OBJETO DEL ENSAYO
Este método de ensayo será utilizado para determinar la
cantidad total del material más fino que el tamiz N° 200 (0.074
mm) en los agregados.

EQUIPO
Los aparatos consistirán en lo que sigue:
a) Tamices.- Se
usarán dos
tamices, el
inferior será el
tamiz N° 200 y el
superior
aproximadamente
el N° 16 .

b) Recipiente.- Se necesitará
un recipiente de tamaño
suficiente y forma
adecuada, para contener la
muestra cubierta con agua
y para permitir un vigoroso
agitamiento sin pérdida de
la muestra ni del agua que
la cubre.

MUESTRA
La muestra de ensayo será seleccionada de material que haya sido
íntegramente mezclado entre si con suficiente humedad como para
impedir su segregación, será una muestra representativa, no menor al
peso aproximado que se indica a continuación:

a) La muestra de ensayo
será secada hasta peso
constante a una
temperatura que no
exceda de 110 °C y
luego pesada con una
aproximación al 0.02 %
de su propio peso.

b) La muestra de ensayo después de haber sido secada, será colocada
en el recipiente y cubierta totalmente con agua clara. El contenido
del recipiente será agitado vigorosamente y el agua del lavado
vaciada inmediatamente sobre la serie de tamices.

c) La agitación será
suficientemente vigorosa para
producir la separación completa
de las partículas de material más
fino que el tamiz N° 200
adheridas a las partículas más
gruesas, y a fin de que el
material en suspensión sea
removido por la decantación del
agua de lavado. La operación
será repetida hasta que el agua
se vea clara.

d) Todo el material retenido en la serie de tamices será
cuidadosamente devuelto a la muestra lavada, que luego se hará
secar hasta peso constante a una temperatura que no exceda los
110 °C, y pesada con aproximación a 0.02 % del peso de la
muestra original.

CALCULOS
El resultado se calculará por la fórmula que se da a continuación:
Pi seco: Peso original seco
Ps lav: Peso seco después del lavado
En los hormigones corrientes se admite un 5% de material más fino que el tamiz N° 200, y en
los hormigones expuestos al desgaste, hasta un valor de 3%.

  • 1. CONTENIDO DE MATERIAL MÁS FINO QUE EL TAMIZ N° 200 EN LOS AGREGADOS A.S.T.M C 117
  • 2. 2 OBJETO DEL ENSAYO Este método de ensayo será utilizado para determinar la cantidad total del material más fino que el tamiz N° 200 (0.074 mm) en los agregados.
  • 3. 3 EQUIPO Los aparatos consistirán en lo que sigue: a) Tamices.- Se usarán dos tamices, el inferior será el tamiz N° 200 y el superior aproximadamente el N° 16 .
  • 4. 4 b) Recipiente.- Se necesitará un recipiente de tamaño suficiente y forma adecuada, para contener la muestra cubierta con agua y para permitir un vigoroso agitamiento sin pérdida de la muestra ni del agua que la cubre.
  • 5. 5 MUESTRA La muestra de ensayo será seleccionada de material que haya sido íntegramente mezclado entre si con suficiente humedad como para impedir su segregación, será una muestra representativa, no menor al peso aproximado que se indica a continuación: Tamaño nominal máximo Peso de la muestra en Kg N° 4 ¾” 1 ½” 0.5 2.5 5
  • 6. 6 a) La muestra de ensayo será secada hasta peso constante a una temperatura que no exceda de 110 °C y luego pesada con una aproximación al 0.02 % de su propio peso.
  • 7. 7 b) La muestra de ensayo después de haber sido secada, será colocada en el recipiente y cubierta totalmente con agua clara. El contenido del recipiente será agitado vigorosamente y el agua del lavado vaciada inmediatamente sobre la serie de tamices.
  • 8. 8 c) La agitación será suficientemente vigorosa para producir la separación completa de las partículas de material más fino que el tamiz N° 200 adheridas a las partículas más gruesas, y a fin de que el material en suspensión sea removido por la decantación del agua de lavado. La operación será repetida hasta que el agua se vea clara.
  • 9. 9 d) Todo el material retenido en la serie de tamices será cuidadosamente devuelto a la muestra lavada, que luego se hará secar hasta peso constante a una temperatura que no exceda los 110 °C, y pesada con aproximación a 0.02 % del peso de la muestra original.
  • 10. 10 CALCULOS El resultado se calculará por la fórmula que se da a continuación: Pi seco: Peso original seco Ps lav: Peso seco después del lavado En los hormigones corrientes se admite un 5% de material más fino que el tamiz N° 200, y en los hormigones expuestos al desgaste, hasta un valor de 3%.
