John Locke, a prominent philosopher of the 17th century, has left a lasting impact on various
fields, including political philosophy and epistemology. To delve into his ideas and articulate
them effectively requires a comprehensive understanding of his works and the ability to critically
analyze and interpret his concepts.
One of the difficulties lies in navigating through Locke's extensive body of work, including his
notable pieces such as "Two Treatises of Government" and "An Essay Concerning Human
Understanding." These texts delve into complex subjects like natural rights, the social contract,
and empiricism, demanding a meticulous examination of Locke's nuanced arguments.
Moreover, crafting an essay on John Locke necessitates a deep dive into the historical and
intellectual context of his time. Understanding the political climate, philosophical debates, and
the Enlightenment era is crucial for providing a well-rounded analysis of Locke's ideas.
Balancing the exploration of Locke's theories with one's original thoughts and insights poses
another challenge. It's essential to present a coherent and cohesive essay that not only
synthesizes Locke's philosophy but also contributes a unique perspective or interpretation.
Additionally, grappling with potential counterarguments and engaging in a scholarly dialogue
adds complexity to the task. Addressing criticisms of Locke's ideas and demonstrating a
nuanced understanding of opposing viewpoints can elevate the quality of the essay.

Aspiration Pneumoniis
Aspiration is known as the inhalation of taking material into the lungs as well as
gastric contents or oropharyngeal into the airways. Aspiration usually leads to serious
complications such as aspiration pneumonia, which is an infectious process from
aspiration of oropharyngeal contents. Aspiration pneumonitis is direct chemical lung
injury from the aspirated material. Most often it cannot be distinguished clinically or
radiographically from aspiration pneumonia.
During aspiration, the normal swallowing process can be disrupted. A bacterium
enters the lungs following aspiration of oropharyngeal material that contains a
mixture of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Most healthy adults who are in a situation
to aspirate infection doesn t usually

Synthesis Of Aspirin Synthesis
Synthesis of Aspirin
Erin Chase Arellano CHEM 12A
ABSTRACT
Acetylsalicylic or most commonly known as Aspirin is made through a combination
of salicylic acid and acetic anhydride. It is use to relieve mild to moderate pain such
as muscle pain, headaches and common cold and reduce fever.
The objective of this experiment was to synthesize aspirin from salicylic acid and
acetic anhydride. The purity of aspirin was tested using the ferric chloride test and %
yield was also calculated. Below drawing is the synthesis reaction of aspirin:

African Imperialism DBQ
European powers shamelessly exploited the people and resources of Africa in the
19th century. They often tried to justify their actions by using ideology, religion and
moralism. After the end of the African slave trade, the development of steam power,
and medical discovery, European nations started exploring not only the coast but also
the unmapped interior of the continent. In this essay, I will explain the main driving
forces behind African Imperialism. The Western europeans countries all competed for
land and resources because of their self interest. They sought natural resources, and
technology gave them the ability to exploit them. The philosophy of national pride
however, was the primary reason. (Main document) (Doc C, D B)
The technical advances in the early and middle part of the 19th century enabled
Western European powers to exploit imperial objectives in Africa. Among these
advances were the steam engine, extraction of quinine, invention of the telegraph,
steal processing and improved weaponry. The steam engine was important in
increasing the speed and reliability of transportation. Extracting quinine from the
bark of the cinchona tree helped treat malaria; a mosquito borne disease that killed
thousands; it was now possible to survive in the interior of Africa. The telegraph was
invented in 1837 and allowed fast communication over long ... Show more content on

These countries wanted their most worthy citizens to be part of their imperial
desires, which lead to a philosophy of their ideals, religion and morals being
developed. They meant that they could justify the colonies and labor based on the
superiority of their culture, and the need to spread it to other cultures. When doing
this, local cultures often destroyed, and people lost a sense of their identity. (Doc
Analysis Of Misinterpreted By Rousseau
. Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains. This is perhaps one of the most
famous concepts presented by Rousseau and it can be found in Book One of the
Social Contract in Classics of Moral and Political Theory. When I first read this
quote, I misinterpreted it. I suspect that this was the case for most people. I first
thought that this quote had a bit of a carpe diem vibe. I thought the meaning was
something along the lines of making sure we live in the moment and to go experience
the world. The better translation is more along the lines of human nature is currently
in conflict with itself. Human nature tends to include the need for freedom, and
Rousseau claims that we are working against ourselves as whole to achieve this...

This is a good example to help discern the difference between a natural authority
relationship and an unnatural authority relationship. A man, Grotius, denies that all
human power is established for the benefit of the governed, citing slavery as an
example. He says that the relationship between a ruler and his subjects resembles the
relationship between a father and his child because the ruler cares for his subjects.
Grotius is assuming natural superiority of rulers over the people they rule. Rousseau
disagrees with this argument. Rousseau states that the superiority that a ruler boasts
over his subjects is driven by force, not by nature. Rousseau is basically saying that
the ruler has unlimited rights over his subject merely because he forces them to be
obedient. Therefore, such political authority has no place in nature. In conclusion,
Rousseau argues that there is only one instance where natural authority occurs in
society. This instance is the relationship between a father and child. This relationship,
however, is not an everlasting one. Rousseau states that the only reason the
relationship between father and child is natural is because of the dependence the
child has on the father. The child is in need of the father in order to survive. Once
that need is no longer there and the child is no longer reliant on the father, the natural
authority relationship no longer
Value Of Life Essay
Hello class of 2018 , parents, family, friends, and SOAR faculty. I am honored to be
addressing you guys today during our high school graduation. I never thought I
would personally make it this far, but here I am.Today I would like to talk to you
guys about the value of life. I am going to address my personal point of view on the
valueof life, and how I feel about it. I know some of you might have never thought
about how valuable your life is. Hopefully, by the end of my speech you will have a
new perspective on life. Let s begin.
Before I begin I would like to tell you guys what I think about life. Personally, I value
life as something special, that should never be taken for granted. I strongly feel
that life is special and even if you are wealthy or poor it does not matter because in
the end you are still living. I feel that today in American society a lot of us do not
value life as much as we should. This is due to the fact that we are so privileged
that ist is hard to realize how valuable our life is. However, in poorer countries the
people view life as something sacred and understand life s true values, and know
how special it is. I would like to state that you cannot put a price tag on someone s
life. But people begin to think what is a life worth? If you research online you will
find that there are Human Life Value Calculator and personally I think these are
inaccurate and inhumane. Essentially, what this calculator does is it takes your

