Comparison Of The Structure Of Coca Cola And Pepsi
The main purpose of this study is to find out what is the structure of two soft drinks industries.
These two firms are doing the same business. Soft drinks are generally known as refreshers
because people feel the needs for refreshing drinks in order to quench their thirst. People consume
soft drinks like Coca colaand Pepsi cola not only to quench the thirst but because of the taste and the
availability.
The two firms can use several strategies to increase their performance in the oligopoly market
structure. They can make an effort to create a stronger loyalty scheme to maintain a loyal customer
base. Both companies have experimented with loyalty programs in the past, but there is much more
for improvements in the area such as for example ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It will always win in the blind taste test or the Pepsi challenge. Coca cola uses genuine and
relatable image in their advertisements where as Pepsi has always been dependent on the gets you
the girl or GYM fridge drink themes but since the products are similar, it basically comes down to
availability for general audience. Only highly loyal customers stick to their chosen brand. Coca cola
and Pepsi are both excellent of sustained superior performance through strong investments in the
marketing function, especially through advertising and distribution, which are durable assets. Both
will keep innovate and develop their products as well as taste and preferences of the customers and
their expenditure on advertising will be huge and both have the ability for risk taking, both will take
rapid action with respect to the changing market conditions and finding new opportunities for new
market. Finally, both brands launched continuously challenging advertisements so the profit will
always stay high and competitive between these two companies.
Though Coca cola has won the war over PepsiCo. Still some strategies could be taken to enhance
the company forward and allow it to sustain its privileged status. To start, it could pay more
attention to their numbers by offering further reduction on wholesale prices as well as offer more
free products. On the other hand, Coca cola could expand with other additional products. As trade

Mint And Chocolate Experiment Research
Introduction Test and quizzes happen every day in children s lives. It a natural event that happens
in every school. Some kids who take test have anxiety and stress when taking a test. This could
lead to stress and fear of doing test. Some teachers before a test gives out chocolate or mint to help
them with self confidence and concentration. For students, eating the chocolate usually help them
calm down. It probably helps them feel less stressed. Though that leads us to another question. If
chocolate and mint help relieve stress from students, does chocolate or mint also help children
increase their test score? This is a study to examine if chocolate or mint actually helps kids who are
taking a test or quiz. Method Subjects: The subjects... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We will have about one hundred and fifty kids in total. Seventy five of them will go in one
group while the other seventy five goes in another room. In the experiment group, we will give
them both chocolate and mint. To get rid of the cofounding variable known as cheating we
spread out the kids in the large testing room. We will also be having phones off in this test so
the kids won t be able to use it during the test, which gets rid of another confounding variable.
Another confounding variable we have to get rid of is distractions. Anything that distracts the
children could hinder the test, so the room has to be silent at all times. We will give out the same
test, independent variable, to all of the kids in the experiment. We will see how the effects of the
chocolate and mint, dependent variable, affect the kids that are taking the test. We will give them
about forty five minutes to complete the test. If they do not finish in time, we will grade the
questions that have been answered. We will then record all the results of the test and write them
down on paper and compare it with the test scores of the control group. Once we compare these
two results we will get an answer to the

How Plants Grow Research Paper
Plants have many roles to play. Plants make food and oxygen, they provide shelter for animals,
and they make and preserve soil, and provide useful products for humans. Plants are the only
organism that is able to convert light energy from the sun into food. This process is called
photosynthesis. The food that we eat is produced by plants. Humans need oxygento live. This
oxygen comes from plants. Oxygen is produced when plants make food. Animals often use plants
for their shelter and their food source. Plants roots help hold the soil together and also help make
soil. Plants help humans more than just the oxygen they produce. They also produce food, fibers,
medicines, and energy. Animals and humans depend greatly on the roles of plants. (1)... Show more

First off, the temperature needs to be right. If it is too high or too low it will result in abdominal
development. Flowers and vegetables that grow in different seasons, require a different
temperature. Warm season vegetables and flowers grow best in 60o F, 75o F, and 80o F. Cool
season vegetables and flowers grow best in 50o F and 70o F. Plants require large amounts of
sunlight to grow. Indoor light often does not provide enough intensity. During the hot summer
months, plants need at least one half gallon of water each day. If plants do not receive enough
water each day, their roots will dry out and they will die. Just like humans, plants also need oxygen
to survive. They use oxygen for respiration to carry out their functions. Plants absorb minerals
through their roots. They need these minerals to survive. Some of the specific minerals they need is
soil, fertilizer, manure, compost, fertilizer salts. Finally, plants need support. Their basic support is
soil that surrounds their roots. They also have hydroponically supports that include, strings or stakes.

Abstract
This paper evaluates and considers two important buildings from Ancient Greece and Ancient
Rome, the Greek Parthenon and the Roman Pantheon. Style, function and reflection on how these
buildings represent the cultures that created them. A comparison between the two buildings is
included.
Style and function of the Greek Parthenon and Roman Pantheon
The Greek Parthenon while not the largest of the Greek buildings does stand out, and emphasises
the Greek style and culture in many ways. Constructed between 447 and 432 BCE the building still

Walt Disney s Theme Park
July 17, 1955, marked the grand opening of Walt Disney s first major theme park opening. Since
1955, Walt Disney s idea of a theme park has adapted to more than just a carnival.
Currently there are six Disney theme parks worldwide. The United States holds two theme parks,
Disneyland Park in California and Walt DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida. China also holds two
theme parks, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Disneyland Shanghai. While, Japan and Paris only hold
one theme park, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. Each new Disney park strives to be
unique, create fun attractions and serve cuisine that appeal to the citizens of its location but remain
consistently classic.
Disneyland Anaheim is divided into eight themed lands; Main Street ... Show more content on

Regular tickets are one hundred and seven dollars. Value ticket prices are ninety nine dollars and
peak ticket prices are one hundred and nineteen dollars. Surprisingly, regular ticket prices at Disney
World are cheaper than Disneyland ticket prices by three dollars.
Disneyland Hong Kong has seven themed lands. Similarly to Disneyland Anaheim, Adventureland,
Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Main Street USA are all feature themed lands at Disneyland
Hong Kong. In contrast Grizzly Gulch, Mystic point and Toy Story Land are newly created lands.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Sleeping Beauty s castle are classic attractions. However, Slinky
Dog Spin and RC Racer are new attractions that still remain consistent with the theme of other Walt
Disney parks.
Significantly lower than both Disneyland Anaheim and Disney World, Disneyland Hong Kong has
twenty four restaurants. Another notable difference is the style of cuisine which is primarily
Chinese or Asian.
Also, ticket pricing varies by age. General admission tickets for ages twelve to sixty four are five

eleven tickets are four hundred and nineteen Hong Kong dollars. While ticket prices for senior s
ages sixty five and over are one hundred Hong Kong dollars. It might be worthy to note that senior

