What are the benefits of boiler feed water economizer retrofit? Magdy Aly
Tip summary
• An economizer is a heat exchanger that is designed to use heat from hot boiler flue gases to preheat water.
• Economizers are often used on large utility steam boilers to preheat the feed water using recovered stack heat. The same principle can be applied to smaller heating boilers where there is a nearby demand for hot water.
• These installations have become more economical as energy prices are increasing and smaller, lighter and more durable economizers have been developed.
• A condensing economizer improves the effectiveness of reclaiming flue gas heat by cooling the flue gas below the dew point.
• The condensing economizer thus recovers both the sensible heat from the flue gas and the latent heat from the moisture that condenses.
• The condensate is highly corrosive and requires measures to ensure that it does not enter the boiler and proper material selection. New boilers generally include economizers.
• Three major parameters are considered in evaluating all boiler economizers are:
o fuel type
o acceptable backpressure on the exhaust
o Inlet water temperature
Proposed actions
o Flue gases content and boiler efficiency
o Evaluate the possibility and type of economizer that can be installed.
o Evaluate the economics of the required changes.
Economics
o System retrofit will have a medium cost with quick ROI.
Savings
o Estimated energy savings range: 5% to 12% of boiler energy use based on type used.
Conclusion
o Boiler feed water Economizer can improve boiler efficiency by 5% or more but it needs careful evaluation.

Manufacturers are coming to our aid by developing more efficient units that help keep the cost at a reasonable level. These devices utilize the Energy Factor rating to determine their efficiency. Now commercial water heaters are rated on how well they conserve energy, the amount expended to maintain levels of hot water and the transference of energy to warming the water.
Energy efficient windows will make your home more comfortable, dramatically reduce your energy costs and help to create a brighter, cleaner and healthier environment. In addition to this they lower HVAC costs and helps in increasing light inside your home. Also these windows prevent furniture and carpet colour fading.

Tax credit energy efficient appliances21 Handshake
As of the 2018 tax year, many of the federal tax credits for upgrading to new, energy-efficient appliances have expired. In the past, you were able to collect federal tax credits for energy-efficient water heaters, air conditioners, boilers, furnaces and other in-home appliances. Now, the IRS provides these types of tax credits only for residential renewable energy products. According to Energy Star, these tax credits should remain available through December 31, 2021.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
3. Purchase an Energy Star Model. Energy saving models can
save you hundreds of dollars over the life expectancy of the
appliance and can help reduce the temperature of your
house. You can find additional useful information at
www.energyster.gov about its partners and strategies. When
buying a product, search for the label.
4. Clean or replace the appliance filter. Clogged filters
impair performance of the unit and makes them
work more. This causes the need for more energy to
run the appliance and also it affects the life
expectancy of the product.
5. Maintaining the unit appliance helps to
maintain the unit’s effectiveness.This means
that they can work requiring the least amount
of energy input possible.
Periodically inspect the unit.
Replace or refill fluids, lubrication or
alignment in order to increase useful life.
6. Select the right size for the appliance.
Consider the required output that is needed
for the house. An appliance too big for
household necessities will result in a waste of
energy.
7. Using the maximum load capacity of an
appliance reduces the frequency in which an
appliance is used.