Cloud Computing And Google App Engine Development
Cloud Computing and Google App Engine development
About cloud computing:
Cloud computing is a term coined for a recent trend towards service oriented cluster
computing/processing based on certain SLA and other benefits. It provides simplified
and automated process for configuring, deployment, maintenance and easy process to
manage the resources. The offering of different clouds (Azure, google, AWS etc.) may
differ, but what s common among them is Virtualization and performance isolation
for per user/application.
Cloud computing can broadly be classified into 3 broad categories:
Software as a service SaaS describes a system in which high level functionality
software as an on demand is hosted by a cloud and shared to end client using thin
client application via internet. The main feature of SaaS systems is that the API
offered to the cloud client is for a complete software service. The SaaS Cloud
provider may charge end user based on number of users or number of requests hit on
hosted API. Example Sales Force.
Platform as a service PaaS refers to the availability of scalable services through an
interface from which restricted network accessible, applications written in high level
languages (Java,.net, python etc.) can be created. Two examples of PaaS systems are
Google App Engine (GAE) and Microsoft Azure.
Infrastructure as a Service IaaS describes a services for provisioning virtualized
operating system instances, storage, and network capacity under contract from a
The Pros And Uses Of Identity Theft
According to Reyns (2013), Identity theft is a term used to categorize several offenses
involving the fraudulent use of an individual s personal information for criminal
purposes without their consent. Someone has decided to hijack someone s personal
identification information and caused not only financial damage but also impacted
the victim s reputation. In order to seek justice, a Forensic Accountant can be utilized
to help with recovering the damage caused by identity theftand the steps taken to
make the victim whole again while seeking civil and criminal justice.
Identity theft is an increasing epidemic . Some of the ways a person can commit
identity theft would be using someone s person identification information for
financial benefit. Some the ways a perpetrator can do this is by using another
individual s personal information such as date of birth, driver license number, social
security number, etc. Essentially, there are different type s identity crimes such as
financial, medical, child and synthetic identity theft. (VanderPal, 2015)
Fraudsters have turned to many different methods to obtain personal information
such as social engineering. Social engineering attacks are multifaceted and include
physical, social and technical aspects, which are used in different stages of the actual
attack.( Krombhol, Hobel, Huber, Weippl, 2015) For example, a perpetrator can
obtain personal information by stealing an individual s mail, or sending fictitious
emails posing
Increase Magnesium Intake
Have you ever experienced feeling so weak and sleep deprived at work? It is
normal for anyone to feel the 3pm slump. Most of us have to live a busy life and we
start our day busy to finish the task all throughout the day and just when our day was
about to end, we might feel tired and lazy and it is not unusual.
We usually feel tired and sleepy during mid afternoon. Commonly, this is the timeof
the day when our energy reserved for the whole of the day is almost drained out.
However, we should not just let our body slouch in our desk once we feel exhausted.
Let s check out some of the quick ways to boost energy effectively.
Increase Your Magnesium Intake
Magnesium is one of the most essential mineral needed by the body. This mineral
helps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This will ensure that your body gets enough minerals and vitamins needed by the
body to function well. The recommended magnesium intake for a woman is 300
milligrams and 350 milligrams for men. Try eating foods reach in magnesium to
reach the right level of magnesium in the body. Fish, almond, whole grains,
hazelnuts, cashews and other nuts are some of the foods that are rich in magnesium.
Power Nap
Taking a quick nap can help you recharge and regain your energy. There are
researches showing that pushing the brain to think too hard can cause energy zap.
Taking a nap can make you regain energy and reverse the effect of information
overload. Ten to thrity minutes of nap is enough to boost your energy and not to
throw off your sleep at night.
Don t Skip Meals
Over and over again, we are reminded not to skip meals; however, not all of us are
aware of the fallout of skipping meals . When you skip meals, you are messing up
your body s fueling method which means that you are not fueling your body with
enough energy to perform well all throughout the day. Skipping meals can cause
your blood sugar level to dive and sugar is needed by the body to keep your body
functions running. Without enough blood sugar level, you will more likely to feel
tired and unwell

Hackers have taken very less time to convert or crack the passwords due to very
weak encryption of the data. In addition to this, Last.fm has not used salting
technique which appends a random string of numbers at the end of every password
making them more secure and there by decreasing the likelihood of hackers
cracking the password. Though similar kind of breaches occured before in several
social networking sites due to weak passwords, there is no improvement in the usage
of complex and unique passwords for each website. This can be avoided by making
sure that an organization uses strong authentication system which handles weak
passwords and doesn t allow user enter into the website without creating the strong

The Tourism Promotion Efforts Of Tunisia Essay
After questioning thirty tourists from several countries (Germany, France, Spain,
Japan, Lebanon, Turkey, Korea, Morocco, Russia, Italy and India) it turned out that
ninety percent of them use Internet for their booking, and ninety six percent of them
use it to gather information about Tunisia.
Thanks to ICTs everybody can make a full research about the country he chooses to
visit and he can book by himself wherever and whenever he likes. It doesn t need to
be with a high level of education to do all of that, it is sufficient to have a little
knowledge about the Internet and have a PC or phone, according to the
questionnaire, thirty three percent of tourists have a secondary level of education but
they use Internet.
Information and communication technology has become a key element for the
development in tourism; it is no longer an option for those in charge of the sector, but

Increasing Higher Level Science Classes During Grades 11...
Using the survey and interviews of teachers, I wanted to answer the question What is
causing fewer females than males to pursue higher level science classes during
grades 11 and 12? I gathered both qualitative and quantitative data from these
activities. From the survey, given to 11th and 12th grade femalestudents who were
either have taken or will be taking an AP science classes or regular science classthis
year, it was evident that there is a lack of interest with science outside the
classroom, but most believe they have a good understanding in scientific tasks.
This survey was given to 23 female students who met the criteria. Out of the 23
females, nine of them have been or would be in an AP science course. Of the
female students who have been enrolled in an AP science course, 89% feel like
they have a lot of success in science and 78% of them feel these courses help with
their future career choice, yet even though they believe their teachers have made
science exciting, all of them believe the school lacks the opportunities for pursuing
science related fields. The difference between the female students in AP courses
and those who are not, have a different outlook on how they feel regarding being
successful. The remaining 14 girls, 78% of them feel successful within their science
courses. From the interviews from fellow teachers, across the board there is a lack
of female presence in most AP science classes with the exception of biology. As for

Visual Effects On Free Throw Shooting Essay
Visual Effects on Free Throw Shooting What is the easiest way to earn points in a
basketball game? Free shots, also known as free throws, are given to a player after
being fouled. What do shooters focus on to score the given shots? They rely on what
they can see. What if the net was removed? Would the player s free throwaccuracy
increase or decrease? Visual targets, can have a tremendous effect on one s shot.
According to McCann, A. (2012), basketballplayers looking to make a shot would
focus on the net or even the hooks that hold the net to the rim. The human body is
a servant to touch, taste, smell, hearing, and sight. Reactions to the five senses
cause chain reactions that generate a person s brain to release chemicals that
produce responses. Sight enables a shooter to be aware of his or her distance to the
basket. The sense of touch allows a shooter to realize the proximity of the basketball
to his or her body. In the sport of basketball, when someone thinks of a perfect shot,
it is normally a three point shot that hits nothing but net. What if there was no net on
the rim? There would be no satisfaction of hearing the swish of the net after
successfully knocking down the field goal attempt. The net is not only a symbol to
accumulate the shot being made but also a target for several shooters. When the net
is gone, it gives the basketball goal and the rim a different appearance that, most of
the time, throws off shooters attempting to complete a
Summary Of Conservatism By Russell Kirk
According to Russell Kirk, there are six characteristics and rules that belongs to a
true conservative. The first would be the belief in a superior structure would rule
society just as well as conscience. That a confined logic, alone, cannot fulfill a human
s need for knowledge. Keith Feiling stated that despite the fact that members of
Conservative Party are realists, they believe that there are greater, unexplainable,
forces in the heavens and all around, that even human theories cannot explain. The
second explains that conservatives are indoctrinated that life is worth living, unlike
liberals, and do not force egalitarianism upon humanity. The third explains the
conservatives belief in the inequalities of men and only confirm equality of men
before God and the law. The belief that freedom and... Show more content on