Difficult Choices in David Guterson’s Snow Falling on Cedars
Difficult Choices in David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars
It is mid 1950 s in predominantly white populated San Piedro Island. One of its residents has been
murdered and another stands accused of the crime. From the first chapter and through the use of
flashbacks, David Guterson makes us aware of the racism that exists in the small, West Coast
island of San Piedro. The victim, Carl Heine, is of European descent; the accused man, Kabuo
Miyamoto, is of Japanese ancestry. There also is a small community of Japanese residents on San
Piedro Island. David Guterson s novel Snow Falling on Cedars includes themes about love and war,
but none is more central than racism and prejudice as a choice of the heart and mind of the
individual. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Islanders do not have any desire to acquire a better understanding of the Japanese residents and
their culture. This fact is very important when we consider that Kabuo s personality is bringing him
closer to a guilty verdict, not because of guilt, but because of overall ignorance and prejudice.
Guterson exploits racism and prejudice as a choice by presenting the reader with characters that
are influenced by it. The victim had been a friend of the accused during childhood, yet they are
portrayed as prejudiced at some point after the war. We see this during Kabuo s summation of
the events. Carl says I was out at sea, fighting you goddamn Japs sons a to which Kabuo replies, I
killed men who looked just like you pig fed German bastards.... So don t you talk to me about
Japs, you big Nazi son of a bitch (404). They had both been to war and it seems that this event has
torn apart their ability to be fair.
The characterization of Etta Heine is one of extreme hatred. Her character is presented as a flat
individual consumed by racism. This is evident when Etta is called to testify during the
inception of the trial. She tells a story full of hate, resentment and envy. Etta did not approve
selling part of her land to a Japanese and her argument against it illustrates it: We re not such
paupers as to sell to Japs, are we? (120). It is not because she doesn t like the money or because she
cared about the island or for the strawberries that

whether it would be feasible to integrate an ERP system with its company and offsite locations.
There are a few unanswered questions as to if Brandon Group should pursue an ERP and CRM

should most definitely pursue an ERP and a CRM solution for its company. Bandon should first

The Iranian Hostage Crisis Of 1979
The Iranian Hostage Crisis of 1979 was an event that profoundly impacted Western Iranian relations,
to the extent that its residual effects still linger today. Iran s revolution of 1979 resulted in a regime
change that saw U.S. supported Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi toppled by the formerly exiled
Ayotollah Khomeini, who promptly instated a strongly anti Western regime that established itself as
ideologically in direct opposition to many Western values. This anti Western, and particularly anti
American sentiment was common amongst many Iranians due to their resentment of U.S. support
for Shah Pahlavi and his oppressive and unsatisfactory regime. This resentment was markedly
exhibited to the international community with the seizure of the American Embassy in Tehran by
Khomeini supporting Islamist students, who took 66 Americans hostage. Since the Western realm
is held together by shared values and sense of community, amongst other features, and Khomeini s
Iranhad proven itself to be not only an ideological threat to Westerners, but a security one as well
as exemplified by the hostage taking, Canadaswiftly worked bilaterally to defend its realm by
sheltering 6 American diplomats in the home of Canadian Ambssador Ken Taylor, and covertly
aiding the C.I.A. in the hostages extraction . Canada s role in the hostage crisis internationally
reinforced its loyalty to the Western realm, and in particular, its strong bilateral relationship with
the United States. This paper will

New York Coaches Case Study
The New York Jets are actively pursuing free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins. With four
quarterbacks expected to go early in the 2018 NFL Draft, here s why Gang Green should not waste
their time signing him.
At the start of the 2018 season, quarterback Kirk Cousins will be 30 years of age. The average
career span of an NFL quarterback with at least one Pro Bowl appearance is 11.7 years as provided
by Statista. Cousins would enter his seventh pro season in 2018. Which would give him five more
seasons left in his NFL career, according to the study.
Some of the past great quarterbacks declined in play at the age of 37. As a study by the Boston
Globe showed. Players such as Dan Marino, John Elway, and Brett Favre all declined in play.

The objective the New York Jetswould want if they signed Cousins, would be to win their second
Super Bowl championship. The one goal that has neglected the organization since 1968.
After the career year that former Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had in which he led a team full
of high priced veteran players one game away from making the NFL playoffs back in 2015, things
weren t ever the same. The organization recognized that going all out and spending every penny the
team had left in cap space was not the way to success and committed themselves to rebuilding
reconstructing with youth.
In an article written by Eric Allen of NewYorkJets.com, owner Woody Johnson stated the following
in regards to this:
If you want to go to the promise land, you have to go in a certain direction. I think what we have
done over the years is traded picks away and we ve had too big of an emphasis on free agency and
not enough emphasis on developing our own, he

Cameryn felt something on her foot, pulling her down. She looked at her feet to see it was just
seaweed, she kicked the green plant off her foot. As she looked back up the thing in the distance
had come closer, and closer. When she was able to make out the object, she knew she was in
trouble. A shark was coming at her and it looked like it wanted to kill. She cursed under her
breath and started swimming away. She was a fast swimmer but the shark was faster. Soon the
shark was swimming next to her, and then in front of her. It quickly turned around forcing her to
swim back down. And that s exactly what she did. She kept screaming for help in her head, but she

After about an hour or two of swimming, Bubbles told her that in a few minutes we would
arrive. Anxiety started building up in my chest. The thought of seeing people like myself made
me nervous. And the thought of getting claimed by a god only made it worse. Bubbles broke
the surface of the water, and I was able to take my first breath of fresh air in a while. It was a
calming silence before someone broke it by, not so badly, singing. Someone was singing Set
Fire to the Rain , and a lot of hissing was heard. My head snapped in that direction to see not one,
but two boys. One that was making water fall onto another boy who was setting fire to the rain. I
tried to hold in my laughter, but I cracked and almost fell off Bubbles. As I laughed the boys
looked at me, just realizing I was there. They made their way over to me, chuckling to
themselves. I got off Bubbles right before she headed back to the palace. They stop in front of

Sects Vs Cults
There are different types of groups that you can branch off of your religion, there are sects and
cults. A sect is a group of people with some different religious beliefs from the group larger to
where they actually belong, like a Church. A Cult is usually a small group of people who have
religious beliefs and practices observed by others as bizarre. A cultis founded by a powerful leader
also known as a charismatic. Sects have a high degree of pressure with the surrounding society
unlike churches.
Sect determines from the Latin word secta which is characterized as school of thought . It too
comes from the English dialect from the Old French secte which is alluded to as a particular
framework of convictions. While a cult is a completely different interpretation. Cult comes from a
Latin word cultus which implies labor, adore, veneration, or culture . It too entered the English
dialect through the French word culte which is characterized as specific form of worship . At that
point later on in the English dialect it came to mean devotion to an individual or thing . ... Show

group and they branched off by themselves to practice a different doctrine, some of the sects I

