Swot Analysis Of Slawsa
Slawsa: Try the latest condiment to hit the markets it s a flavor revolution Slawsa is a
condiment revolution in taste and texture that is in a category all its own. This product was
recently introduced to us by Julie Busha. Julie took an old family recipe and decided it was so
good it should be marketed, and that is just what she did. Slawsa is owned by The Busha Group,
LLC and registered though and manufactured for Nicole Foods , located in Cramerton, North
Carolina. What started out as a simple recipe for the family has changed the way the world will
now look at condinments in the future. The mixture of ingredients in this sensational spread are not

There are pages containing delicious recipes ranging from; appetizers, side dishes, meals,
brunches, beverages and dip recipes to try. Slawsa may seem slightly more expensive than most
relishes, ketchups or burger toppings ranging around the $4.00 mark per jar, but it is absolutely
worth the listed price. Each jar holds one pound (sixteen ounces) of the the gourmet topping.
When serving this food product, a little goes a long way making your investment last a lot
longer than the traditional relish used in the past. If ordering online, remember Slawsa is
shipped in packs of six, twelve or twenty four jars. The shipping cost is a flat rate of $10.00 to

Steve Prefontaine Research Paper
Hard Work Makes Champions On January 25, 1951, one of America s greatest runners was
born, Steve Prefontaine. He was a very determined young man. His free time was almost always
spent running on the beach, dunes, golf courses, pretty much everywhere. He ran four to eight
miles a day. His hard work finally payed off when he won the Oregon State title, during his junior
year. This shows you can accomplish anything as long as you work your hardest and set your
mind to it. Steve was born and raised in Coos Bay, Oregon, by his mother, Elfriede, and father, Ray
Prefontaine. In the book, Pre: The Story of America s Greatest RunningLegend, Steve Prefontaine,
Tom Jordan describes Pre as an, active youngster, (Jordan 5). Throughout grade school, Steve was
often teased about his hyperactivity, and how slow he learned. During junior high, Pre was a
football benchwarmer, for he was only five feet tall and one hundred pounds. He was often
discriminated against because of his height, which is why he stayed on the bench a majority of the
time. Once Steve became a Freshman at Marshfield High School, he decided to join the cross
country team (25). Prefontaine trained extremely hard throughout winter season and got fifth...

Review Of The Balcony Scene From The Movie Schindler s List
In the Balcony Scene from the movie Schindler s List a man named Amon Goeth, a cruel and
committed Nazi soldier who runs a Nazi work camp, is sitting on the balcony of his house which
overlooks the workcamp he is in charge of and all of the Jews who are workers at the camp.
This scene conveys the smaller scale version of a much larger scale event and genocide. This
scene depicts the overall systematic approach at a genocide of the larger scale event of World War
II. Human rights that were violated from this scene are; Article 5 which states that no one shall
be subjected to torture or to cruel inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment this Act was
violated in this scene because the punishment for small things such as tying your shoe or taking
a small rest after working all day would be death. Article 18 states that everyone has the right to
freedom of thought, conscience and religion this Act was violated because Jews were being
treated unfairly because of their religious beliefs. Article 24 states that everyone has the right to
rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay
this Act was violated because, in the work camps, Jews were overworked and underfed. Article 25
states that everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well being of
himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care, and necessary social

An Investigation into Primary School Physical Education
An Investigation into Primary School Physical Education
This report will provide a concise investigation into the developmental stages of physical
education. Whilst this assignment will provide an overview of the subject in primary schools at
present, it will also go on to investigate into the issue of teaching on a practical basis and also look
at how physical education can develop a child. Using the information gathered from primary and
secondary research, which was conducted whilst attending a primary school as a six week work
placement, the latter stages will provide some critique and offer some recommendations to how

The government has a major role, and although it is not an intention to delve into the government s
involvement in physical education, it is necessary to mention their ambitions to constantly improve
both the teaching and learning of physical education. This ambition can be represented through the
numerous teaching schemes, courses and initiatives that have also been made available by
organisations such the Physical Education Association (PEA) as reported latter on in the
assignment. Furthermore the government have the responsibility for deciding on the cornerstone
set of guidelines known as the National Curriculum.

Theme Of Flash Fiction
Stephan King once stated, We make up horror to help us cope with the real ones. The three texts,
The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, The Nicest Kid in the Universe by Chuck Rosenthal, and
Charlotte s Back by Sydney Kennedy, all include this theme of horror. Horror is this intense feeling
of fear, shock, or disgust and many authors choice this feel for their stories because there is such
a demand for it. We all have this built up fear and horror and movies and books include horror

Kennedy also borrowed the train crash which she transformed to a car crash, which both
resulted in death. In the text it states, It was he who had been in the newspaper office when
intelligence of the railroad disaster was received, with Brently Mallard s name leading the list
killed. This quote shows how Kennedy effectively took the train accident, and turned into a fatal
car crash, which in this day in age is more relevant. She cohesively included both borrowed
elements quite effectively. In Charlotte s Back it indicates a sense of fear and horror in the
reader. For example, the text states, She was covered in blood, her eyes were red, and her pink
dress was cut and mangled. This quote explains how Kennedy included graphic elements and
descriptions to frighten the reader. Gothic elements and were also included into the the work.
The gloomy ad ominous setting of the insane asylum gave off a mysterious and gothic feel.
Kennedy also included supernatural elements to hit on the the horror genre. Charlotte reappeared
as a ghost and came back to haunt and kill her father, which fits right into the gothic feel of the
story. These gothic elements, such as the ghost, are also some of Kennedy s childhood fears. She
once stated in an interview that she always believed as a child that her baby dolls moved and were
real. It even got to the point where she had to throw them away. She used this childhood fear

