Abstract: In this paper we present a load measurement scheme for home energy
management system with energy demand management. The proposed system will
have control of various appliances that are available in the home. It manages
household loads according to their predefined priority and guarantees the total
household power consumption below certain levels. The home energy management
system will receive the demand response from the utility side. The goal of the
system is to encourage the consumer to use less energy during peak hours or to
move the time of energy use to off peak times such as nighttime and weekends.
Thus the high peak to average ratio (PAR) of power will be avoided and also we
adopt real time pricing. The utility company use real time dynamic pricing to
coordinate demand responses to the benefit of the overall system. Hence for this
purpose we need to measure the power consumed by the various appliances that are
available in the home.

Teaching has been a fundamental component of my academic training. Throughout
my doctoral and postdoctoral work at the City University of New York (CUNY), I
have been actively involved in teaching undergraduates and mentoring both high
school and undergraduate research students. I taught General Chemistry (I II)

Often student oriented teaching provides a relatively convenient platform for active
learning, and I count upon feedback from students to restructure my teaching
methods. I appreciate that the use of technology can breathe new life into the
traditional way of teaching a subject. Based on my interdisciplinary academic

and skills, gained from studying a specific subject, to a variety of areas. I find it

Tsunamis are unfortunate events that humanity will have to deal with for eternity.
They one of the most versatile forms of a natural disaster, as they can be caused by

The importance of solitude can further be divulged into by Franz Kafka s words that
writing is the ultimate source of utter solitude, it acts as a welcome reprieve.
Another of William Wordsworth s contemporaries, Lord Byron was of the opinion
that letter writing was the ultimate way of merging good company with solitude.
In Ralph Waldo Emerson s renowned essay Self Reliance he surmises that it is quite
easy to dwell in the world without caring for its opinion but the greatest level of
solitude and tranquility is achieved when a person learns to be carefree in the midst

cross on the way to freedom. It also was close to the border with the south during the
civil war, causing it as a marker of entrance into the northern part of the united states

Cincinnati Riots of 1829. Cincinnati was full of irish immigrants and they disliked
the competition they received from the African American community in the area.
Irish attacked African Americans in the area trying to get them to leave the area,
leaving more jobs for the immigrants. Some of the African Americans left, while
others stayed and fought for their jobs and lives. Another attack occurred later in
1836, this time attacking a printing press that was publishing a anti slavery
newspaper. A mob destroyed the press, throwing it out into the streets in attempt to
deter the publisher, soon though he continued to publish his newspaper. The Ohio
river was a prominent part of railroad in Cincinnati. It was referred to the jordan
