A 48-year-old male patient was admitted with complaints of thickening of the skin and inflammation. His vital signs were monitored daily and lab tests revealed slightly elevated white blood cell count and blood sugar. The patient was diagnosed with elephantiasis caused by the Wuchereria Bancrofti parasite. Elephantiasis results from an obstruction of the lymphatic system causing fluid buildup and swelling of body tissues, most notably in the legs and genitals. The patient was prescribed a treatment plan including ivermectin, mebendazole, albendazole, ranitidine, ampicillin, and diclofenac sodium to address the infection and symptoms.
