparator. The comparator compares this voltage to a reference voltage and triggers the transistor and relay if the phase voltage is low, shifting the load to another phase with sufficient voltage. This automatic switching prevents equipment downtime if one phase loses power.

This document describes a proposed system to control distributed wind and solar generators using an artificial neuro fuzzy interface system (ANFIS) within an energy control center (ECC) architecture based on a multi-agent system. The system would use ANFIS within the ECC to monitor voltages from the distributed generators and control circuit breakers connecting the generators to loads or energy storage like batteries. This would allow the system to optimize energy distribution based on generator output. The multi-agent system would include software agents running on different computers to manage each distributed generator and exchange information through the ECC. MATLAB/Simulink would be used to simulate the system and test ANFIS control of connecting generators to loads.

Embedded machine learning-based road conditions and driving behavior monitoring
Car accident rates have increased in recent years, resulting in losses in human lives, properties, and other financial costs. An embedded machine learning-based system is developed to address this critical issue. The system can monitor road conditions, detect driving patterns, and identify aggressive driving behaviors. The system is based on neural networks trained on a comprehensive dataset of driving events, driving styles, and road conditions. The system effectively detects potential risks and helps mitigate the frequency and impact of accidents. The primary goal is to ensure the safety of drivers and vehicles. Collecting data involved gathering information on three key road events: normal street and normal drive, speed bumps, circular yellow speed bumps, and three aggressive driving actions: sudden start, sudden stop, and sudden entry. The gathered data is processed and analyzed using a machine learning system designed for limited power and memory devices. The developed system resulted in 91.9% accuracy, 93.6% precision, and 92% recall. The achieved inference time on an Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense with a 32-bit CPU running at 64 MHz is 34 ms and requires 2.6 kB peak RAM and 139.9 kB program flash memory, making it suitable for resource-constrained embedded systems.

IRJET- Load Frequency Control in Two Area Power Systems Integrated with S...
This document presents a study comparing the performance of PID, Fuzzy-PID, and ANFIS controllers for load frequency control in a two-area power system integrated with a superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) unit. Simulation results show that the ANFIS-PID controller provides the best dynamic response with the lowest overshoot and undershoot and fastest settling time for both frequency deviation and tie-line power deviation, both with and without the SMES unit. The addition of the SMES unit further improves the system performance for all three controllers by reducing initial deviations after load disturbances.
IRJET- Modified Cascaded H - Bridge Multilevel Inverter for Household Appliances
This document describes a study on a modified cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter for household appliances. The researchers developed a 9-level single phase inverter using 4 H-bridge cells. They used sinusoidal pulse width modulation to generate switching signals and reduce harmonic distortion. Simulations in MATLAB/Simulink showed the output voltage waveform and total harmonic distortion of 9.12%. A hardware prototype was built and tested to verify the design, demonstrating a 53.9V output voltage with 8.22% total harmonic distortion. The modified topology reduces switching losses and improves output capability compared to other multilevel inverter configurations.

Simulations showed a Class E rectifier achieved lower voltage drop than other options. A Class E inverter was also best suited for this application. The design obtained an efficiency of 83%.
IRJET- Simulation and Analysis of Five Level SPWM Inverter
This document summarizes the simulation and analysis of a five level single phase pulse width modulation (SPWM) inverter. The inverter circuit is divided into three parts: a gate driver circuit to generate control signals by comparing a triangular carrier wave and reference sine wave, the inverter circuit consisting of four IGBTs in an H-bridge configuration, and an external voltage control circuit to vary the collector-emitter voltage of the IGBTs. Simulation results show that a five level inverter produces a multi stepped output voltage waveform and reduces total harmonic distortion compared to a single level inverter, as determined by fast Fourier transform analysis. Higher level inverters could achieve even lower harmonic distortion.

