This document outlines the tasks and assessment criteria for a unit on understanding the creative media sector. The unit aims to give students an understanding of the sector's industries and their ownership structures, as well as legal and regulatory issues. For assessment, students will produce a blog with three posts: 1) defining the structure and ownership of different media sectors and companies, 2) exploring ethical and legal constraints in the media, and 3) examining regulatory bodies and a controversial media case study. The blog posts will be assessed based on criteria ranging from basic descriptions to comprehensive explanations with examples.
