Constitutional Democratic Republic Political Change
Next, a constitutional democratic republic facilitates political change and progress. This is a
predominant attribute surrounding a government, as without it, no wrong can be solved or ailment
corrected. The American Suffrage movement is an impeccable example of political change being a
necessity in order to grant women suffrage. Due to the availability and mercurial nature of a
constitutional democratic republic, even massive alterations such as granting suffrage to a group of
citizens is possible. Without this allowance for political change and social progress women would
most likely not be allowed to vote. Thus, the 19th amendment is a visible demonstration of this
allowance for political change even under extreme circumstances (Constitution).... Show more

This hinders the establishment of a one party states, such as demonstrated in China, North Korea,
Cuba, Laos, Vietnam, and Eritrea. One party states remove the ability of citizens to think for
themselves, independent from the ideas of the government. It also limits a citizen s ability to
project their opinion as there is only a singular party as an option. This party is the preference of
the government and often times has the government s sustainability as the paramount concern
(Gale). Yet, a multi party/dual party state allows for a broader scheme of citizens opinions and
preferences to be incorporated into the government. As well, the re election cycle every four
years, allows for the possibility of a new party to take the presidency, giving a refresh on mass
opinion, and making sure the democratic preference has the presidential seat. This idea of a re
election cycle is also seen in the Senate, the Supreme Court and Gubernatorial positions. Thus,
these frequent modifications to our nation s leadership allow for a much needed availability for
political change and progress in new

Determining the Accuracy of a Non-Contact Infrared...
Among many people, fever is commonplace while sick. This is especially true of pediatric
patients who develop fevers at the slightest indication of infection. 20% of emergency room visits
for children are due to an elevated temperature. (Fortuna et al., 2010 p. 103) A rectal temperature
above 100.4В°F is considered to be fever. The preferred method of obtaining an accurate
temperaturereading is rectally, as this gives the most precise core temperature reading. In some
patients however, rectal thermometry is contraindicated and an alternative method of measuring
their temperature is needed. Not many alternatives currently exist to give as accurate of a core
temperature reading as the rectal thermometer. The research article I chose to... Show more content

Before beginning, general information was collected from the child s parent or guardian about any
fever reducing medication given, the patient s age, and what was bothering the child.
The study followed important aspects of the nursing process. First, the patients were assessed to
determine how sick they were and whether or not they qualified to participate in the study. The
tools for the research, in this case both thermometers, were acquired and implemented. The children
s temperature was then evaluated using both thermometers.
The process in which the data was obtained for the research study was as follows: The rectal
thermometer was inserted and held in place for 15 seconds and was then read. The same trained
person would then use the infrared thermometer in the middle of the forehead immediately after
the rectal temperature was recorded. The infrared thermometer had to be calibrated to the
temperature of the room before using. The people trained to use both thermometers correctly for
this study were two registered nurses, two paramedics and two pediatric emergency physicians.
(Fortuna et al., 2010 p. 102) All of the data collected was gathered by one of these six people.
The results of this research study showed a discrepancy that was too large between the rectal
thermometer and the non contact infrared thermometer. There was a difference of as many as
4В°F. (Fortuna et al., 2010 p. 103) In patients who were afebrile, the

Emotional Intelligence Paper
Slide 1: According to Robbins Judge (2015) Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to detect and
manage emotions, perceive emotions in yourself and others, understand the meaning of emotions
and regulate ones emotions (p.104). Examples of Emotional Intelligence (EI) (1) understanding
your emotions (2) thinking rationally about your actions before taking action and (3) putting
yourself in others shoes. If you are self aware, you always know how you feel, your emotions, and
your actions can affect individuals around you. EI varies and the best way to explain it is by
giving examples.

Stroop Effect Lab Report
Abstract The goal of this rendition of John Stroop s classic Stroop Effect experiment is to obtain
and demonstrate the reaction time needed to mentally process the tasks given (colors and words)
under the two different conditions (congruent and incongruent). A prediction of the result was
made using the speed of processing theory, which implies that different tasks are processed
cognitively at different rates, showing the difference in processing rates (times) for relevant and
irrelevant information to the tasks. In our rendition, the classic experiment was slightly altered to
include incongruent and congruent information, as well as the basic words and names tasks. Using
the speed of processing theory we were able to make a hypothesis in... Show more content on

It is used to depict the delay in reaction that occurs when we must information collides and fight
for processing. The Horse Race model of automaticity is used to describe how the mind works in
this experiment. The model consists of two horses; color and word who are both racing to the
finish line, the finish line being the response. While both horses race, the word horse will be
more likely to win the race as we process words faster; its automatic. As per Macleod, the problem
arises once we attempt duel processing, which is suppressing the word horse to process the color
horse as this causes a greater delay in response. Conflicting information is at the core of the stroop
effect. In the traditional experiment the focus was on the color not on the word, in this experiment
the second variable congruency (incongruent and congruent) were added. Congruent meaning the
words shown coincide with the color, incongruent meaning they do not. The reaction time of the
participants for congruent were faster overall as there is no competing information. Brown states
that the association process in naming simple objects like colors is radically different from the
association process in reading printed words (Stroop 1935). Meaning that word processing has a
speed advantage over color as it is automatic, which can be considered task irrelevant when the
participants were asked to process colors; resulting in a

INTRODUCTION:
The Ganges is a trans limit waterway of Asia which courses through the countries of India and
Bangladesh. The 2,525 km river ascends in Himalayas in the Indian province of Uttarakhand, and
streams east and south through the Gangetic Plain of North India into Bangladesh, where it flows
down into the Bay of Bengal. It is the third largest waterway on the planet by release. It is a main
source of irrigation, water for drinking, fishing, precipitation and main species Royal Bengal Tiger
and The Great Ganges Dolphin. It is considered as a holy river by the Hindu people so they
worship it and perform some rituals in it which makes it dirty.
The waterway courses through 29 cities with populace more than 100,000; around 48 towns. An
expansive extent of the sewage water with high organic waste is from this populace through
household water use.[1] FACTORS RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVASTATION OF THE HOLY

Religious Significance: The main cause of damage is the religious significance of the river. The
spiritual river receives more than 10,000,000 whole coconuts, 500,000 copper bowls containing
human bones, millions of earthen pots and flowers, and . During festival seasons, over 70

Hubble helped determine the age of the universe and the way galaxies are formed. Revealed
extraordinary detail about the process by which sun like stars end their lives as planetary
nebulae. The telescope allows to study the universe across a wide swath of the light spectrum
structure of the universe and map the distribution of elements fundamental to life. Astronomers
believe they formed the most distant objects with Hubble with a Distance of 13.2 billion years
away. According to nbcnews.com, Scientist Labb`e stated that previous searches have found 47
galaxies at an adequately later time, when the universe was about 650 millions years old. Hubble
has also discovered dark matter. Dark matter is invisible, but reveals its existence via gravity,
makes up roughly 23% of the universe. The telescope made it easier to understand how Dark
Matter behaves and could help scientist figure out more detail about dark matter. Hubble has
greatly expanded astronomers knowledge of the Universe. Before the telescope, distance to far off