Flexibility: Flexibility is required not just to start any venture but also to run the same
successfully. Because of the rapid changing business and social environments today one has to be
flexible for an ultimate success in any filed of his life. Creativity: As discussed earlier also
creativity is considered as one of the main building block of any entrepreneur but the recent studies
have shown that its not the sole criterion anymore. Planning: Planning is important to beat the
deadlines and to prevent the wastage of recourses involved in any kind of venture. a venture can
sustain without planning as well but planning can make any venture much more effective and
efficient. Initiative: Extroversion and being initiative goes side by side the importance of this
parameter is captured beautifully in a single line in this test Many individuals who intend to
become self employed simply never end up in business just because they couldn t take the
initiative. Independence: sense of independence can be one of the driving forces that lead to
entrepreneurship. Various studies show that a strong need of financial independence is one of the
most common characteristic of entrepreneurs worldwide. Purpose: The purpose here reflects the
outlook of the applicant towards owning a business; whether he/she is looking for independence of

Differences Between The Federal And Federal Court System
Two Separate Justice Systems The U.S. Constitution created a strong government structure for the
United States known as federalism. Both the federal and state governments must have their own
court systems to apply and interpret their own specific laws. Both federal and state constitutions
attempt to do this by specifically spelling out the jurisdiction of their own court systems. For
example, U.S Constitution gives Congress the power to make uniform laws concerning
bankruptcies, a state court would lack jurisdiction in this matter. Since the Constitution does not
give the federal government authority in most matters concerning the regulation of the family, a
federal court would lack jurisdiction in a divorce case. This is the main reason why there are two
separate court systems in America. The federal court system deals with issues of law relating to
those powers implicitly granted to them by the U.S. Constitution. The state court systems deal with
issues of laws relating to those matters that the U.S. Constitution did not give to the federal
government or deny to the states. Differences in the Structure of the Federal and State Court
Systems. The Federal Court System: The U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal,
and the U.S. Supreme Court are governed by Article III of the US Constitution. They also include
two special courts: (a) the U.S. Court of Claims and (b) the U.S. Court of International Trade. Often

The advantages of using the microcontroller is the reduction of the cost and also the use of extra
hardware such as the use of timer RAM and ROM can be avoided. This technology is very fast so
controlling of multiple parameters is possible; also the parameters are field programmable by the
user. The electrical engineering and its applications are the oldest streams of Engineering. Though
these systems are quite reliable and cheaper, it has certain disadvantages. The electro mechanical
protection relays are too bulky and needs regular maintenance. The multifunctional is out of
question. Recently, the technical revolution made embedded technology cheaper, so that it can be
applied to all the fields.
2. Objective of the project The Automatic Power factor Correction device is a very useful device
for improving efficient transmission of active power. If the consumer connect inductive load, then
the power factor lags, when the power factor goes below 0.97(lag) then the Electric supply
company charge penalty to the consumer. So it is essential to maintain the Power factor within a
limit. Automatic Power factor correction device reads the power factor from voltage and current,
calculating the compensation requirement switch on different capacitor banks. So in our work we

Cell Division Writing Outline
Writing Outline
Cell division is the process in which one cell, called the parent cell, divides to form two new cells,
referred to as daughter cells. How this happens depends on whether the cell is prokaryotic or
eukaryotic. There are differences of cell division for prokaryotes and eukaryotes cells. Cell division
is simpler in prokaryotes than eukaryotes because prokaryotic cells themselves are simpler.
Prokaryotic cells have a single circular chromosome, no nucleus, and a few other organelles.
Eukaryotic cells, in contrast, have multiple chromosomes which are contained within their nucleus,
and many other organelles. In eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, all of these cell parts must be
duplicated and then separated when the cell divides. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mitosis is the process in which the duplicated genome in a cell is separated into halves that are
identical, which results in the growth and development of new cells. Mitosis can occur without
cytokinesis, forming single cells with multiple nuclei (Ex: certain fungi and slime moulds).
Mitosis occurs in four phases, one of which is Cytokinesis. Cytokinesis is the process where the
cytoplasm of the cell divides to form two daughter cells and ensures that the chromosome numbers
are maintained in the cell. During Cytokinesis, the cytoplasm of a cell is divided into two. The
result is the formation of two daughter cells, each having a nucleus. Apart from the nuclei,
Cytokinesis also results in the passing of cellular organelles equally between the two daughter
cells. Since some of the molecules bind to the chromosomes, each daughter cell receives an equal
share of the cytoplasmic components. Mitosis involves the division and duplication of the cell s
nucleus or separation of duplicated chromosomes whereas cytokinesis involves the division of the
cytoplasm to form two distinct, new daughter cells. Mitosis also takes more time to complete than
cytokinesis

Compare And Contrastive And Deductive Reasoning
The inductive and deductive reasoning seems dissimilar to each other from all accounts. Inductive
reasoning involves a scientist using series of correlated observations to reach or infer a conclusion
while deductive reasoning involves predicting a specific result by following existing laws and
general concepts that support a conclusion (OpenStax College, Rice University, 2013). So,
considering the definition of inductive reasoning and the definition of deductive reasoning and their
mode of operations highlighted above, they are apparently different from each other. In comparing
and contrasting both approaches, inductive reasoning focuses on observation while deductive
reasoning considers the generally accepted facts to ascertain the authenticity of a specific case.
With the obvious difference in their modus operandi, inductive and deductive reasoning both use
hypothesis, tests, repetitions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two methods can, as a matter of fact, be complementary when used in experiments. In other
words, the top down logic of the deductive reasoning can be supported by the bottom up logic of
the inductive reasoning. In addition, it may be necessary to evaluate which approach is best for
getting the required findings. The observational approach used by inductive reasoning can be
solidified by the evidence gathered from the test results of a supported hypothesis. This, in my
opinion, is what an intelligent scientist should do when working on a specific experiment. In an
attempt to find a solution or answer tough questions regarding scientific or biological matters, it
would be unwise or unnecessary to apply rigidity in using any of the discussed methods as both are
complementary to each

A well rounded student is capable of thriving in all areas in and out of school. We really have
done a disservice to students by not allowing them to be exposed to this type of learning. It s not
academic, but it creates an environment for abstract thinking. That reaches into everything and
creates a foundation. Foundations help you grow and expand your horizon. Carmody, John.
Personal Interview. March 4th, 2016. Mr. Carmody made a very good point when he stated that
it is not academic. In order to create a well rounded student who is fully prepared to make the
best possible decisions in their lives, they need to be taught how to succeed academically as
well as practically in a real world setting. People should learn these skills [so that they can] be
educated consumers. You should not be blind on one side. When people go and buy a car, they
really only know how to start the car and maybe change a tire. But if we teach them more, they
will be able to make a more educated decision on what will best suit their needs. Carmody, John.

