This document describes several demonstrations of Cisco Data Plane (DP) and OpenDataPlane (ODP) running on various hardware platforms. It shows DP taking advantage of ODP's acceleration capabilities on ARM and x86 architectures. Applications like IPsec routing, layer 2 forwarding, and Snort IDS are ported to use ODP. Network functions are isolated from the Linux kernel. ODP also interfaces with Open vSwitch and supports DPDK and Netmap for packet I/O acceleration. Performance counters are accessed directly from userspace.