Long Beach Controversy
City Hall s recent push to allow more development of buildings across Long Beach has caused
controversy between residents and city officials. The controversy revolves around a city policy
document known as the Land Use Element which was written in 1989, a time when Long Beach
had 44,000 less residents. The Land Use Element sets basic rules for what kinds of buildings can
be built in a given neighborhood. Cityofficials are now attempting to re write the policy for the
first time since 1989. As presently drafted, the Land Use Element does not allow developers to
add more dwelling in taller buildings. The proposed draft calls for taller buildings, including five
and six story buildings around the Traffic Circle, and 10 story buildings in the... Show more content

The fist economic concept presented in the article is cost benefit analysis in regards to adding
more density. The newly proposed land use element policy wants to address the demand for
housing, employment, and lifestyle choices. They would like to encourage larger open space
which could accommodate mixed use development. This would help reduce the number of
residents that commute out of Long Beach for work. The plan would also encourage more
section 8 housing projects that can accommodate low income individuals. Majority of residents
living in Long Beach believe that this proposal would incur a huge cost on the city. Long Beach
is a parking impacted city with poor public transit system. Adding more density would not help
the parking crisis that Long Beach faces; it can potentially make it worse. Residents also fear
that adding more density in the city could lead to an increase in crime. The second economic
concept in this article relates to supply and demand. Long Beach is currently facing a housing
crisis. There is not enough housing to accommodate its residents. The demand for housing is far
greater than the supply, which has caused rent prices to skyrocket over the past few years. Long
Beach simply does not have enough housing to accommodate all of its residents. When the Land
Use element was first written in 1989, there were 44,000 less residents. City officials believe that
adding more housing density could help alleviate

Dissonance Theory
cause that individual to change overall attitudes toward an object. An alternative to Rosenberg s
theory is Festinger s theory of cognitive dissonance. While Rosenberg s theory deals with affect and
cognition, Festinger s theory examines consistency among cognitive elements or beliefs about
oneself, behavior, or environment. Dissonance occurs when elements are logically inconsistent or
psychologically inconsistent because of cultural mores, specific opinions deviating from more
encompassing opinions, or information or experiences that are contrary to previous information or
experiences. Dissonance motivates the individual to reduce the dissonance and return to
consonance. When faced with dissonance, the individual seeks to avoid situations or information
that may increase dissonance.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Studies on counter attitudinal advocacy are based on dissonance theory. Individuals who are asked
to write an essay or present a speech promoting a position contrary to their beliefs become
committed to certain aspects of the contrary position. This causes dissonance, which the individuals
attempt to reduce by changing their original position or attitude. The stronger the magnitude of the
dissonance, the stronger the need to change the original attitude. The simple act of decision making
creates dissonance, too. The magnitude of the dissonance is related to the importance of the
decision and the attractiveness of both the chosen and the unchosen alternatives. Researchers have a
better understanding of the interactions between attitudes and opinions and actions and behaviors,
so consistency theories that are not directly related to processes are of little interest to today s
cognitive scientists who tend to be more process oriented than behaviorists who studied consistency

Essay On Chronic Pain
San Diego_In Home Care and Chronic Pain
When pain lasts three to six months or more, it is considered chronic pain. According to the
American Geriatrics Association, more than 50 percent of seniors living at home and up to 80
percent of those in care facilities suffer from chronic pain. As a result, a great number of these
seniors are not able to function properly during the day or sleep well at night. Some of the most
frequent causes of chronic pain in seniors are arthritis, glaucoma, poor circulation, and nerve
damage.
For seniors who choose to remain in their own residence despite their pain, in home care often
makes a significant difference by allowing them to maintain their freedom, independence, and high
quality of life. Some of the most popular services include light housekeeping, laundry, and
transportation services since many seniors with chronic pain are not longer able to drive.
Additionally, medication management support is important because of the vast numbers and
varieties of medications most seniors with chronic pain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Staying active is one of the most effective ways to make living with chronic pain a more
tolerable experience...We try to make people continue to be active because when people have
pain they tend to focus on it more. There have been trials on whether it is best to keep people at

Critical Concepts Of Middle Adulthood
There are many emotions that coincide with middle adulthood. Three of the most critical
concepts of middle adulthood are midlife crisis, empty nest syndrome, and sandwich generation.
Each concept and stage are apparent in many people around the age 42 45 and can last from 2 5
years. However, these ages can fluctuate for various environmental reasons and circumstances.
Also, this can have gender and culture variations that can affect the age and longevity. A midlife

The sandwich generation is when an adult is not only taking care of their own children, but also
their parents. In many cultures such as Asian tradition taking care of your parents is required and a
mark of adulthood. The generation is typically between the ages of 30 and 55. This number is so
widely raged because many environmental circumstance depend upon it. People in this stage may
become stressed, depressed, and have a loss of identity. Also, people in this generation have to be
very patient and empathetic towards others to withstand the difficulties and responsibilities of being
in a sandwich generation situation. As life expectancy is increasing this is much more common. It
is very common in developing countries because families are financially dependent on each other
and may even live in the same household. Sandwich generations are becoming more common

The Patent Of Patent And Its General Applications
Patent is an exclusive rights that uses to protect intellectual property rights. In recent years, with the
development of electronic technology and the widespread use of electronic platforms, software
patents has become a hot topic that frequently discussed by the public. To a certain extent, the
patent brought many exclusive economic rights to the product inventors; the inventors can get a lot
of additional economic benefits with their product patent, especially in terms of software patent.
However, on the other hand, the negative effects of patents also should not be underestimated, such
as it might obstruct creativity, and it might cause an unnecessary litigation in order to compete the
patent. Compared to the positive effects of the patent, the negative effects of the patent seems to be
more prominent. This essay will discuss the usefulness and the harmfulness of patent from three
parts. In the first part, the essay will briefly discuss the concept of the patent and its general
applications. Then, it will analyze the disadvantages of patent. Finally, the essay will explore the
effective solution for the vicious competition of patent.
DEFINITION AND EXAMPLE
The patent is a very fuzzy concept. In general, it can be understood as an exclusive economic rights;
the inventors obtain substantial economic benefits from their invention patent. However, more
people would think of patents as a part of intellectual property; they would think of patents as an
important mean of

Prior to formally entering the financial crisis, a range of signs forecasting this event had happened
around the world. Problems with short term debt funding and mortgaged assets were not limited
to the United States, which is also the underlying cause of the financial crisis (Stoeckel, 2009).
In 2001, the U.S economy fell into recession after the dotcom crisis and the terrorist event on
September 11. To encourage the consumption, the central bank had lowered interest rates. The
result was that with interest rates so low, investment and consumption became too easy, the U.S
financial markets rapidly back and created real estate bubble . Started from the housing market,
the crisis quickly spread to the entire U.S financial system bank. In 2007, the 4th biggest bank in
the U.S, name Lehman Brothers was under pressure. Lehman tried many different ways to save
itself such as raise capital, sign a deal with Morgan Stanley and Bank of America, merger with
Barclays but none of it worked ( Financial Crisis 2007/2008 Overview, 2011). From here,
everything was ready for the crisis explosion in September 2008.