The fifth is the belief that taxes serve to keep order and control anarchy and the
desire for power. The last is that recognition change is not thought of to be an
entirely good thing and that fast change could do bad as well as good, so
conservatives are wise and cautious with change.
Kirk explains that liberalism and radicalism was sufficiently more traditional in the
public s mind, while conservatism was not a popular concept at all, and the reason
for their demise if from their own doings and beliefs. In today s atmosphere, for
example, the issue of gun control is a very complicated and is still a debatable topic.
Conservatives are pro gun control and today s issues have been relating to gun
control laws and if they are needed. Along with immigration, another popular topic
today, conservatives believe in and support only legal immigration, and oppose
pardon to those who enter the United
Reproductive Rights Book Report
The book, Undivided Rights: Women of Color Organize for Reproductive Justice,
was published by the South End Press and written by Marlene Gerber Fried, Loretta
Ross, and Elena Gutierrez. Ultimately, due to the lack of inclusivity and
representation during the mainstream reproductive movement in the 20th century,
this book highlights the bravery and activism done by women of color and their
grassroots organizations in order to combat racismand stereotypes as well as to
broaden and redefine the meaning of reproductive rightsand reproductive justice, so
as to ensure that all women, not just middle class white women, had their voices
heard and addressed. With a thorough look at the various grassroots organizations as
well as the various women of color behind them, I believe this book does an
exceptional job at not only analyzing the historical contexts, but also analyzing the

Due to the mainstreaming of the reproductive rights movement, white women and
their reproductive needs were constantly highlighted and addressed, while the
women of color and the countless reproductive injustices that they faced were either
overlooked or ignored. Therefore, had it not been for this book, many of us would
still be under the impression that the overrepresentation of white middle class women
as well as the emphasis on pro choice was normal and the only necessary facts to
know about the reproductive rights movement of the 20th century. Moreover,
because of the emphasis placed on grassroots organizations and their significance, it
can also be argued that another purpose for writing this book was to show the
importance and necessity of grassroots organizations, as they played a major role in
impacting public policy in relation to reproductive rights and justice for women of
Critical Analysis Of David Lindsay Abaire s Good People
Everybody has a class no matter if your poor or rich. Examining the difference
between Southie and Chestnut Hill you can tell which class is poor and which
class is rich. Through Good People , David Lindsay Abaire argues that rich people
and poor people has a different life styles. This can be seen through his use of
imagery, characterization and conflict. In this play, David Lindsay Abaire uses
imagery to shows what type of life style that Southie and Chestnut Hill has. Firstly,
Southie has many poor people and broken things around them. For example,
Abaire shows how Southie s environment looks by the narration of the play, The
alley behind the Dollar store. There s a dumpster back there and a rusty chair and a
door labelled Dollar store (5). Another way, Chestnut Hill has many rich people
and many expensive things. For example, Abaire narrates about Mikes house in
details, Lights up on a beautiful home. The living room takes up most of the space.
Up and left we may see part of a foyer that leads to the front door. Doorways and
corridors lead off to other parts of the house the kitchen, the dining room, maybe
we see a staircase that leads up to the bedroom (105). The author went into details
to show how rich Mike is. Again, Abaire is showing us that anyone from Southie
will try their luck to get more money. For example, Margret is playing bingo with
her friends in a basement of a church, Margaret, jean and Dottie are at a folding table
in the basement of a
The Pathology Of Asthma
A major health problem for nearly 26 million Americans is asthma. This total
includes more than 7 million children. Asthma causes millions of lost school and
work days every year and is the third leading cause of hospitalization among
children. There is no cure for asthma, but the good news is that it can be managed
and treated, allowing you to live a normal, healthy life ( Learn About Asthma, 2016).
One out of ten children and one out of twenty adults are diagnosed with asthma
(Bryan, 2004). Asthma is noted as one of the most common chronic disorders
among children under the age of 18. In addition to the millions of lost school days,

In 1816, a French physician named Rene Laennec invented the stethoscope, which
allowed physicians to listen to the lungs of patients with asthma. Laennec was
convinced that the muscles involuntarily contracted the airways. The spirometer
became an important medical tool in 1846. It allowed physicians to measure the
strength of a patient s lungs, as well as how much air could be inhaled. In 1860,
Henry Hyde Salter, an asthmatic English physician, penned his research on several
hundred patients, and his realization that asthma tended to become worse when the
patients were sleeping. His recommended treatment for the asthma attacks: drink
strong black coffee. He also found that asthma responded to belladonna, known as
deadly nightshade, which, of course, is very poisonous. But, a chemical known as
atropine, which is combined with belladonna, helped to relieve asthma attacks. In
1892, Sir William Oster, an English physician, described three mechanisms of
asthma, which has formed the basis of today s treatments of asthma. Sir William
Oster proposed that asthma was caused by muscle contractions, inflammation and
abnormal nerve activity within the airways. By the early part of the 20th century,
scientists were able to produce a variety of different drugs that were able to relieve

Violence In The Shawshank Redemption
Released in 1994, The Shawshank Redemption is a crime and drama filled movie
under the direction of Mr. Frank Darabont. The Shawshank Redemption is one of
the best movies I have watched in my 19 years of life. This exceptional movie
displays many life lessons throughout with multiple themes that give the movie more
meaning. In the movie, you will see Andy Dufresne, Ellis Boyd Redding (or known
as Red,) Boggs, Warden Norton, Brooks Halten, and Tommy as very important
characters. This film possesses struggles of living in prison, and guilt that many
inmates feel from the crime they pursued. Most importantly, you will see friendships
formed that will last a lifetime. Hope and time are all the inmates have; and some of
them don t have the hope... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would totally recommend this movie to anyone. From what I have told you, you
can see exactly what I am talking about. This movie has many hardships, but it
comes along with an important message. For some, they might think Andy and
Red lost so much of their lives. For others, they think they gained so much more by
going to prison. Finally, after receiving redemption their lives continue. In my
opinion, I would have liked the movie to have kept going a little bit longer so we
could see what happens next. It would have been nice if we knew what happened
next with Red and Andy. So many questions could be asked such as: did the two of
them stay out of trouble? Did the two of them ever come back to the United States?
Over all The Shawshank Redemption is a dramatic film with an excellent cast and
with exceptional themes. If anyone wanted to see a movie that will drop their jaws, I
would tell them Shawshank is the movie to watch. It truly was an amazing
Workplace Violence And The Workplace
Workplace violence definition
OSHA Fact Sheet (2012) states workplace violence is a violence or the threat of
violence against workers (p.1). Workplace violence causes serious harm to employees
or homicide that can lead to deaths. Act in any kind of shapes and forms such as:
physical threat, threatening behavior, intention of assault and battery, verbal abuse,
beating, stabbing, rape, shooting, being followed, psychological trauma, suicide, treat
or obscene phone call/text, intimidation. Workplace violencecan happen to anyone,
anywhere at or outside the workplace location either during from/to work or from/to
client s traveling temporary or permanent where any work related duty performances.
It is not limited to just employees, but also customers, clients, and invitees.
Workplace violence is one of the most concerns for not just employers, but worldwide
workers.
Who is at risk?
Nearly 2 million records of American workers have been victims of workplace
violation each year. However, many more cases go unreported. The truth is,
workplace violence can strike anytime, anywhere, and no one is immune.
Workplace violence categories are violence by strangers, co workers, personal
relations, and by customers or clients. Some workers, notwithstanding, are at
increased risk at certain worksites. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)
Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries that there are a total of 4,405 fatal work
injuries in 2013, 4,628 fatal work injuries in 2012.
Personal Narrative-The Hospital
The Hospital Come on Leroy, what is the worst thing that could happen? I mean,
isn t that the whole entire reason we took this gap year? I bet we could get some
crazy footage and it would be really cool.
As Joe kept rattling off all of the reasons that they should go, Leroy began to give
up and eventually sighed Fine i ll go! Joe had heard stories of an abandoned
hospital in the middle of the forest before and he had never really bought into them
before. Whenever anybody else at his high school talked about it a few questions
that Joe always thought of ruled out the possibility of such a place existing. Who
would randomly make a hospital in the middle of the woods, and why would it then
be abandoned. The only reasonable explanation is that it didn t exist. So while ...