Causes And Consequences Of The Social Identity Theory
The Social Identity Theory was created by Dr. Henri Tajfel, British Social psychologist, and Dr.
John Turner, a graduate student of Dr. Tajfel, in 1979. Social identity is defined as an individual s
sense of self in relation to a group (McLeod, 2008). This psychological theory is based on the idea
of discrimination between different groups; Dr. Tajfel and Dr. John Turner wanted to understand
why and how this intergroup discrimination occurs. The life experiences of the theorists,
components of the theory, and possible consequences of the theory contribute to how relatable this
theory is to college students.
To understand the foundation that the Social Identity theory was built on, one must understand the
life experiences of those who created the theory. Dr. Henri Tajfelwas born in Polish Jewish family
on June 22, 1919. During his late childhood and early adulthood, Jews were despised by the
Germans and approximately six million Jews were executed during the 1930s. During the
Holocaust, his immediate family and closest friends were murdered by the Nazis. His life was
spared, because he went to school at Sorbonne in Paris, France, where he became fluent in
French. Dr. Tajfel pretended to be French male in the French Army. However, according to
Vaughan (2017), he did become a prison of war in 1940 because of his assumed French identity.
He would have been most likely killed if his true ethnicity was revealed. Nevertheless, these life
experiences encouraged him to do

How Gender Roles Have Played A Big Part Of The History Essay
Gender roles have played a big part of the history of this country and in this new day and age are
becoming more progressive. Women in men gender roles are not at all such a horrendous idea. In
some cases, jobs traditionally performed by men, were done better by female employees but some
some careers are specifically meant for men. Women should not take part in militarycombat or any
career that carries the same physical demands. Here are two examples accompanied by arguments
an evidence that argue the above statement.
In this film a team of astronauts is forced to make a decision that leaves one of their own behind.
During a violent storm, while on Mars, commander Lewis (Jessica Chastain) is forced to leave
one of her astronauts when Mark Watney is struck by debris. He is presumed dead and is
considered a great loss to NASA, the Nation. Soon enough headquarters discovers that Watney is
alive and they begin to formulate a resupply and rescue mission. When NASA reveals to the Ares

crew begins to work together to get Watney back, they run into vital issues that could cause theirs

Marco Polo s Influence On The World
I have not told half of what I saw were the final words of the great Venetian explorer Marco Polo;
however, in recent times, Marco Polo s exploits have been doubted more and more. (Pedriali, 161)
Most often cited as evidence that Marco Polo s travels may not have been as truthful as reported is
the 1998 book Did Marco Pologo to china? by Dr. Frances Wood. Through new research done by
Dr. Hans Ulrich Vogel of University of TГ
јbingen in Germany, it has been shown that Marco Polo
was mostly truthful in his memoirs, but it has also proven that some things were exaggerated
thanks to his ghostwriter Rustichello da Pisa, Marco Polo himself, or later copyists.
Marco Polo was a 13th century Venetian merchant explorer who is said to have traveled with his
father and uncle to the Far East lands of China, Mongolia, India, and others. During this time the
Mongols, known as the Golden Horde, were in control of much of Asia. Although this power
was beginning to dissolve by the time the Polos set off on this journey, it was seen clearly that
the Mongols still held power in the region. The Mongol leader, Khubilai Kahn, was a glistening
example of this power (Jackson, 1998). Polo is said to have served under him as an envoy for a
time before his return to Venice. While in Venice, after being captured by the Genoese during a
small conflict between the Genoese and the Venetians, Polo and his Ghostwriter, Rustichello da
Pisa, wrote his memoirs, The Travels of Marco Polo. This manuscript is a

The Scottish Referendum For Independence
Abstract
The question I seek to answer in this essay is whether the Scottish Referendum for Independence
from 18th September 2014 (hereafter referred as the 2014 Referendum ) was indeed a process
that can give account to legitimacy. This essay will look at legitimacy as being a moral claim set
by our own culture. It will also explore the meaning of overall legitimacy of the 2014 Referendum
and if individual claims of citizens are in conflict with it. Furthermore, it will argued that the
political discourse of Alex Salmond and of the Scottish National Party as a whole, was detrimental
to the Scottish civil society as it facilitated its division.
Scope of the question and its delimitation
This essay will solely give an account of the relatively of the 2014 Referendum s legitimacy and
will show that through non relative arguments coming from the SNP political discourse, the overall
legitimacy of the 2014 Referendum provides a prescriptive account on the devolution in so far. A
notion that will not be addressed by this essay is represented by the impact of the Scottish
referendum for independence on countries such as Spain and the states from the former Republic of
Yugoslavia.
Disposition of the essay
In what follows a background of the referendum will be presented. Afterwards, it shall be argued
that the entire process for establishing the 2014 Referendum cannot be seen as a democratic one,
as it is was induced by the Yes Campaign consequently is logically flawed.

Hume on Custom Habit
First Paper Assignment; Hume on Customs and Habits Custom, then, is the great guide of
human life. It is that principle alone which renders our experience useful to us, and makes us
expect, for the future, a similar train of events with those which have appeared in the past.
Without the influence of custom, we should be entirely ignorant of every matter of fact beyond
what is immediately present to the memory and senses. We should never know how to adjust
means to ends, or to employ our natural powers in the production of any effect. There would be
an end at once of all action, as well as of the chief part of speculation. (Hume, Enquiry) Hume is a

Parliamentary Protests Of The United States
The threat presented by extra parliamentary protest in the years 1815 20 was plagued by weak
and divided leadership which limited it from driving results that met its full potential. However,
there were also other factors that served to undermine progress such as the actions of the
government in repressing dissenters and the low level of available logistical resources .
Evan tells us in Source 3 that the movement lacked coherent leadership. His view supports the
argument for the threat being undermined by the weakness of having too many orators captivated
by the sound of their own voices of whom not enough bridged the gap between rhetoric and reality.
Being unable to convey the actions people would be required to take for change within their
messages reduced the movement almost to a talking shop of radical leaders, carried away without
realistic planning . We can see the fruits of their failed labours in the way the government had little
difficulty in handling any protests and this repeated derailing meant there was rarely a leadership
united enough to effectively inspire confidence. On the other hand, Thompson deems radicalism to
have assumed more conscious, organised and sophisticated forms , going so far as to call it a
heroic age , which somewhat refutes the criticisms of inadequacy in the power of the speeches
made. Indeed, the reality that in addition to Norwich and Sheffield: Nottingham, Coventry and
Bolton were also assessed by the authorities as being