The Scientific Question On War
The Scientific Answer to War
On September 1, 1939, Germany under the control of Adolf Hitler invaded the sovereign nation of
Poland effectively starting the Second World War. By the end of the conflict in 1945 an estimated
64 million had died, more than the population of the United Kingdom (Thomas). The Second
World War saw the end of the German Third Reich, the founding of the United Nations, and the
United States and Russia becoming global superpowers. The Second World War s start is one log
debated: a continuation of World War Ithat theoretically ended in 1918, Japan seizes Manchuria,
Germany s reoccupation of the Rhineland, or Germany s invasion of Poland (World). No matter
the start of the warfare it is one of the deadliest wars the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most theories offered on the causes of war are done through the lens of historians; however, this
essay uses the perspective of political scientists. The new lens allows for readers to look
information in a new dynamic. Figure I lays out of the steps a hostilities must take to expand into
war. Vasquez states that more than one step from each area is required to bring about combat
(Vasquez). Vasquez defines a world war as:
A large scale severe war among major states that involves the leading states at some point in the
war and most of the major states in a struggle to resolve the most fundamental issues on the global
political agenda (Vasquez).
The Second World War s fundamental issues mostly revolved around territorial disputes. These
disputes over areas such as Poland s Danzig, the Rhineland, Anschluss, and the Sudetenland drove
the start of the war. Overall the essay used the theory to show that World War II followed the
pattern of behavior roughly consistent with other war of its type. The Second World War onset
was brought about military buildups, repeated crises, and expanded through the making of allies.
Hitler s foreign policy and lack of diplomacy were another big reason that the Second World War
occurred. The policies pushed both sides to build up militaries; Germany to have successful
invasions and Britain and France because they felt threatened by Germany s territorial ambitions.
Even in 1936, the anti militarist Popular

Why Is Leonardo Da Vinci Important To The World
That s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Neil Armstrong s famous words as he

of the world s earliest and most innovative inventors. Leonardo da Vinci and Thomas Edison were
two of the smartest and most influential people in history, but only one is worthy of being the most

Race, Gender, And Women
During the time I observed Mass there was a dominate race in attendance mostly Caucasian
(around 200) with several Hispanics (around 50) and very few African Americans (only three);
however, there was not a dominate sex or age of the attendees. There seemed to be an equal
amount of males and females, and a vast degree of age newborns to very elderly among the
participants. The clothing of the participants was very formal and respectful. Most women either
wore long dresses or skirt with leggings or tights underneath, some women wore pants; however,
there was only a few women in pants; all women wore shirts that did not show very much (if
any) cleavage some women (around ten) wore black, white, gray, or brown veils over their

Providing an insight into positive coping skills will allow victims to gain knowledge on better
coping skills to prevent substance abuse, re victimization and long term psychological distress.
This research is aimed at providing knowledge of coping skills for victims of early sexual abuse.
Poor coping skills, such as avoidance has been demonstrated to exacerbate the impact of childhood
trauma on psychological distress (Wang et al, 2010). Victims of early sexual abuse tend to use
acceptance and avoidance as ways to cope with trauma. Child sexual abuse has consistently been
associated with the use of avoidant coping which have been associated with increased trauma
symptoms, which have, in turn, been linked to increased risk for adult sexual

Overemphasizing avoidant coping can result in psychological distress. Education on positive
coping skills is important in avoiding these effects. The purpose of this research is to evaluate
whether a booster coping skills training which focuses on referring to others to assist in solving
problems help sexual abuse victims ages 12 16 replace negative coping skills with positive

abuse may have on the victims. It will discuss the negative coping skills that many victims use and
the effects it has on their psychological development.

Essay about Dental Office Floor Plan
The dental office floor plan detailed above clearly and cleanly divides the dental space into 3 clear
segmented areas: non clinical (patient and administration), clinical, (dental delivery) and clinical
support (supplies, storage, and laboratory). The non clinical space has the most diverse user traffic
patterns since patients and family members, clinical, and non clinical staff may use this area. This
non clinical space should not be blended with the clinical and clinical support areas. The bottleneck
areas are the patient in take and out take or registration area of the patient reception desk.
Inherently, all dental practices have practice waste, complexity, and variation built into the dental
floor plan or the design of the practice.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, the staff bathrooms should not be placed into the clinical areas but near the staff

Practice design has direct relationship to patient flow. A common held belief in dentistryis that there
should be a separation between general dentistry and hygiene. This concept has each dental
provider working from dedicated general dentistry spaces, chairs, and setups and dental hygiene can
only perform cleanings in hygiene chairs and rooms. This forms dental departmental walls or work
areas done by dedicated function and creates a lot of walking and patient scheduling delays. The
definition of dental inefficiency and ineffectiveness is when staff members walk from the end of
one hallway to another to tell the dentist that the patient is ready for an exam or a procedure.
The concept of a favorite room to deliver care for those long, involved procedures must also be
eliminated. When all dental operatory or treatment rooms are designed and equipped identically a
provider can deliver the full spectrum of dental care in each and every room. Every dental
operatory then becomes a favorite room. This allows your front desk staff to be more flexible in
scheduling both urgent and emergent patients and for dental assistants to setup patients more
quickly. Dental operatories when appropriately dThree practice activity areas affect patient flow

Persuasive Essay On Horse Racing
Thoroughbred horse racing is a sport full of beauty, thrill, and danger. Each horse is different, they
are built different, they have different attitudes and they have different trainers. The sport of horse
racing is where you see the unbridled speed and agility of the thoroughbreds. Well actually, today s
horseracing is where you get to see the work of the medications that have been injected inside the
horses. The medications that are inserted into these horses can make them run faster, they are
pain relievers, and they have many other effects for the good and the bad inside the horses. To
get the pure natural horse racing back, we need to take a step in preventing the use of race day
drugs. Thoroughbreds are beautiful horses mainly bred for their speed, agility, and spirit. These
Hot Blooded horses are mainly used for horseracing. The sport of horse racing is mainly simple,
you have 8 24 horses and they run around a track the length of 1 mile. The main races of the year
are the Triple Crown Races. They start with the Kentucky Derby, in Louisville, Kentucky, then the
Preakness Stakesin Baltimore, Maryland, and lastly the Belmont Stakes in Elmont, Ney York.
The Triple Crown started in the early 1900 s. There have only been 12 horses that have won all
three, and overall won the Triple Crown. One of the most famous horses was Secretariat. When
secretariat had won the Triple Crown he won the last race by a jaw dropping amount, 31 lengths in
front of the runner up.

Islamic Church Vs Medieval
No doubt that england had some hard times back in the middle age, lack of knowledge such as
doctors and health care wasn t up to par. If you got the flu or a stomach bug it felt like death was
always a possibility. They never had aspirin or any form of pain relievers. So just imagine going
through a war, and the black plague is all around you. Spreading to friends and sometimes even
family (brothers, sisters, etc.). Knowledge and the question what if was definitely thrown around a
lot, back in the middle ages, with so many questions unanswered. The Catholic Church became the
one of the most powerful institution of the medieval period. Kings, queens and other leaders got
majority of their power from their alliances and protection of the Church. Peasants (lowest level
on the social chain) across Europe had to pay tithing (10 percent of their earnings each year to the
Church) at the same time, the Church was mostly exempt from taxation. These policies helped it to
gain a great deal of money and power for their army.