The Use Of Animal Assisted Therapy For Treating Patients...
Contraindications With limited empirical research supporting the use and
effectiveness of animal assisted therapy, it is reasonable to suggest that the costs of
implementing AAT into occupational therapy are not worth the benefits.
Occupational therapy modalities are already effective at treating patients with many
different disabilities and/or disorders integrating a new type of therapyinto
occupational therapy is less convenient and more expensive than leaving an already
effective therapy as is.

1). Another concern for the use of animals in occupational therapy is how the
therapist will obtain therapy animals (Cipriani et al., 2013, p. 215). If no suitable
animals are immediately available from other sources, the cost of the therapist
obtaining, training, and certifying their own therapy animal is not insignificant.
However, if an animal is available from another source, whether it be a volunteer or
an organization, proper investigation must be done to determine the reliability and
legitimacy of the provider and of the therapy animal. Winkle suggests that appropriate
therapy animals can be obtained from organizations that train professional assistance
animals. Although therapy animals require different skills than assistance animals
are trained for, much of the intermediate training and skills are the same (Winkle,
2012, p. 11). Ensuring proper animal care during therapy is another cause for
concern. If the therapy professional owns the animal, then they have a familiarity
with the care routine and responsibilities necessary to provide for the animal.
However, therapist work days can be much longer than a typical 8 hour day, as
patients may need to schedule appointments before or after work or school, and
therapists working in hospitals may have longer than average shifts as is not
uncommon in a hospital setting. Relatedly, for therapy
Nutrition For Health And Development
Parents become more stressed
Circle of anxiety compounding feeding difficulties. (Hall and Elliman 2003)
It is well recognized that household food insecurity is one of the three underlying
causes of malnutrition. At the international conference of nutrition (ICN) held in
Rome in 1992, food security was defined in its most basic form as physical, social
and economic access by all people at all times to sufficient, safe and nutritious food
which meets their dietary needs and food preference for an active and healthy life.
Thus, food insecurity exists when people lack access to sufficient amount of safe and
nutritious food, therefore not consuming the food required for normal growth and
development, for an active and healthy life. This may be due to the unavailability of
food insufficient purchasing power, inappropriate distribution, or inadequate
utilization at household level. Food insecurity, poor conditions of health and
sanitation and inappropriate social and care environment are the major causes of poor
nutritional status. (WHO 1995) department of Nutrition for health and Development

2.2.5HUMAN GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT.
Growth may be defined as an increase in body size. Biologic growth of an organism
occurs through cell multiplication and cell enlargement.
Development is the associated process by which growing tissues and organs take on a
more complex function. Through these changes a small dependent new born is

Santa Ana Zoo Field Trip
The self guided field trip that I conducted was to the Santa Ana Zoo. I went to the
Santa Ana Zoo on April 7th, 2017. What I learned while being at the zoo was how
animals interacted with each other and their environment. A couple of the animals
were able to live in the same environment because they don t eat or harm one
another. An observation I made was that they grouped different animals in a huge
cage like lemurs, a couple of birds, and a porcupine in which they lived very
peacefully minding their own business. I also learned about different species like
insects that I have never heard of and different kinds of monkeys/ lemurs. Just to add
on, visiting the Santa Ana Zooallowed me to see a real life anteater, in which I have
never seen before, but I did know that they existed. One of the animalsthat I found the
most interesting was a Gibbon. A Gibbon is an ape that I have never seen... Show

By being at the zoo I got to observe the animals that are currently living on the earth
and how they have evolved from different animals before them. At the zoo, they
had charts of what animals are related to each other like a house cat to a wild tiger
and many other species. The evolution of these animals can be connected to Social
Darwinism in Unit one subtopics. In the zoo, the animals are sheltered there not
solely on the case of survival of the fittest , but because humans are destroying their
homes or they are being hunted down. Some of the animals at the zoo can be there
because global warming has caused their environment to be in a drought and the
plants they eat and their shelter isn t able to survive in the new conditions. Some of
the animals at the zoo are becoming extinct and the zoo may be one of the only
places where they can preserve these creators for a longer
The Theory Of God s The Same Meditation
His argument that God exists are mainly focused explicitly on Mediation three and
five. In Mediation three, he says: I must inquire whether there is a God [for if there
is}, I must examine likewise whether he can be a deceiver... He points out that God
may be a deceiver, but has no foundational basis to prove that. But when he
introduced the evil genius superior earlier in his Meditation one, he said that figure
may also be tricking him into thinking Godexists, and thus deceiving him. The evil
genius does not want to be known, so it tricks Descartes and everybody into thinking
that a subject with the name of God may be the true creator. He did not prove
otherwise throughout his Meditations. The questions of whether or not God exists
has not been proven with profound proof. He many have been deceived all
throughout his Mediations. In the same Meditation, Descartes raises the idea of the
existenceof humanbeings. Their existence derived from a infinite substance, which
is God. God is the only source for which humans exist, and would not without Him.
This is a metaphysical idea that he believes, but others may not. In other disciplines,
such as natural science, may say otherwise in regards to the source of existence.
Human evolutionary disciplines have actual data from early times, further rendering
and coming closer to the actual truth to where humans actually came from. God as a
source is merely always an idea, and never an actual data. Also, from the previous

