Koalas are marsupial mammals native to eastern Australia, characterized by their herbivorous diet primarily consisting of eucalyptus leaves. They are nocturnal, sleep for 18 to 22 hours daily, and have a unique reproductive process, with joeys being born just 2 cm long. Koalas typically live about ten years and measure around 76 cm, with fur varying from light grey to brown.
