SUBJECT: Update on the City of Alamo Heights 100th
Anniversary Celebration

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Meetings consisting of Mayor Rosenthal, City Manager Buddy Kuhn and Assistant to City
Manager Jennifer Reyna are on a weekly basis in constant communication providing options and
suggestions to have a successful event.
Planning continues with CE Group to consider guest engaged activities such as rock climbing
and giant game activities on Saturday, October 8th
. Stage entertainment, site layout and securing
rentals are in process. Food trucks will be invited for the celebration. CE Group is working with
U.S. Army Parachute Team (Golden Knights) to finalizing details and permitting process. CE
Group has teamed up with True Flavors to lead the efforts of the alcohol/beverage sales,
permitting efforts for event.
City-wide activities are being ironed out the week of October 1st
through October 10th
. Activities
that are still in process are the planning of National Night Out, Centennial 5K Fun Run, Argyle
afternoon event/Alamo Heights history, Social hour at Jack Judson Nature Trails, Fire/Police
Education Safety classes. Sponsorship form is finalized to send out for potential sponsorship or
individuals/companies that have expressed interest in support.
Local sponsors and organizations that have committed engagement or in-kind donations are:
Alamo Heights Bark Park, Alamo Heights Community Garden, Bird Bakery, Boards & Brush,
CityVet, Fifi’s and Fido’s Pet Boutique, Friends of the Hondondo Creek, Marble Slap Creamery,
Mr. Cooper’s Meat Market, Mike’s Dog Store, Natural Grocers, Petbar, and Pet Supplies Plus.
Mailers are being created to be distributed in September to residents. Marketing posters and
social media efforts are part of the timeline to inform/invite residents on this special event.