South Carolina And The United States
According to Post and Courier , South Carolina has 3 of the top 20 fastest growing
cities in the country. The state has seen a constant influx of new residents that is not
predicted to slow in the next 10 years. Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Hilton head
have added over 150,000 new residents in since 2010 collectively, with over half
being in Charleston. South Carolinarepresents one of our primary markets and an
established base of operations for our company.
In the Atlanta market, growth is expected to be even more advantageous with over
400,000 healthcare service jobs added by 2040 . The Metro Atlanta area is
projected to grow by 3% and add over 2.5 million residents in this same time span.
With the presence of Medical and Research Universities, several of the nation s
leading private practitioners, and a vast EMS/Police and Fire network, the influx of
professionals promises a constant stream of working adults in need of initial and
recurring certifications, both of which we offer.
With the growing regional population, Federal, State and Local governments will be
hard pressed to expand infrastructure and services. For our operations in Georgia and
South Carolina, this expansion presents an amazing opportunity in the government

develop roads, schools and utility infrastructure. These efforts will require
monumental support and services from the private sector. This is where OFS
The Relationship of Dispersion Forces and Hydrogen
Bonding...
The objective of this experiment was to investigate the relationship of dispersion
forces and hydrogen bonding forces in intermolecular attractions through the
evaporation of different substances. Using temperature probes, the endothermic
process of evaporation is measured by inserting the probes into the substance and then
taking them out to allow the substance to evaporate, the change in temperature of the
substances showed if a lot or not a lot of evaporationoccurred and over how long the
evaporation took place depending on if the change in temperature was high or low.
Figure 1 compared the change in temperature in Celsius during evaporation for
ethanol and 1 propanol over a time period in seconds. Due to its higher molecular
mass,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, hexane has only dispersion forces which would mean it would
have had a higher change in temperature, but it has a molecular weight of 86.18 g
/mol which would make it harder to break its bonds during evaporation which
would explain why the change in temperature isn t as high as expected. Firgure 4
illustrated the evaporation rates of acetone and water. Here a huge difference in
evaporation rates can be seen. Despite its low molecular mass, the very strong
hydrogen bonds in water made it much harder to evaporate compared to the
dispersions forces in acetone which are weak. Which means, as figure 4 shows,
water had a much lower change in temperature than acetone, meaning the water did
not evaporate as quickly as the acetone because the hydrogen bonds of water kept
it from doing so at the rate of acetone. Figure 5 shows the comparison of the four
alcohols used in the experiment according to their change in temperature during
evaporation and their respective molecular weights. For all of the alcohols the
pattern of low molecular weight and high temperature changes could be seen, this is
because it is easier to break the bonds of a substance thus evaporating it if it has a
low molecular weight and not a high one. The alkanes pentane and hexane both had
dispersion forces, which are weak intermolecular forces and explains why they
Analysis Of You Are What You Eat By Mark Menjivar
The fridge is a personal and private space that can reveal a glimpse of one s
lifestyle. A person s eating habits can show what kind of person they are and why it
maybe they are eating this way. That is what Mark Menjivar aimed to prove as he
took photographs of what he saw in different people s fridges and collected them
for his series You Are What You Eat . Menjivar traveled to 20 communities
throughout the nation, and took pictures inside what was in a total 60 people s
fridges. He was trying to explore the tie between eating habits and identity. At first I
wasn t quite sure how a photograph could tell about one s character, due to the fact
that a picture can say many things and can be quite ambiguous. That was until I

My favorite one is the photograph of the bartender s fridge. His fridge alone
allowed me to envision so many different circumstances. His fridge carried so
much character. In both photographs the fridge is completely cluttered and
unorganized. The fridge from 2008, was filled with boxes of take out. There isn t
any evidence of him cooking anything for himself. This allowed me to come to the
conclusion that it s due to him being a male bachelor, who probably doesn t know
how to cook. There s also the possibility that it s due to him not having enough time
to cook for himself. Most of that food in the Styrofoam boxes are probably bar food
that he took home, because it was convenient for him. In the article, Menjivar
mentioned how taking the photograph was so unbearable due to the stench coming
from the fridge. It s pretty clear the fridge would smell, without him stating it. The
fridge looked absolutely atrocious. The second photograph in 2012, was still a
cluttered mess, but there were no take out Styrofoam boxes. The fast food had
been replaced with some healthier options like humus, tuna, yogurt, some greens,
and plenty of drinks. For a bartender, I expected a lot more liquor in to be in both
fridges. I was kind of shocked to see there were more in 2012, and barely any in the
photo in 2008. It s evident that his bad eating habits had changed, even Menjivar
mentions this. He also says that the bartender had significantly lost weight. Not only
did his fridge look different, the bartender had changed as well due to his new eating
Senate Filibustering System
Members of Congress are charged with three primary duties writing laws, overseeing
the implementation of laws, and serving the needs of their constituents. Senate
Filibuster, House Rules Committee and the Conference Committee all have had a
profound effect in the lawmaking process. Additionally, general accounting office and
hearings are both methods that Congress employs in order to maintain oversight over
the federal bureaucracy. Lastly, Casework drastically affects members attention to
legislation because it diverts their time, and resources away from focusing on
legislation. The Senate Filibuster was initially created as a way to ensure that
minority opinions were heard and understood before the Senate voted on an issue.

consider ideas for how to solve our country s big problems. For years now, small
numbers of senators representing as little as 11% of the country have kept the

personal political agendas above the work of government with no consequence. As

Major pieces of legislation, including a bill that would have provided medical care

America s New Sense Of World Power

After the years of the American Civil War, America embarked on a manifest destiny,
2.0. America decided they wanted to expand their territory across the waters. There
were many approaches that were suggested by previous presidents, all with the same
goal: World Dominance.
The Big Stick idea was brought to light from President Theodore Roosevelt. The plan
reflected many of the same impulses that were motivating domestic reforms that
were taking place in America. He wanted to expand that reform to Cuba. He
wanted to send a message that reflected to nations America s new sense of world
power. With this policy Presidents could exercise power unfettered and alone if he
was overseas in an american territory. Roosevelt believed that a civilized (industrial)
nation was to go in to uncivilized (non industrial) countries and have the right as
well as the duty to intervene in the affairs of a backward nation to preserve order
and stability, for the sake of both nations he said.
Venezuela, for example, had a deteriorating economy that began to renege on debts of
european bankers. In response, the Roosevelt Corollary (now the Monroe Doctrine),
was put into play. the Roosevelt Corollary claimed the united States had not only the
right to European intervention in the Western hemisphere but also to intervene itself
in the domestic affairs of its neighbors if those neighbors proved unable to maintain
order and national sovereignty on their own, such