I saw that the law affects how people view the world, but I also learned that the past is the
greatest signifier of how people are viewed socially and legally. It gave me a clear perspective of
the interplay between race, society, and law. Through this knowledge, I became motivated to assist
people in navigating through this cycle. Although our country has problems it also awards people
(me), the means to effect change through direct action and knowledge. As a result, I am driven to
create change on an individual level through community service and volunteer work.
Inspired by my passion to create change, I volunteered as an AmeriCorps VISTA. I committed to

Differences Between Divergent And The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games takes place in a post civil war country that has been divided into 12 districts.
Katniss Everdeen lives in district 12 and competes in the yearly Hunger Games. She is not given
a choice in this matter. Once she wins, she rebels against the government and fights to fix the
districts. Divergent, a series by Veronica Roth, is a failed Utopia where each person has to
choose which faction they want to be a part of for the rest of their life. Tris chooses Dauntless, and
then discovers she is Divergent, a rare trait that could lead to being disowned by her society. This
helps her to rebel against the governmentthat is controlling people in her faction.
While both The Hunger Games and Divergent are dystopian series with female leads that rebel and
lose family, in Divergent the characters have more choice in their destiny while in the Hunger
Games they live in fear of their future.
The Hunger Games, A book series by Suzanne Collins, differs in few ways from Veronica Roth s
Divergent. The Hunger Games lead role, Katniss Everdeen, lives in a world of few choices. The
government controls the lives of everybody in the 12 districts. When Katniss little sister, Primrose,
is chosen to fight in the annual Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She is forced
to fight and forced to kill, all to survive. This competition results in the people fearing not only their
government, but also their futures. Katniss becomes a symbol of rebellion against the

Summary Of Invisible Man, Hamlet, And Crime And Punishment
Out of all the books we ve read this year, in my opinion Invisible Man, Hamlet, and Crime and
Punishment did the best job of showing me what the world outside education was like. These
books do the best job because they depict very different lives from mine: they are narrated by
men, one African American, one Russian, and one Danish royalty three identities that I do not
claim for myself. If we re going to learn about the world, I might as well learn about worlds other
than my own (which I d say I m pretty familiar with). A common theme throughout the books I ve
chosen is a problem with the binaries society presents us, whether it be racial, moral or internal.
The conflicts addressed in these books often spring from a failure to find a balance, or an endeavor
to find out where in the middle you belong. Crime and Punishmentis a prime example of the
dangers of seeing in black and white. Raskolnikov s existence is a grey area, because although he s
a murderer, the reader is sort of rooting for him. To me, Crime and Punishment is about the different
tones moralitycan take. Raskolnikov is a murderer, but to him, and maybe some of the readers, he
is justified in his act. This crime doesn t define him as a moral or immoral person, that is for the
reader to decide. Sonya is a similar example of the fluidity of morality, because she s a prostitute,
but does so to help her family and also provides crucial moral guidance to Rodya. Although I have
no moral qualms with

Why Should Balloon Be Banned
Balloons are a very enjoyable thing. But they might have a dark side. They are harmful to many of
our earth s environmental factors, such as, wildlife, natural resources, and toddlers could be very
affected by them as well. This is why balloons should be banned.
Balloons are a negative impact on wildlife. They effect a lot of sea creatures, because many sea
animals mistake them for food. According to the text, dead whales and sea turtles have been
found with pieces of balloons in their stomachs. Birds are affected by them too. According to the
article, Birds get tangled in the strings. When birds get tangled in these strings, it kills them
because they can t fly. When you let them go, as a tradition it affects wildlife in bad ways.... Show

Helium is a very useful resource and balloons are taking way too much. According to the text,
Helium is also a rare natural resource; the known supply of it on earth is limited. We could be
using it for many other things. According to Should Balloons Be Banned, It even helps send
rockets into space Helium is a recourse that we need to stop wasting on balloons.
Although balloons can be a fun party decoration, if you don t be careful when they pop, babies
could choke on them. According to the text, Balloons bring people so much joy. But when a
younger relative has to go to the doctor because they swallowed bits of balloons, they might not be
as much fun. Babies could be harmed. According to the text, Children can choke or suffocate on
uninflated or broken balloons When you choke you could die. Therefore balloons are negative
because they harm babies.
In conclusion, balloons should be banned because they harm wildlife, they take up a natural
resource that we are running out of, and they kill toddlers. Although balloons are very fun to be
around, they are negative towards many other

Epilogue About Mama
Chapter One As the noon sun faded into afternoon shadows, a gentle summer breeze rustled the
white silk curtains as Mama and I sat at the dining table with the turkey platter between us. I
remember the sweet smell of Honeysuckle filled the air, as I watched Mama gently trace every
broken piece of the platter with her fingertip that was set in glue, now hardened and yellowed by
time. For a bit, she just sat there looking at the old thing until her eyes brimmed with tears. When
I reached out to comfort her, she looked up with a faraway smile (buried somewhere in the past)
and said, I m okay baby sweet memories always make me cry. Then she began to share the

Negative Effects Of Immigration
All they do is break families apart and bring mental health issues to the children involved. This is
called deportation. Deportation is to expel a foreigner from a country on grounds of illegal status,
and this happens in America frequently. Does deportation affect Americans positively or
negatively? Many say that having all these illegal immigrants in America just costs America money
and it takes away money and jobs that would otherwise be for U.S. citizens. While others disagree
and say that immigrants have helped the economy greatly and if they are deported the economy

deportation are the families of mixed status that are being broken apart.
In an article about the families involved with deportation the claim of the authors is that deportation
has many negative effects on the citizen children of immigrants. The authors point out that the
separation of these mixed status families causes many mental illnesses for these kids that put their
lives on pause. The authors claim is that because these children were born in American soil they all

demonstrates throughout the article that even though these children were born here in America,
they often don t get the citizenship right because of

