Experience
Systems Administrator, Akron General Health System 2001-Present
 Installed, maintains and administers the Health System’s Microsoft Exchange 2010 email system serving 7000+ users
across multiple sites and facilities. System usage includes mobile device management supporting Windows Mobile,
Android and iOS mobile devices.
 Administers and maintains the enterprise’s Cisco IronPort ESA email security appliances to ensure the integrity of the
system by reducing spam and eliminating email as a virus threat vector.
 Administers the enterprise’s Citrix XenApp environment, which provides remote application connectivity to physicians
supporting various clinical systems. Currently involved with re-engineering the existing environment to migrate it to
XenDesktop/XenApp 7.6.
 Administers and maintains the Active Directory system, for 20,000+ users and other directory objects. This includes
permission maintenance, file share configuration, user account creation and maintenance.
 Performs server-level routine and special maintenance for Microsoft Windows servers in a 500+ server environment.
 Deploys and maintains servers and systems based on both physical hardware and VMWare ESX virtual environments.
 Maintains and troubleshoots the Vocera communication badge system, both software and hardware.
 Troubleshoots, configures, and maintains MacOS computers and iOS devices that may be used within the enterprise.
 Assisting management during the current planning phases of our ITIL implementation initiatives.
 Involved in the current ongoing merging of data systems with those of the Cleveland Clinic to support our affiliation
with them.
 Various other duties as assigned / necessary.
 Prior responsibilities included maintenance of the Health System’s previous GroupWise 5.5 email system running on
our (now decommissioned) Novell Netware system, which I had upgraded to GroupWise 7 running on SuSE Linux.
Service Engineer, Banctec Corp. 2000-2001
 Performed on-site service for corporate clients and end-users of Dell desktop and portable computers, as well as many
other contracted brands, such as HP, Compaq, and Toshiba.
 Earned Dell DCSE certification for desktops and portable systems.
 Performed customer service duties to schedule appointments and service calls to facilitate the above.
 Responsible for FRU inventory control and management.
 Certified on Banctec’s Galileo travel ticket support system in use by airlines and travel agencies.

following systematic procedures to thinking “outside the box”. New systems and environments are picked up very quickly
and I am an excellent learner. I also hold a belief that things in the I.T. world work together best when they are organized
