Koalas live in eucalyptus trees in Australia, where they sleep up to 20 hours per day. They weigh between 4-14 kg depending on age and eat eucalyptus leaves, bark, and fruit. Koalas are nocturnal and solitary mammals threatened by habitat loss as humans cut down trees. There are currently only an estimated 2,000-8,000 koalas left in the world.