The Core Components Of The Social Exchange Theory
Social Exchange Theory is grounded in the idea that people assess their relationships from an
economic perspective when pertaining to costs and rewards that are identified amongst different
relational partners. It is within this paper that we discuss the core components that make up the
theory, the possible advantages and disadvantages of its use, as well as touch base on a real world
communicationexample the Social ExchangeTheory can be associated with.
There are multiple core components that have been identified and further constructed in which
make up the Social Exchange Theory. West and Turner (2014) further explain that costs are the
factors that contribute to the negative value we place on relationships while rewards are rather the
positive values. Additionally, West and Turner proceed with the idea that we evaluate all types of
relationships by using the following equation:
Worth = Rewards Costs
When rewards are greater than the costs, or the final amount is a positive number, it is considered
to be a positive relationship, whereas a negative number would indicate the relationship to be
negative. The Social Exchange Theory then acknowledges the worth of these relationships and the
outcomes that will be endured, or whether or not relationships will hold stable or instead be
terminated. It is the idea that individuals enter into and maintain relationships as long as it is
satisfying both person s self interest. Social Exchange Theory is based on the idea that

Influence of CSOs on government
CSOs have been instrumental in influencing government to incorporate environment and labor
provisions in the North American Free Trade Agreement and the World Trade Organisation (WTO)
negotiations, emboldening governments to allow banning of genetically modified organisms and

Florida’s Incompetent Capital Punishment System
Many times when watching television, we see horrible news about a crime committed, which is
most likely is not in self defense. The first thing that comes to our minds; this person is going to
receive the death penalty. First degree murder triggers our emotions to see justice. Even in a country
where everyone is innocent until proven guilty, we are quick to pass judgment and convict the
suspect in question. With technology so advanced in the United States where we can receive the
news even into our phones, many times the accused do not received a fair trial. On the other hand,
the incompetence of lawyers has created great doubt on the delivery of justice. Additionally, by

Supporters believe murder for murders is the only way to bring justice, and people would consider
the analogy before committing these types of crimes. Supporters of the capital punishment
system penalty argue that when enforced, the death penalty saves lives. The fault placed into the
opposing side for using the system with new trials to postpone execution. The problem with that
argument is that in Florida, a total of twenty five death row prisoners had been released due to
erroneous convictions and were able to prove innocence, not a strong argument when lives are at
risk. Meanwhile, the police department is facing budget cuts because the state of Florida is
facing a deficit of billions of dollars. At this moment, budget cuts are affecting all government
departments not only the police Department, but also fire department and education are also been
affected. Fifty one million dollars is the cost to enforce death penalty in Florida. If the death
penalty is eliminated, would be a savings of eleven millions would be saved just in specialist
lawyers for death penalty cases. Imagine allocating eleven million dollars just in the police
department for crime prevention. Supporters of the death penalty will argue that life in prison is not
enough to bring the much needed justice to the families of the victims. Kenneth Josh, in an article

An Analysis Of Bette Greene s The Summer Of My German Soldier
An action, a statement, one instant, has the power to alter your life and for young Patricia Bergen
in the young adult fiction novel, The Summer of my German Soldier by Bette Greene, many
different conflicts she had to face caused her to think very poorly of herself. Fortunately, with the
influence of one German soldier her whole mindset was revised. In the beginning of the novel ,
Patty Bergen portrays as an insecure, desperate, and a solitary young girl, but at the resolution of the
story we see Patty as a confident, mature, and hopeful young womanwho dreams of life away from
the hardships she faced.
When Patty Bergen is first introduced, we get an impression of Patty s life at home and her
parent s behavior towards her. Patty s father physically abuses her for misbehaving yet he beats
Patty mercilessly for foolish reasons in particular Mr. Bergen on page 106 and 107, God damn
you! He shouted at me. You ll obey me if it kills you! . In this quote, the harsh treatment Patty had
to experienced is displayed, the reader can notice that at the point, the quote occurs, Henry Bergen
assaults his daughter for a very foolish reason, explaining the reason why Patty is very
unaccompanied and how she is very determined to be adored by her parents. Not only is Patty
physically abused, but her mother verbally abuses her with insults and comments that cause Patty

The Role Of Ecological Validity Of A Research Study On Memory
This essay will be looking at the role of ecological validity and the importance it has in
psychological research. Ecological validity refers to the extent to which a study reflects
naturally occurring or everyday situations. It will also consider the advantages and
disadvantages of ecological validity, through exploring studies such as the bobo doll experiment
and a study on memory. Ecological validity is one of many important factor in psychological
research. Also being addressed is what goes into a study or experiment and all the things that
need to be considered to achieve ecological validity. In addition, it is important to design the
study in such a way that the results obtained can be usefully and meaningfully applied to the area
in question. Constructing experiments that achieve high ecological validity is quite a complex
and difficult task. When conducting a study or experiment there are lots of issues that
researchers and psychologists need to consider. Making good decisions on features like
conditions can make all the difference between a poor research study and one that contributes
significantly to new knowledge. The more researchers try to control a study or experiment, the
less ecological validity it tends to have. Studies or experiments that have high ecological validity
allows psychologists to generalise the findings which shows how behaviour is affected in real life.
A negative drawback from a study with high ecological validity is that it is very hard to

Analysis Of Maxine Hong Kingston s Woman Warrior
Relationship honoring is the backbone of Eastern Asian cultures which conflicts with the western
respect for individual freedom and the journey to personal discovery as defined by Susan Cain,
author of a nonfiction book published in 2012, Quiet. Maxine Hong Kingston explores this cultural
clash in her 1976 memoir, Woman Warrior, though following an insecure young daughter of a
Chinese immigrant family who increasingly becomes independent as she is influenced by
American Culture. Kingston uses Maxine s journey to portray that in a world that values
individualism, people who are raised according to foreign traditions of conformity often discover
that their parents are not capable mentors. This struggle eventually causes them break away from
their parent s orthodox ideals. Kingston delves into Maxine s analysis of American and Chinese

differences between them. To her, they were conspicuous. When struggling to read, she points out,

The Natural Born Citizen Clause
I The NATURAL BORN CITIZEN CLAUSE AS ORIGINALLY UNDERSTOOD IN EARLY
AMERICAN AND BRITISH COMMON LAW WOULD REFUTE SENATOR CRUZ S CASE
THAT HE IS A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN WITHOUT CORRESPONDING STATUTES
MAKING AN EXCEPTION.
The modern conventional wisdom of the phrase natural born citizen in the presidential eligibility
clause referred to anyone who was a U.S. citizen at birth either by a U.S. statute or via the
Constitution. The Constitution has no definition section, and subsequently the Supreme Court has
stated that when the Constitution is silent the law must be interpreted in the light of the common law
, the principles and history of which were familiarly known to the framers of the Constitution. My
argument is simple, it is reasonable to assume that the framers, most of whom were well trained
lawyers, purposely did not define the term natural born citizen believing that the controlling
common law principle was Jus Soli, and that Congress would pass corresponding statutes to
accommodate any exceptions to this principle similar to the practice that occurred in England with
Parliament.
A.The Common Law Meaning of the Natural Born Clause at the Time of Its Adoption in the
Constitution Most Likely Meant the Strict Approach of Jus Soli with the addition of Naturalization
Statutes.
According to one of the most famous English jurists of all time, Sir William Blackstone, the
definition natural born was best understood as a division of people into aliens and

value of performance. This was a highly calculated risk that BMW took as this strategy deviated
highly from their core values and they faced the risk of losing the loyal customer base who believed
in the tagline promoting BMW as the ultimate driving machine. When conducting a feedback from
the customers in US, they found that almost 75% 5 were not interested in buying the product.