This document describes a proposed low power and high speed voltage sense amplifier circuit. The circuit replaces the back-to-back inverters in a previous design with a dual input single output differential amplifier. This modification improves noise immunity and reduces delay and power consumption. Simulation results show a 24% reduction in delay and 23% reduction in energy usage compared to the previous circuit, while maintaining the same offset voltage. The circuit is designed using a 180nm CMOS process at 1.8V.
Automatic Phase Changer
This document describes an automatic phase changer circuit that can shift the load to an alternate power phase if the voltage drops below a certain level in one of the phases. The circuit uses three identical sets that each correspond to one of the three phases (R, Y, B). Each set includes a transformer, comparator, transistor and relay. The transformer steps down the voltage which is then rectified and used as input for the comparator. The comparator compares this voltage to a reference voltage and triggers the transistor and relay if the phase voltage is low, shifting the load to another phase with sufficient voltage. This automatic switching prevents equipment downtime if one phase loses power.

This document describes a proposed system to control distributed wind and solar generators using an artificial neuro fuzzy interface system (ANFIS) within an energy control center (ECC) architecture based on a multi-agent system. The system would use ANFIS within the ECC to monitor voltages from the distributed generators and control circuit breakers connecting the generators to loads or energy storage like batteries. This would allow the system to optimize energy distribution based on generator output. The multi-agent system would include software agents running on different computers to manage each distributed generator and exchange information through the ECC. MATLAB/Simulink would be used to simulate the system and test ANFIS control of connecting generators to loads.

Embedded machine learning-based road conditions and driving behavior monitoring
Car accident rates have increased in recent years, resulting in losses in human lives, properties, and other financial costs. An embedded machine learning-based system is developed to address this critical issue. The system can monitor road conditions, detect driving patterns, and identify aggressive driving behaviors. The system is based on neural networks trained on a comprehensive dataset of driving events, driving styles, and road conditions. The system effectively detects potential risks and helps mitigate the frequency and impact of accidents. The primary goal is to ensure the safety of drivers and vehicles. Collecting data involved gathering information on three key road events: normal street and normal drive, speed bumps, circular yellow speed bumps, and three aggressive driving actions: sudden start, sudden stop, and sudden entry. The gathered data is processed and analyzed using a machine learning system designed for limited power and memory devices. The developed system resulted in 91.9% accuracy, 93.6% precision, and 92% recall. The achieved inference time on an Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense with a 32-bit CPU running at 64 MHz is 34 ms and requires 2.6 kB peak RAM and 139.9 kB program flash memory, making it suitable for resource-constrained embedded systems.

The advantages go beyond sustainability to reach financial support and stability. The work in this paper introduces the hybrid system between PV and EV to support industrial and commercial plants. This paper covers the theoretical framework of the proposed hybrid system including the required equation to complete the cost analysis when PV and EV are present. In addition, the proposed design diagram which sets the priorities and requirements of the system is presented. The proposed approach allows setup to advance their power stability, especially during power outages. The presented information supports researchers and plant owners to complete the necessary analysis while promoting the deployment of clean energy. The result of a case study that represents a dairy milk farmer supports the theoretical works and highlights its advanced benefits to existing plants. The short return on investment of the proposed approach supports the paper's novelty approach for the sustainable electrical system. In addition, the proposed system allows for an isolated power setup without the need for a transmission line which enhances the safety of the electrical network
Advanced control scheme of doubly fed induction generator for wind turbine us...
This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

The aquaponic system of planting is a method that does not require soil usage. It is a method that only needs water, fish, lava rocks (a substitute for soil), and plants. Aquaponic systems are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Its use not only helps to plant in small spaces but also helps reduce artificial chemical use and minimizes excess water use, as aquaponics consumes 90% less water than soil-based gardening. The study applied a descriptive and experimental design to assess and compare conventional and reconstructed aquaponic methods for reproducing tomatoes. The researchers created an observation checklist to determine the significant factors of the study. The study aims to determine the significant difference between traditional aquaponics and reconstructed aquaponics systems propagating tomatoes in terms of height, weight, girth, and number of fruits. The reconstructed aquaponics system’s higher growth yield results in a much more nourished crop than the traditional aquaponics system. It is superior in its number of fruits, height, weight, and girth measurement. Moreover, the reconstructed aquaponics system is proven to eliminate all the hindrances present in the traditional aquaponics system, which are overcrowding of fish, algae growth, pest problems, contaminated water, and dead fish.
