ISFM was engaged by Blacktown City Council and the Olympic Coordinating Authority to conduct a financial feasibility study for the development of an international standard athletics facility in Blacktown to serve as a training center for athletes prior to the 2000 Sydney Olympics and to address community demand after the Games. The study showed the facility could be successfully operated both before and after the Olympics. Through the study, ISFM identified funding sources to develop the facility and ensured the ongoing financial viability and commercial success of the athletics center.

Project Description
In the lead up to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, ISFM
was engaged to undertake a detailed financial feasibility
concerning the development of an international standard
athletics facility at Blacktown.
The objective was to develop the facility adjoining the
Olympic softball centre and to operate as a training facili-
ty for international athletes in the lead up to the Games,
and address community demand post the Games.
A part of ISFM’s role was to assist in the identification of
funding without placing obligations on the Blacktown City
Council or the OCA. The study showed that the facility
could operate successfully both pre and post the Olympic
Games.
