Information technology (IT) involves the use of computers, storage, networking and other devices to create, process, store and exchange electronic data. IT must be implemented at all levels of government to facilitate e-government. Government IT departments will oversee IT projects, allocate 2% of budgets to IT services and training, and qualify private firms to provide IT consultancy, software development and products. Advances in IT are transforming business and society through the emerging information economy, where information is critical and the basis for competition. IT can help solve pressing issues like education, health, poverty and the environment by developing new ways for non-governmental organizations to leverage local connections.

• Information technology (IT) is the use of any
computers, storage, networking and other
physical devices, infrastructure and processes
to create, process, store, secure and exchange
all forms of electronic data

3.  IT In Government:
 information technology must be inducted at
all levels of government.
 The e-government model for Pakistan is a
gigantic task. E-Government (Electronic
government).
 In Government Level I.T Usage is more Safe
and helpful for one society (Control Cyber
Crime like hacking .etc)

4.  On the pattern of the IT Division, each provincial
government shall create an IT
Department/Board to plan, co-ordinate, and
implement government IT projects.
 A minimum of 2% of the budget shall be
allocated for IT Services. (Training Funds).
 Working Groups shall be formed to create
awareness in all Government
organizations about the utility of computers and
IT

5.  The IT departments shall pre-qualify private
firms to provide IT consultancy
services, software development and products
to the government.

Representation from the private sector and
the provincial governments shall
continue in the IT Commission for generating
new concepts, solving IT related
problem

6.  Advances in information technology have
facilitated economic and
social changes that are transforming business
and society. A new kind of economy
called the ‘information economy’ is emerging. In
the current jargon, this is known as
e-Commerce.’
 In the new economy, information is a critical
resource and the basis for
competition

7.  Develop new ways to use information technology
to help solve the most pressing
problems of human and economic
development—education, health, poverty
alleviation, rural development, and care for the
environment