The Everglades Research Paper
The Everglades is a vast region that stretches from the Kissimmee River to Lake Okeechobee and
is filled with a unique and world famous ecosystem that is exclusive to the rest of the world. It is
located in southern Florida and takes up 1.5 million of the land. While there are many diverse
species, there are around 500 human inhabitants. This region is one of the largest wetlands in the
US and the only existing Evergladesin the entire world. Because of this and other pressing factors,
about one fifth of the Everglades are protected by the Everglades National Park. The fact that the
Everglades are one of kind also means that anything that happens not only affects itself locally, but
also nationally and globally. And now, there are many problems... Show more content on

The Native Americans, also known as the Calusa and the Seminoles, had made their refuge in
the Everglades. Later on, after the Seminole Wars (1817 1858), English settlers had begun to
invade the Everglades landscape. They saw the Everglades as useless and in desperate need of
help. The settlers started to build canals and irrigation systems, directing the water toward them
and disrupting the Everglades natural flow. They plowed over the land and quickly, the
Everglades started to shrink. These developments had a strong effect on the local area as well as
the world as its only Everglades began to diminish. When the people started to notice the impact
of their actions on the Everglades, they finally decided to do something about it. In 1934, the
Everglades National Park was authorized. Its aim is to protect what is left of the Everglades
because of its importance to the environment and also to us. There are about 500 human inhabitants
(recorded in 2004) living in the Everglades today. These people depend on the elements within this
vast ecosystem. Surrounding communities also depend on the features of the Everglades. Water
from Everglades National Park and other areas, drains into the Biscayne Aquifer, which is the
source of drinking water for Dade, Broward and some Palm Beach County residents. Meaning more
than 7.7 million people depend on the Everglades for drinking water. Without the Everglades

The Joy Luck Club Socratic Seminar Questions
The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan, exposes the paradoxical relationships between Chinese immigrant
mothers and their American raised daughters. Although both sides experience their own strife in
life, the mothers are probably most notable for their struggle in assimilating to society. Given that
they are the first generations to have contact with the unfamiliar culture, they must set foot onto
the foreign land and sustain a stable life in order to provide for her children and give them a
prosperous life. The mothers are required to adapt to the language, environment, social roles, and
etc. Flexibility and adaptability varies from person to person. Before the novel begins, Tan
introduces the story with a brief prologue about a Shanghai women and her swan. Her prior
expectations before coming to America was crushed entirely by the reality she later encounters. The
woman sworn to give her American raised daughter the swan feather and tell her [the story] in

for many people who move to another country. Culture shock , as the Oxford Dictionary defines it,

experience as an American raised Chinese is somewhat similar to the novel. I lacked an English
background, but I did not experience much

Why Do We Wear A Mask
I hope you guys are ready for a good start. Awesome! As you can clearly see, I am wearing a
mask, hiding my true face and feelings from the society. Who knows what pain and misery I am
going through in my life at the moment! However, who, after all, has not worn a mask on
occasion to conceal their frustration and disappointment? One particular group in our society who
were forced to wear a mask to conceal with true feelings about their situation, was African
Americans during the fight for civil rights. Although we can really not understand exactly what
these individuals went through, obviously we can relate to the concept of wearing a mask in that
we all have a façade that we wear in our daily life. Paul Laurance Dunbar, the son of a slave, has

Black Americans were forced to wear masks to avoid showing their true feelings. Living behind
a mask is nothing but a disguise a disguise of hurtful truths that hid behind faces of African
Americans and that is not the way to live. As communicated through the people, African
Americans wore masks that grin and smile but behind all those grins and smiles, hearts are torn
and souls miserably tortured. Furthermore, the speaker tells us that wearer of the mask wants
freedom from the people who are full of guile and force them to wear mask just to lie. They need
to become free from all this mistreatment and discrimination. They want to have the same rights
and equality as the rest of the people in this world. It is important to note that when you
specifically know Dunbar s background, you are able to make this specific meaning about the
plight of African Americans, however this poem also has a universal nature. As we have already
established, we all wear masks at one time or another and so the feelings communicated by the
speaker of this poem resonate with

Essay on Ethnography on Cambodian Americans
I chose Cambodian Americans for my target culture because it was a place I knew very little
about. My ignorance of that side of the world is laughable to say the least. Cambodian American
was a great choice because both the people and the culture are very captivating to me. While some
Cambodian Americans become very westernized, accepting most of America s cultural norms,
some hold strong to their Cambodian traditions and way of life. Through Geert Hofstedes

While most Cambodian Americans are loyal to their own family units it is not uncommon for them
to be hesitant about close interaction with strangers even other Cambodians. The hesitation that
some Cambodian Americans face when meeting with strangers is due to the fact that the
Cambodian culture is one of high power distance. Hierarchy is determined usually by age or
economic status. Social hierarchy of age is evident in the greetings. Depending on who you are
greeting determines the type of greeting. If one were to greet someone who is Cambodian, they
should do the formal put hands together and bow. At chest level to someone who is of the same
age or status, at mouth level to a superior such as a boss and at nose level to someone who is an
elder, such as a grandparent. (Vorani) If greeting someone who isn t Cambodian, we just
normally do the American hi while waving. It just really depends. For the Cambodian culture,
we have to make sure we greet using again the hands together while bowing especially to those
who are older than your parents. You also have to say a formal saying in Khmer but I forgot the
translation for it in one must to refer them as ming , bou , or orm . This is based on both age and

young and the old. (Serpa)

