Understand Online Communities Part 2: CentralisedHeadstream
Here at Headstream we see online communities in three different ways: de-centralised, centralised and transient. In this presentation we will outline centralised communities.
The Artful Solicitor: Successful Major Gift Moves Management4Good.org
Major gifts fundraising is highly individualized. It focuses on the 10 percent who can give the 90 percent. Unlike direct response and special events, a major gift solicitation is most likely to succeed only when you physically and psychologically get in "front" of your prospects. Involvement is the key.
Moves Management, initially developed by G.T. "Buck" Smith and David Dunlop at Cornell University, is a disciplined process of relationship management that is the best way to assure the maximum return on investment. During the webinar, we will examine the process and explore the methods of moves management from prospect identification and research through involvement, solicitation and stewardship.
Moves management is based on the premise that
being able to effectively track and measure activity
from prospects to donors will yield results for your
organization for years to come.
- Finding opportunities for cultivation
- Forecasting gift income
- Becoming focused and goal oriented
- Developing a strategy for each donor opportunity

Offer the Sizzle and the Steak, But Make It All About Them: Making ‘Virtual’ ...Charity Dynamics
For nonprofits, one of many pressing concerns arising out of the coronavirus pandemic is how to handle peer-to-peer fundraising events. In-person events are, of course, a no go for the foreseeable future. So, many organizations are looking to virtualize their events.
But how can you create a P2P event experience in the virtual world that will fully engage your fundraisers? And how do you then convince constituents to not only participate, but to fundraise as well? It’s a tricky ask and we really can’t afford to screw it up. Avoid being tone deaf by fully embracing a “you-centric” method of communication that acknowledges where constituents are emotionally and provides an exciting path to meaningful action.
Join Meghan Dankovich from Charity Dynamics and Turnkey’s Otis Fulton and Ryan Grosenick, as they discuss these important questions to help pivot your now virtual P2P programs to maximize fundraising during these uncertain time.
Are you interested in learning more about crowdfunding and how your nonprofit can use this platform to raise funds? These slides cover several crowdfunding platforms including Crowdrise, Start Some Good, Razoo, and Groupon Grassroots. We also discuss the benefits and challenges of crowdfunding for nonprofits. Readers will leave the training with ideas for promotional tactics and best practices for crowdfunding.
Grassroots fundraising and community organizingguest4b55bde
Even if you have a successful nonprofit fundraising event with lots of participants, we’re willing to bet that you’ve got even more supporters out there living their lives with gusto—having birthdays, running marathons, hosting parties, and more. How could your organization increase its impact if they turned these activities into fundraising events for your nonprofit?
With a little effort on your part, you can encourage your supporters to become fundraisers by participating in an online grassroots fundraising campaign. Join Firstgiving’s Account Management team for a discussion of grassroots strategizing and get the creative juices flowing.

DonorVoice Overview Deck.
How do you truly address the leaky bucket?
What is the best way to spend the next dollar?
How do build relationships with donors that tie to the bottom line?
In today’s connected, Googled, social world, there is a reality; more content will be created today than existed in entirety before 2003. The simple fact is we have limited time and attention spans. You need to create killer content that will get your target market to engage. While the attention economy is an important consideration when creating content you should not just be attempting to get attention but be turning your content into the talking point in your industry. It should make connections, drive interest, get shared and create advocates.
Session will look at:
Understanding the the good, the bad and the other crap - how to create content that gets cut through.
Techniques to find insights that will delight
Build a strategy and tactics for your content
What it takes to become a content king
Using the right content to nudge the buyer down the funnel
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