Low Mass Stars Research Paper
Since we first gazed upon the heavens, man has been perplexed over where the bright lights in
the sky have come from. This report will provide information for the birth and death of both low
and high mass stars that is supported by scientifically proven statements and observations. It is
the long held belief of many, that molecular clouds are the nurseries of stars. These dense clouds
of gas are most often found in the spiral arms of galaxies. Obviously, smaller cloud produce low
mass stars while large clouds produce high mass stars which collapse much faster than their
smaller siblings during the protostar phase ( Washington). At this point, the cloud is cool with very
low pressure. Once these clouds of gas become dense enough, they collapse to create the
beginnings of a starknow... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These clumps are shaped into disks and, after approximately one million years, a protostar will
form in its center. Protostars continue to run off the same gravitational energy that was released by
the initial collapse and continue to suck in dusty material from the space around itself. Once
protostars are hot and dense enough to burn Hydrogen and Helium in their core they enter the main
sequence period of their lives (NASA). Now, we can classify these stars further based on their
masses.
Low mass stars are exactly what you think. They are the creation of smaller molecular gas clouds
and the subsequent protostars. Our very own Sun comes from this family and has relatively low
luminosity and temperature. Thankfully, the smaller a star is the less fuel it needs to consume.
This means that it will also have a longer lifetime before exhausting it energy supply in the core.
But, once it has eaten though all of its gas the star will grow redder, larger, and more luminous
(NASA).If we continue to track the life of a star like our Sun, we can see that next

Toad Revisited Larkin
This poem is Larkin s monologue about work. Larking walks through a park and even though he
finds it an appealing and pleasurable sight, he would rather like to keep himself busy with work.
He does not want to be lazy like the people at the park but would rather like to perform his duties
meticulously so that when he dies he can have the satisfaction of having worked so hard. Toad
Revisited is Larkin s mental debate in which he weighs the advantages and disadvantages of
work and of leisure; and comes to the definite conclusion that work is preferable to sloth or to
leisure unlike the people around him. Toad work refers to the easy work that people do that does
not need much intelligence or skills. Their jobs are easy which therefore, in Larkin s view, makes
them lazy. He is the opposite of these people as he is intelligent and educated which is why he
needs a break and walks through the park unlike the rest of them.... Show more content on

Work, which the people he sees in the park avoid by being lazy. He is saying, although work is
still unpleasant (like a toad), it is something that gives him a sense of purpose. It s something
that will help him in life and he will do it until the end of his life. He has accepted the fact that
working for him is preferable to not working, and he actually asks the toad (work) to help him
through the rest of his life as he walks down Cemetery road, which is a place of death. Larkin
means he is going to work at his current job that he might not necessarily like until he dies,
which gives us a sense that he is at ease with doing so he sees that the alternative is far worse (the
alternative being the people at the park). There is therefore an acceptance of the toad work as
being not only necessary but also

in my life. While I buried myself in a deep pile of monographs related to quantum field theory
and Dirac Theory, Ying, on the other hand, worked on a more practical front. After several
months hard work, he was able to tie things together and ready to go on with the most critical
stage in his program to perform the experiment. I hope my balance will push the measurement of

truth was yet to come, as he performed the experiment. After that, computations, calibrations of
the result would tell if the project was a success or a failure. Anxiety in our works took over our

completely out of the ordinary becomes unusually normal. Chinese culture is purely based on
everyday life and morality inside the lives of their followers. Having a deep connection to your
ethics links to the human aspect of Chinese culture (Violatti). Filial pietyplays a vital role because
the Chinese believe how one treats one s elders reveals a lot about oneself (ВЁFilial Piety in

Coming from a third world country I can really see the major differences of racism how they

The Network utilizes TV for two purposes, first, distracting the public from their surroundings
and second, misleading people to believe false information. Another reason why the Network
installed Free Vees in the lower classes areas is because people are dying off due to air pollution
caused by atomic plants. The Network does not want to do address this problem, in fact, they
couldn t care less about polluting the air and killing the bottom population. What they did is
install Free Vees to keep people indoor with less contact with outside air. People now won t die
in a larger amount and they won t die as fast, so then no one will do anything about it. Also, due
to the lack of jobs, the lower class are on the Free Vees all the time, therefore being distracted from

Focussing on the development from 2011 on, the first half of 2011 is marked of economic recovery,
supported by market regulations like Basel III and the OeNB supplying large amounts of long term
liquidity, leading to a decreasing unemployment rate. In the second half of the year geopolitical
tensions like an earthquake in Japan, growth in debt in several Euro countries, tensions in the bond
and interbank market led to uncertainty in the global financial markets which negatively influenced
the Austrian labour market pushing the unemployment rate on a level of 4.3%.
2012 is considered to be a year of economic slowdown. Decreasing exports, less domestic
investments and consumption led to less demand for la bour and increased the unemployment rate
from 4.0% to 5.0%.
In 2013 a slight increase of the Austrian economy can be spotted inter alia in increasing domestic
consumption. On the other hand more foreign workers are entering the Austrian labour market due
to worse situations in their home countries, making the unemployment rate rise to 5.6%.
The upcoming years 2014 and 2015 are marked by slow economic growth and an ongoing increase
of the Austrian labour force leading the unem ployment rate to settle down around 5.6%. Figure 2

Incorporation Of Emotions And The Workplace
Incorporation of Emotions in the Workplace
It is a general understanding that emotions and the workplace do not go along. Nonetheless,
emotions are an imminent part of who we are as humans, and emotions are present in influencing
our everyday activities and decisions. This makes it highly unlikely and utopic to believe that
emotions will not be part of our workplace. The true issue is how to cope with it and how much
is in fact too much. Anne Kreamer is a former high executive at Nickelodeon who wrote a book
that deals with these issues and concerns, and she wisely addresses them by first defining concepts,
and then giving alternatives as to what to do and how to deal with them. She successfully has
achieved through her book to reach out to the entire population, and deal with a taboo issue
straightforward without affecting sensibilities, and instead opening the minds of millions who have
had the opportunity to read her book titled It s always personal: Navigating Emotion in the New
Workplace. She manages to incorporate real life experiences and concerns, as well as biological
and scientifically proven facts about emotion, followed by tools and exercises that help people
cope with everyday feelings and emotions at the workplace, and even more important, she
developed four character descriptions, none of which are mutually exclusive and instead overlap,
but all equally important assets to any company. Her book has great impact because she deals with

