The reason why I choose this topic(1)
•

I heard trials on summer vacation as
an activity of the university seminar. I
saw three trials, one of them was about
power harassment in the office. The
plaintiff was the families of the man
who committed suicide by his boss’s
power harassment, the defendant was
his company.
The reason why I choose this topic(2)
• The plaintiff had argued that cause of suicide
is in the company, but the defendant company
insisted that there is no responsibility of his
suicide to the company.
I knew some trials of power harassment on TV,
but I became to have some interests in labor
issues in Japan by looking at this trial.
Power harassment(1)
• Power harassment means harassment by using
workplace power. Usually, boss do a power
harassment to their subordinate.
• Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare inquired
"Have you ever received power harassment in
the last three years in your office?" , and 25.3
percent people answered.
29.0% female employees and 26.8% male
employees said “yes”.

 1,Mind attack
When those who make a miss, be laughed at in front of many people.

 2,Excessive demands
Be forced to do by oneself too many tasks.

 3,Too small demands
Be forced to do weeding.

 4,Physical attack
Beaten
Be pulled them hair
Be pressed cigarette’s fire

According to the survey of TUC,
there is that there were two million workers have an experience
of being bullying at workplace in the six months in the UK.

• TUC claimed that government in UK should solve the problem of
bullying in workplace.
↓
Government launched the Dignity at Work scheme,
Europe's biggest anti-bullying campaign.

How to resolve bullying in the workplace
• 1, talk to people who you trust on.
• 2, keep a diary
(it becomes evidence when trial)
• 3 consult with union

• 4 make a formal complaint
Working time and Paid holiday(1)
• working time
Egypt has the longest
working time.
Europe and USA tend
to shorten
working time.
Japan Government
determined that
working time is 40
hours in a week in the
law, but there is a
overtime work
problem.
Working time and Paid holiday(2)
Paid holiday.
Spain has the most paid
holidays.
Japan's number of paid
holidays is bigger than that
of U.S. but it is less than
that of Europe country.

Then, I examined that how
many paid holiday workers
digest actually.

I found that Japanese workers don't use paid holidays.
The main reason why Japanese workers don't use paid holiays

① Because they has no economic afford
② Because if they use paid holidays, their boss and co-workers don't think good.
Foreign worker(1)
• Foreign workers means those who come from other countries and work.
• ①Germany
After World War II was over, labor shortages occurred in West Germany.

So, West German government was recruited workers from foreign country,
for example Portugal and Turkey.
Foreign workers planned short-term initially, but they stayed over the long
term.
Economy of Germany as becomes poor gradually, Germans who had no
work has increased.
Germans who had no work had a bad impression for foreign workers who
had work. Some Germans attack foreign workers.

Recently, Japanese companies have adopted many foreign
workers
For example, Panasonic have adopted foreigner about 80
percent of new graduate’s adopters in 2011.
UNIQLO also have adopted about 1000 foreign worker of
new graduate’s adopters in 2012.

Companies that have adopted a lot of foreign worker
explained the reason why they have adopted foreign
worker is Globalization.
summary
• I found that there are labor issues are present
in not only Japan but also overseas
. Today is the era of globalization, so I felt that it
is difficult to solve labor issue because labor
issues include many country's economy and
their situation even if that labor issue may
look like just a problem of one country,.

  • 3. The reason why I choose this topic(1) • I heard trials on summer vacation as an activity of the university seminar. I saw three trials, one of them was about power harassment in the office. The plaintiff was the families of the man who committed suicide by his boss’s power harassment, the defendant was his company.
  • 4. The reason why I choose this topic(2) • The plaintiff had argued that cause of suicide is in the company, but the defendant company insisted that there is no responsibility of his suicide to the company. I knew some trials of power harassment on TV, but I became to have some interests in labor issues in Japan by looking at this trial.
  • 5. Power harassment(1) • Power harassment means harassment by using workplace power. Usually, boss do a power harassment to their subordinate. • Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare inquired "Have you ever received power harassment in the last three years in your office?" , and 25.3 percent people answered. 29.0% female employees and 26.8% male employees said “yes”.
  • 6. Power harassment(2) For example of Power harassment  1,Mind attack When those who make a miss, be laughed at in front of many people.  2,Excessive demands Be forced to do by oneself too many tasks.  3,Too small demands Be forced to do weeding.  4,Physical attack Beaten Be pulled them hair Be pressed cigarette’s fire

Bullying in workplace(1) • According to the survey of TUC, there is that there were two million workers have an experience of being bullying at workplace in the six months in the UK. • TUC claimed that government in UK should solve the problem of bullying in workplace. ↓ Government launched the Dignity at Work scheme, Europe's biggest anti-bullying campaign.
  • 8. Bullying in workplace(2) How to resolve bullying in the workplace • 1, talk to people who you trust on. • 2, keep a diary (it becomes evidence when trial) • 3 consult with union • 4 make a formal complaint
  • 9. Working time and Paid holiday(1) • working time Egypt has the longest working time. Europe and USA tend to shorten working time. Japan Government determined that working time is 40 hours in a week in the law, but there is a overtime work problem.
  • 10. Working time and Paid holiday(2) Paid holiday. Spain has the most paid holidays. Japan's number of paid holidays is bigger than that of U.S. but it is less than that of Europe country. Then, I examined that how many paid holiday workers digest actually.
  • 11. Working time and Paid holiday(3) • I found that Japanese workers don't use paid holidays. The main reason why Japanese workers don't use paid holiays ① Because they has no economic afford ② Because if they use paid holidays, their boss and co-workers don't think good.
  • 12. Foreign worker(1) • Foreign workers means those who come from other countries and work. • ①Germany After World War II was over, labor shortages occurred in West Germany. So, West German government was recruited workers from foreign country, for example Portugal and Turkey. Foreign workers planned short-term initially, but they stayed over the long term. Economy of Germany as becomes poor gradually, Germans who had no work has increased. Germans who had no work had a bad impression for foreign workers who had work. Some Germans attack foreign workers.
  • 13. Foreign worker(2) Recently, Japanese companies have adopted many foreign workers For example, Panasonic have adopted foreigner about 80 percent of new graduate’s adopters in 2011. UNIQLO also have adopted about 1000 foreign worker of new graduate’s adopters in 2012. Companies that have adopted a lot of foreign worker explained the reason why they have adopted foreign worker is Globalization.
  • 14. summary • I found that there are labor issues are present in not only Japan but also overseas . Today is the era of globalization, so I felt that it is difficult to solve labor issue because labor issues include many country's economy and their situation even if that labor issue may look like just a problem of one country,.
