Saint Liberata was a Portuguese princess whose father arranged an abusive marriage for her. She prayed to Jesus not to have to marry her father's ally, and miraculously grew facial hair to repel him. As a result, the wedding was canceled and Liberata was crucified. She is the patron saint of those seeking relief from abusive marriages. One legend says she miraculously grew a beard to cancel her arranged marriage, and she helps women seeking liberation from abusive husbands.