Why Blog And My Blog
Why Blog?
Blogging. It s risen in popularity in the past several years. Anyone can start their
own blog. They are widely accessible and very personal. Recently, I began blogging
inspired by a senior colleague whose words leapt from the page with wisdom and
insight. I wanted to share my voice and my thoughts and even my life online as well.
So I did, and with that came a multitude of positive chain reactions.
I began to see the narrative of my life, what kinds of things I wrote about and what I
wasn t inclined to write about and share online. My blog consists of a series of
personal essays, mostly unedited, and focusing on the intersection between life
events and my living faith. My blog became the place where an introvert wasn t
scared to share her deepest or most lighthearted tidbits of information, observations
and inner dialogue. My blog helped me to see that I was a person who was
constantly evolving, changing, and growing. It helped me to divulge the thoughts
that often did not fit in casual conversation. Through the entries that I kept, my
journey was shared with the whole world, and anyone who wanted to read it could
freely do so at their leisure.
Blogging is transition. My experience of transitioning to blogging from journaling
by hand came as a big step. I was encouraged by this senior colleague who had some
great insights on her blog that she was able to share through social media sites. I
found that blogging let me think critically about what I was posting and
Key Factors Affecting The Foreclosure Crisis
Beginning in the late 1990 s and accelerating into the early and mid 2000 s, mortgage
lending became easier. And it became easier for everyone involved: the borrower, the
lender, the guarantor and the investor. The rise of the risk free, no down payment,
low documentation loan was not only born, but metastasized beyond imagination.
Traditionally, the biggest hurdle to home ownership was the down payment. Ever
since banks began lending, from the secondary market innovations of the depression
era 1930 s and through the 1990 s, a down payment was always required. You could
not buy a home unless you were willing to first put up some of your own money.
Three factors changed this equation, and when combined this change proved
unstoppable: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Investors felt protected because of the credit default swap. The real estate market
boomed beyond anything anyone had ever seen. And it fed itself; the more the
market boomed, the more people wanted to buy homes and the more investors were
willing to lend.
A case in point: to remain relevant, FHA altered its own rules. FHA loans have
always required a down payment and prohibited the seller from making that down
payment on behalf of the buyer. But FHA altered their own rule by allowing the
seller to make a contribution to a third party non profit agency, who would then
provide the down payment on behalf of the buyer. And of course, the non profit
would keep a small portion of the seller s contribution for its work as acting as the
middleman in the down payment transaction.
When the real estate market became saturated and values began to plateau, there was
a rush to the exit. The consumers buying homes turned out to be speculators who
could not afford to make the payments, and they quickly defaulted. As the defaults
began, they multiplied exponentially. As the defaults multiplied, the credit default
swaps began to kick in. As the credit default swaps began to pay out, the insurers
behind these swaps began to go suffer. They began to pay out far more than they had
ever expected, and far more than they had ever earned. As the investors began to
incur losses, they began to sell their
Consumer s Decision Dilemma And Brand Loyalty
ABSTRACT
Consumer s decision dilemma and brand loyalty in a low involvement product
category by
Abhishek Rahul
Consumer s dilemma, caused by product similarity, choice and/or information
overload, and the presence of ambiguous information, can negatively affect
consumers decision making and thereby also companies profitability. The purpose of
this quantitative study was to
Investigate how the three variables (i.e. similarity, overload, Uncertainty) affect
consumer s decision postponement and brand loyalty, concerning low involvement
products. A conceptual framework based on consumer behavior and consumer
confusion literature, was utilized to form six hypotheses predicting the causality
between the different variables. After validating and adapting the space to data
gathered through a survey, regarding Indian Population purchasing habits of Biscuits,
2 standard multiple regressions revealed that one hypothesis was supported; overload
confusion proneness decreases brand loyalty in a low involvement product category.
All implications were then discussed from Practitioners and researchers points of
view, concluding with possible limitations and further research.

The Ecologist s Guide On Habitat Loss
The Ecologist s Guide to Habitat Loss Over the course of the past few centuries, the
Earth as a whole has felt anthropogenic effects due to increased human presence and
impacts such as habitat loss. Habitat loss is the process of damage and eventual
destruction in some cases of ecosystems on a local and global scale which result in
them not being able to systematically support the species present due to displacement
or destruction which successively reduces biodiversityof endemic species. Habitat
loss and fragmentation have been known to be the greatest threats to biodiversity
worldwide. The cause and effect of human impacts on tropical rainforests has led to
extinction of local organisms on a grand scale which has resulted in what is... Show

The causes of habitat loss/destruction will be explored in regards to deforestation and
conversion of land to agriculture while simultaneously elucidating on the effects
which range from biotic interaction, reduced biodiversity, changes in habitat use, and
the loss of ecosystem services.
Biotic Interactions in Fragmented Habitats Deforestation is the permanent
destruction or fragmentation of forests in order to make the land available for other
uses which has caused disruption in habitats within tropical rainforests. It has led to
fragmentation of habitats which influence birth and death related processes (Harrison
and Bruna 1999). Habitat deterioration also imposes novel selection stresses on
organisms, enlarging local extinction rates. Reduced movement among remnant
patches for mammals lowers colonization rates, which further negatively affects
demographic and genetic population parameters. Many studies have already shown
that fragmentation in tropical rainforests presents grave problems for large trees, but
not much data has been collected for early plant life stages.
These stages are explored in a study done in Central Amazonia in which
fragmentation has had an adverse effect on seedlings. It was found that the life form
composition and structure of plant pool fragments have been shifting toward a
species poor seedling community (Benitez Malvido and Martinez Ramos 2003). This
has resulted from the loss of understory species diversity with high regard to
Unix Based Operating Systems System
UNIX based operating systems are very popular, and they are being used
everywhere from computer science research labs and universities to technology
firms like Google, Facebook, and IBM. There are many different types UNIX based
operating systems, some of them being Mac OS, Ubuntu (Figure 1) and Solaris.
When it comes to programming, many computer scientists, including myself, prefer
UNIX based operating systems over Windows operating system, because it is the
main operating system for many technology companies (2) and easy to use. Linux, a

Windows operating system is different from Mac OS or Ubuntu or any other
operating system, and it takes a considerable amount of time for an individual to
get used to a different operating system. According to stackoverflow [3], an online
community for programmers, 26% of programmers use Mac OS as their operating
system, and 21.7% use Linux as their operating system. Companies want to hire
computer scientists familiar with the technology stack of the company, and having
experience in the company s operating system is a very valuable skill. Also, using a
UNIX based operating system build a certain set of skill sets, such as experience in
using a UNIX terminal, that companies consider a must have skill for computer
scientists. By having Windows as the operating system for computer science labs,
NCUS is not providing the opportunity for students to experience using a different
operating system, that might be operating system they use after graduation.
Unfamiliarly with the work computer s operating system, not knowing how to
perform simple tasks fast enough could have a significant effect on the programmer s
work and the overall productivity of the company. Therefore, addressing this issue
will make the transition between university and working at a technology firm
smoother, and help students build a skill set that will be useful in the future.

Extending My Knowledge of Headaches and Migraines
Background
There was a point where my little brother had reoccurring migraines almost every
day. When he went to the doctor s office, the doctor stated that he needed to get more
rest, reduce the lighting, and minimize stress factors. With this in mind, I wanted to
extend my knowledge of this type of headache disorder. Migraine is the most common
headache disorder and has a cumulative lifetime migraine incidence of 43% in women
and 18% in men (Ekman, 2013). A migraine headache is usually a throbbing,
unilateral pain and can worsen with exertion ( Migraine: Headache: Merck Manual
Professional , n.d.).
Epidemiology
Migraine has a one year prevalence and common in 18% of women and 6% of men
in the United States. It primarily begins during adolescence or young adulthood and

The Good Ol Hotpot Essay
The Good Ol HotpotSimmering in the hot tub known as my bed, I was struggling