Informative Speech On American Football
American football is widely enjoyed by our country. It is one of the top sports we participate in

It actually evolved from another sport. That sport being rugby. Rugby is a very physical game.
That is where footballgets it toughness from. The first ever game of football played was in
November 6 of 1869. The football game was between Rutgers and Princeton. Each team consisted
of 25 players. Though out time since then, rules have been changed and altered. The sport being
very physical, led to injuries amongst early players. Very little padding was used. Our president,

help but find it intriguing that poets who belong to the same religious group and style would
write so differently. Many of these differences are not even subtle or hidden beneath the text
itself. The differences themselves hold implications and ideas that differ between each poet. The
first difference which is the most obvious would be the style of each respected poet. Every poet
has a unique style, but generally those who belong to the same period or set of ideas have similar
styles. Between Bradstreet and Taylor there are no similarities in style. Taylor can be considered a
much more polished poet. Taylor s poetryis full of poetic techniques and advanced styling tools
such as the iambic meter and advanced rhyming schemes. This style can be seen as the norm for
a highly educated preacher which Taylor was. Bradstreet on the other hand has a more simplistic
style that can be seen as the voice of the common or average Puritan. Therefore, there is far less
ornamentation in her poetry. If one compares the Bradstreet s Here Follows Some Verses Upon
the Burning of Our House, July 10th, 1666. and Taylor s From God s Determinations. One can see
the difference in syntax clearly. Bradstreet uses simple diction while tackling the topic of her
burning house. She uses simple and

Searle s Systems Reply
In anticipation of possible replies to his findings, Searle explained the possible arguments against
his Chinese room thought experiment and replied to them. In one of these arguments, Searle
explains what he calls the Systems Reply. In this reply, although the man in the Chinese room
himself is unable to understand Chinese, the system as a whole, the man, the prompting screen, the
rule book, etc., does understand. In rebuttal, Searle simply supposes that the man internalizes all of
the knowledge of the transition from the questions in Chinese to the answers in Chinese. The man,
as a system, is now able to hear the Chinese characters prompted to him and respond based off the
rule book that he memorized. Searle argues that this eliminates... Show more content on

The system has proven its ability to identify different symbols, what they mean, what to respond
with and ultimately responding. In this way, it is possible for the man in the box to have endless
conversations with endless native Chinese speakers without their knowledge that he does not
understand Chinese. Although the man in the box does not understand Chinese, the system has
demonstrated the ability to understand it. In this, the man in the box does not understand Chinese,
nor does any other singular part of the room. However, when all parts of the system work together,
the entire system can mimic the understanding of Chinese. Chinese speakers (all speakers for that
matter) manipulate symbols in a formal system to communicate, just as the system demonstrates
the ability to do. The formal manipulation of symbols constitutes an understanding of the symbols,
the syntax and the rules that follow. This directly shows that the computer could have
understanding as it has the knowledge and the ability to manipulate symbols in speaking

Newsworthy Debate Within My Program of Study:
STEM and/or Liberal Arts
TerГ© Fowler Chapman
Northern Arizona University
When I first went to college I was seventeen years old with a knack for writing, an investment in
history through story telling, and curious about group dynamics, psychology, and sociology. When
I was seventeen these weren t the words I used to describe my interests in continuing education and
because of this I remember scanning through majors that didn t fit all my interests simultaneously.
For a moment, Liberal Arts caught my eye as it gave me the freedom to explore my own identity.
However, upon sharing this out loud with those in my mesosystem the underlying message of
choosing this major ultimately ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Liberal Education isn t focused on the political aspect of liberalism, however focuses on liberating
its students by giving students space to explore their passions deeply. This exploration cannot
happen in an education program that is built off of individualism and its exclusivity must
constantly be challenged. As Cronon states, We should remember the powerful class and gender
biases that were built into this vision of freedom. The free man who studied the Liberal Arts were
male aristocrats; these specialized bodies of knowledge were status markers that set them apart
from unfree serfs and peasants, as well as from the members of other vulgar and ignoble classes.
Our modern sense of Liberal Education has expanded from this medieval foundation to include a
greater range of human talents and a much more inclusive number of human beings, holding out at
least the dream that everyone might someday be liberated by an education that stands in the service
of human freedom (Olejarz, 2017). Liberal Education isn t about mastering a particular subject.
Instead Liberal Education is about mastering positive characteristics that foster a deeper sense of
personal identity and cultivate human freedom. When the debate between STEM and Liberal
Education arise the underlying impression of those that support segregating the importance of these
two focuses challenge that Liberal

Environmental Pollution is Causing Serious and Lasting...
One of the greatest problems that the world is facing today are of environmental pollution,
pollution is increasing rapidly every year and causing serious and lasting damage to the earth. In
the short story A Fable for Tomorrow by Rachel Carson, describes a small beautiful town in
America that later become a terrible town, because it was overwhelmed by pollution. In addition,
most of the technology that is uses in today society causes pollution for examples, cars, and

chemical fertilizers and pesticides to increase the harvest. Many burning processes, such as wood

form of smoke. These may affect climate change by dropping the clearness of the atmosphere.
There are not a lot of people who are willing to give up things that cause carbon dioxide pollution

carbon dioxide, that cause pollution they will not have enjoyment in their life, which makes
hard for people to live in harmony with nature. Moreover, it becomes a big challenge for people
to give up on something that is very useable in everyday life such as cars, and rail because if they
do not use car to go somewhere they have to walk, which takes a lot of their. The other reason they
do not want to give up on their things is more responsibility and less leisure time to enjoy.

Railroads can be used human passenger traffic, or the transportation of freight and shipments from
one destination to another due to the fact that trains are four times more fuel efficient than trucks
(Association of American Railroads [AAR], 2015), and the fact that railroads also reduce highway
gridlock, lower greenhouse gas emissions, reduce pollution (AAR, 2015). In fact railroad
transportation according to United States Department of Transportation s Federal Railroad

the threat of hazardous materials utilizing the railroads that can potential be used as par of a

