Business Impact (Nordic APIS April 2014)Nordic APIs
This document discusses the business impact of private, partner, and public APIs. Private APIs have no business relationships and low impact, while partner APIs enable new opportunities and high impact through manual integration. Public APIs have automatic business relationships but unknown usage, with very high potential impact that is realistically medium. The document advises designing APIs from the outside in, using APIs internally, and changing APIs over time by turning users into partners through communication.
Rest api best practices – comprehensive handbookKaty Slemon
This document provides an overview of REST API best practices. It discusses the key aspects of REST API design, including the 6 architectural constraints of REST (uniform interface, client-server, stateless, cacheable, layered system, and code on demand). It also outlines 12 best practices for REST API design, such as using nouns instead of verbs in URIs, plural naming conventions, implementing HATEOAS, and using Swagger for documentation. The document serves as a comprehensive guide to building robust RESTful APIs.

Who Cares About APIs? (NordicAPIS April 2014)Nordic APIs
Anne-Sofie Nielsen gave a talk on the importance of APIs. She noted that while there are over 11,000 documented APIs, there are 1.88 billion websites that could benefit from APIs. However, the entities that build applications often do not have incentives to create APIs, so companies like Kapow build "synthetic APIs" to automate integrations. APIs allow for easier development of multiple front-ends like mobile and easier scaling. While APIs require upfront costs, not having them can limit automation and consolidation of data sources. Enterprises are demanding cloud-based tools with APIs to enable future automation and avoid vendor lock-in. However, APIs are not always standardized or well-documented, and public APIs can

Contract {Collaboration} Driven Development - APIdays Interface 2020Alianna Inzana
In the API space, much of the conversation around Contract Driven Development has centered on the question “Did we build the API right?“. By using the contract as the foundation for a common understanding of the API, we can answer not only that question, but the equally important - but more elusive - “Did we build the right API?“.
In /Contract/{Collaboration}/DrivenDevelopment, we will discuss how API Specifications and consumer-driven contracts can form the basis for cross-team collaboration in delivering quality services.

Scale a Swagger based Web API (Guillaume Laforge)Nordic APIs
This is a session given by Guillaume Laforge at Nordic APIs 2016 Platform Summit on October 26th, in Stockholm Sweden.
Description:
Web APIs are and more often specified with API definition languages like Swagger (now named Open API Spec), as it can help you generate nice interactive documentation, server skeletons, and client SDKs, mocks, and more, making it simpler to get started both producing and consuming an API.
In this session, Guillaume will demonstrate how to define a Web API with Swagger / Open API Spec, and scale it using Cloud Endpoints, on the Google Cloud Platform.
Balancing Security & Developer Enablement in Enterprise Mobility - Jaime Ryan...CA API Management
Today’s enterprise mobility solutions emphasize heavy-handed IT governance of devices and applications that impose a burden on developers and/or users. However, managing data and applications using high performance mobile-optimized infrastructure can enable secure, scalable apps while minimizing the effort required by developers and allowing them to focus on their strengths. Come learn how to facilitate the best of both worlds – multi-layer mobile security using modern standards and a fantastic user experience.
CIS 2015 SSO for Mobile and Web Apps Ashish JainCloudIDSummit
In the past Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) has focused primarily on MDM, MAM and MCM. Recently there has been a lot of focus on the fourth pillar of EMM - Mobile Identity Management (MIM). This session will cover the primary use cases and discuss current solutions available for managed/un-managed, internal/public and mobile/web apps for iOS/Android devices.
This webinar presentation introduces Ionic Auth Connect, a new tool that makes authentication easy in Ionic apps. It discusses common authentication mistakes like insecure token storage. Auth Connect handles authentication flows securely using native system components. It provides a single API that works across authentication providers. The presentation demonstrates Auth Connect integrating with Auth0 and Azure authentication and discusses secure session token storage with Identity Vault. Attendees are invited to ask questions.
APIs have become a strategic necessity for your business. They facilitate agility and innovation. However, the financial incentive associated with this agility is often tempered with the fear of undue exposure of the valuable information that these APIs expose. With data breaches now costing $400m or more, senior IT decision makers are right to be concerned about API security.
In this SlideShare, you'll learn:
-The top API security concerns
-How the IT industry is dealing with those concerns
-How Anypoint Platform ensures the three qualifications needed to keep APIs secure
OAuth is more than an authentication protocol. A decade from now, OAuth will be viewed as the great enabler of new business models and wealth creation in the app economy.
In this session we'll investigate why many business development ideas don't make it past the whiteboard and how OAuth changes that. We'll tickle our imaginations and explore what is possible in a world where crossing trust boundaries is done with lower risk, more control and higher security.
We Will Discuss »

Automating QuickBooks Invoices for Government ContractorsRobert E Jones
Government contractors often struggle with customer invoice creation because of the varying requirements from customer-to-customer and contract-to-contract. QuickBooks Online and Desktop provide opportunities for efficient creation of customer invoices from time and expense data. The keys to success lie in proper setup of Items for labor category and expenses, and the automated synchronization of time and expense data. We find many clients spend several hours or days creating invoices and we want to share some tips and tricks with you. While we cannot address all of the unique formats or reports required by your customer or contract, we can help you gather the data, develop reports, and create the invoices in QuickBooks for internal reporting. All attendees will receive our free QuickBooks Items template.
Learning Objectives
Identify labor categories and services for QuickBooks Items.
Describe the QuickBooks invoice creation process.
List tools to aid in time and expense data collection.

QuickBooks to SugarCRM Integration as a SaaS Service | SugarCon 2011SugarCRM
QuickBooks to SugarCRM works with all versions of QuickBooks, locally hosted, cloud hosted or QuickBooks online and all versions of Sugar, including on-demand.
Fully automatic, fully transparent, bi-directional integration (not a plug in).
Increase efficiency and eliminate redundancy and error-prone re-entry of data. Multiple QuickBooks and SugarCRM objects can be synchronized which includes items like:
* QuickBooks Customer / Sugar Accounts
* Sugar Product Catalog / QuickBooks Item
* Aging summary: 30-60-90 and current balance information loads to custom fields in the account object in SugarCRM.
* Fully Itemized Invoices from Quotes: Products and items synchronized between Sugar and QuickBooks which allows fully itemized invoices in QuickBooks automatically from the Quote object once it transitions into a closed state. The synch is bi-directional so we can pull QB invoices over and load then into Sugar quote objects to create historical records for sales and customer service.
* ...and much more
Synchronization can occur nightly or near real-time depending on the speed of the networks and the platforms hosting both QuickBooks and SugarCRM.
Watch for these other valuable integrations from RemoteLink:
* Google to SugarCRM Integration
* Basecamp to SugarCEM Integration
* Magento eCommerce to SugarCRM Integration
* Authorize.net payment gateway to SugarCRM Integration

Digital transformation is the integration of digital technology into all areas of a business, fundamentally changing how you operate and deliver value to customers. It's also a cultural change that requires organizations to continually challenge the status quo, experiment, and get comfortable with failure.
It is essential that you integrate digital technology into all areas of business so that your business can be agile and adapts to changing circumstances. Microservices architecture gives you the agility required to build a digital business, while APIs are the enablers for turning a conventional business into a digital business.
