Leadership Thoughtful Thinking - A Leader
What are the characteristics that makes a good leader? Leader are visionaries, determine,
passionate and always looking to bring out the best potential in the people they are leading. Are
leaders born or develop let me share my story, early as I can remember this driven leadership
was burning inside of me to make sure everything runs smoothly. Staying up late nights on the
computer putting together presentations, preparing the agenda for the week for your staff.
Early morning staff meetings, listening to the voices and feedbacks of the people you’re leading
as a team. Growing a company from an incubator stage into a multi-billion dollar estate takes
great leadership ability. You need people to work together and bring what you envision into a
reality.
Over the last year our company has create a diversified culture through key elements from the
principal’s leadership training style. Here are a few:
o Working with their staff to move the vision forward, a leader is involve with the process
o Leader coaches his team, never leaves this in the dark that’s what a good leader do
o Generates enthusiasm within the team
o Fix the breakdown - They stand strong amongst their staff even when things all falling a
part
o They develop people
o Give Credit to others
o Asks for the team input
o Say’s “Let’s go”
The develop process of a leader asks his team’s input on business decision, even though he/she
will make the final decision the staff is included; letting them experience ownership in the
company which will develop loyal employees. My own definition of leadership is this: The
capacity and the will to rally men and women to a common purpose and the character which
inspires confidence. A few more vital elements as a leader:
o He who has never learned to obey cannot be a good commander.
o A leader is a dealer in hope.
o You don’t need a title to be a leader.
o The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality.
o The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant.
Leader need to create strategies to motivate the people you are leading. How do you envision
your people slaves or you are a servant serving your team using these strategies?
o Make your culture a priority
o Share a positive vision
o Fill the VOID…Often
o Turn negative energy into positive solutions
Let me leave you with this food for thoughts whatever you are not willing to do, give up, be a
part of or live by don’t expect the people you are leading to do the same. A leader is an example;
we send a representative to speak for us “Why” they demonstrate and carry out the vision you
created from an image in your mind and made it a reality; that’s the true ability of a successful
leader.
