I am a creative director and digital designer with over 13
years experience in the communications industry and
extensive experience in internal communication, brand
engagement, marketing and elearning.
Growing up with a small agency has allowed me to experience every aspect and role of agency life,
from designer to programmer, director, project manager and account director, this allowing me to be
adaptable, flexible, hands on and always aware of the pressures, possibilities and pitfalls at every stage
in a project’s life.
I have worked with a broad portfolio of major clients including the BBC, Barclays, BMW and IHG Hotels,
creating internal and external communications across a wide range of digital platforms including video,
elearning and the web. Above all I am an innovative, spontaneous and quick thinking creative with a true
passion for every aspect of the creative process, from initial ideation through to final production
and strongly believe in the need for strong creative input at every stage of every type
of communications project.
Creative direction.
As creative director I have been responsible
for the conception and execution of an
enormous variety of digital, video and print
projects. Working with account directors,
project managers and the client themselves
to shape a creative brief. I have extensive
experience working with design and video
production teams to make client visions a
reality, maintaining creative integrity and quality
throughout the production process whilst
maintaining commercial awareness.
Design.
I love design, and work most effectively when
I am able to combine the aesthetic design
process with conceptual design and ideation
during the early stages of a project. Working
in this way helps me to quickly visualise
solutions, as well as intuitively troubleshoot
problems. It also means clients can quickly
visualise and get behind the proposed solution
with peace of mind.
Conceptualisation.
I do my best thinking under pressure. Whether
working directly with a client, or in an internal
brainstorm, I love the challenge of quickly
developing creative concepts and solutions
that will push the client’s thinking whilst
delivering on the brief. Having worked for years
across a variety of delivery mediums I never let
a preferred medium drive the solution, and I
don’t like gimmicks for the sake of gimmicks.
Content writing.
Working end to end on projects means
I have done most elements of most
communications briefs and a big part of my
role has always been content shaping and
writing. From website architecture to elearning
schematics, script writing, web content and
content management. Again I feel content
development is integral to design and find that
working on both simultaneously delivers the
best results, with content and design working
in harmony.

MA Multidisciplinary Printmaking.
University of the West of England.
09/2015 - Present.
Over the past year I have taken a sabbatical in order to complete an MA in Multidisciplinary Printmaking
at the University of the West of England. This incredibly well regarded postgraduate course has been a
fantastic opportunity for me to develop creatively outside of an agency environment as well as provide a
brief respite from the predominantly digital workflow and outputs of my previous industry roles. As well as
exposing me to a wide range of long established and cutting edge print techniques the course has been

As creative director at Aerian I was heavily involved end-to-end in a wide variety of digital projects for
an impressive client list that included the BBC, CNN, Tesco Mobile and Breast Cancer Now. The role
included the development of RFQ responses, concept ideation and design, project planning, wireframing
and prototyping, design and UX consultation and user testing. Additionally I was often required to take
on a project and account management role moving projects through the business from start to finish
typically using agile project management methodologies. This was a rewarding and demanding role that
focused heavily on user orientated UX design, and boundary pushing technological implementation for a
demanding and high profile client base.
BBC Whispering Stars.
Design and UX consultancy on a wide range of major BBC digital projects, including an innovative set of
transferable skills learning tools and the groundbreaking Whispering Stars web app which allowed BBC
viewers to navigate and explore the night sky before tagging a star with their own unique message.
CNN Africa View App.
Working with CNN on their region specific news app - CNN Africa View presented the unique challenge
of delivering a seamless app experience to users often with limited connectivity. We developed an
innovative UX which allowed the user to tailor their news service to their data needs and limitations, as
well as delicately balancing the branding needs of CNN and their corporate sponsors.
Tesco Mobile Help and Support website.
Extensive UX and design overhaul of Tesco Mobiles Help and Support centre, involved the complete
redevelopment of the sites information architecture navigation and UX, resulting in an innovative single
page search hierarchy delivering users to the required content without ever leaving the main page.

Since co-founding the digital side of the the agency in 2005 I have been responsible for leading the

bigger room. In that time I’ve performed pretty much ever traditional agency role, as lead digital designer
and programmer, to technical and account direction roles. My key role throughout has remained concept
development and design, across a range of channels and disciplines for a range of major clients in the
automotive, financial and hospitality and the company has one 8 IVCA awards for our work in the
communications industry in my time as creative director.

Development of over 20 employee engagement and elearning programme across the IHG family of
brands including a wide range of film, elearning and print based engagement materials. This relationship
has earned us 3 IVCA awards, most recently for our TED partnership campaign exploring the future of

BMW Dealer Communications.
Continued evolution of digital communications to the dealer network, ranging from product elearning
and films to the development of a digital communications portal. The quality and creativity of our
internal communications for BMW has seen these materials consistently adopted for above the line
communication and positioned Juice as a major supplier of internal and above the line communications
across BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce.

Video production.
I have extensive hands on knowledge of
all aspects of video production, including
art direction, script writing, storyboarding,
and direction. I have worked with industry
leading directors and DOPs to produce highly
produced and impactful video for clients
including BMW, IHG and Barclays.
UX design.
My remit has frequently extended to
encompass the role of UX designer ranging