Coming back to San Jose we decided to eat, like always, the good ol

  • 7. African Imperialism DBQ European powers shamelessly exploited the people and resources of Africa in the 19th century. They often tried to justify their actions by using ideology, religion and moralism. After the end of the African slave trade, the development of steam power, and medical discovery, European nations started exploring not only the coast but also the unmapped interior of the continent. In this essay, I will explain the main driving forces behind African Imperialism. The Western europeans countries all competed for land and resources because of their self interest. They sought natural resources, and technology gave them the ability to exploit them. The philosophy of national pride however, was the primary reason. (Main document) (Doc C, D B) The technical advances in the early and middle part of the 19th century enabled Western European powers to exploit imperial objectives in Africa. Among these advances were the steam engine, extraction of quinine, invention of the telegraph, steal processing and improved weaponry. The steam engine was important in increasing the speed and reliability of transportation. Extracting quinine from the bark of the cinchona tree helped treat malaria; a mosquito borne disease that killed thousands; it was now possible to survive in the interior of Africa. • 8. Analysis Of Misinterpreted By Rousseau . Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains. This is perhaps one of the most famous concepts presented by Rousseau and it can be found in Book One of the Social Contract in Classics of Moral and Political Theory. When I first read this quote, I misinterpreted it. I suspect that this was the case for most people. I first thought that this quote had a bit of a carpe diem vibe. I thought the meaning was something along the lines of making sure we live in the moment and to go experience the world. The better translation is more along the lines of human nature is currently in conflict with itself. Human nature tends to include the need for freedom, and Rousseau claims that we are working against ourselves as whole to achieve this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a good example to help discern the difference between a natural authority relationship and an unnatural authority relationship. A man, Grotius, denies that all human power is established for the benefit of the governed, citing slavery as an example. He says that the relationship between a ruler and his subjects resembles the relationship between a father and his child because the ruler cares for his subjects. Grotius is assuming natural superiority of rulers over the people they rule. Rousseau disagrees with this argument. Rousseau states that the superiority that a ruler boasts over his subjects is driven by force, not by nature. Rousseau is basically saying that the ruler has unlimited rights over his subject merely because he forces them to be obedient. Therefore, such political authority has no place in nature. In conclusion, Rousseau argues that there is only one instance where natural authority occurs in society. This instance is the relationship between a father and child. This relationship, however, is not an everlasting one. Rousseau states that the only reason the relationship between father and child is natural is because of the dependence the child has on the father. The child is in need of the father in order to survive. Once that need is no longer there and the child is no longer reliant on the father, the natural authority relationship no longer

I never thought I would personally make it this far, but here I am.Today I would like to talk to you guys about the value of life. I am going to address my personal point of view on the valueof life, and how I feel about it. I know some of you might have never thought about how valuable your life is. Hopefully, by the end of my speech you will have a new perspective on life. Let s begin. Before I begin I would like to tell you guys what I think about life. Personally, I value life as something special, that should never be taken for granted. I strongly feel that life is special and even if you are wealthy or poor it does not matter because in the end you are still living. I feel that today in American society a lot of us do not value life as much as we should. This is due to the fact that we are so privileged that ist is hard to realize how valuable our life is. However, in poorer countries the people view life as something sacred and understand life s true values, and know how special it is. I would like to state that you cannot put a price tag on someone s life. But people begin to think what is a life worth? If you research online you will find that there are Human Life Value Calculator and personally I think these are inaccurate and inhumane. Essentially, what this calculator does is it takes your income, taxes, savings,

Free shots, also known as free throws, are given to a player after being fouled. What do shooters focus on to score the given shots? They rely on what they can see. What if the net was removed? Would the player s free throwaccuracy increase or decrease? Visual targets, can have a tremendous effect on one s shot. According to McCann, A. (2012), basketballplayers looking to make a shot would focus on the net or even the hooks that hold the net to the rim. The human body is a servant to touch, taste, smell, hearing, and sight. Reactions to the five senses cause chain reactions that generate a person s brain to release chemicals that produce responses. Sight enables a shooter to be aware of his or her distance to the basket. The sense of touch allows a shooter to realize the proximity of the basketball to his or her body. In the sport of basketball, when someone thinks of a perfect shot, it is normally a three point shot that hits nothing but net. What if there was no net on the rim? There would be no satisfaction of hearing the swish of the net after successfully knocking down the field goal attempt. Through Good People , David Lindsay Abaire argues that rich people and poor people has a different life styles. This can be seen through his use of imagery, characterization and conflict. In this play, David Lindsay Abaire uses imagery to shows what type of life style that Southie and Chestnut Hill has. Firstly, Southie has many poor people and broken things around them. For example, Abaire shows how Southie s environment looks by the narration of the play, The alley behind the Dollar store. There s a dumpster back there and a rusty chair and a door labelled Dollar store (5). Another way, Chestnut Hill has many rich people and many expensive things. For example, Abaire narrates about Mikes house in details, Lights up on a beautiful home. The living room takes up most of the space. Up and left we may see part of a foyer that leads to the front door. Doorways and corridors lead off to other parts of the house the kitchen, the dining room, maybe we see a staircase that leads up to the bedroom (105). Occupational therapy modalities are already effective at treating patients with many different disabilities and/or disorders integrating a new type of therapyinto occupational therapy is less convenient and more expensive than leaving an already effective therapy as is. Another concern for the use of animals in occupational therapy is how the therapist will obtain therapy animals (Cipriani et al., 2013, p. 215). If no suitable animals are immediately available from other sources, the cost of the therapist obtaining, training, and certifying their own therapy animal is not insignificant. However, if an animal is available from another source, whether it be a volunteer or an organization, proper investigation must be done to determine the reliability and legitimacy of the provider and of the therapy animal. Winkle suggests that appropriate therapy animals can be obtained from organizations that train professional assistance animals. Although therapy animals require different skills than assistance animals are trained for, much of the intermediate training and skills are the same (Winkle, 2012, p. 11). Ensuring proper animal care during therapy is another cause for concern. If the therapy professional owns the animal, then they have a familiarity with the care routine and responsibilities necessary to provide for the animal. However, therapist work days can be much longer than a typical 8 hour day, as patients may need to schedule appointments before or after work or school, and therapists working in hospitals may have longer than average shifts as is not uncommon in a hospital setting. Relatedly, for therapy
  • 26. Nutrition For Health And Development Parents become more stressed Circle of anxiety compounding feeding difficulties. (Hall and Elliman 2003) It is well recognized that household food insecurity is one of the three underlying causes of malnutrition. At the international conference of nutrition (ICN) held in Rome in 1992, food security was defined in its most basic form as physical, social and economic access by all people at all times to sufficient, safe and nutritious food which meets their dietary needs and food preference for an active and healthy life. Thus, food insecurity exists when people lack access to sufficient amount of safe and nutritious food, therefore not consuming the food required for normal growth and development, for an active and healthy life. This may be due to the unavailability of food insufficient purchasing power, inappropriate distribution, or inadequate utilization at household level. Food insecurity, poor conditions of health and sanitation and inappropriate social and care environment are the major causes of poor nutritional status. (WHO 1995) department of Nutrition for health and Development (NHD). 2.2.5HUMAN GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. Growth may be defined as an increase in body size. Biologic growth of an organism occurs through cell multiplication and cell enlargement. Development is the associated process by which growing tissues and organs take on a more complex function. What I learned while being at the zoo was how animals interacted with each other and their environment. A couple of the animals were able to live in the same environment because they don t eat or harm one another. An observation I made was that they grouped different animals in a huge cage like lemurs, a couple of birds, and a porcupine in which they lived very peacefully minding their own business. I also learned about different species like insects that I have never heard of and different kinds of monkeys/ lemurs. Just to add on, visiting the Santa Ana Zooallowed me to see a real life anteater, in which I have never seen before, but I did know that they existed. The evolution of these animals can be connected to Social Darwinism in Unit one subtopics. In the zoo, the animals are sheltered there not solely on the case of survival of the fittest , but because humans are destroying their homes or they are being hunted down. Some of the animals at the zoo can be there because global warming has caused their environment to be in a drought and the plants they eat and their shelter isn t able to survive in the new conditions. • 28. The Theory Of God s The Same Meditation His argument that God exists are mainly focused explicitly on Mediation three and five. In Mediation three, he says: I must inquire whether there is a God [for if there is}, I must examine likewise whether he can be a deceiver... He points out that God may be a deceiver, but has no foundational basis to prove that. But when he introduced the evil genius superior earlier in his Meditation one, he said that figure may also be tricking him into thinking Godexists, and thus deceiving him. The evil genius does not want to be known, so it tricks Descartes and everybody into thinking that a subject with the name of God may be the true creator. He did not prove otherwise throughout his Meditations. The questions of whether or not God exists has not been proven with profound proof. He many have been deceived all throughout his Mediations. In the same Meditation, Descartes raises the idea of the existenceof humanbeings. Their existence derived from a infinite substance, which is God. God is the only source for which humans exist, and would not without Him. This is a metaphysical idea that he believes, but others may not. In other disciplines, such as natural science, may say otherwise in regards to the source of existence. Human evolutionary disciplines have actual data from early times, further rendering and coming closer to the actual truth to where humans actually came from. The objective of this experiment was to investigate the relationship of dispersion forces and hydrogen bonding forces in intermolecular attractions through the evaporation of different substances. Using temperature probes, the endothermic process of evaporation is measured by inserting the probes into the substance and then taking them out to allow the substance to evaporate, the change in temperature of the substances showed if a lot or not a lot of evaporationoccurred and over how long the evaporation took place depending on if the change in temperature was high or low. Figure 1 compared the change in temperature in Celsius during evaporation for ethanol and 1 propanol over a time period in seconds. Due to its higher molecular mass,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, hexane has only dispersion forces which would mean it would have had a higher change in temperature, but it has a molecular weight of 86.18 g /mol which would make it harder to break its bonds during evaporation which would explain why the change in temperature isn t as high as expected. Firgure 4 illustrated the evaporation rates of acetone and water. Here a huge difference in evaporation rates can be seen. Despite its low molecular mass, the very strong hydrogen bonds in water made it much harder to evaporate compared to the dispersions forces in acetone which are weak. Which means, as figure 4 shows, water had a much lower change in temperature than acetone, meaning the water did not evaporate as quickly as the acetone because the hydrogen bonds of water kept it from doing so at the rate of acetone. Figure 5 shows the comparison of the four alcohols used in the experiment according to their change in temperature during evaporation and their respective molecular weights. For all of the alcohols the pattern of low molecular weight and high temperature changes could be seen, this is because it is easier to break the bonds of a substance thus evaporating it if it has a low molecular weight and not a high one. The alkanes pentane and hexane both had dispersion forces, which are weak intermolecular forces and explains why they