JAWS
Director, screenwriter, and producer, Stephen Spielberg, has been often described by critics as
being one of the trailblazers who paved the way for the new Hollywood era. In fact, one of
Spielberg s earliest films, JAWS, captured the audience s attentions so vividly that the movie
remains to be a cult classic even decades later. The audience sunk its teeth deep into the enticing
combination of drama, thrill, science fiction, and adventure the filmobtained. At face value, JAWS
appears to be focused on a giant monstrous fish, but with further analyzation of the plot structure,
narration, and original music demonstrates the brilliance and complexity of why JAWS is a well
deserving Oscar winning movie.
Stephen Spielberg claimed the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually, films are neither holistically unrestricted, omniscient, or restricted. If a film is completely
unrestricted everything would be expected, which makes it extremely difficult for the audience to
continue watching. However, if the piece is completely restricted, the plot and narration ranges can
be severely limited. JAWS defeats these two flaws by containing both unrestricted and restricted
narrative qualities. Although, he is not the narrator, by watching Brody s strengths and weaknesses
it s unquestionable why any person would root for Brody. Thus, restricting the audience into
following the knowledge of Brody with the exception of the musically intensified shark attacks. For
example, every time the camera moves around the water and then focuses on the next victim s
vulnerable feet the audience knows an attack is waiting. The non diegetic sounds of the iconic
musical piece, Main Title, beautifully speeds up after the camera, thus indicating to the audience
the shark is about to attack without the actor s or actress s knowledge. This is vividly shown in
both the opening scene and the Alex Kintner scene as a tactic to get the audience s heartbeat
pumping and blood pressure rising. On another note, screenwriters often surround the protagonist
with family members hoping this would create a sentimental relationship between the audience and
the character. However, this often does not because of

Rural Food Security And Nutrition
The potential of crossbreeding indigenous chickens to improve rural food security and nutrition in
southern Africa a review
Abstract
The need to increase poultry production in southern Africa to meet the increasing protein
requirement of the growing population is becoming a great concern. The quality of poultry meat and
eggs produced in terms of taste, texture, flavour and leanness are of importance to consumers.
Crossbreeding indigenous with exotic strains of chickens is one of the main factors that can
improve food and nutrition security in southern Africa. In this paper, ways in which the quality and
quantity of poultry meat and eggs can be improved for sustainable food and nutrition security in
southern Africa, with emphasis on crossbreeding as a prospective food security (protein) stability
technique are discussed. This paper is based on critical analysis of the literature and discusses and
evaluates various crossbreeding methods of chickens that have been carried out in African
countries. Comparative studies on the implementation, failures and successes of crossbreeding of
chickens in African countries, such as Egypt, Botswana, Malawi and South Africa among others are
reviewed. Crossbreeding, combined with selection, information dissemination, improved
management and technology, is recommended for the geometric increase in poultry meat and egg
production in southern Africa to improve food and nutrition security.

The Waterfront By Terry Malloy
Terry Malloy is a dock worker for the union and in this story, this is the first main point of why
he is being controlled by the MOB. In one scene, where Terry is in the office, Terry is being
treated as a child towards Johnny and it makes him feel overwhelmed. Also, out on the docks,
his bosses treats Terry poorly because they are rude to him and it make him work very hard to
earn his pay. For an example, pigeons, on the other hand, is a symbol that represents the life that
Terry wants because he wishes he was free from the union, to be like a pigeon, and the reason is
that he says, they got it made, they eat all they want, fly around like crazy, sleep side by side, and
raise gobs of squads (On the Waterfront). Another thing about pigeons, is that they are beautiful
creatures that can be seen from power lines and in large fields too. The last part about being
controlled by the MOB is because there is a good side about it because this is when Terry is
feeding the pigeons, he is happy, and he is away from the MOB.... Show more content on

workers because they keep them for themselves. Another thing is because Terry is upset that

a death trap (On the Waterfront). Also, on the other hand, Father Barry is another character that
Terry did not like because Terry was a murder which made him very upset, and this is because he
explains to Father Barry about keepin silent when you know the score (On the Waterfront). The
last thing is that Terry did see a lot of deaths which the hooks might be Terry s end, but this is

My own experiences having raised three children, two girls and a boy have shown that access by
them to technology such as the computer, other technological devices and access to the internet
and television programming have contributed to aspects of their own self development which
were not available to their predecessors and in my own considered judgment, based on these
developments allow for a level of maturity beyond their young ages. Given the observations on
growing p too fast, as discussed above and inclusive of research and findings by Hymowitz (1998)
which articulated on trends observed n the society in which his daughter grew up, supporting
discussions by the Sunday Sun ( 2011); Hughes (2009); Wilson ( 2008) and my own experiences in
observing the phenomena of children maturing at an earlier age than their predecessors, I submit
and support the thesis statement that children are growing up much faster currently than their
predecessors based on the evidence provided in the discussion which support such conclusions.
III.SECTION 3 CONCLUSION The phenomena of young children developing a more matured
status as opposed to their predecessors have been noted by a number of researchers. This
development have been attributed to a number of factors related to technology, exposure to
activities through various technological means which enhance their own education and even the
attitude by parents, which allow for a more matured

Why Do Colleges Should Diminish Their Tuition Fees
At the present time, it is unquestionable fact that college education is unaffordable for the
majority of students those who come from countrysides. Therefore, some people believe that
colleges should diminish their tuition fee, particulary for such unfortune pupils. In my view, I am
not in favour of the idea given due to two main reasons. In this essay, firstly I will discuss the
harmful effects of the idea in terms of economy and secondly how it can lead to unfairness
amongst students. To begin with, if colleges decrease their tuition cost in order to be more
affordable for poor pupils, it will probably result in degradation of universitybudget. This is mainly
because, both local and public universities need money in order to meet their

