General Manager, Vivanta by Taj, Begumpet; Hyderabad – 2011 to date
Vivanta by Taj, Begumpet is an upscale business hotel with 181 rooms and
contemporary fine dining restaurants and modern amenities.
Started as GM at the project stage while simultaneously managing Taj Banjara
and created all the management systems. The project got off the ground 4
months ahead of plan and is routinely recognized by the industry and its
customers as a preferred hotel.
As President of the Hotels and Restaurant Association of Telegana, I represent
the industry in meetings with government bodies. Additionally, as a managing
committee member of SKAL we are poised to host the World SKAL Congress in
Hyderabad in 2017.
General Manager, Taj Banjara; Hyderabad – 2007 to 2011
Taj Banjara is the first 5 Star Hotel of Andhra Pradesh. The 122 room property is steeped
in history.
Apart from revenue there was a huge need to focus on legacy practices to
compete with trendy new age hotels. Innovative banqueting strategies helped
the hotel deliver its revenue targets despite the industry’s downturn post the
Mumbai terror attacks.
Food & Beverage Manager, Taj Coromandel; Chennai – 2004 (promoted as
Executive Asst Manager in 2006)
Taj Coromandel is an iconic luxury hotel of south India.
Exposure included managing very large hotel events involving heads of states
and celebrities. Was recognized for revenue growth. host to many head of states,
celebrities, sports icons. Lead managed mammoth functions outside the hotel
featuring more than 10000 guests.
Food & Beverage Manager, Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur – 2002 to 20004
Taj Lake Palace or the floating palace is rated amongst the top 100 hotels of the world.
In a very difficult period just after the 9/11 attacks, which had completely dried
up the inflow of affluent tourists, the hotel was undergoing a planned re-
structuring which added to the complexity. Process and people management
skills were tested as we navigated through significant changes.

1999
Taj Bengal has been one of the most successful Taj hotels, wells known for its food &
beverage offerings. The hotel also became a benchmark for service quality in the group.
Started as an Operations Management Trainee after Hotel School and grew up
the ladder. Worked in all F&B outlets and banquets. The biggest highlight was
being recognized as a crisis manager for F&B. Incognito, the hotel’s night club
was turned around under my charge and so was an aging Chinoiserie, the iconic
Chinese restaurant, which needed to be rejuvenated in the face of growing
competition.