While Anonymous mass uses the original pitches for the caput melisma, Obrecht transposes them
up a fourth and assigns the contra voice the cantus firmus. The transposition and reassignment
allows for the tenor line to add different colors through accidentals, while maintaining the basic
function of the cantus firmus. Additionally, these techniques bring out rhythmic motifs found
throughout the Sanctus through a different balance of pitch. A different texture is perceived if the
tenor line can complement the cantus firmus rather than be it completely. Unlike Anonymous mass,
Obrecht s mass contains obvious rhythmic imitation. The use of dotted quarter notes which are
almost always preceded by eighth note or sixteenth note melismatic rhythms is prevalent throughout
and allows for a cohesive mental processing of it s many homophonic rhythms as a contrast.
Obrecht s application of imitation tricks the listener into confusion, only to then bring back
homophonic texture to seemingly create a distinction between cacophony and harmony. While
Anonymous mass adopts parallel motion counterpoint to weave the lines away from each other and
back together again, Obrecht makes his lines less rhythmically uniform. The lessening of rhythmic
uniform maintains tonal like gravity to the cantus firmus. The pitches often create consonance,
quickly deviate away to form a new tonality, only to find themselves returning to thirds and sixths.
The entrance of the caput cantus firmus outlines a major triad exactly as it is in the anonymous
mass; however, the chord is reminiscent to C Major as the cantus firmus sings an E . Both
composers use the beginning pitch of their cantus firmi as the third of the triads much before the
true age of tonality. This could be a considerable instance of the origins and evolution of tonality
through music

Comparison Of Superman Man Of Steel And Wonder Woman
In the movies, Superman Man of Steel and Wonder Woman, Clark Kent and Diana Prince have
to maintain a front of a normal life whilst hiding their true selves at some point throughout the
films. They both have superhuman powers and are destined to be great heroes; however, at the
start of both movies, they are not aware of their powers. Both Kent and Diana experience
isolated origin stories. For Kent, it proved to be difficult as he was growing up realizing who and
what he really was. Kent s Earth parents (snyder 2013) found him and raised him as their own, by
the name of Clark. Kent is sent to Earth by his birth mother and father: Jor El and Lara after his
home planet, Krypton, is incinerated. Kent was sent to protect Earth s fate and... Show more content

modeled after his father. The ship explains that Kent was sent to Earth to guide its people, and
presents him with a Kryptonian uniform bearing his family s symbol. Lois accidentally triggers
the ship s security system, while she is following Kent. He uses his powers to rescue Lois before

Marx And Durkheim
My project medium consisted of three individual limerick poems that I chose to write about
Marx, Weber, and Durkheim. Within each poem, I incorporated each sociologists name and
included one of the main concepts that we discussed in class about them. For my Marx poem, I
incorporated how he saw Capitalism as a problematic economic system and included some of the
problems that are prevalent in societies that it has been implemented in. In my Weber poem, I
involved a couple of strengths and different aspects that bureaucracies are known for that we had
discussed in class. Finally, for my Durkheim poem, I included a portion of the basic characteristics
of both the organic and mechanical solidarity concepts that were developed by him. I ended

The Power Of Parliament And Parliamentary Sovereignty
Prior to the English Civil War and Glorious Revolution the Crown acted outside Parliament,
causing there to be a struggle for power between the King, the Courts and the Parliament in the
17th Century. Eventually the Courts and Parliament defeated the power of the King and
Parliamentary Sovereignty emerged. Parliamentary sovereignty holds that parliament has absolute
sovereignty it is the supreme law maker over all other government institutions. There are no legal
limitations on the legislative competence of Parliament and no person is allowed to override or
set aside the law of Parliament. R (on the application of Jackson) v AG (2005) shows that the
definition of an Act of Parliament differs according to whether it has been passed with consent of
House of Commons and Lords or just the House of Commons. The courts have the power to decide
if a document is an Act of Parliament. In this case they found that the Parliament Act 1949 and the
Hunting Act 2004 were passed under procedure laid down by Parliament Act 1949 and are valid
statutes. For Dicey, it was the very keystone of the law of the constitution that Parliament is the
sovereign or supreme legislative authority in the state. He defined Parliamentary Sovereignty as The
principle of Parliamentary sovereignty means neither more nor less than this, namely, that
Parliament has, under the English constitution, the right to make or unmake any law whatever; and,
further, that no person or body is recognised by

Perception is everything. People never know what is going on with the other race or side. In
Toni Morrison s Recitatif she brings up racism and the societal normal. She never reveals race of
either of the girls in this story. Never knowing the race of the girls other than they are two different
races so how one racenever knows that the other is thinking about or where they are coming from.
In this story two girls meet and become friends and go separate directions. They continue to meet
throughout their lives and try to rekindle the childhood friendship as adults. In this story two girls
from very different back grounds and different races become fast friends. This shows how children
do not know the differences or the color lines that society has put into place. As children gender,
race, and religion is never an issue. Racismis something that society has created. Society has
made racism one of the main barriers throughout the world. In the story the two girls are friends
and live in a group home. The girls were witnesses to some bad things carried out by the older girls
in the home. They end up separating and going different ways in life. When they meet up later
while rekindling their relationship begin to reminisce about their childhood. They come to find out
that their perception and memories do not exactly match up. The way things are perceived can

In addition, nonacademic education is also important and a good choice when we choose a
major. Moreover, college can give a lot of help to our life. Therefore, I think whether we study
academic majors or nonacademic majors, going to college is the best choice for me and it helps
me a lot to prepare for the future. I predict in the future, the education system will be perfect and
everyone will go to college.

The Good Shepherd Village ( Gsv )
The Good Shepherd Village (GSV) located on 300 acres in a semi rural community within easy
driving distance of Philadelphia had history of more than 20 years. In the facility, GSV has 570
independent living units 120 licensed nursing card beds, 30 assisted living beds and 20 studio
units. The management team at GSV is very conservative, they nervous to make changes or adapt
to some new ideas.
Key players
The key player in the case is Pat Evans, became Director of Health Services for six months at
GSV, and he noticed two main issues at GSV, 1) most of the decisions for levels of care are
economic driven; 2) weak correlation between each department.
Therefore, he promotes his idea about integrated delivery system to the board, and he forms a group
called The Geriatric assessment and Care Planning Team which gather medical, rehabilitation, social
services, nursing staffs to work together on resident health assessment. But his plan bristled with
difficulties.
Some other key players are Reverend Kathleen Mueller, the chair of board, she strong supports
the plan; Dr. Alexis Schmidt who is Medical Director, he deeply disagrees Pat s idea about
integrated delivery systems; Bill Wagner, executive director, Dr. Schmidt and she make the final
decision to determine the residents level of care, and she has concern of pat s plan as well. And
there are also some minor players like, Louise Richards, chief physical therapist; Maggie Newman,
Director of nursing.

Roman Road As A Direct Straight Forward Path
Roman Road is a direct straight forward path to the need of salvation.
As the scriptures say No one is righteous not even one (3:10). For everyone has sinned; we all fall
short of God s glorious standard (3:23). When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam s sin
brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned (5:12). For the wages of sin is
death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (6:23). But God showed
his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (5:8). If you openly
declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and ... Show more

In the society we live in today people are selfish and narsistic by nature. I believe it is because
the world has fallen away from God. While Jesus walked on this earth He served. Not only did
he serve the people he met but he served God. Having a servant mentality is putting someone
else s needs before your own. Serventhood begins by fullfiling a need of a person without
judgement and/or condemnation. It could be as easy as preparing a meal for a family who has
just welcomed a baby into the family or cleaning the yard of a person who is unable to do it
themselves. When a persons needs are being met it opens their heart and mind to the reasoning
behind the act. Mission trips are also a great way of serving. Not all missions are done in other
countries, they can be done in your town just as easy as abroad. The purpose in a mission is serve
a group of people on behalf of God.
An Advantage would be that a person is able to have their needs met while also witnessing the
love of Jesus. The idea behind servanthood would be to establish a relationship. Earning the trust of
the person by simply showing that their needs matter and deserve to be met. An advantage of
serving would be inviting a nonbeliever to join you on a mission trip. The thought of travel often
times is enough to get a person interested, in turn the Holy Spirit will utilize the servanthood to
pour into the heart of a nonbeliever that may not be possible in their own back yard.