Injustice In Selma
Selma, directed by Ava DuVernay, is a depressingly relevant film. With protests over the murders
of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and Antonio Martin, the subject of police brutality, specifically
targeted at black people and protesters, is extremely appropriate. The brutalities inflicted on
African Americans in the 1960 s are highly shocking, but it is the knowledge that citizens are still
being murdered by our police that truly hits the hardest. Director Ava DuVernay uses intimate
moments and talented actors to adeptly balance the moral lessons inherent to this story with the
humanization of the venerated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The film covers a fairly short period of
time during the year 1965; during this time period, Dr. King (played by David Oleyowo) was

This look into the inner life of King and his family adds another level of depth and contrast to the
story, giving the viewer something to empathize with. This sense of empathy is crucial when
appealing to an audience in awe of Dr. King. Additionally, these personal family scenes have FBI
logs superimposed over them, a great touch that adds a certain insidiousness to these heartfelt
moments, the knowledge that their lives are in danger even from their government. David
Oleyowo s portrayal of Martin Luther King Jr. is uncannily close to the real historical figure;
this is most apparent in the scenes of Dr. King giving a speech, as most of us have heard at least
one of King s speeches, giving us a point of comparison. Selma was nominated in the Best
Picture category at the Oscars, but in my opinion, Oleyowo was even more deserving of a
nomination in the Best Male Actor category. As a sidenote, the complete lack of people of color
nominated for acting awards in this year s Oscars is a travesty unto itself, but it is especially so in
my eyes after this movie. This film made it all the more apparent that there

The New World Of Avatar
I agree that New Worlds need to be strikingly visual in order to make an impact because at the
end of the day, any art form or media needs to gain attention and attract viewers. A strikingly
visual setting, when done right can tell many stories. New World media involves a lot of fantasy
as it is a striking, and an innovate way to view one s worldin the context of another world. Avatar
is one example of a New World media that is strikingly visual and has had a huge impact in the
movie industry, not only because it grossed over 2 billion dollars worldwide but because of the
new age technology needed to create such a masterpiece and the themes involved in the final
product. The themes highlighting colonization, and it s affect on the natives, or in this case, the
Na vi. all very similar to the real life aspects, but done in the form of fantasy so it is taking in a
place of fiction. Another example of a strikingly visual form of New World media is photography
and Michael Cook s photography, which incorporates fantasy and reality to bring light to social
issues and various injustices that occurred due to colonization.
James Cameron s Avatar being in 3D was one element that contributed to the stiking visualization
of the movie. 3D visualizations attract viewers because 3D is the natural form of vision for
predators. Stereoscopic 3D vision contributes to a sharper and more insightful trajectory
interception, hence the reason viewers are more drawn to 3D movies than 2D ones.

Naked Lunch Play Analysis
Naked Lunch
Naked Lunch is a play written by Michael Hollinger that talks about a couple that has been drifting

play starts, Vernon sees that Lucy isn t eating; rather playing with the food. Vernon confronts her
and she admits that she became a vegetarian after they have broken up. But, it was something she
had been thinking about and wanted to do, even when she was in the relationship with Vernon.

What I mean is, there is a deeper meaning that we have to understand. As I read the play multiple
times, I finally understood the deeper meaning behind it. One example would be that as the
couple was drifting apart, it shows a huge change on Lucy s side. When she stops eating meat, it
shows that she wants to be a better version of herself because she can now live the better and
healthier life of herself without having someone to stop her. That explains why she wanted to cut
Vernon out of her life. But, he doesn t understand why Lucy was pushing him to the side. I think
this is something that happens in relationships every day. A couple will break up and there is
always that one person who doesn t understand why things happen the way they happen and will
become offensive and abusive until things become the way they want. Another metaphor can be
seen from the steak. In the play, Vernon is forcing Lucy to eat the steak as he literally shoves it in
her mouth. That shows that in their relationship, he was controlling because as we can clearly see,
he doesn t value anything she wants or decides on her own. Instead, he tries to find loopholes to
put out what he wants. This also happens in abusive relationships because one person always
makes the decision and if the other person doesn t listen, something bad usually happens, and
sometimes makes it hard for them to be safe if they want to leave the

Impact Of India On The Environment Of Bangladesh
Introduction:
Bangladesh is one of the third world developing country. For developing further this country needs
more energy production. Right now for this country the biggest energy needed is electricity. The
reason of electricity needed is that the most of the equipments which are used for developing are
running by electricity. So it is really a big issue for Bangladesh. To fulfill the continuously increasing
demand for the electricity the government of Bangladesh taken a plan to establish a new proposed
power plant in Rampal which will be run by burning coal. This power plant will cause many types
of impact on environment in Bangladesh. In this assessment we will try to look the technical
/ political / managerial triangulation on this power plant and recognizing more equitable, resilient
and adaptive strategies for developing this power plant more eco friendly.
Technical prospective:
A coal based power plant basically burns coal to produce electricity as a power or energy. Coal
is an one form of fossil fuel. In many developing countries this kind of power plant creates
electricity as power or energy. In this types of power plant converts heat energy of combustion
into electric energy. Waste energy is released to the environment by using cooling tower with
river water as its cooling medium. The flue gas from the combustion of fossil fuel is released to
the air. This flue gas contains CO2 with water vapor, also other substances like NO2, SO2,

Functional Foods And Its Effect On The Risks Of Chronic...
Functional foods are those foods that are beneficial to health and are able to reduce the risks of
chronic diseases. The interest in functional foods has increased in the recent years as people look
for safer way to improve general health and living. In India, despite of low level of public
awareness compared to western markets, functional foods and ingredients are finding huge growth
as consumers switch on to the promise of healthier foods, beverages and supplements.
On the contrary, due to urbanization the increased demand for ready to eat products at reasonable
costs also increased, particularly the bakery products. But in recent times functional foods are
rapidly increasing in popularity in sectors such as dairy products or confectionery, in bakery it is
still relatively underdeveloped. Bread is one such important staple food and the most widely
consumed bakery product all over the world. In bread making, the use of white flour (refined) has
been increased with an aim of improving the aesthetic value of white bread, which in turn led to
drastic reduction in the nutritional density and fiber content when compared to bread made from
whole grain cereals. In recent years, cereals and its ingredients such as beta glucan, arabinoxylan,
resistant starch, oligosaccharides etc are accepted as functional foods and nutraceuticals. Cereals, in
particular oat and barley, offer another alternative for the production of functional foods. By

