a lead acid battery. The lead acid battery is most commonly used in the
power stations and substations because it has higher cell voltage and
lower cost. Lead acid batteries are used as a power source for vehicles
that demand a constant and uninterruptible source of energy. In India the
lead acid battery market is projected to reach 7.6 billion US dollars by
2023.Anticipated growth in the market can be attributed to booming
demand for automobiles and in addition to it the government is focused
on the increase in production of electric vehicles in the country. Moreover,
development of smart grids, continuing technological developments,
increasing budget allocation for housing projects and government

buy the raw materials from the market and manufacture the battery and
directly sells it to the consumer.

12. LAND AND BUILDING REQUIREMENTS
The Land required to set up our production unit has
to be purchased. We plan to purchase 20 cents of
land in the Ernakulam district of Kerala preferably
at a place far away from the town. The location is
easily accessible for transport purposes.
The total area is divided for different purposes as
follows Total land = 800 sq. mt
Build up area = 650 sq. mt
Office and store = 150 sq. mt
Assembly and testing = 200 sq. m

13. LABOUR REQUIRED
• We will require a total of 15 employees which
includes both skilled and unskilled Laborer. We
require 6 top-level Employees and we will be
employing 9 workers of whom 5 are skilled. The

14. LICENSE

registration from the Central Government. The

individuals who have an aggregate annual
turnover of more than Rs.20 lakhs in most State
and Rs.10 lakhs in Special Category States are
required to obtain GST Registration

Establishments Act”, was created for regulating the conduct
of business like the hours of work, child labor, payment of
wages, safety and general health of the employees. Shop
and Establishment Act license or registration is issued by
the State Governments and varies from States
• STATE POLLUTION CONTROL BOARDS (SPCB):There are
State Pollution Control Boards at various state capitals of
the country to advise respective state governments to
control and protect environment. State Pollution Control
Board (SPCB) Every existing and new industry is required to
obtain the authorization from the State Pollution Control
Board (SPCB) to commence the business further