Mesoamerican was a Ball Game of Life and Death from History
The Mesoamerican ball game began over 3,500 years ago. Ceremonies, city and daily life
revolved around this exciting sport. The survival of the both the players and the spectators
depended on the outcome of the game. The Mesoamerican ball game had a court to play on, a ball
that was used during the game, uniforms that the players wore, and rules to follow during gameplay.
Even though the Mesoamerican ball gamewas the first sport, it was a very advanced sport with
how many different ideas went into the creation of the game. The ball game was found all over
Latin America including in the Olmec, Toltec, Maya and Azteccivilizations with the Olmecs
believed to be the inventors of the game. The Mesoamerican ball game was not just an exciting
and dangerous sport; it was a winner takes all competition. The ball game was a game of life or
death. The Mesoamerican ball game was said to be invented around the Pre classical Period by
the Olmecs and was a well adopted sport by many different civilizations by the time of the
Classical Period. In Mesoamerican mythology the ball game is a significant factor in the story of
the Mayan gods Hun Hunahpu and Vucub Hunahpu. Both of these gods had annoyed the gods of
the underworld with their noisy playing and the two brothers were tricked into going into the
underworld where they were challenged to a ball game (Cartwright). The two brothers eventually
lost the game and Hun Hunahpu had his head cut off. This would be a common practice in the

The Bible Is The Only Truth
I was raised in a Christian home and taught that the Bible is the only truth, The Word of God. I was
encouraged to not put my trust in men, because men will always make mistakes, but trust in God,
because he is perfect. I solemnly believed that in order to trust in God, I had to obey the Bible.
When I was 18 years old, I became a volunteer translator for a non denominational American
religious organization in Brazil. During that time, I visited hundreds of churches in many Brazilian
states. American missionaries founded most of the churches in Brazil. During my first training, I
was directed not to translate or mention anything about controversial issues, because it could cause
conflict with the denomination s teachings. Over the years I started to question: why are there so
many denominations? Why are all these churches following the same Biblebut cannot agree with
each other? Why are there so many divisions when the Bible teaches unity?
Christians follow the Bible. Christianity is the most popular, and the most followed religion in the
world as it is practiced by at least 33.39% of the world s population (Central Intelligence Agency).
The Bible is a collection of texts considered sacred in Judaism and Christianity (Riches). It has
influenced world history, arts, literature, politics, science, education, morality, laws, constitutions,
and even the calendar. The Bible is the bestselling non fiction book of all times, translated into 349
languages (Guiness World

Warner Brothers Fraud
What I found most interesting about this article were the examples that highlighted the
corruption that some of our countries most elite production companies are guilty of. This article
proves that some people will walk over others by lying and stealing all for the chance to increase
their individual profits. It s no wonder independent films are emerging alongside It is surprising
to me that J.K. Rowling with all of her success has not contested the financial statements that
Warner Brothers has offered to the public. If the article is true then she has entitled too much
more money. With a large financial estate like hers, I wonder why her accountants haven t
notified her of this potential for lack of a better word, theft. The aforesaid considered I am
wondering if perhaps her accountants have been monetarily persuaded to overlook these details
or perhaps there is a possibility that Ms. Rowling has been secretly compensated which would
explain her silence. I guess my real question is how far are they willing to go? Fraudcould lead to
bribery. Bribery could lead to blackmail and blackmail could lead to murder. Ethically, it never
makes sense to misrepresent financial data. As we learned in from the Dutch, mutual trust and

explains where the company will obtain the money for the new finance and accounting (F and

because of the manual processes in place for financial reporting. A major reason for the issues
concerning the current F and A system is that each of the facilities has a different F and A
system that is not compatible with the others (Apollo Group, 2005, 2006). The lack of
compatibility shows up in the form of different types of data that the finance staff receives. This
data includes information provided by facilities via hardcopy reports and must be re entered.
Some of the data received is via data files but the information is not in the correct format. The
result is to convert the data or redirect the data to the proper account codes. This can be a
logistical nightmare for any company because there are so many methods for records keeping.
Consolidation of these records will be highly challenging for Riordan while trying to implement

