Guru Teg Bahadur visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar but was not allowed to enter. He then went to the village of Valla where he was warmly welcomed. He stayed at the home of Mai Haro for 17 days, blessing her home. A gurdwara was later built on the site to commemorate his visit. Though asked to return to Amritsar, Guru Teg Bahadur refused but blessed that an annual fair held on the full moon would bring happiness to visitors.

Namdev was born in 1270 in Maharashtra, India. He was married at age 11 and had four sons and a daughter. He was influenced by saint Jnanadeva to follow the path of bhakti and devotion to Vitthala of Pandharpur. Namdev spent many years traveling with other saints and singing hymns of his own composition. Sixty-one of his hymns were included in the Sikh scripture Guru Granth Sahib. He lived for over 20 years in meditation at Ghoman, where his temple still stands today.

Udham Singh was a revolutionary nationalist born in 1899 in India who was orphaned as a child. He witnessed the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919 which turned him towards revolution. He illegally brought guns back to India and was imprisoned for four years. He admired Bhagat Singh and sought to avenge the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy. In 1940, he shot and killed Michael O'Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab who had endorsed the massacre. Udham Singh did not resist arrest and was hanged for murder in July 1940. His ashes were finally returned to India in 1975 where he was honored.

General Dyer ordered British troops to fire upon a peaceful crowd of thousands of Indians who had gathered in Jallianwalla Bagh in Amritsar on April 13, 1919, without warning. Many people, including women and children, were killed or injured as firing continued for 10 minutes and exits were blocked. The aftermath caused further unrest and clashes across northern India, to which the British responded with brutal repression of satyagrahis and bombings. Seeing the violence spread, Mahatma Gandhi called off the non-violent movement.

Jallianwala Bagh Massacre
1. In 1919, British officials in Amritsar arrested nationalist leaders which led thousands of Indians to gather in Jallianwala Bagh to protest.
2. Brigadier General Dyer arrived with soldiers and blocked the garden's only exit. Without warning, he ordered his men to fire at the largely peaceful crowd, killing close to 1000 people.
3. The massacre accentuated political awakening in India and led to the country's eventual independence from Britain. A young witness to the event later assassinated the governor of Punjab to avenge those killed.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

- 1. Jod Mela Kotha Sahib (valla) Guru Teg Bahadur sahib’s visit to village Valla.
- 2. After becoming Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur accompanied by prominent Sikhs like Bhai Makhan Shah Lubhana, Bhai Dwarka Dass and Bhai Garrhia reached Amritsar to visit Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in November 1664. The Guru took a holy dip in the sacred tank (Srovar). In the mean time, the ministers of the holy place closed the doors of holy temple and did not permit entry to the Guru. Guru did not press or forced his entry to the sacred place. However, the guru addressed the priests and said that what sort of the administrators of Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) they were that in spite of living in the source of nectar, their minds were full of lust.
- 3. Guru ji Standing outside closed door of Shri Harminder sahib.
- 4. From Amritsar, Guru went to the village Valla, which is located at a distance of about 6 km from Amritsar on the Mehta Road. People of that area welcomed the Guru with warm hearts. The Guru got pleased by the hospitality shown by the people and blessed that place by saying “Valla Guru Ka Galla” (Valla is the bowl of Guru).
- 6. He went to Mata Haro’s home situated to the eastern side of Vallah. She served him from the core of her heart. The Guru blessed her saying “Maiaan rabb rajaian” (Upon women may rest God`s favour). GURU SAHIB stayed at the Kacha house of Mai Haro ji for 17 days. Gurdwara Kotha Sahib (Guru’s house) has been built at that place in the memory of the Guru. The Guru stayed at that place for seventeen days. When people of Amritsar came to know that the Guru was not allowed to enter the Golden Temple, they came to Valla, apologised and requested the Guru to accompany them to Amritsar. The Guru refused to go with them, but blessed them saying that if the people of Amritsar visited that location during the fair on full moon day, they would remain happy. Every year, a large number of devotees throng the holy spot to celebrate the annual fair, held on the full moon day. The month long fair starts on February 6. It is a unique example of ardent faith and devotion.
