I can offer you creative, manufacturable concepts that can be developed into desireable, innovative consumer goods achieved with 6
years industry experience behind me and first hand manufacturing knowledge from the Far East including project development, quality
checks & product/factory sourcing. With a proven track record in bringing successful projects to market & selling through some of the
largest retailers in Europe, I am driven to succeed by the pure fact that I take great pride from seeing my designs in-store.

3. Inspiration
A prevalent feature of my work is to create tactile interfaces that entice customers to interact with the products. Whether furniture,
products or Smartphone apps, the material, colour or texture/finish choice is crucial to a successful product and my inspiration for this
comes from day-to-day observations, trends, usability studies or design & material exhibitions.

4. idea generation // sketch development
Sketching is a key part of my design process, it is how I explore form, function and styling, getting down as many ideas as I can so that
they can be formulated into proposals at a later date. As a key communication tool it is one skill that is important that you can portray
your design quickly and easily for clients and manufacturers.

5. Concept Development // Concept Proposals
Each client or project is different and on recent projects I have found that some just want to run with the first idea and others like to
tinker until they feel it is just right. To maintain this flexibility it is important for a designer to be able to produce highly detailed sketch
proposals highlighting each detail and feature; with the flexibility of a sketch pad or tablet this has never been easier.

6. CAD Development // Final Presentation
Concept development is one of the best parts of designing. As I move my sketch vision through to CAD constantly refining the design
as you place tolerances and limitations on the concept that were not there when it was just a sketch. I have been always been confident
in presenting my work, normally as a series of mounted renders in house, but I have also presented to clients and at training demos.

7. CAD Skillset
CAD modelling has been the key tool in product development, prototyping, presentation and manufacturing for as long as I can
remember. Having grown up through the advent of modern day computing I am quick to pick up new software and always extend my
learning as much as I can. My current software knowledge revolves around SolidWorks but have also used 3DS Max, Alias and Keyshot

8. Prototyping
I am always keen to realise my designs and take every opportunity to move to a prototype stage, when at University I was able to use
metal working, plastic moulding and woodworking facilities as well as an FDM and Laser Sintering machine; more recently however, if
a rapid prototype is not workable I use foam board/card or work with our suppliers to produce the most effective sample. Image Credits: (From Left) Keepit Clean Prototype development,

9. Project managment
Project management is a skill set I am still developing; It is a process that requires complete focus and your attention and I have found it
challenging and exciting at the same time. This position has been very much an add-on to my design role but it has given me a unique

10. manufactured for a mass market
I have been fortunate enough that I have seen many of my designs find their way into retail stores around the world and this is what
drives me as a designer - I have always had a strong ethos about designing manufacturable goods and there is no greater feeling than
seeing your product being bought instore.

11. Designs in All Areas
I have had the opportunity to work in a number of design areas which has benefitted my design knowledge. My experience with Point
of Sale and Connectivity Cable design has improved my ability to design aesthetically pleasing product but to low cost margins, with
the iWires app I learnt about interaction and interface design, simplfying the processes to achieve a better consumer journey. Designing
for electronic products has been the most enlightening however, but an essential “education” to allow me to develop future products.

12. Personal Interests
My interests and experiences are key to my design influences. I try to be absorb my surroundings, sounds, colours and experiences
and utilise these in my designs. Sport, Cooking, Travel, Architecture and Art are perfect stimuli for inspiration and I have managed to
experience these around the world.