Some teachers before a test gives out chocolate or mint to help them with self confidence and concentration. For students, eating the chocolate usually help them calm down. We will have about one hundred and fifty kids in total. Seventy five of them will go in one group while the other seventy five goes in another room. In the experiment group, we will give them both chocolate and mint. To get rid of the cofounding variable known as cheating we spread out the kids in the large testing room. We will also be having phones off in this test so the kids won t be able to use it during the test, which gets rid of another confounding variable. Another confounding variable we have to get rid of is distractions. Anything that distracts the children could hinder the test, so the room has to be silent at all times. We will give out the same test, independent variable, to all of the kids in the experiment. We will see how the effects of the chocolate and mint, dependent variable, affect the kids that are taking the test. We will give them about forty five minutes to complete the test. If they do not finish in time, we will grade the questions that have been answered. We will then record all the results of the test and write them down on paper and compare it with the test scores of the control group. Once we compare these two results we will get an answer to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Plants Grow Research Paper Plants have many roles to play. Plants make food and oxygen, they provide shelter for animals, and they make and preserve soil, and provide useful products for humans. Plants are the only organism that is able to convert light energy from the sun into food. This process is called photosynthesis. The food that we eat is produced by plants. Humans need oxygento live. This oxygen comes from plants. Oxygen is produced when plants make food. Animals often use plants for their shelter and their food source. Plants roots help hold the soil together and also help make soil. Plants help humans more than just the oxygen they produce. They also produce food, fibers, medicines, and energy. Animals and humans depend greatly on the roles of plants. (1)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First off, the temperature needs to be right. If it is too high or too low it will result in abdominal development. Flowers and vegetables that grow in different seasons, require a different temperature. Warm season vegetables and flowers grow best in 60o F, 75o F, and 80o F. Cool season vegetables and flowers grow best in 50o F and 70o F. Plants require large amounts of sunlight to grow. Indoor light often does not provide enough intensity. During the hot summer months, plants need at least one half gallon of water each day. If plants do not receive enough water each day, their roots will dry out and they will die. Just like humans, plants also need oxygen to survive. They use oxygen for respiration to carry out their functions. Plants absorb minerals through their roots. They need these minerals to survive. Some of the specific minerals they need is soil, fertilizer, manure, compost, fertilizer salts. Finally, plants need support. Their basic support is soil that surrounds their roots. • 7. Difficult Choices in David Guterson’s Snow Falling on Cedars Difficult Choices in David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars It is mid 1950 s in predominantly white populated San Piedro Island. One of its residents has been murdered and another stands accused of the crime. From the first chapter and through the use of flashbacks, David Guterson makes us aware of the racism that exists in the small, West Coast island of San Piedro. The victim, Carl Heine, is of European descent; the accused man, Kabuo Miyamoto, is of Japanese ancestry. There also is a small community of Japanese residents on San Piedro Island. David Guterson s novel Snow Falling on Cedars includes themes about love and war, but none is more central than racism and prejudice as a choice of the heart and mind of the individual. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Islanders do not have any desire to acquire a better understanding of the Japanese residents and their culture. This fact is very important when we consider that Kabuo s personality is bringing him closer to a guilty verdict, not because of guilt, but because of overall ignorance and prejudice. Guterson exploits racism and prejudice as a choice by presenting the reader with characters that are influenced by it. The victim had been a friend of the accused during childhood, yet they are portrayed as prejudiced at some point after the war. We see this during Kabuo s summation of the events. Carl says I was out at sea, fighting you goddamn Japs sons a to which Kabuo replies, I killed men who looked just like you pig fed German bastards.... So don t you talk to me about Japs, you big Nazi son of a bitch (404). They had both been to war and it seems that this event has torn apart their ability to be fair. The characterization of Etta Heine is one of extreme hatred. Her character is presented as a flat individual consumed by racism. This is evident when Etta is called to testify during the inception of the trial. She tells a story full of hate, resentment and envy. Etta did not approve selling part of her land to a Japanese and her argument against it illustrates it: We re not such paupers as to sell to Japs, are we? (120). It is not because she doesn t like the money or because she cared about the island or for the strawberries that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Iranian Hostage Crisis Of 1979 The Iranian Hostage Crisis of 1979 was an event that profoundly impacted Western Iranian relations, to the extent that its residual effects still linger today. Iran s revolution of 1979 resulted in a regime change that saw U.S. supported Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi toppled by the formerly exiled Ayotollah Khomeini, who promptly instated a strongly anti Western regime that established itself as ideologically in direct opposition to many Western values. This anti Western, and particularly anti American sentiment was common amongst many Iranians due to their resentment of U.S. support for Shah Pahlavi and his oppressive and unsatisfactory regime. This resentment was markedly exhibited to the international community with the seizure of the American Embassy in Tehran by Khomeini supporting Islamist students, who took 66 Americans hostage. Since the Western realm is held together by shared values and sense of community, amongst other features, and Khomeini s Iranhad proven itself to be not only an ideological threat to Westerners, but a security one as well as exemplified by the hostage taking, Canadaswiftly worked bilaterally to defend its realm by sheltering 6 American diplomats in the home of Canadian Ambssador Ken Taylor, and covertly aiding the C.I.A. in the hostages extraction . Canada s role in the hostage crisis internationally reinforced its loyalty to the Western realm, and in particular, its strong bilateral relationship with the United States. This paper will ... The average career span of an NFL quarterback with at least one Pro Bowl appearance is 11.7 years as provided by Statista. Cousins would enter his seventh pro season in 2018. Which would give him five more seasons left in his NFL career, according to the study. Some of the past great quarterbacks declined in play at the age of 37. As a study by the Boston Globe showed. The organization recognized that going all out and spending every penny the team had left in cap space was not the way to success and committed themselves to rebuilding reconstructing with youth. It was a calming silence before someone broke it by, not so badly, singing. Someone was singing Set Fire to the Rain , and a lot of hissing was heard. My head snapped in that direction to see not one, but two boys. One that was making water fall onto another boy who was setting fire to the rain. • 13. Sects Vs Cults There are different types of groups that you can branch off of your religion, there are sects and cults. A sect is a group of people with some different religious beliefs from the group larger to where they actually belong, like a Church. A Cult is usually a small group of people who have religious beliefs and practices observed by others as bizarre. A cultis founded by a powerful leader also known as a charismatic. Sects have a high degree of pressure with the surrounding society unlike churches. Sect determines from the Latin word secta which is characterized as school of thought . It too comes from the English dialect from the Old French secte which is alluded to as a particular framework of convictions. While a cult is a completely different interpretation. Cult comes from a Latin word cultus which implies labor, adore, veneration, or culture . • 15. Causes And Consequences Of The Social Identity Theory The Social Identity Theory was created by Dr. Henri Tajfel, British Social psychologist, and Dr. John Turner, a graduate student of Dr. Tajfel, in 1979. Social identity is defined as an individual s sense of self in relation to a group (McLeod, 2008). This psychological theory is based on the idea of discrimination between different groups; Dr. Tajfel and Dr. John Turner wanted to understand why and how this intergroup discrimination occurs. The life experiences of the theorists, components of the theory, and possible consequences of the theory contribute to how relatable this theory is to college students. To understand the foundation that the Social Identity theory was built on, one must understand the life experiences of those who created the theory. Dr. Henri Tajfelwas born in Polish Jewish family on June 22, 1919. During his late childhood and early adulthood, Jews were despised by the Germans and approximately six million Jews were executed during the 1930s. During the Holocaust, his immediate family and closest friends were murdered by the Nazis. His life was spared, because he went to school at Sorbonne in Paris, France, where he became fluent in French. Dr. Tajfel pretended to be French male in the French Army. However, according to Vaughan (2017), he did become a prison of war in 1940 because of his assumed French identity. He