Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib was the 9th Sikh Guru. He was trained in religious education, music, martial arts, and horse riding. As a young man, he displayed bravery in battle. He succeeded his father Guru Hargobind Sahib. Kashmiri Hindus approached Guru Tegh Bahadur for help when Emperor Aurangzeb began forcibly converting people to Islam. Guru Tegh Bahadur willingly sacrificed himself to protect the religious freedoms of Hindus. He was tortured and publicly beheaded in Delhi for refusing to convert to Islam.
