Sir Isaac Newton was an influential English physicist and mathematician in the 17th century. He published his book "Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica" in 1687, which laid the foundations for classical mechanics. Newton formulated three laws of motion: 1) An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. 2) The relationship between an object's mass, its acceleration, and the applied force. 3) For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