  • 2. Constitutional Democratic Republic Political Change Next, a constitutional democratic republic facilitates political change and progress. This is a predominant attribute surrounding a government, as without it, no wrong can be solved or ailment corrected. The American Suffrage movement is an impeccable example of political change being a necessity in order to grant women suffrage. Due to the availability and mercurial nature of a constitutional democratic republic, even massive alterations such as granting suffrage to a group of citizens is possible. Without this allowance for political change and social progress women would most likely not be allowed to vote. Thus, the 19th amendment is a visible demonstration of this allowance for political change even under extreme circumstances (Constitution).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This hinders the establishment of a one party states, such as demonstrated in China, North Korea, Cuba, Laos, Vietnam, and Eritrea. One party states remove the ability of citizens to think for themselves, independent from the ideas of the government. It also limits a citizen s ability to project their opinion as there is only a singular party as an option. This party is the preference of the government and often times has the government s sustainability as the paramount concern (Gale). Yet, a multi party/dual party state allows for a broader scheme of citizens opinions and preferences to be incorporated into the government. As well, the re election cycle every four years, allows for the possibility of a new party to take the presidency, giving a refresh on mass opinion, and making sure the democratic preference has the presidential seat. This idea of a re election cycle is also seen in the Senate, the Supreme Court and Gubernatorial positions. Thus, these frequent modifications to our nation s leadership allow for a much needed availability for political change and progress in new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Determining the Accuracy of a Non-Contact Infrared... Among many people, fever is commonplace while sick. This is especially true of pediatric patients who develop fevers at the slightest indication of infection. 20% of emergency room visits for children are due to an elevated temperature. (Fortuna et al., 2010 p. 103) A rectal temperature above 100.4В°F is considered to be fever. The preferred method of obtaining an accurate temperaturereading is rectally, as this gives the most precise core temperature reading. In some patients however, rectal thermometry is contraindicated and an alternative method of measuring their temperature is needed. Not many alternatives currently exist to give as accurate of a core temperature reading as the rectal thermometer. The research article I chose to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before beginning, general information was collected from the child s parent or guardian about any fever reducing medication given, the patient s age, and what was bothering the child. The study followed important aspects of the nursing process. First, the patients were assessed to determine how sick they were and whether or not they qualified to participate in the study. The tools for the research, in this case both thermometers, were acquired and implemented. The children s temperature was then evaluated using both thermometers. The process in which the data was obtained for the research study was as follows: The rectal thermometer was inserted and held in place for 15 seconds and was then read. The same trained person would then use the infrared thermometer in the middle of the forehead immediately after the rectal temperature was recorded. The infrared thermometer had to be calibrated to the temperature of the room before using. The people trained to use both thermometers correctly for this study were two registered nurses, two paramedics and two pediatric emergency physicians. (Fortuna et al., 2010 p. 102) All of the data collected was gathered by one of these six people. The results of this research study showed a discrepancy that was too large between the rectal thermometer and the non contact infrared thermometer. There was a difference of as many as 4В°F. • 5. Stroop Effect Lab Report Abstract The goal of this rendition of John Stroop s classic Stroop Effect experiment is to obtain and demonstrate the reaction time needed to mentally process the tasks given (colors and words) under the two different conditions (congruent and incongruent). A prediction of the result was made using the speed of processing theory, which implies that different tasks are processed cognitively at different rates, showing the difference in processing rates (times) for relevant and irrelevant information to the tasks. In our rendition, the classic experiment was slightly altered to include incongruent and congruent information, as well as the basic words and names tasks. Using the speed of processing theory we were able to make a hypothesis in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is used to depict the delay in reaction that occurs when we must information collides and fight for processing. The Horse Race model of automaticity is used to describe how the mind works in this experiment. The model consists of two horses; color and word who are both racing to the finish line, the finish line being the response. While both horses race, the word horse will be more likely to win the race as we process words faster; its automatic. As per Macleod, the problem arises once we attempt duel processing, which is suppressing the word horse to process the color horse as this causes a greater delay in response. Conflicting information is at the core of the stroop effect. In the traditional experiment the focus was on the color not on the word, in this experiment the second variable congruency (incongruent and congruent) were added. Congruent meaning the words shown coincide with the color, incongruent meaning they do not. The reaction time of the participants for congruent were faster overall as there is no competing information. Brown states that the association process in naming simple objects like colors is radically different from the association process in reading printed words (Stroop 1935). Meaning that word processing has a speed advantage over color as it is automatic, which can be considered task irrelevant when the participants were asked to process colors; resulting in a ... The newly proposed land use element policy wants to address the demand for housing, employment, and lifestyle choices. While Rosenberg s theory deals with affect and cognition, Festinger s theory examines consistency among cognitive elements or beliefs about oneself, behavior, or environment. Dissonance occurs when elements are logically inconsistent or psychologically inconsistent because of cultural mores, specific opinions deviating from more encompassing opinions, or information or experiences that are contrary to previous information or experiences. Dissonance motivates the individual to reduce the dissonance and return to consonance. When faced with dissonance, the individual seeks to avoid situations or information that may increase dissonance.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Studies on counter attitudinal advocacy are based on dissonance theory. Individuals who are asked to write an essay or present a speech promoting a position contrary to their beliefs become committed to certain aspects of the contrary position. This causes dissonance, which the individuals attempt to reduce by changing their original position or attitude. The stronger the magnitude of the dissonance, the stronger the need to change the original attitude. The simple act of decision making creates dissonance, too. The magnitude of the dissonance is related to the importance of the decision and the attractiveness of both the chosen and the unchosen alternatives. Researchers have a better understanding of the interactions between attitudes and opinions and actions and behaviors, so consistency theories that are not directly related to processes are of little interest to today s cognitive scientists who tend to be more process oriented than behaviorists who studied consistency ... In recent years, with the development of electronic technology and the widespread use of electronic platforms, software patents has become a hot topic that frequently discussed by the public. To a certain extent, the patent brought many exclusive economic rights to the product inventors; the inventors can get a lot of additional economic benefits with their product patent, especially in terms of software patent. However, on the other hand, the negative effects of patents also should not be underestimated, such as it might obstruct creativity, and it might cause an unnecessary litigation in order to compete the patent. Compared to the positive effects of the patent, the negative effects of the patent seems to be more prominent. This essay will discuss the usefulness and the harmfulness of patent from three parts. In the first part, the essay will briefly discuss the concept of the patent and its general applications. Then, it will analyze the disadvantages of patent. In 2001, the U.S economy fell into recession after the dotcom crisis and the terrorist event on September 11. To encourage the consumption, the central bank had lowered interest rates. The result was that with interest rates so low, investment and consumption became too easy, the U.S financial markets rapidly back and created real estate bubble . Vasquez defines a world war as: A large scale severe war among major states that involves the leading states at some point in the war and most of the major states in a struggle to resolve the most fundamental issues on the global political agenda (Vasquez). Focussing on the development from 2011 on, the first half of 2011 is marked of economic recovery, supported by market regulations like Basel III and the OeNB supplying large amounts of long term liquidity, leading to a decreasing unemployment rate. In the second half of the year geopolitical tensions like an earthquake in Japan, growth in debt in several Euro countries, tensions in the bond and interbank market led to uncertainty in the global financial markets which negatively influenced the Austrian labour market pushing the unemployment rate on a level of 4.3%. 