Nonhuman Primate Communication That Humans Learn Their...
One form of nonhuman primate communication that occurs in the wild is through noises
(Zuberbuhler 6). Most primates have species specific sounds for certain situations (Zuberbuhler 6).
For example, vervet monkeys have different alarm calls for different types of predators
(Zuberbuhler 10). The listeners of these calls respond to each call differently, protecting themselves
from specific predators (Zuberbuhler 10). This means that they are not just reacting to another
monkey being scared, but they know what scared it based on the call the monkey makes. Specific
calls therefore can be said to symbolize specific meanings (Zuberbuhler 10). However, it is not
known whether or not this is intentional or if the monkeys are aware of this. While this would not
necessarily be considered a language, it is one of their natural forms of communication. The human
listeners and nonhuman listeners both interpret arbitrary noises to mean something specific
(Zuberbuhler 11). However, a difference between human language and these primatecalls is that
humans learn their language socially (Zuberbuhler 11). There is no evidence to say that
nonhuman primate calls or sounds are learned socially instead of instinctual (Zuberbuhler 11). In
fact, there is some evidence to support the opposite. Monkeys reared in social isolation produce
basically all their species typical call types from soon after birth (Arbib 1054). This means that
these species specific calls are not taught, but they know them

song says, I m living for the only thing I know, this represents Gatsby s need for Daisy s
approval. He wants to have Daisy so much that he seemed to revalue everything in his
house...according to the response of Daisy. The song also has the lyrics you take all of me, this
represents the stalker quality of Gatsby, and shows that she is his life. Both the song Hanging by a
Moment and Gatsby condone the idea of life being lived through someone else, and without that

Enkidu In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
In the book, The Epic of Gilgamesh, the gods create Enkidu as a counter to Gilgamesh. Enkidu has
similar features to Gilgamesh; he is burly enough that none can withstand his arms and Gilgamesh
did not meet anyone who could do the same (The Epic of Gilgamesh 4). Gilgamesh is captivating
and endearing, but he lacks in practical skills. In the epic, Enkiduis present to enhance Gilgamesh
and to make him a preferable person.
Enkidu represents the innocent of the Epic of Gilgamesh. The innocent is an inaugurated male or
female character that is introduced to the vile of the world. Enkidu was appraise as an innocent of
mankind; he knew nothing of the cultivated land. And he lives in the wild with other untamed

#LoveWins
With the enhancement in technology, it is now accessible to communicate and connect with
people across the world. It is effortless to share information like pictures, advertisements, videos
and text messages all over the world, to whomever you desire. To many people, it is perceived as
a form of entertainment. However, many people do not realize it can also be used as a form of
social activism. Summer Harlow author of Social media and social movements: Facebook and an
online Guatemalan justice movement that moved offline argues that social media is very effective
to create social (online) and physical (offline) activism. While Malcolm Gladwell author of Small
Change: Why the Revolution Will Not Be Tweeted identifies that internet activism is an instant
frenzy that creates a brief impact but is not adequate enough to remain on its own. When media is
used as an intellectual resource for activism it can expose people s conscious about diverse
predicaments or movements occurring around the globe. In today s contemporary society people
had the power to create a significant change in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT)
community by having same sex marriage legalized in all 50 states. The hashtag #LoveWins became
possible in the United States by social and physical activism which included engagement with social
networks.
For many decades the LGBT community have faced bounteous problems, their most

Functions Of A Steady State Exercise Essay
Assign 3794
3.Steady state exercise is the activity where we perform while maintaining the same heart and
muscle movements. Steady state exercise affects many body functions. If the steady state exercise
performed for months consistently, it will increase the overall endurance of an individual. The
below are the certain physiological functions affected during steady state:
Cardiac output: The aerobic exercise performed at steady rate causes the body to increase the
amount of blood pumped by the heart. Cardiac output is determined by stroke volume and heart
rate. The Stroke volume is defined as the quantity of blood pumped at each heart beat, while the
body going from rest to steady state exercise. Cardiac output increases rapidly even more
gradually until it reaches a plateau. By that time we develop an increased number of capillaries,
greater opening of existing capillaries, more effective blood redistribution and increased blood
volume. Due to this, capillaries improve the body ability to deliver oxygen and nutrients to muscle
and also to remove the waste products.
Cardiac output is generally calculated by:
Cardiac output = Heart rate * Stroke volume
Blood pressure: The blood pressure of an individual is affected before and after reaching the
steady state. .There is increase in the systolic and diastolic blood pressure during steady state.
These increases in the pressure represent the pressure in arteries. This pressure is while the heart is
contracting and

The Last Dynasty Of Isin
From 1975 to 1954 BCE, Iddin Dagan ruled the city of Isin, which is located a little south of
Nippur. Iddin Dagan is loved by the gods, especially An, Enki, and Enlil. Because these three gods
favored Iddin Dagan, he was able to have a successful ruling, filled with abundance of agriculture, a
population increase, and a strong military presence. Ultimately, this shows that religion fuels power,
and without a strong religious presence the ruler would not have an impactful kingship, which truly
benefits the people of his realm.
Isin is the last dynasty that is mentioned in the Sumerian King List. Iddin Dagan was the third king
of the first dynasty of Isin. During the twentieth and nineteenth centuries, decentralizing forces
were strong, which led to an increasing number of local dynasties to come to power, such as the
Isin dynasty (Vdm, 90, document 5.2). The dynasty of Isin was started by Ishbi Erra, when he
freed the city of Ur and brought the local dynasty to Isin. Ishbi Erra continued a lot of the same
practices of the Ur III dynasty in the Isin dynasty.
This document, A Praise Poem of Iddin Dagan, is considered Sumerian royal praise poetry, which
often depicted and praised the various achievements, strengths and accomplishments of rulers in
the ancient Near East. Royal praise poetry can be used to analyze the legitimacy of a king and
how he ruled, how his people felt about him, and his relationship with the gods. Strong and
successful kings tended to have a close

