The production log summarizes the process of recording and editing an advertisement using the software Reaper. The student used various techniques to make the ad as professional as possible, including fading recordings, sounds, and music in and out to make transitions smoother. Volume and pan adjustments were used to equalize noise levels between separate recordings. The volume wave technique made whispered parts louder to ensure they could still be heard.

project.Afterrecordingmyadvertseveral timestogetthe script,tonesof voice andtiming all correct
I piecedittogetherandbegantoeditit byincludingthe soundeffects,musictrackandother
techiquessuchasadjustingvolume andpitchof voices.
The most useful technique Iusedwasthe fadinginandout of the voice recordings,soundeffects
and music.Itletthe noise fade outnaturallyinsteadof cuttingfromone thingtoanotherwhich
helpedraise the professional standardof myadvert. Youcan see where Ihave usedthe fading
technique inmyadvertbylookingforthe redlinesat the beginningorendsof the bars.

2. I usedthe volume/panadjustmenttocontrol the volume of eachindividual recordingtoensure they
all had the same noise levelsandwere alsoloudenoughtobe heardclearly.Thiscame inuse to me
as I recordedsome of my scriptseparatelyaccordingtowhichclassmateswere free andat what
timesbefore Icouldputit all together;thiswaythe noise levelswereequal.
One othertechnique Iusedwasthe volume wave tomake certainpartsof speechloudertostand
out more.I appliedthisonmyadvertwhenthere waswhisperingtomake sure itwasstill heard
althoughitwas quieter.
