Staff presented on the City of Alamo Heights Centennial Celebration which commemorated the city's 100th anniversary from October 1st to 12th, 2022. Events included a 5K run, yappy hour, football game, trail activities, fire safety classes, parade, and culminating Centennial Fest that drew thousands with entertainment, food, music, and a fireworks show.

Presentation by staff on the City of Alamo Heights Centennial Celebration.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Alamo Heights became a municipality in June 1922 and celebrated its 100-year anniversary on
October 1st
to October 12th
, 2022. With the financial support of almost 20 sponsors and planning
and coordinating assistance from the CE Group, the City hosted two weeks of community events
and activities to celebrate the city’s centennial anniversary. Events included the following:
 Centennial Harvest Baskets
 Centennial 5K Fun Run
 Yappy Hour at Alamo Heights Bark Park
 ’09 Day with UIW Cardinal Football
 Trailgate & Movie Nights at Jack Judson Nature Trail
 National Night Out
 Fire/Safety Education Classes
 Centennial Fest
 The Argyle Experience
 Alamo Heights Howdy Parade
The culminating event for the 100-year celebration, Centennial Fest, welcomed thousands of
residents and visitors to Alamo Heights for entertainment, games, food, music, The U.S. Army
Golden Knights parachute team, and a fireworks and laser show.