Persuasive Essay On Prayer In School
Prayer in School has been one of the most controversial issues of all the time. Under US
constitution also prayer in schools is constitutional as well as unconstitutional. Congress shall
make no law respecting as establishment of religious or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or
abridging the freedom of speech or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble
and to petition the government for a redress of grievance , first amendment of US constitution. This
amendment guarantees people for their freedom of religious and speech of their choice. It means
an individual has a right to follow their religious without violating other belief. As an atheist, I
believed that Prayeris a mind exercise to keep balance between subconscious and conscious mind.
And, a prayer in School will give a guideline t People have their right to follow the religious of
their own choice. They can practice any norms or values under their religious without violating
other belief. In 60s, prayer in school was common in America. But, sometimes catholic group
objected because it violates their belief. Since, everyone has only one faith but there is different
ways to express their faith on their own God. In school, student with different religious has their
own way and own God to pray. Prayer that we pray in school may come from one religious which
may violate others belief. On June 25, 1962, US Supreme court ruled against prayer in public
school. (Engel v. Vitale case)

The Is Not Defined By Dictionaries Or Professors, Or...
Definition Essay Draft
Words are not defined by dictionaries or professors, or officials, but by how people use them,
how they are put in to context, through the timeless evolution of meanings. Words can have many
different faces, many of which can be powerful or quite weak, others can have a friendly face or
a mean one. Sometimes there are words that can start out having a friendly face, but with time
society can turn them into a mean face that betrays its former self, words like this exist all across
modern social interaction, some can be more prominent than others and promote an ignorant
atmosphere as to which we are forced to live in. The word gay is no exception, many people apply
this word incorrectly to every situation and it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gay wasn t used to replace homosexual as a noun until the twentieth century (Oxford English
Dictionary). That was when politics and news corporations used the word to label the
homosexual community as gay. In recent events, for example, there have been instances such as
the Gay Rights Movement which has been mentioned in media, in turn creates it as a label for
homosexuals. So nowadays homosexuals are officially known as gays. Although gay became a
technical term in the professional field, at a local level, the word turned away from being a
noun and became an adjective, just like in the beginnings of the word; but it had taken on a very
different meaning from what it was originally. Gay: adj., stupid, dumb, out of favor. That seems
to be how our generation defined this word, it is sad to see that society has come to this, to
relate a group of people to the words dumb or stupid. People use this word in many cases that
don t even have any relation to the actual meaning of the word, mostly as a derogatory term or
insult. For example, if a student chooses to complain about a homework assignment or how a
teacher runs their classroom, they usually will say Man, this is so gay, I hate this . To the student,
their statement is exactly the same as, Man, this is so stupid . It is pitiful how this generation has
done this to such a word that has so much other meaning behind it. It is the same story for similar
words, like faggot or queer. These terms have

