1971 - late 1974: Grocery Retail with Lewis & Coker Supermarkets in Houston, Texas - started as general labor
and advanced to Assistant Managerafter graduating High School. I was responsible for hiring, evaluating, and
managing over 20 employees in addition to normal store operation. Sought other opportunities when I realized I did
not want to be a Grocery Store Manager for the rest of my life.
1974 - 1978: Machinist with Cameron Iron Works, Joy Petroleum, and Loomis Hydraulic Testing in Houston,
Texas - started as general labor (grade 3) and advanced to Production Machinist (grade 10). Trained and
experienced in mills, lathes, drill presses,vertical boring machines, horizontal boring machines, grinders, shapers,
saws, blueprint reading, inspection processes,and various other pertinent criteria. Sought other opportunities when I
realized I wanted more intellectual stimulus from my work environment - the day did not go fast enough and I no
longer got satisfaction from pushing metal off parts.
1978 - 1982: Automotive Dealership experience with Archer Motors in Houston and Barner/Lanik Pontiac in San
Marcos, Texas - started as driver and advanced through Parts Counter Sales, Service Writer, Service Dispatcher,
Mechanic, Parts Manager, Service Manager, to Director of Fixed Operations over entire Service Organization
(supervised over 30 employees). Sought other opportunities when the dealership became a casualty of economic
times and closed its doors.
1982 - 1984: Automotive Department Management with Wal Mart Stores in San Marcos, Lockhart, and Texas City,

1985 - 1988: operated Matco Tool Distributorship as Schwab's Tools in Austin,Texas - sold tools on credit to
mechanics and body men in the South Austin area. Switched to part time operation and sought otheropportunities
when collections could no longer support my sales.
1988 - 1990: Truck and Heavy Equipment Parts and Service Sales with Hubert's Repair in Austin,Texas - various
responsibilities included parts management, service sales,accounting,and collection. Left to return to schooland
assist wife in operating her business.
1990 - early 1992: Direct mail sales and marketing with Creative Computing in Austin,Texas - assisted wife in
operating business and maintaining computers and printers. Sought other opportunities when we needed additional
income due to economic downturn.
Early 1991 - 10/1991: Temporary work through Adia employment services including 6 month stint as CSR with
