Emergency remote online learning is a natural response by education providers to ensure program sustainability whilst educators and students adapt to this change through time. The instructional design of these courses has also been adapted but limited learning analytics-based studies are available. This paper presents a case study on the instructional design and learning analytics in an online learning course entitled Data Analytics conducted at Telkom University. The course content, activity and assessment structure are discussed as well as the data analytics tools functions provided in the learning management platform used. Additional learning analytics case study is reported on the student’s response and experience.

Google Colab is an effective tool for
programming, especially when you are
in a team and I've been using it for quite
some time now,
Using Zoom, because when using
zoom we can feel face to face and we
can hear the explanation from the
lectures
Google Slides cause it is easier
to do the group project, zoom for
the class courses, and
putramooc for the assignments
Flipgrid because it is new for me
and it is good for us to share the
experience freely.
The one that most significant to me are Power BI. I
think that Power BI really useful, even if I don't
decided to pursue data science, since it can
visualize a data in a way that common tools like
excel can.
Mentimeter is also good and
quite interesting because it
promotes interaction in
between the participants.

12. Assessments
• I think by doing the quiz in putramooc I knew that I still need to improve my knowledge, fortunately I can attempt the quiz one more
time so I can increase my score. In quizizz however, I can try to compete with another participant and test how good my knowledge
is compared to others. As for the games, I think i like the video interactive quiz the most, because I can remember the things taught
in the video by answering the questions.
• when I do the assignment and project because when I do it I can more explore about the material and I can know which material
that I don't understand
• for me, I use all platforms for all assessments like some quiz and activity in putraMOOC, and I also learn many things about the 3
assignment of the project that you give to us
• Quiz in Quizziz improves my understanding on EDA Techniques, games and quiz in PUTRAMOOC also increase my knowledge, the
assignment and projects provides me to explore about EDA Process
• the assessments help me to explore more about the subject and it helps me to understand more easy
• I can understand pretty well through assessments than just listening the explanation in class
• the assessment really help specially the quiz in putramooc because it is not make nervous because of the score but we can know and
test our knowledge
• All the assessments above really contribute and help us to learn more about this course because it force us to learn before we do any
assessment and project regarding this course when we are going to conduct it.
• Quizizz really encourage me to think faster since it is timed. It's a bit exciting to see my progress real-time.
• PutraMOOC is an overall good site to do exam. I particularly liked the fact that it does not log me out in the middle of quiz even
after multiple error connection

14. The most significant memory from learning the course
• Using new application such as Rapid Miner, Power BI and Google Colab
• For me it's learning the data analytics algorithm because it is quite tricky to learn as some algorithm can be used in
the same cases. I also like the explanation for the machine learning model, especially the naive bayes part (though I
don't like mathematics that much).
• when doing the presentation the assignment and the project, because I am afraid that our result is not good.
• to analyzing the dataset we can use some tools which are Google Colab, Power BI and Rapidminer
• When the lecturers support us on our difficulties by using the tools
• building the google colab and rapidminer i think it the most significant memory
• now, i understand about data mining, data analytics, develop, and identify use google cola, rapid miner.
• We are really interactive with the lecturers's method of teaching and they always make us to learn more about this
course.
• And they are very helpful during this course on going until the end.
• The most significant memory for me is when the class took 'Will You Survive Titanic' test. It's important to me to
know the potential use of what I'm about to learn, and that test really made me realize how useful Data Analytics
actually is

16. Suggestions from students
• I suggest that for the programming part to be taught in more detail because some students only copied the
program without understanding what those syntax do. Also, the course needs to pinpoint and provide
understanding of data mining done with CPU or GPU, at least on basic level.
• the application of putramooc is very good
• maybe it can be one person for one project, because it make us learn more deeply about the course
• I think its very interesting and fun if we learn more and practice together about some tools that we need for
this course
• Well, due to coronavirus pandemy, we are forced to study online.. It is a challenge for us and the learning
process is so difficult. Of course suitable learning should be directly learning
• I do think that the most suitable imporvement that is visible is really to extend the overall course length.
Because 2 weeks we just understand maybe just 1/3 of all the courses. And I really do think that having more
hands on experience (Tutorial) for the tools used in data analytics from EDA to Machine learning would
really help student to try to understand how the processes in data analytics are.
• Give us more quizziz quiz maybe it can help us understand more because it is easy to remember and fun