2012 is considered to be a year of economic slowdown. Decreasing exports, less domestic investments and consumption led to less demand for la bour and increased the unemployment rate from 4.0% to 5.0%. In 2013 a slight increase of the Austrian economy can be spotted inter alia in increasing domestic consumption. On the other hand more foreign workers are entering the Austrian labour market due to worse situations in their home countries, making the unemployment rate rise to 5.6%. The upcoming years 2014 and 2015 are marked by slow economic growth and an ongoing increase of the Austrian labour force leading the unem ployment rate to settle down around 5.6%. • 35. Incorporation Of Emotions And The Workplace Incorporation of Emotions in the Workplace It is a general understanding that emotions and the workplace do not go along. Nonetheless, emotions are an imminent part of who we are as humans, and emotions are present in influencing our everyday activities and decisions. This makes it highly unlikely and utopic to believe that emotions will not be part of our workplace. The true issue is how to cope with it and how much is in fact too much. Anne Kreamer is a former high executive at Nickelodeon who wrote a book that deals with these issues and concerns, and she wisely addresses them by first defining concepts, and then giving alternatives as to what to do and how to deal with them. She successfully has achieved through her book to reach out to the entire population, and deal with a taboo issue straightforward without affecting sensibilities, and instead opening the minds of millions who have had the opportunity to read her book titled It s always personal: Navigating Emotion in the New Workplace. She manages to incorporate real life experiences and concerns, as well as biological and scientifically proven facts about emotion, followed by tools and exercises that help people cope with everyday feelings and emotions at the workplace, and even more important, she developed four character descriptions, none of which are mutually exclusive and instead overlap, but all equally important assets to any company. Ever since we have been kids we have annoyed are parents with the million dollar question, what is that? to help solve our endless curiosity, or perhaps just to shut us up, we have been told stories. Creation stories work the same way. In order to explain complex and elaborate events, such as the creation of the world, we tell stories that act as guidelines as to how and why these things came about. To keep their culture alive they would combat creation stories like Marduk and Tiamat by telling the stories of Genesis. • 39. Missa Caput Cantus Firmus Upon studying the Missa Caput, thought to be composed by Guillaume Dufay but will remain as Anonymous , one can classify it as a cantus firmus mass. Both the Anonymous composer of the Missae Caput and composer Jacob Obrecht utilize the Caput section of Venit Ad Petrum as the cantus firmus and basis for the Sanctus sections of their mass compositions. Anonymous mass threads consonant sonorities in and out of each vocal line; a trend set by the influence of the English and their Contenance angloise In J. Peter Burkholder s History of Western Music, he writes, It consisted especially in the frequent use of harmonic thirds and sixths, often in parallel motion, resulting in pervasive consonance with few dissonances (Burkholder 167). The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Anonymous mass uses the original pitches for the caput melisma, Obrecht transposes them up a fourth and assigns the contra voice the cantus firmus. The transposition and reassignment allows for the tenor line to add different colors through accidentals, while maintaining the basic function of the cantus firmus. Additionally, these techniques bring out rhythmic motifs found throughout the Sanctus through a different balance of pitch. A different texture is perceived if the tenor line can complement the cantus firmus rather than be it completely. Unlike Anonymous mass, Obrecht s mass contains obvious rhythmic imitation. The use of dotted quarter notes which are almost always preceded by eighth note or sixteenth note melismatic rhythms is prevalent throughout and allows for a cohesive mental processing of it s many homophonic rhythms as a contrast. Obrecht s application of imitation tricks the listener into confusion, only to then bring back homophonic texture to seemingly create a distinction between cacophony and harmony. While Anonymous mass adopts parallel motion counterpoint to weave the lines away from each other and back together again, Obrecht makes his lines less rhythmically uniform. The lessening of rhythmic uniform maintains tonal like gravity to the cantus firmus. The pitches often create consonance, quickly deviate away to form a new tonality, only to find themselves returning to thirds and sixths. The entrance of the caput cantus firmus outlines a major triad exactly as it is in the anonymous mass; however, the chord is reminiscent to C Major as the cantus firmus sings an E . Both composers use the beginning pitch of their cantus firmi as the third of the triads much before the true age of tonality. This could be a considerable instance of the origins and evolution of tonality through music ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Power Of Parliament And Parliamentary Sovereignty Prior to the English Civil War and Glorious Revolution the Crown acted outside Parliament, causing there to be a struggle for power between the King, the Courts and the Parliament in the 17th Century. Eventually the Courts and Parliament defeated the power of the King and Parliamentary Sovereignty emerged. Parliamentary sovereignty holds that parliament has absolute sovereignty it is the supreme law maker over all other government institutions. There are no legal limitations on the legislative competence of Parliament and no person is allowed to override or set aside the law of Parliament. R (on the application of Jackson) v AG (2005) shows that the definition of an Act of Parliament differs according to whether it has been passed with consent of House of Commons and Lords or just the House of Commons. The courts have the power to decide if a document is an Act of Parliament. In this case they found that the Parliament Act 1949 and the Hunting Act 2004 were passed under procedure laid down by Parliament Act 1949 and are valid statutes. For Dicey, it was the very keystone of the law of the constitution that Parliament is the sovereign or supreme legislative authority in the state. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God s glorious standard (3:23). When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned (5:12). For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (6:23). But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (5:8). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the society we live in today people are selfish and narsistic by nature. I believe it is because the world has fallen away from God. While Jesus walked on this earth He served. Not only did he serve the people he met but he served God. Having a servant mentality is putting someone else s needs before your own. Serventhood begins by fullfiling a need of a person without judgement and/or condemnation. It could be as easy as preparing a meal for a family who has just welcomed a baby into the family or cleaning the yard of a person who is unable to do it themselves. When a persons needs are being met it opens their heart and mind to the reasoning behind the act. Mission trips are also a great way of serving. Not all missions are done in other countries, they can be done in your town just as easy as abroad. The purpose in a mission is serve a group of people on behalf of God. An Advantage would be that a person is able to have their needs met while also witnessing the love of Jesus. The idea behind servanthood would be to establish a relationship. Earning the trust of the person by simply showing that their needs matter and deserve to be met. An advantage of serving would be inviting a nonbeliever to join you on a mission trip. The thought of travel often times is enough to get a person interested, in turn the Holy Spirit will utilize the servanthood to pour into the heart of a nonbeliever that may not be possible in their own back yard. ... • 51. The Bible Is The Only Truth I was raised in a Christian home and taught that the Bible is the only truth, The Word of God. I was encouraged to not put my trust in men, because men will always make mistakes, but trust in God, because he is perfect. I solemnly believed that in order to trust in God, I had to obey the Bible. When I was 18 years old, I became a volunteer translator for a non denominational American religious organization in Brazil. During that time, I visited hundreds of churches in many Brazilian states. American missionaries founded most of the churches in Brazil. During my first training, I was directed not to translate or mention anything about controversial issues, because it could cause conflict with the denomination s teachings. Over the years I started to question: why are there so many denominations? Why are all these churches following the same Biblebut cannot agree with each other? Why are there so many divisions when the Bible teaches unity? Christians follow the Bible. Christianity is the most popular, and the most followed religion in the world as it is practiced by at least 33.39% of the world s population (Central Intelligence Agency). The Bible is a collection of texts considered sacred in Judaism and Christianity (Riches). It has influenced world history, arts, literature, politics, science, education, morality, laws, constitutions, and even the calendar. The Bible is the bestselling non fiction book of all times, translated into 349 languages (Guiness World ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 53. Warner Brothers Fraud What I found most interesting about this article were the examples that highlighted the corruption that some of our countries most elite production companies are guilty of. This article proves that some people will walk over others by lying and stealing all for the chance to increase their individual profits. It s no wonder independent films are emerging alongside It is surprising to me that J.K. Rowling with all of her success has not contested the financial statements that Warner Brothers has offered to the public. If the article is true then she has entitled too much more money. With a large financial estate like hers, I wonder why her accountants haven t notified her of this potential for lack of a better word, theft. The aforesaid considered I am wondering if perhaps her accountants have been monetarily persuaded to overlook these details or perhaps there is a possibility that Ms. Rowling has been secretly compensated which would explain her silence. I guess my real question is how far are they willing to go? Fraudcould lead to bribery. Bribery could lead to blackmail and blackmail could lead to murder. Ethically, it never makes sense to misrepresent financial data. As we learned in from the Dutch, mutual trust and respect can cause an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Investing in an integrated computer system for its finance and accounting department will increase Riordan s productivity without greatly affecting its ability to repay its debts. Budget A detailed written budget for Riordan Manufacturing Incorporated is available. The budget explains where the company will obtain the money for the new finance and accounting (F and A) system. The existing system is obsolete. The system is costing the company time and money because of the manual processes in place for financial reporting. A major reason for the issues concerning the current F and A system is that each of the facilities has a different F and A system that is not compatible with the others (Apollo Group, 2005, 2006). The lack of compatibility shows up in the form of different types of data that the finance staff receives. This data includes information provided by facilities via hardcopy reports and must be re entered. Some of the data received is via data files but the information is not in the correct format. The result is to convert the data or redirect the data to the proper account codes. This can be a logistical nightmare for any company because there are so many methods for records keeping. Consolidation of these records will be highly challenging for Riordan while trying to implement and training staff on how to use the new system (Apollo Group, 2005, 2006). The funding for the new F and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
