This paper proposes a resource allocation scheme to support scalable video multicast for WiMAX relay networks. It presents a greedy weighted algorithm (GWA) that intelligently allocates bandwidth to maximize network throughput or number of satisfied users. To improve GWA, the paper extends it to a bounded greedy weighted algorithm (BGWA) that guarantees performance is at least 1/ρ times optimal, where ρ is a finite value greater than 1. Simulations show BGWA effectively achieves different performance objectives based on parameter settings.