There s also the possibility that it s due to him not having enough time to cook for himself. Most of that food in the Styrofoam boxes are probably bar food that he took home, because it was convenient for him. America decided they wanted to expand their territory across the waters. There were many approaches that were suggested by previous presidents, all with the same goal: World Dominance. The Big Stick idea was brought to light from President Theodore Roosevelt. The plan reflected many of the same impulses that were motivating domestic reforms that were taking place in America. He wanted to expand that reform to Cuba. He wanted to send a message that reflected to nations America s new sense of world power. With this policy Presidents could exercise power unfettered and alone if he was overseas in an american territory. Roosevelt believed that a civilized (industrial) nation was to go in to uncivilized (non industrial) countries and have the right as well as the duty to intervene in the affairs of a backward nation to preserve order and stability, for the sake of both nations he said. Venezuela, for example, had a deteriorating economy that began to renege on debts of european bankers. In response, the Roosevelt Corollary (now the Monroe Doctrine), was put into play. the Roosevelt Corollary claimed the united States had not only the right to European intervention in the Western hemisphere but also to intervene itself in the domestic affairs of its neighbors if those neighbors proved unable to maintain order and national sovereignty on their own, such

And it became easier for everyone involved: the borrower, the lender, the guarantor and the investor. The rise of the risk free, no down payment, low documentation loan was not only born, but metastasized beyond imagination. Traditionally, the biggest hurdle to home ownership was the down payment. Ever since banks began lending, from the secondary market innovations of the depression era 1930 s and through the 1990 s, a down payment was always required. You could not buy a home unless you were willing to first put up some of your own money. Three factors changed this equation, and when combined this change proved unstoppable: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Investors felt protected because of the credit default swap. The real estate market boomed beyond anything anyone had ever seen. And it fed itself; the more the market boomed, the more people wanted to buy homes and the more investors were willing to lend. A case in point: to remain relevant, FHA altered its own rules. FHA loans have always required a down payment and prohibited the seller from making that down payment on behalf of the buyer. But FHA altered their own rule by allowing the seller to make a contribution to a third party non profit agency, who would then provide the down payment on behalf of the buyer. And of course, the non profit would keep a small portion of the seller s contribution for its work as acting as the middleman in the down payment transaction. When the real estate market became saturated and values began to plateau, there was a rush to the exit. The consumers buying homes turned out to be speculators who could not afford to make the payments, and they quickly defaulted. As the defaults began, they multiplied exponentially. As the defaults multiplied, the credit default swaps began to kick in. As the credit default swaps began to pay out, the insurers behind these swaps began to go suffer. They began to pay out far more than they had ever expected, and far more than they had ever earned. As the investors began to incur losses, they began to sell their

Biotic Interactions in Fragmented Habitats Deforestation is the permanent destruction or fragmentation of forests in order to make the land available for other uses which has caused disruption in habitats within tropical rainforests. It has led to fragmentation of habitats which influence birth and death related processes (Harrison and Bruna 1999). Habitat deterioration also imposes novel selection stresses on organisms, enlarging local extinction rates. Reduced movement among remnant patches for mammals lowers colonization rates, which further negatively affects demographic and genetic population parameters. Many studies have already shown that fragmentation in tropical rainforests presents grave problems for large trees, but not much data has been collected for early plant life stages. These stages are explored in a study done in Central Amazonia in which fragmentation has had an adverse effect on seedlings. It was found that the life form composition and structure of plant pool fragments have been shifting toward a species poor seedling community (Benitez Malvido and Martinez Ramos 2003). This has resulted from the loss of understory species diversity with high regard to

With this in mind, I wanted to extend my knowledge of this type of headache disorder. Migraine is the most common headache disorder and has a cumulative lifetime migraine incidence of 43% in women and 18% in men (Ekman, 2013). A migraine headache is usually a throbbing, unilateral pain and can worsen with exertion ( Migraine: Headache: Merck Manual Professional , n.d.). Epidemiology Migraine has a one year prevalence and common in 18% of women and 6% of men in the United States. It primarily begins during adolescence or young adulthood and often decreases after age 50 ( Migraine: Headache: Merck Manual Professional , n.d.). Pathophysiology Migraine is a form of neurovascular pain syndrome with alters central neuronal processing by activating the brain stem nuclei, cortical hyper excitability, and spreading cortical depression ( Migraine: Headache: Merck Manual Professional , n.d.). Migraine also affects the trigeminovascular system, which triggers neuropeptide release and causes painful inflammation in cranial vessels and the dura mater ( Migraine: Headache: Merck Manual Professional , n.d.). Migraine attacks are not caused by a primary vasvular event, but episodic and varies among different patients (Goadsby, Lipton, Ferrari, 2002).
