Marijke van Hees, portefeuillehouder Digitale Steden Agenda in de G32, riep tijdens Smart City 2013 op 29 mei 2013 alle Europese partijen op om gezamenlijk de vernieuwing van Europa in te zetten.
What does smart mean - what characterizes smart. Let's get practical about what smart cities are and how to get there. We've along evolved along the eGovernment track into today's Digital Government - what does that mean to the public sector? will we improve our service delivery? will the user experience be better ... lots to do!

Can even paying taxes be delightful?
Civic design challenges us to extend our UX skills so that we make things that work for everyone - no matter what language they speak, how well they read, or if they have a disability. That simple step changes our relationship to the audience.
In our work in elections, we have had to apply the basic principles of UX to situations full of stress and constraints, turning barriers into opportunities. We have learned how to engage people outside of the center of the curve, and what makes official transactions simple and clear.
Our goal is to make every interaction with government as engaging or even delightful as the best of cutting edge UX?
Presentation May 2017, MCE Conference, Warsaw Poland
Another Smart Mobility Talk!? Going beyond "self-driving somethings" and electric scooters. The future of cities could look bright with less movement and more self-reflection!
Bastian Boss, Referent Smart City at the Deutsche Bahn, and Co-Founder of Faradgang e.V. presented and discussed ideas from two perspectives and takes an excursion on what happens if you combine a small grassroots bicycle initiative with a major mobility corporation.
This edition of the Service Design Drinks was hosted and sponsored by our smart friends from Futurice in their new community space in Kreuzberg.