would have been most likely killed if his true ethnicity was revealed. • 16. How Gender Roles Have Played A Big Part Of The History Essay Gender roles have played a big part of the history of this country and in this new day and age are becoming more progressive. Women in men gender roles are not at all such a horrendous idea. In some cases, jobs traditionally performed by men, were done better by female employees but some some careers are specifically meant for men. Women should not take part in militarycombat or any career that carries the same physical demands. Here are two examples accompanied by arguments an evidence that argue the above statement. When NASA reveals to the Ares III crew that Watney is still alive, they are given the choice to retrieve Watney themselves. As the crew begins to work together to get Watney back, they run into vital issues that could cause theirs and Watney s death. Marco Polo s Influence On The World I have not told half of what I saw were the final words of the great Venetian explorer Marco Polo; however, in recent times, Marco Polo s exploits have been doubted more and more. (Pedriali, 161) Most often cited as evidence that Marco Polo s travels may not have been as truthful as reported is the 1998 book Did Marco Pologo to china? by Dr. Frances Wood. Through new research done by Dr. Hans Ulrich Vogel of University of TГ јbingen in Germany, it has been shown that Marco Polo was mostly truthful in his memoirs, but it has also proven that some things were exaggerated thanks to his ghostwriter Rustichello da Pisa, Marco Polo himself, or later copyists. Marco Polo was a 13th century Venetian merchant explorer who is said to have traveled with his father and uncle to the Far East lands of China, Mongolia, India, and others. During this time the Mongols, known as the Golden Horde, were in control of much of Asia. Although this power was beginning to dissolve by the time the Polos set off on this journey, it was seen clearly that the Mongols still held power in the region. The Mongol leader, Khubilai Kahn, was a glistening example of this power (Jackson, 1998). Polo is said to have served under him as an envoy for a time before his return to Venice. While in Venice, after being captured by the Genoese during a small conflict between the Genoese and the Venetians, Polo and his Ghostwriter, Rustichello da Pisa, wrote his memoirs, The Travels of Marco Polo. The Scottish Referendum For Independence Abstract The question I seek to answer in this essay is whether the Scottish Referendum for Independence from 18th September 2014 (hereafter referred as the 2014 Referendum ) was indeed a process that can give account to legitimacy. This essay will look at legitimacy as being a moral claim set by our own culture. It will also explore the meaning of overall legitimacy of the 2014 Referendum and if individual claims of citizens are in conflict with it. Furthermore, it will argued that the political discourse of Alex Salmond and of the Scottish National Party as a whole, was detrimental to the Scottish civil society as it facilitated its division. Scope of the question and its delimitation This essay will solely give an account of the relatively of the 2014 Referendum s legitimacy and will show that through non relative arguments coming from the SNP political discourse, the overall legitimacy of the 2014 Referendum provides a prescriptive account on the devolution in so far. A notion that will not be addressed by this essay is represented by the impact of the Scottish referendum for independence on countries such as Spain and the states from the former Republic of Yugoslavia. • 22. Parliamentary Protests Of The United States The threat presented by extra parliamentary protest in the years 1815 20 was plagued by weak and divided leadership which limited it from driving results that met its full potential. However, there were also other factors that served to undermine progress such as the actions of the government in repressing dissenters and the low level of available logistical resources . Evan tells us in Source 3 that the movement lacked coherent leadership. His view supports the argument for the threat being undermined by the weakness of having too many orators captivated by the sound of their own voices of whom not enough bridged the gap between rhetoric and reality. Being unable to convey the actions people would be required to take for change within their messages reduced the movement almost to a talking shop of radical leaders, carried away without realistic planning . We can see the fruits of their failed labours in the way the government had little difficulty in handling any protests and this repeated derailing meant there was rarely a leadership united enough to effectively inspire confidence. On the other hand, Thompson deems radicalism to have assumed more conscious, organised and sophisticated forms , going so far as to call it a heroic age , which somewhat refutes the criticisms of inadequacy in the power of the speeches made. The Core Components Of The Social Exchange Theory Social Exchange Theory is grounded in the idea that people assess their relationships from an economic perspective when pertaining to costs and rewards that are identified amongst different relational partners. It is within this paper that we discuss the core components that make up the theory, the possible advantages and disadvantages of its use, as well as touch base on a real world communicationexample the Social ExchangeTheory can be associated with. There are multiple core components that have been identified and further constructed in which make up the Social Exchange Theory. West and Turner (2014) further explain that costs are the factors that contribute to the negative value we place on relationships while rewards are rather the positive values. Additionally, West and Turner proceed with the idea that we evaluate all types of relationships by using the following equation: Worth = Rewards Costs When rewards are greater than the costs, or the final amount is a positive number, it is considered to be a positive relationship, whereas a negative number would indicate the relationship to be negative. The Social Exchange Theory then acknowledges the worth of these relationships and the outcomes that will be endured, or whether or not relationships will hold stable or instead be terminated. It is the idea that individuals enter into and maintain relationships as long as it is satisfying both person s self interest. Social Exchange Theory is based on the idea that ... Ecological validity refers to the extent to which a study reflects naturally occurring or everyday situations. It will also consider the advantages and disadvantages of ecological validity, through exploring studies such as the bobo doll experiment and a study on memory. Ecological validity is one of many important factor in psychological research. Also being addressed is what goes into a study or experiment and all the things that need to be considered to achieve ecological validity. In addition, it is important to design the study in such a way that the results obtained can be usefully and meaningfully applied to the area in question. Constructing experiments that achieve high ecological validity is quite a complex and difficult task. When conducting a study or experiment there are lots of issues that researchers and psychologists need to consider. Making good decisions on features like conditions can make all the difference between a poor research study and one that contributes significantly to new knowledge. The more researchers try to control a study or experiment, the less ecological validity it tends to have. Studies or experiments that have high ecological validity allows psychologists to generalise the findings which shows how behaviour is affected in real life. The Natural Born Citizen Clause I The NATURAL BORN CITIZEN CLAUSE AS ORIGINALLY UNDERSTOOD IN EARLY AMERICAN AND BRITISH COMMON LAW WOULD REFUTE SENATOR CRUZ S CASE THAT HE IS A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN WITHOUT CORRESPONDING STATUTES MAKING AN EXCEPTION. The modern conventional wisdom of the phrase natural born citizen in the presidential eligibility clause referred to anyone who was a U.S. citizen at birth either by a U.S. statute or via the Constitution. The Constitution has no definition section, and subsequently the Supreme Court has stated that when the Constitution is silent the law must be interpreted in the light of the common law , the principles and history of which were familiarly known to the framers of the Constitution. My argument is simple, it is reasonable to assume that the framers, most of whom were well trained lawyers, purposely did not define the term natural born citizen believing that the controlling common law principle was Jus Soli, and that Congress would pass corresponding statutes to accommodate any exceptions to this principle similar to the practice that occurred in England with Parliament. Yet this similarity has proven to be one of the few, if not only between these two. One cannot help but find it intriguing that poets who belong to the same religious group and style would write so differently. Many of these differences are not even subtle or hidden beneath the text itself. The differences themselves hold implications and ideas that differ between each poet. The first difference which is the most obvious would be the style of each respected poet. Every poet has a unique style, but generally those who belong to the same period or set of ideas have similar styles. Between Bradstreet and Taylor there are no similarities in style. Taylor can be considered a much more polished poet. Taylor s poetryis full of poetic techniques and advanced styling tools such as the iambic meter and advanced rhyming schemes. This style can be seen as the norm for a highly educated preacher which Taylor was. Bradstreet on the other hand has a more simplistic style that can be seen as the voice of the common or average Puritan. Therefore, there is far less ornamentation in her poetry. If one compares the Bradstreet s Here Follows Some Verses Upon the Burning of Our House, July 10th, 1666. and Taylor s From God s Determinations. One can see the difference in syntax clearly.