  • 8. Differences Between The Federal And Federal Court System Two Separate Justice Systems The U.S. Constitution created a strong government structure for the United States known as federalism. Both the federal and state governments must have their own court systems to apply and interpret their own specific laws. Both federal and state constitutions attempt to do this by specifically spelling out the jurisdiction of their own court systems. For example, U.S Constitution gives Congress the power to make uniform laws concerning bankruptcies, a state court would lack jurisdiction in this matter. Since the Constitution does not give the federal government authority in most matters concerning the regulation of the family, a federal court would lack jurisdiction in a divorce case. This is the main reason why there are two separate court systems in America. The federal court system deals with issues of law relating to those powers implicitly granted to them by the U.S. Constitution. The state court systems deal with issues of laws relating to those matters that the U.S. Constitution did not give to the federal government or deny to the states. Differences in the Structure of the Federal and State Court Systems. The Federal Court System: The U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court are governed by Article III of the US Constitution. • 10. Cell Division Writing Outline Writing Outline Cell division is the process in which one cell, called the parent cell, divides to form two new cells, referred to as daughter cells. How this happens depends on whether the cell is prokaryotic or eukaryotic. There are differences of cell division for prokaryotes and eukaryotes cells. Cell division is simpler in prokaryotes than eukaryotes because prokaryotic cells themselves are simpler. Prokaryotic cells have a single circular chromosome, no nucleus, and a few other organelles. Eukaryotic cells, in contrast, have multiple chromosomes which are contained within their nucleus, and many other organelles. In eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, all of these cell parts must be duplicated and then separated when the cell divides. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mitosis is the process in which the duplicated genome in a cell is separated into halves that are identical, which results in the growth and development of new cells. Mitosis can occur without cytokinesis, forming single cells with multiple nuclei (Ex: certain fungi and slime moulds). Mitosis occurs in four phases, one of which is Cytokinesis. Cytokinesis is the process where the cytoplasm of the cell divides to form two daughter cells and ensures that the chromosome numbers are maintained in the cell. During Cytokinesis, the cytoplasm of a cell is divided into two. The result is the formation of two daughter cells, each having a nucleus. Apart from the nuclei, Cytokinesis also results in the passing of cellular organelles equally between the two daughter cells. Since some of the molecules bind to the chromosomes, each daughter cell receives an equal share of the cytoplasmic components. Mitosis involves the division and duplication of the cell s nucleus or separation of duplicated chromosomes whereas cytokinesis involves the division of the cytoplasm to form two distinct, new daughter cells. Inductive reasoning involves a scientist using series of correlated observations to reach or infer a conclusion while deductive reasoning involves predicting a specific result by following existing laws and general concepts that support a conclusion (OpenStax College, Rice University, 2013). So, considering the definition of inductive reasoning and the definition of deductive reasoning and their mode of operations highlighted above, they are apparently different from each other. In comparing and contrasting both approaches, inductive reasoning focuses on observation while deductive reasoning considers the generally accepted facts to ascertain the authenticity of a specific case. Summary Of Invisible Man, Hamlet, And Crime And Punishment Out of all the books we ve read this year, in my opinion Invisible Man, Hamlet, and Crime and Punishment did the best job of showing me what the world outside education was like. These books do the best job because they depict very different lives from mine: they are narrated by men, one African American, one Russian, and one Danish royalty three identities that I do not claim for myself. If we re going to learn about the world, I might as well learn about worlds other than my own (which I d say I m pretty familiar with). A common theme throughout the books I ve chosen is a problem with the binaries society presents us, whether it be racial, moral or internal. The conflicts addressed in these books often spring from a failure to find a balance, or an endeavor to find out where in the middle you belong. Crime and Punishmentis a prime example of the dangers of seeing in black and white. Raskolnikov s existence is a grey area, because although he s a murderer, the reader is sort of rooting for him. To me, Crime and Punishment is about the different tones moralitycan take. Raskolnikov is a murderer, but to him, and maybe some of the readers, he is justified in his act. This crime doesn t define him as a moral or immoral person, that is for the reader to decide. Who knows what pain and misery I am going through in my life at the moment! However, who, after all, has not worn a mask on occasion to conceal their frustration and disappointment? One particular group in our society who were forced to wear a mask to conceal with true feelings about their situation, was African Americans during the fight for civil rights. Although we can really not understand exactly what these individuals went through, obviously we can relate to the concept of wearing a mask in that we all have a faГ§ade that we wear in our daily life. Furthermore, the speaker tells us that wearer of the mask wants freedom from the people who are full of guile and force them to wear mask just to lie. They need to become free from all this mistreatment and discrimination. They want to have the same rights and equality as the rest of the people in this world. It is important to note that when you specifically know Dunbar s background, you are able to make this specific meaning about the plight of African Americans, however this poem also has a universal nature. The hesitation that some Cambodian Americans face when meeting with strangers is due to the fact that the Cambodian culture is one of high power distance. With protests over the murders of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and Antonio Martin, the subject of police brutality, specifically targeted at black people and protesters, is extremely appropriate. The brutalities inflicted on African Americans in the 1960 s are highly shocking, but it is the knowledge that citizens are still being murdered by our police that truly hits the hardest. Director Ava DuVernay uses intimate moments and talented actors to adeptly balance the moral lessons inherent to this story with the humanization of the venerated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The film covers a fairly short period of time during the year 1965; during this time period, Dr. King (played by David Oleyowo) was directly... David Oleyowo s portrayal of Martin Luther King Jr. is uncannily close to the real historical figure; this is most apparent in the scenes of Dr. King giving a speech, as most of us have heard at least one of King s speeches, giving us a point of comparison. Selma was nominated in the Best Picture category at the Oscars, but in my opinion, Oleyowo was even more deserving of a nomination in the Best Male Actor category. What I mean is, there is a deeper meaning that we have to understand. As I read the play multiple times, I finally understood the deeper meaning behind it. One example would be that as the couple was drifting apart, it shows a huge change on Lucy s side. When she stops eating meat, it shows that she wants to be a better version of herself because she can now live the better and healthier life of herself without having someone to stop her. That explains why she wanted to cut Vernon out of her life. But, he doesn t understand why Lucy was pushing him to the side. I think this is something that happens in relationships every day. A couple will break up and there is always that one person who doesn t understand why things happen the way they happen and will become offensive and abusive until things become the way they want. Another metaphor can be seen from the steak. In the play, Vernon is forcing Lucy to eat the steak as he literally shoves it in her mouth. That shows that in their relationship, he was controlling because as we can clearly see, he doesn t value anything she wants or decides on her own. Instead, he tries to find loopholes to put out what he wants. • 39. Nonhuman Primate Communication That Humans Learn Their... One form of nonhuman primate communication that occurs in the wild is through noises (Zuberbuhler 6). Most primates have species specific sounds for certain situations (Zuberbuhler 6). For example, vervet monkeys have different alarm calls for different types of predators (Zuberbuhler 10). The listeners of these calls respond to each call differently, protecting themselves from specific predators (Zuberbuhler 10). This means that they are not just reacting to another monkey being scared, but they know what scared it based on the call the monkey makes. Specific calls therefore can be said to symbolize specific meanings (Zuberbuhler 10). However, it is not known whether or not this is intentional or if the monkeys are aware of this. While this would not necessarily be considered a language, it is one of their natural forms of communication. The human listeners and nonhuman listeners both interpret arbitrary noises to mean something specific (Zuberbuhler 11). However, a difference between human language and these primatecalls is that humans learn their language socially (Zuberbuhler 11). There is no evidence to say that nonhuman primate calls or sounds are learned socially instead of instinctual (Zuberbuhler 11). In fact, there is some evidence to support the opposite. Monkeys reared in social isolation produce basically all their species typical call types from soon after birth (Arbib 1054). Steady state exercise affects many body functions. If the steady state exercise performed for months consistently, it will increase the overall endurance of an individual. The below are the certain physiological functions affected during steady state: Cardiac output: The aerobic exercise performed at steady rate causes the body to increase the amount of blood pumped by the heart. Cardiac output is determined by stroke volume and heart rate. The Stroke volume is defined as the quantity of blood pumped at each heart beat, while the body going from rest to steady state exercise. Cardiac output increases rapidly even more gradually until it reaches a plateau. By that time we develop an increased number of capillaries, greater opening of existing capillaries, more effective blood redistribution and increased blood volume. Due to this, capillaries improve the body ability to deliver oxygen and nutrients to muscle and also to remove the waste products. Cardiac output is generally calculated by: Cardiac output = Heart rate * Stroke volume Blood pressure: The blood pressure of an individual is affected before and after reaching the steady state. .There is increase in the systolic and diastolic blood pressure during steady state. Iddin Dagan is loved by the gods, especially An, Enki, and Enlil. Because these three gods favored Iddin Dagan, he was able to have a successful ruling, filled with abundance of agriculture, a population increase, and a strong military presence. Ultimately, this shows that religion fuels power, and without a strong religious presence the ruler would not have an impactful kingship, which truly benefits the people of his realm. Isin is the last dynasty that is mentioned in the Sumerian King List. Iddin Dagan was the third king of the first dynasty of Isin.
