Saint Laura Vicuna Pino is the patron saint of abuse victims. She was born in Chile in 1891 and moved to Argentina with her family after her father died. In Argentina, she suffered abuse at the hands of Manuel Mora, who abused both her and her mother on multiple occasions. Saint Laura ultimately sacrificed her life for her mother, dying of disease at the age of 13 in 1904. She is remembered for enduring cruelty and abuse with compassion.
