This document discusses a smart plug system for home automation using WiFi. The smart plug allows appliances to be remotely controlled and monitored for energy consumption. It uses an ESP32 microcontroller connected to a current sensor to measure appliance energy usage. When a user's smartphone comes within Bluetooth range, the smart plug can automatically turn appliances on or off. The system was tested successfully by controlling a light remotely and monitoring its current draw. The smart plug provides a low-cost way to automate home appliances without disturbing existing controls.
